Gamer Verdict – Reviews of Wordling: Daily Worldle

Here’s what players have to say about their experience with Wordling: Daily Worldle:

Update…two Hours Later The Ads Are Now Only A Quick

"I loved this game until they started showing an ad between each "endless" game. I won’t be playing that anymore. Update…two hours later the ads are now only a quick screen shot rather than a longer ad that one has to finish. I changed my rating back to 5 stars.", Julie Pratt says.

  1. Update (1-9-23): Support fixed it. I’m back to no ads. ——— A few months ago I paid the $5 to remove ads. The most recent upgrade brought the ads back – and the option to remove ads is gone. Uh, not right. There are a ton of ads. After every game you have to watch several seconds of video – with audio on by default. The game is fun. But the ads are excessive.

  2. Love the new leaderboard! But why will it not show what the word is whenever you can’t guess it? Makes me sad. Irks my brain. Or it disappears too fast.

  3. Frustrated today since app has stopped showing the correct word after six guesses. Back to five stars when this is fixed. Got your message. How it was was working okay before the last release. But I’ll check your update soonest. Thanks for the quick response. Update: thanks for listening at put the feature back that allows me to see the missed word. So back to five stars!!

Michael Pollard: Updated: bug fixed. The game is really fun and stays up to date with new modes/challenges. Paid for no ads and after a little bitty bug it works as expected. Developers are responsive and helpful.

steve forsyth: Not sure if this is the official Wordle or not. After downloading it shows up as Wordler..haha. But at any rate, looks and plays almost exactly the same. Love that they added more words you can do at any time, and the expansion to four and six letter words. Ironically the four letter is listed as easy but in my experience it’s much harder because you are eliminating less letters each guess. The six is easier.

Jason O’Quinn: Wordle, with a nearly identical interface, and same once-a-day limitation, but you can play it in six languages, three different word lengths (the “classic” 5 letters, “easy” 4, or “hard” 6), and can play previous challenges as well! All this, with only one small static ad at the bottom of the game screen. Well done!

Jason Cohen: love this app – better than the by times version as you can go back and do older puzzles. Developer seems to be very responsive and resolved any issues.

Troy “big cat” Dawson: fun so far, ads can be a little annoying.

Nicholas Ourusoff: Excellent description of rules, ease of playing, scoring and sharing!

Bryan: Great experience, ads are not intrusive at all.

Find Truth: Good wordle game. Ads are short and less frequent than most games

Frank Daigre: I enjoy the app and the recent updates made nice improvements. I like the 4, 5, 6 letter choices as it stretches my acuity. But 4 letters is not always “easy”, in fact my stats are poorest in 4 letters. Still, the best “Wordle” app out there. And it works even during long periods of non-connectivity, important to me.

Carol A: Similar to Wordle, but with more options such as easy, medium & hard word choices, and you can go back and play previous day’s words that you hadn’t already played. After completing a word, it throws an ad at you, but just one, and they aren’t terribly intrusive.

Chris Sandiford: New view: EASY mode should be 6 letters and HARD should be 4. Totally wrong way round. There is less alphabet/turn with EASY so you have to be luckier. Getting the 6 letters in 3 or 4, failing lots more EASY ones. Original: Nice clone version of the original Wordle. Clean interface. Could do with a feedback button to avoid coming here for errors. Speaking of which, the word CHORUS is invalid but CHORAL is OK? Really? Ironically the final word is related to both!

Robert Curcio: I like this game alot because of all the options as u can play 4,5,6,or 7 letter words ,.much better than N.Y. Times daily wordle.

Michael Dick: Aggravating as all hell; however, it is absolutely phenomenal. IT’S A GREAT WAY TO CHALLENGE YOUR BRAIN. Not only does it challenge you to beat the game in as few tries as possible, but it also challenges you even more to simply come up with the right guesses utilizing the clues you have gotten correct. Again, PHENOMENAL!!!!

Raman Viswanathan: Please include leaderboards in next version, such that it is possible to compare anyone’s performance with other players and current progress can be transferred to another device. This Wordle mobile app included invalid words such as ADHD and Syrian in English language, but I have not played other languages. Actually, the levels Easy and Hard are interchanged in my humble opinion because more information can be got about letters of longer words in first few attempts. Anyone can adjust system date of their mobile device to get new puzzles and so there is no one word a day criteria at all. By the way, ‘All Words’ list contain all the words of the past, but by adjusting system date of mobile device, future puzzles can be played as well as current streak can be maintained for past puzzles.

Brian Newell: It’s like old mastermind game with words. Forces you to think not like other games where you just keep swiping. Swipe, swipe, swipe… ‘easy’ four letter is actually harder than the 6 letter difficulty. But otherwise, a good app worth the $5 to eliminate ads.

Marilyn Lehman: Similar to Wordle, but you have a 4 letter word option and a 6 letter word option as well daily. With the addition of “infinity”, you can play as many times as you like. I really enjoy this app.

Matthew Roberts: Love the game, simple, challenging and oh so satisfying to solve! Thanks for adding the previous words and allowing us to see all the ones we solved.. and didn’t still solve. I’m so glad I can go back and tackle the ones that stumped me!

Daren J. Mongello: Great game. Stop crying over ads! It’s simplicity also makes it elegant. For those crying over ads? Games are not free to develop and publish. Ads pay for those costs. If you won’t watch 30 second ads to help the developers earn revenue, don’t play the game and complain. Ridiculous mindset.

Leon G: Easy is based on people knowing many more four letter words. Many people wont know the spelling of 6 letter words… Although the word choice strategy is different for different numbers of letyes , and a little more complicated for the four letter game . Balance avoiding repeat letters with getting the common letters and the less common letters..

Catherine Taft: Great adaptation of Wordle. Same look and same functionality. The words are challenging but generally (a few exceptions) not obtuse or weird. People whining that it’s one word a day: so is the actual web-based Wordle. People whining about the ads: you’re not going to play a second word so just put the phone down for 30 seconds and let the ad play so the devs can pay their bills. Stop complaining.

Connie Reynolds: Fun game…Support team is great.

Lynn Anderson: very challenging but once you figure out some good strategies you can guess the word in three or four tries. One of my favorite weird games AND so far no pop up ads.

Jeff Cooke: Brilliant. All working as it should now. Happy

PH Possum: I’ve played the 5 letter version for a good while and it’s as good as any. They recently added support for 4- & 6-letter words and though their 6-letter dictionary had missing words initially, it seems fine now.

Amit K: Suggestion: user should be able to upload his final answer to server. If user has solved the puzzle in x attempts, the app should show how many users completed in x attempts. Also show how many users used the exact same combination tries which the user has tried.

S Elmer: Easy to use. Joyglitch knows how to design great apps. Nice job.

znipper 80: I really enjoy the game! It is fun with just the right amount of challenge!

Timothy James Nelson: great to have for puzzles every day, a 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 letter word

Kim Budd: Great mind challenging game.

Topher Gee: Fun, challenging, straight forward and free. Determining a strategy is satisfying. It feels like doing a crossword answer without seeing a clue.

Lew Levy: I really enjoy this game. It has a 4, 5, and 6 letter daily word with access to all previous puzzles. Simple interface so you can focus on the puzzle.

richard oldham: Love it… You only get one word a day but you also get the chance to do the previous words. Sometimes I am there for an hour on one word, other times 2 minutes. My biggest average is 4 but I have managed to get it in 3 on a few occasions.

7 paul: Great exercise mind game. Its challenging and entertaining for self and parties. My grandchildren love the word challenge. Recommend for all ages to improve vocabulary and spelling.

Kevin Kirkpatrick: March 25: (editted) (spoiler for 3/25) Today I learned a new word. I originally left a negative review because when I searched for ***** it appeared to be a non-english word and I assumed it was incluse by accident in the English game. I now realize its a common music term. My mistake!

Mike Turner: I like this better than the ‘other’ word game. Graphics are better, you get 3 games every day : 4 letters, 5 letters and 6 letters. Just as challenging, keeps your stats too.

Connie Mu: Fun. Strikes a nice balance between those who want a ‘word of the day’ format and the ‘unlimited’ crowd, by allowing you to play previous days’ words. Especially nice is the stat that shows your avg success: got the word on the 3rd word, 4th word, etc.

Christopher Murray: Great App, but in the German version, there are no umlaut letters on the keyboard, so many German words cannot be spelt. I don’t know about the other languages so much but I dIdn’t see any accents on the French keyboard either.

graeme harrison: nicer layout of keyboard than the other apps with a similar game, please add a dictionary reference for the winning word, also when sharing it would be nice just to display the blank colored tiles and not actually letting anyone see the answer, it keeps them curious and im sure you will get more people signing up to use it

Timothy Vandover: Wordle is fun, and only takes a few minutes per day. My only complaint is that it doesn’t recognize some valid words – it rejected “gored” a couple days ago. But overall, quite enjoyable!

Josh Josh Spangler: if you like wordle but don’t like waiting hours and hours to play one game, this game is for you. There are ads but they don’t interrupt the game, or at least that’s my experience so far. Really enjoying playing it.

Radu Galis: So far it’s much better than the competition

Jim Styka: Very easy to play, not so easy to win. This is more of a logic puzzle than a word puzzle game. You guess letters then try to fit them together to make a 5 letter word.

Elizabeth Stogden: great game, great developers. I experienced one bug since I started playing, I reached out to let them know, they fixed it within the hour. super friendly and responsive developers. super fun game

Julie Sobutka: best version. you can do past ones if you miss them, challenge your friends, and do different number of letter puzzles. it exceeds all the other versions by far, including wordle

Adam P: Really fun. Love the quick playability and the ability to share your results without giving up the answer. I just started, but it’s a fun way to start your day. Coffee helps.

Chris Dec: Great quick game. Fresh and original, based on traditional systems of letter elimination. I look forward to my word every morning!

Mary McClure: When I read that the New York Times bought the original game and might put it behind their paywall, I went looking for clones. This seems like a good substitute.

Meta Carpenter: Lol of course they had to change the name once NYT bought out wordle. NYT made wordle bougie though with words like swill and tacit right off the bat after claiming they were going to have less bougie words… soon it’ll be “You didn’t know the word abets?” Lol. NYT never gonna change I guess. This one has been pretty solidly everyman words though and I like that. It’s not about being a human thesaurus, it’s about being clever with choosing and guessing.

Michael Greer: Very enjoyable to play, not revealing which letters are repeated in a word makes it very challenging, I like that a lot.

Leanne Lu: Yes, this is basically the copy of the browser Wordle. I do enjoy that one every day. What I like about this app is that I can do other languages! I play the French one on this app daily. I do the English one as well if I get really bored during the day.

Corletta Smothers: I like a challenge. This game keeps me on my toes. I tried it before downloading and I haven’t gotten the word until my 4th try. I’m on a mission to solve the word before that.

Peter Mortensen: Start with adieu, it eliminates the not used vowels right away. Then choose a word with the used vowel(s) and letter o. you should be able to solve it in the remaining 4 attempts. Works for me!

Aaron Baxter (Aaron Belafonte): The beat Wordle clone I’ve found. Actually better than the web-based original, in my opinion. My friends on iOS are asking if you plan to make an iPhone version.

maou: Fun game. You can only play once a day but that just makes it more hype. Good use of restraint in game design. Other more complex mobile games should take notes.

Deb Tilley: other than all the ads in between words it’s great. 4,5 and 6 letter words. if you forgot to do one you can go back days later to do it.

Laura B: Fun and challenging. I like the variety of options. I can play much longer than before when there was only one word per day.

ng dolly: The longer I played this game, my interest grow because when I get the work correctly is very satisfying and you want to stay on and play to see good results.

Janette Larson (Ireadalota): I like the update that gave it two other difficulty levels. I love the archive so I can catch up if I miss a day.

kevin wilbanks: An update apparently added haptics which you must disable each time you open the app. I am removing this app now. (Update) somebody with customer service apparently read my previous review and an update corrected the annoying issue with about a week.

Poison Ivy: i spent a long to time trying to figure out a word with ‘ATH’ in the middle of it. i gave up and started typing random words. took about 50 tries but i eventually got the word ‘Lathe’….. ???? i have no idea what that even means. 10/10 i love this

BRUCE PETERSON: Keeps your mind on track. You must use strategy and be good at guessing. Be analytical and take your time. It doesn’t matter if you go slow as it isn’t a timed game.

Ursula Strydom: Fun, fast, enjoy this game

Dutch Kayaker: challenging game, after a while, you run out of possible words it could be. Great brain teaser.

Georgina Kandasami: Great guessing game. Requires some level of vocabulary knowledge. Enjoyable. Limiting to one per day helps prevent addiction.

Lynn “Traveler” Meier: love this game do it everyday

Bob Krampetz: Excellent! If you like Wordle, you’ll love this one. Additions to the original Wordle make this a ‘Must Have’ app
