Community Insight:
Our Japanese sensei is very impressed with how quickly and thoroughly we are learning hiragana, katakana, and beginner kanji. Japanese Dungeon is our ace in the hole – cant recommend it enough or give it enough stars.
Super cute old style game to help with your Japanese, the story is cute and the app has helped us memorize hiragana. Def recommend.
Being timed is a great way to make you think quickly so that looking at the letters and translating it in your head becomes automatic and get to the goal of knowing and not needing to translate. This app so far has been a good way to solidify what Ive learned.
Would recommend to anyone new to learning Japanese.
It teaches speed over all understanding what they look like and Identity then with speed very good so far and will continue to use.
This is a good way to learn Japanese! One question, if you purchase the master key does that mean unlimited energy or it unlocks all the dungeons.
Its good, the only complaint we have is that some of the English could use a bit of work, but its still understandable.
This game is our favorite to learn japanese.
This app has singlehandedly helped us memorize the hiragana and katakana alphabet helping us excel through educational books learning words, phrases and grammar.
Its really good! We love the concept. It helps us memorize the alphabets while having fun.
Im taking our first year hiragana class and this app is helping tremendously. Its fun design and accessibility allows us to have fun while using this for our actual learning.
This game is now a 5/5 for us! Our only complaint before was not having energy, but we found that you could buy unlimited for like $3. So we are now completely satisfied with this app.
This is a great tool to learn Japanese characters. Lots of fun while learning.
Ive been studying Japanese for the past few months now, and Ive been getting a little sick of the apps that Ive been using, so we just happened to find this lovely game (^v^). If youre curious as to what other programs Ive been using, Ill just give you a quick list w/ little to no description about them: Lingo deer+ (lots of memorization things and was roughly $60, but it was totally worth it imo), Busuu (our favorite of the bunch because it has lessons, its free (if you want), and it enables you to help others learn English/whatever you speak while they help you learn Japanese), Duolingo of course, and Manabi Reader (gives you Japanese text to read. Its also for all levels). This app helps a lot because it makes continuing to learn Japanese less of a challenge since its teaching us in a fun and playful manner. Good luck out there, Logan C.
Such a nice idea:) we with you guys a success.
Learning the Japanese characters is hard but this game makes it practical and fun! We dont really enjoy traditional learning when it comes to languages so this helps.
We dont often have times where we have trouble connecting English to Japanese but we know we dont read as fast in Japanese as we do in English. We dont know if this app has Katakana yet but if it did thatd be amazing because thats our main issue is Katakana.
We love this game. Its so fun and a fun way to learn any kind of language. This is good for your kids, older childs, and adults. We say you should try it out today.
We have adhd and find most language lesrning apps difficult to focus on, this one acting like a game makes it easier for us.
Its a much more fun way to learn compared to Duolingo.
This game is pretty fun compared to other Japanese learning games.
Its really good and fun and it helped us to learn it more but at the same time we wish there where more like this.
Ngl this helps us alot for school we just started using it and its pretty fun.
Not bad, but kanji would be nice.
This app is honestly quite fun and so useful for learning/reviewing the basics. Thank you for creating it! (:.
So far so fun (: using this to review our basics. Will update review later.
Ive tried to learn Japanese many times, but always run into difficulties with the memorization… This app seems pretty effective, so maybe it will finally stick! Thank you for the cheap option to get rid of the energy system.
We really hope the developers of this are proud of this app because its helping us learn so well.
We are a high schooler trying to get our language credit. We were scrolling through our App Store and encountered this app we have only Ben playing for a few minutes and it has helped us so much.
This is helping us so much! It makes it fun to learn. Thank you.
For us, this makes it fun to brush up on some of the things we already know. Basically a flash card game attached with killing monsters and points. Again, we find it entertaining and fun.
The music is upbeat its not something that will get annoying if its stuck in your head its a fun game its an amazing way to learn Japanese and we cant wait to get farther into the game.
It is very fun and easy to use and helpful.
This is a great way to learn Japanese! Very fun, the level up Is very great! We totally recommend this.
This is so unique! And as a person who loves retro games like this, it really does a good job in keeping our attention! Having the grunts of the orcs as the sound of the word is a really nice touch :).
We have a lot of different Japanese apps on our phone and this app is one of our top few who help us learn. Learning in other apps do help but one is a time base along with a fun little game and you get to unlock new characters with the coins you get from learning. We have learned a lot from this and we think you would also have a good time learning with it.
We really enjoy this app, theres no other Japanese learning app like this. This deserves more ratings and more attention. To the creators of this app,.
This game put us 4 weeks ahead of our class in one.
We only just downloaded this app 30 mins ago. Ive been learning Japanese for around 2 years so Ive tried a lot of different things. Most apps are structured about the same, but others are better programmed than others. Japanese Dungeon is a fun and unique way to practice your Japanese, or learn if youre new.
We really wonder why this game doesnt have more reviews. We cant pay attention for more than 30 seconds when studying hiragana, and this helps a lot. Plus the music is great.
We love this game its very entertaining and fun we think you will love it too if you want too lorn Japanese.
At first, we didnt think it was gonna be fun but we gave it a try and now Im glad we did. We get daily practice while having some fun…unlike flash cards which get really boring after a while. Im so glad we found this. It makes Japanese learning actually fun and simple (:.
Its a really great game. Its fine for kids and adults, which is shocking since most games like this are not. Its like those fun old adventures games. Really great story too! You get to have a 1,000 gold on your first day. They also have a mini game that give you gold depends on your score. All Im saying, is that the game is really great.
Its a cute, retro style game. Havent gotten very far into it, but right at the beginning its teaching hiragana which is rather important, so thats good. The music is pretty awesome. Probably not a way to learn Japanese fluently, but definitely a fun way to review basics.
We love the game, but! We wish there was more quests! Like lots of quests, so we didnt just have to do the daily quests.
We were going through the Japanese learning apps and downloading a few that caught our eye when we came across this cute little app. We started playing and we will say, it's absolutely worth it. We HIGHLY suggest getting another app to teach you the basics mainly because it doesn't do a lesson or any other kind of study method and you only see the key to what everything means once before you start playing, but if you have any other app and want to review, this is certainly something we suggest.
Im still looking for a game thats fun and helps us learn Japanese, well. This one isnt there yet. Gamewise, theres a lot that could be improved, including the economy. More importantly, the language aspects are lacking. We unlocked dungeon level 4 (by watching too many ads). Looks like 130+ levels of flash cards. Except theyre multiple choice, which we believe is worse than pure recall (eg a normal flashcard). Also, we saw hiragana and katakana, but no kanji. Try another game/app. Theres always Anki.
Love the app but a lot of the sounds sound very not accurate it has good story we love but when it comes to sound Quality it can improve for an example sounds like p instead of a is very hard to hear but besides that we love the app and can use another app to get better quality audio.
This is a fun way to learn hirigana but we would recommend a few changes. First would be to extend the energy bar to 10 or further since that would get you from a-we-e-u-o (also probably add n in there) to wa-we in one playing session. We would also recommend implementing something to make it stop choosing the same question twice or more. We are trying to memorize hirigana and getting ma six times in a row is rather annoying. Other than that the game looks great.
We personally enjoy the game a lot and its helped us from an educational standpoint quite a bit as well, but you cant see your coin count on IPhones.
