Community Insight:

The nostalgia is so heavy with this. Great game, being 23 sucks :(.

We wish this would update again, it was truly ahead of its time.

A decade later we come back to review. Im glad our younger self had the chance to play this game. Getting us all teary.

Would love controller support on this.

Go one Xbox go on steam go on Sony make your money!!! Its such a fun game still so much potential.

We used to play this game a ton when we were a kid. Nobody knew this game, so we would ask our siblings to play with us and only one was interested. We played other sandbox games like these, but this one was something we enjoyed the most. There are a vast variety of items and biomes now. Used to be a small game back then, but we see the improvement in the game and it makes us happy. We think this game is a hidden gem when it comes to 2D and sandbox games, similar to Minecraft and has its inspirations shown in the game, but it is its own game. We hope more would support this to become a more enjoyable game and popular.

We love the game and would like to see the whole screen and have a more comfortable hand placement.

Great game, however, it does not work with iPhone 12 mini iOS 14.8.1.

THIS GAME WONT WORK ON IOS 9 DEVICES ANYMORE THE GAME WILL CRASH! USE IOS 10 DEVICES AT LEAST.

Amazing app doesnt even lag like minecraft does.

This game is phenomenal and we wish it still had updates and they didn't give up on it :(.

10/10 recommend if you like builders, with an adventure style game. Ive been playing this for years we hope the devs never give up on it.

Us and our bestfriend ryan back in elementary and middle school would go hard on this game,,, on the weekend for hours ,, on skype and everything,, wish pixabits had more of a presence with this game and a wiki ,, this game could be huge still.

Game is such a classic, give it some last love.

The Game is VERY great, we highly recommend it, BUT the Multiplayer mode needs a bit of work, there is a chance it can glitch, example: one player is on the roof on their screen but the other sees them on the floor, it does need a patch.

Man we remeber playing this game when we were like 9 and we remeber the amount of players you could que up with online, and to be honest we feel like the game concept and stuff like thay and just this game in general could be big and stuff if it just got out there more. We dont even know its a good game we just miss playing it with random people.

Junk Jack is an amazing game. Ive played it for years , ive recently encounter a bug that exited us out the game and it didnt save so we lost all our items that we had found. Still a great game.

We played when we were a little kid SO MUCH. Its honestly should be up there with Terraria and Minecraft (both of which we love). Awesome game.

Super addicting, we find ourselves playing until 4 in the morning when we have to be up for work at 630am. Worth every penny. So much content it's staggering. Have fun.

Switch has it, move it on here please.

Long time player and glad to play a little more with the fix, thanks gang.

Amazing game a mix between Minecraft and terraria so much fun.

Recently there was an issue where you couldnt touch any option on the screen but the update fixed it. Thank you so much.

Its good just crashes on character creation when we try to name our character.

This game is amazing and all and its good as terraria! This game has entertained us for years and its so fun to explore! But theres one question we have, how do you use portals? Ive been trying to figure out how to use portals but it didnt work and still dont know yet and Im so curious whats in there. So please let everyone get a hint of how to make and use the portal.

So your wandering through the comments to decide if you should purchase this game! If youve come across this comment Ill give you a short review on the prose and cons. Now this game is not a Minecraft or terraria rip off! Its not, it has similaritys but its not the same game, it also has some portal knight inspiration as well! Its easy enough to play controls are responsive enough and menus and UI are good! Planets are all beautiful and well designed, crafting is decent and enemys are cool! We also love the idea of the little collectibles you can find. Now cons for us its really just building we dislike the building in this game and find it quite tedious. Anyways thats like it so hope this helps.

Rerelease with a free update. Keep the iaps. And add cloud support.

One of the crafting options makes no sense to us whatsoever. It takes wooden boards in order to make wooden planks.. But in order to make wooden boards you just must use a wooden plank.

Idk why but it will nit let us join our friends it freeses and then [uts us back on home screen of junk jack idk why.

Holyyy cow this game is so good but so underrated. Before you say anything, THIS AINT A RIP OFF OF MINECRAFT TERRARIA OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. Terraria is more rpg, Minecraft is more simple. Junk jack takes both of those and throws it off the window. This is our first review we did in a while but its true, this game is so underrated but has more to do than Minecraft. (Sorry mc your really fun too.) Sadly barely anyone knows this and we feel, like its a bit overpriced. We played this game ever since the first one which was in 2013. The cons is micro transactions that are pay to win Atleast some of them which is why its a four star, still good tho. And still enjoyable at a lot of instances. This is all we have to say about the game, cya and buy it now.

We love this game but Im at a stand still. The recipe for the hen house requires wood planks. To get wood planks you need wood boards. But to get wood boards you need wood planks. Am we missing something? Or is this a glitch.

For Junk Jack uninitiated: its fun, rich in shear number of items and collectibles and has adorable pixel-ish artwork combining traditional pixel art graphics for character tools and items with sometimes incongruently detailed environmental blocks. Its built for mobile and excels at keeping the interface simple enough to be played with one finger or thumb. While Junk Jack wears its influences (Terraria, Minecraft) on its sleeves as a sandbox with heavy emphasis on crafting, it ultimately falls flat on basic play mechanics. Different weapon types deal different damage types effective on different enemies. The super-short list of quick-swap slots combined with frustratingly limited one finger control (no multi-touch) often means choosing to move, select weapons or attack, all in real-time when only one of those things can be done at a time. Regardless of what weapons you use, combat is almost universally hit that baddy as fast as possible to keep it pinned and air-juggle it to death. This unforgivably works for enemies of all tiers, bosses/mini bosses included. This often equates to NOT choosing an optimal weapon in favor of spamming attacks with whatever you have enabled at the time. Progression in the game is a laborious grind of acquiring new items with only marginal improvements in their damage or durability. Tools, weapons and armor can be enhanced through gem encrustation, but each item is limited to a single enhancement. Character and chest inventory sizes are exceedingly limited, so maintaining Armor/Weapon sets specialized to particular planets or biomes is extra tedious. Sadly, recent editions of the game (3.31) crash regularly with resulting inventory loss. After hundreds of hours in the game, this was the final dealbreaker for us. Junk Jack offers an outstanding quantity of trinkety items to change pets and character appearance. In this case, we would gladly exchange quantity for quality if weapons and armor abilities made a strategic difference, like classing in Terraria or Minecraft (both of which have exceptional replay value partially because of this).

Great game. Went around collecting portal pieces to get back to our base. Got them placed down and the whole app crashed. Everything we did to our base was reset as well as all the portal pieces completely disappearing. They didnt even respond where we collected them from. Kinda ruined the game for us.

This game is great and very addicting, but would be vastly improved by controller support, iCloud saves (so you could play on multiple devices), multiple save versions in case you screw something up, and a fix for the recent crashing. Lately Ive experienced several crashes that resulted in the repeated loss of hours of gameplay, which amounts to this being totally unplayable. At the very least, there needs to be some sort of auto-save feature to combat these types of crashes. Id certainly be willing to pay extra for any of these additional features but probably will have to delete this for the time being.

We love the game but we would love it even more if we had controller support.

Controls arent bad as touch but add controller support and easily 5 star. Will update when that happens. Its 2021, this game + controller support is a must.

This game would be great with it, but without it its just mediocre.

Developer still makes money but had the wiki guide forum to this game took down dont see the need why we know not many people play this game anymore but we cannot get answers to anything anymore, we have reached out in many ways to get help but no response.

Too many crashes after we die and all items despawn super frustrating.

App says it supports it but won't even open.

Wont open on iOS 13. No app support anymore. Waste of money. Such a bummer.

We were excited to play this with our boyfriend, so we bought it and as soon as we opened it we couldnt click on anything. No single player, multiplayer was joinable but we couldnt touch anything, not even the options worked. Really disappointed.

When your playing junk jack with 2 people the host can open everything but there stuff the other player cant and if they try it kicks them out of the game.

Played for hundreds of hours…but the last earth shattering compatibility told us to throw our old phone away…guess ill throw away junk jack too :(.

Honestly, we went into this one thinking joy, another terraria/ Minecraft clone. This game is actually really unique though. The diverse crafting options and huge mechanic of being able to travel to different worlds makes a very exciting and fun experience. Micro transactions are very fairly priced and we love the simplification of the crafting menu. Very underrated. Also we love the music on this. Almost enough to make us give it five stars on that alone. Really brings good atmosphere to the different planets. Adding this as a side note a few months after the original review, dont use ladders. They crash the game, plz fix. EDIT: just came out with a hot fix, idk if the ladders are still a problem. Small thing as well, trying to backspace a character or planet name when there arent any Letters or such crashes the game. Small issue, but still.

Mobile friendly crafter explorer. Great gameplay music and mechanics. Happy to see a stability update, shows signs the game devs are still invested with this gem of a game. Look forward to more content in the future.

Great game but constantly crashes.

We want our money back and if we dont then this app is getting shut down and Ill make it happen.

We bought this game to play with our bf. Considering the fact there were bugs that made it impossible for us to forge, and items disappearing after farming for hrs, we still loved the game and learned to work around em. BUT since the latest update we cant even get into the game anymore. It wont let us push any buttons anymore and its just completely broken. Its a game with a lot of potential but unfortunately too flawed. We would just be cautious when it comes to purchasing this game.

We just bought this game and it wont even let us start, cant click on new game. FYI we have the iPhone 12 pro max.
