Description

After six years of development, what began as a simple rocket simulator has become a comprehensive aerospace sandbox in which you can bring to life anything you can imagine – from rockets, airplanes, and cars to entire planets. Over time, the more we added, the more SimpleRockets 2 outgrew its name. With much consideration we have decided to change the name to "Juno: New Origins" – a title that symbolizes a new start.

AEROSPACE SANDBOX
Juno: New Origins is a 3D aerospace sandbox where players can use customizable parts to construct and test rockets, planes, cars, or anything they can imagine in an environment with realistic physics across land, sea, air, and space.

CAREER MODE + TECH TREE
Take control of your own aerospace company and earn money and tech points as you progress through the game. Complete contracts to earn money, and discover a mixture of hand-crafted and procedural contracts that offer countless hours of new gameplay. Conquer milestones and explore landmarks to earn tech points and unlock new technology in the tech tree. Interactive tutorials are available to show how to build and operate rockets, cars, and airplanes.

RESIZE AND RESHAPE PARTS
Stretch and shape fuel tanks, wings, cargo bays, fairings, and nose cones with easy-to-use tools that help you create exactly what you want. Resize solar panels, landing gear, pistons, jet engines, etc to fit your needs. Paint your craft custom colors and tweak their reflectiveness, emissiveness, and texture styles.

DESIGN ROCKET AND JET ENGINES
Engines can be adjusted in a myriad of ways, such as changing the power cycle, combustion pressure, gimbal range, fuel type, and adjusting nozzle performance and visuals. You can customize an engine to be a power house for lift off, or to be a super optimized vacuum engine that maximizes Isp for interplanetary travel. The engine’s performance affects its visuals in flight too as shown by the exhaust’s expansion or contraction based on its interplay with the atmospheric pressure. Shock diamonds are pretty but they are a symptom of suboptimal engine performance! If you don’t care about any of this, then you can just attach a pre-built engine and hit launch!

PROGRAM YOUR CRAFTS
Easily drag and drop code blocks to program your crafts to log telemetry, automate them, design your own MFD touch screens, etc. With Vizzy, a programming language designed specifically for Juno: New Origins, you can expand the capabilities of your crafts while learning programming, maths, physics, etc.

REALISTIC ORBIT SIMULATION
Orbits are realistically simulated and support time-warp so you don’t have to wait several months to reach another planet. The Map View makes it easy to see your orbits and plan future burns, which you can use to set up future encounters with other planets or satellites.

DOWNLOAD CRAFTS, SANDBOXES, AND MORE
Download from a huge collection of user-uploaded crafts, sandboxes, and planets on SimpleRockets.com. Upload your own crafts and sandboxes and share them with the community. Rise through the ranks from a white level builder to a gold level builder and beyond.

Updated on 12th April 2023

  • Added JUICE sandbox challenge in collaboration with ESA (European Space Agency). Visit the moons of Tydos with the JUICE satellite.

  • Improved solar panel arrays with new hinge, custom deployment animation, and adjustable panel rows.

  • Overhauled Map View with enhanced Planned Burns, Closest Approach calculations, clarity improvements, and bug fixes.

Juno: New Origins Reviews

We love this game yeah sure the building could be a bit weird sometimes and the controls are a bit confusing but once you get used to them its not so bad Im a kerbel space program super fan and basically having that on our phone is awesome.

Great game just add some guns and bombs ,also add online mode and more engines.

We have been playing this game for over a year now and we love it. We still have suggestions like giving the player money to launch their rocket when they first experience carrer mode.

As a simple rocket 1 player, JNO was pretty amazing, not only because of its improved physics engine but also the beautiful scenes and the mobile friendly designing.

The original game was great!! The last update screwed up,a couple things. But this revamped game is terrible.

Please add back the cheats and naming for the astronauts.

The Solar system needs to be recreated with a Sun to orbit, as well as eventually the ability to visit other solar systems.

This sim is the best we’ve played on any platform ever. Highly polished, and the freedom in this game is unrivaled. Thank you to everyone that worked on this game.

This is more than a game! This is spectacular. Simple rockets 1 and Juno New Origins are the best game for experimentation and concentration with rockets! From beginners who just want to play around to gaming rocket scientist, this game is a must!

  1. The planes are amazing 2. The graphics put KSP to shame, and are at least a smidge better than anything KSP 2 has 3. The hardware requirements are super accessible. The fact you can get a DESKTOP that will STRUGGLE to run KSP 2 with MODERATE graphics? Squad must not be trying! Jundroo? You can at least manage 30FPS+ on even BETTER graphics on a THREE YEAR OLD IPHONE 12 is just amazing!!!!!! 4. They listen to the community so much! We left a yt comment on their channel saying that the SR2 on their app logo was confusing considering their name wasnt SimpleRockets 2 anymore, and they removed it! 5. The game is so versatile that the first time we got to orbit in Career mode was when our mom was driving us to school. Wonder why our mom drives us to school? Look below 6. The game is so easy even I, a pre-teen, can understand a lot of the stuff that goes on. We have yet to see a single space kraken in the Juno planetary system. Speaking of planetary systems, 7. You can make your own planetary systems, on mobile! Ok our cursor is going wacky now, all we have to say is that we would like to give whoever made the physics engine a big fat hug :) You shouldnt get this if you want some KSP knockoff, you should get this PERIOD.

Ever since we started playing this game, we were absolutely obsessed with it. However, it is lacking a few aspects to make the game feel complete. First, we need a system where you can plant flags. Second, we need the ability to travel between celestial bodies have a purpose. Such as collecting rock samples. Third, we need better damage models. Such as denting or sounds when something detached. Or the astronauts dont just spontaneously explode when they take damage. Fourth, we need the astronauts have G forces on them. Similar to the test dummy you removed. Overall, this is a very, very, very great game.

So we were just on like an airplane and then no just wanna know in general the game just like crashes all the time and its really annoying!

As a long time player of KSP, Simple Planes and Rockets and Space Agency this is as good as we think can be managed on a mobile phone. We mean you can change nozzle sizes and lengths to optimize for ISP for Gods sake! Its pretty good, pretty deep and pretty hard.. But as an official rocket surgeon we guarantee, youll blow yourself up over and over and still keep coming back for more :)

We have not played much of this game, but the one thing we noticed thats off about this game is the rocket controls. The building controls are fine. And just so you know, im in the tutorial right now. We have no idea how to control the rocket, even if we did know how, it looks really hard. So please add something to show people how to use the controls or make it easier.

We have this game on mobile and it is good but when we try download something we cant because it is too big or something.

This game has major bugs can we please get a refund ???

Tried to build a rocket and nothing is in engine category. Youd think that is a tad important. We prefer ksp2 to this junk, which is saying something.

This is a very good game, but we have one suggestion. You should give astronauts the ability to travel through docking ports. This would make building space stations with custom interiors easier since astronauts would be able to travel from one module to the other.

This game is super fun to mess around in and to build cool rockets we really like how u can download rockets drone your website but what we start the game and begin the launch it laggy for a couple of seconds (3-5) pls make the game more stable. After 2 years of playing this game we havent got board and still enjoy playing for hours each day Thank you for reading Thank you for make sr2/Juno: new origins.

Only thing id love to know is when is career mode coming to mobile or do you ever plan to add it in?

While we were browsing reviews and saw someone stating that their 12 pro max constantly crashed when he was playing this game we have a 12 mini… With only 64 gigs… And it works perfectly fine Yes, it’s complex, but it’s good for people who are planning to be an engineer.

On your website even the safe crafts that will not crash it says that it is too big so we cannot download this cool spaceplane please fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We really want to do more with this simulator but we just cant work around the controls. Some examples. Ill have our view just perfectly the way we need it then go to use the selection tool, but instead of being able to grab the tool it moves the screen. Grrrrr. Other times the tool will do things and we dont know why. Sometimes it will do that and it will be helpful and Ill want to do it again but cant. Other times it will do some thing inexplicably and we want it to stop and it wont. Like duplicating everything we try to manipulate. Sometimes we will be able to resize and object other times we cant on that same object. Why? We bought this years ago when it first came out and we believe it started you out with a tutorial which might help us now. But we cant find a way to access it. We even uninstalled and reinstalled the app and no tutorial. Again why? We understand the controls are a bit of a compromise on a touchscreen device and maybe are better on PC? But here they need to be improved, VASTLY improved as they are not at all intuitive.

Symmetry doesnt work we have a crew capsule thats not attached to a fuel tank and symmetry works for it but we have a side separater And we try to use symmetry and it doesnt work so please fix the symmetry.

Best game ever soooo addictive but every some time it kicks us out if you are reading this jundroo please fix this.

Why do so much people say its bad and its hard to build but NO! Its easy its fun just look at the tutorial and you will see how easy it is.

What its need is reentry visuals so we can actually see the reentry so that entering the atmosphere is easier.

When we first played the game it was fun. Then we tried adding SRBs we did but when we launched, the first stage was for some reason our side interstates. The second one was our SRBs and our Apex engine. So basically our stages were flip-flopped.

We hope the next thing in the simple games to be Simplerails.

Can you please add a form of mining to the game Just a drill a Storage tank of some sort And something to use a for like solid rocket boosters or fuel production just take our words into consideration and leave it at that -sincerely Sam flugzleug panzer.

The name is a lie but if you like rockets, and dont know how to make it fly, watch all of Scott Manleys videos. Only decent space game on iOS that (a) doesnt have more than 2 axis of control, and (b) doesnt have any ads paywalls, or other stuff. Even Anubis Space ditched SFS for this.

This is so good it like way better than other space rocket game.

This is hands-down the best rocket game ever! The game is very well-made. A lot of complains in reviews are about building, so Ill explain: If your parts arent mirroring properly, thats because you designed the rocket/thing wrong. The building process can be long or short (depending on skill, what youre trying to make, and what it needs to be/do). With update 0.9.920 around the corner, the game just keeps getting better!

So we had a problem with this before the rover wheels dont stop so can you please fix that please because we dont think thats supposed to be there because when you stop a car right it doesnt move it stops not a whole Nother around so can you please fix this in the next update or anything just just fix it we dont care what you do just fix it please we are having some troubles with us please thank you.

If your bad at rocket games dont play you really have to really think hard.

How to turn off thermal damage and visual vibration?

We think this is almost better than ksp, almost, and yeah, great rating. We think that you should make the exhaust from the engines bigger and thicker and stuff, like the satisfying real launches, or the sea dragon animation launch. Overall its great and you dont have to do it, we will edit the review if we get any more ideas. :

So we make a ton of large rockets (500+ in total) and its slightly annoying that the game might crash mid-designing, or mid-launching (and sometimes when taking photos). But aside from those problems the game is great and very fun to make. In conclusion, this game is amazing, but it needs memory utilization improvements.

Please put it the way it was before these updates.

Seriously though, you guys have killed our whole game experience! Each update requires more memory than the one before, now we cant do anything without crashing our iPad. Thanks.

Possibly one of the best mobile flight/space simulators out there. If you enjoy anything to do with flying or space travel, and want something like that on your phone this is it. Excited for what is to come.

It’s an amazing game where you can build, orbit land, and much more. Only so will you realize how good this game is and has been for its time. We love the game, we can build real and even made up rockets, docking the cargo and satilites may be hard at first but it’s cool once you get used to it. Hmmmm wait something’s missing? Asteroids, and other solar systems would be amazing to have, including different views other than 2D. Just an inside of rocket view with all kinds of instruments you can deal with. Do not make it to hard for some younger players though. Allot may not know how to use them.

Even though it says simple it really isnt but complicated instead but still has many customizability and you can build rockets, planes, rovers, and even cars! One thing we would really like is real sized solar system and everything our real world has! May be hard to implement but will be worth it very much to show the vastness of our universe One big thing we really love about you guys is that you put this on the App Store with the same price for both iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS! Unlike other games this is very good way for us to save money if we use it cross platform and we respect you guys for it! Thanks for bringing such a good game to mobile Also because of the vast majority of stuff you can build and the ability to be ported to mobile this shouldnt even be called SimpleRockets Maybe SimpleEngineering lol.

The recent update, absolutely annihilated your game. You destroyed it. The parachute procedure idea is a huge disgrace to the SimpleRockets name. Change the name. It aint simple AT ALL. We dont recommend for anyone. It also has a lot of bugs, constant crashing and lags a ton. We have a 12 pro max. Meaning, there should be NO issues. Yet, there is.

Hello and Im just asking when the next big update.

We love the game and we think it would be even better if you could use a controller.
