King's Corner – Entertainment Game Review
![]()
King's Corner is a Entertainment/Family/Card game from Bitpress, LLC, first launched in 1st February 2011.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 918+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes King's Corner Stand Out
Move over Solitaire, there's a new king of card games! King’s Corner, or Kings in the Corner, is a great game for all ages—easy to pick up and endlessly entertaining. Play on your own with an AI that’s as challenging as you like: one to three opponents can miss moves while you’re still learning and be laser-accurate once you’ve mastered the game. Play with friends online via Game Center or in-person with our pass & play mode that’s all the fun with none of the shuffling and dealing.
King’s Corner 3 is a universal purchase for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, and has been fully optimized for the latest OS versions. As always, it's fully compatible with VoiceOver so players with limited or no vision are welcome.
Here’s how the game works:
King's Corner uses the same basic rules as games like Solitaire—cards are placed in descending order and in alternating colors. A red 9 can be played on a black 10, or a black ace can be placed on a red 2.
The deck is set up with 8 spaces around the deck; four king spaces (marked with a crown) and four unmarked spaces. You'll get a new card at the beginning of every turn, and the goal of the game is to get rid of your cards first by making as many of the following types of moves as possible:
• Add a card to any existing stack
• Move a card or stack in one unmarked space to the bottom of any other card or stack. King stacks don't move, since there's nothing higher than a King.
• Start a new stack if there's an empty space on the table. Only kings can start the corner stacks, but any other card can start a stack in one of the four unmarked spots.
This Entertainment game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:
We downloaded the free version of this app, but it didnt take us long to get the paid version. We love this game! Im blind and can use it very well with VoiceOver. We tried an accessible solitare game, but quickly deleted it in favor of Kings Corner. One aspect of the game which is perhaps not talked about as much is that we can play with our sighted wife. She can see the cards just fine. We did have to train her on how to move the cards with VoiceOver, but she quickly picked that up. Kings corner is just the card game we were looking for. Now, if we want to play a game together on our phone, Kings Corner is one of the choices, and ends up being the choice many times. We do get frustrated when the computer/bots beat us, but it is still fun. And, most of the time, we elect to play again. Thanks for a great game that is fully accessible, and can be played by anyone, regardless of vision. There is one suggestion we have for improving this game. Most of the time when we perform a VoiceOver double tap and hold gesture, or long press in order to move cards from our hand, we get feedback from the destination stack. However, there have been a few times that we slide our finger over where we think the destination stack should be and dont get any audio feedback. Perhaps an option could be added to play a beep or give a slight vibration when the destination stack is reached. This would adress the issue when the stack doesnt speak. This non-speaking doesnt happen all the time, but it is something we have noticed. Other than that small quirk, this is the perfect accessible and addictive cardgame.
We love this card game but we've noticed that it cheats. For example, it sees a red jack of hearts and places a black 10 of spades on the stack. But the next card it places on the same stack is a black 2 of clubs. What!?!?# &?! Where were the other descending cards from 10! It was only holding 4 cards at the beginning of the hand! Our friends have verified thr game makes these HUGE errors. We have verified this at each game difficulty level. Nope they fix it.
We dont know if its only our game because we checked other reviews to see if other players had the same problem. Going through the reviews, we didnt and see other players having the same problem. Our problem is when its the computers turn, for example, it went from red jack all the way to black 4. We were confused. We played a few more times and payed attention and when it was the computers turn it did it again, but with different cards in the wrong order. We love this game and we hope its not a glitch on our end. Please fix the problem.
We all know that computers cant actually perform a truly random task, right? Play this enough and youll start seeing patterns. Whether its the program dumbing down your computerized opponent or stacking your deck to keep your win rate at about 66% or the uncanny odds aces are dealt along with their opposing duces, theres definitely nothing absolutely random about this game. But its still loads of fun. We love the interface too.
Game consistently disconnects through Game Center if the app isnt always in focus. If our screen shuts off while waiting for it to be our turn, disconnect. Answering a text, disconnect. Unfortunately if it doesnt stay connected, the functionality we bought it for doesnt work as intended. The game is fantastically designed otherwise.
We dont know if we win, nothing says win or lose. No directions to go to on the board. How do we play this game? Its weird.
Our favorite part of this app besides the clarity of it, is you are able to add a picture to the back of your card deck and that is awesome.
So glad we found this! The design and interface are super neat, everything flows smooth as can be. Ive tried different types of solitaire games, and this is now our favorite one. Its enjoyable to play, challenging but not frustrating. Way to go, developers! We also appreciate the fair premium price with no ads or IAP. We highly recommend this game.
Love this game. Thank you for telling us that we just need to select the arrow at the top right of the screen to hide the bar.
It took a few minutes for us to understand how the game worked. In the past we had Kings Corner on another device and it showed the entire game on the device. This is set up differently! You have to go one at a time which the game size is larger. We love it! This game and the way it's set up Definitely deserves a A+++++=5 Stars.
Why havent you coordinated with Apple to fix the multiplayer functionality? Reading the reviews, its been broken for 7 years. Wrote to developer and they said its Apple Game Center issue. But its the developers problem if we cant play their game with others as it is advertised in the description.
We learned to play Kings In the Corner about 25 years ago and loved it. We're so glad it's available in the app store.
We love playing this game. However, if playing the computer, we get frustrated when the computer missed a move. We dont want an easy game to win.
No matter how we try to move the cards to the right side of the playing screen the card cannot be moved to the spot we want, this is very frustrating since we paid for this version. This happens in the free version as well and we thought if we paid for it we would eliminate that problem.
Love this game. We cant stop playing. So addictive.
We love this game. It is addictive. We have had it on our phone for several years now, and have always used it on trips. We love this game. When you play with the computer, the computer is a telogen enough to give you a fun game. We would recommend this to anyone who loves to play solitaire. It is excess a bowl with voiceover, too, which makes it special for everyone.
Love this game, we play it every night.
We were hoping to play against our daughter but we have not been able to get the invites to be accepted.
We like it very much, except that it keeps freezing.
The game is well paced but occasionally it sticks and wont let you move.
We downloaded the free app, and bought the app. After a couple of games, it wont let us play. Help please! Love the game, but we would like to be able to play it.
We used to love this game but now it wont connect through Game Center. Now we cant play family that lives in another state.
Like the game but tired of having to shut down and restart anytime drop down to check win streak or winning percentage completely locks up the game.
Went from 5 stars to 1. Do NOT like the update. It changed the look of the cards. We want the original back. We know you worked strenuously to update this but it is not better.
We've tried for months to get a multiplayer game. Not once did we succeed. We asked for help…nothing. Do not waste your $$$.
It amazes us how terribly designed so many card game apps are. We love Kings Corner as a game, but the way its been translated for iPads and iPhones is really stellar, and we can tell that the developer really enjoys their work. Multiplayer works really well for us (though Game Center itself has its own issues, as witnessed from other games we play), and the little details like the witty chat messages and the sound effects add the perfect touch of humor and delight. Keep up the great work.
A very fun but little known card game. We've played this game with our family for years.
We won 4 games in a row and stayed at 80%. Upon winning game #5, we went down to 79%. This version of King's Corner is not relaxing. The aforementioned is only 1 example.
We've been playing this came with real cards since we were a kid so was thrilled to find an app for it. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was the fact that there's never a chance for all 4 kings to be played. We've been playing this particular app for a couple years on multiple devices and not once have we EVER had a game where all 4 kings were available for play. This is just statistically not likely.
We like the game, but it would help if we could look at our cards during our opponent's turn.
Since when does winning 2 out of 2 games make 67%!! Also, must not have many players. You can only play against the computer. When you try to play others, it never comes up with an opponent. We would actually give it zero stars. We wrote an email using the "contact us" option to tell them the percentage calculation is wrong and never heard back.
Love this game! Wondering if an update could consider having your statistics shown on the screen. Say you start out winning 50% of the time, you could always try to improve your statistics when you play. Thanks.
We enjoy playing it. Goes quickly. Helps you concentrate.
Great game, in fact we're gonna play it in real life now with friends using some Bicycle Prestige cards! Only issue is the multiplayer doesn't work in this app! It always just says "Finding players…".
We can't get a single game played, the app completely quits after each player takes one turn, when playing a multiplayer game.
Thank you for making this app so human. We love that it sometimes does not see things and gives us a chance to win too. The sound effects are great and it is pure pleasure to play this game.
We might have given it 5 stars. It's smooth playing, neatly designed, hasn't crashed yet (knock on iPad), and in general, is a pleasant pastime. The only reason we gave it 3 stars was the fact that it's designed to laugh at the player when he/she loses, which is often because of course, it's the computer's environment, designed to please itself. We have at least one other app that does this ridiculing of the player. It doesn't get played very much for that very reason. And really, isn't that just a sign of the programmer's lack of class.
The game itself is great but it's easily noticed that there is a regular pattern of grouping of cards when delt.
Good game. Really would like to see it being turn based with gamecenter.
Great game looks good but been having issues with multi player.
We've played kings corner all the time but now can play by ourselves computer is actually challenging worth the cost.
The app is amazing, but for some reason whenever we invite someone to play through Game Center, or get invited, the app crashes.
Love it. Challenging but winnable. The updates are great, thanks for giving us a running win percentage! The new colors are pretty bright but nice…you get used to them after a few games. We have not experienced any glitches, it's working great for us.
Thanks for the update! Looks great! If you're a fan of this card game, get this app. Seriously.
This app has always been fine, but it's a little buggy with the newest update. If you have more cards than you can see on the available screen, you used to be able to scroll over to access them; that isn't working at the moment.
The app is well thought out and we like the new look, however, it is buggy. Our wife and we played several games and each time had to restart due to the cards disappearing. We could see the back of the opponents cards but on our respective turns we could no longer see our own cards.
We used to like this app until they changed the look. It's too hard on our eyes and we don't like the new look of the cards. We're deleting this one and going with another Kings Corner.
Simply a well designed layout and pleasing to the eye. Game rules exactly as we learned from our great aunt. Varying degrees of difficulty make it easy to learn. Was well worth the .99 and it's rather addictive.
This game sometimes has hesitation with the cards. Every now and then the sound quits. It is annoying. But like the game so we keep playing. It does need to have fixes done.
Love it. We all play every day. Please allow us to play against someone in our home. One question. We have never seen the second black King. Beginning to think it was omitted. Bring back the King and allow to play a shared game on one iPad, in home. Game is definitely addicting. Thanks.
