Amazing game thats still kept up to date, and has an extremely entertaining story, deserves 2 sequels and an animated movie.
A lot of times when we play mystery room games, things are just convoluted for its own sake. But with this game we actually felt like everything made sense to the story and when we finally solved them, it felt so good. We loved every character, and the way you investigate things was so well put together that we honestly dont think we could play another mystery room game without Comparing it to this gem. Thank you for this wonderful game.

Ive purchased and played this game 3 different times. Such a memorable game after many years, it still holds up. Top 3 apps Ive ever played.
We got this game when it was new, and it was so much fun we have been looking for something like it ever since. Im still looking in 2022 and we havent found another thats this good.
A spin-off so good it could easily spawn a new series! Unlike most apps on the iOS store, this one is still fully functional despite its age.
Suspenseful, intriguing, and beautiful. Each character is beautifully written and created with their own flaws. There isnt a single badly written character, case, or storyline in the game. And it's not just about the cases. There's an ongoing mystery within the Mystery Room itself, along with the rest of the Yard. It is more than worth it to spend the $5 on the two case packs, as the cases get more difficult, more intriguing, and more shocking as you progress. Definitely give the Mystery Room a try, because even though it's not your typical Layton-and-Luke puzzle solving adventure, it's still so much fun.

Its good we didnt buy but the free episodes you play are fun and completely different from any other games Ive seen for phones in this sector. Just try it and enjoy.
We were really enjoying it but hopefully the developer could provide official Chinese language update for these, the word choices in the game is too strange for us as who doesnt take English as our first language and that takes us so long for finish reading the text. Its a nice game with no doubt and it should be known by more ppl.

Okay, this game is amazing. The puzzles arent some random knockoffs. They are incredible and sometimes hard. But thats the fun of it. One thousand percent recommended. This is our longest review yet. Its good.
Our mom and we played this game many years ago and it was our favorite game ever. We think about this game all the time, we love all the characters and the mysteries and the way the game is set up. Its perfect, we wish they would still update the game though. We miss playing new levels. Im not kidding if they made more of these with the exact same gameplay and style we would buy it. Please make more of these.
Now we Havent played through the full game, but the stuff Ive played through has been wonderful, its so exiting when youre just about to crack a case, or when youre finding new evidence this game is one of the best you can get on the App Store. We would pay money for this, but the fact thats free is great.
What can we say this game was summat terrific! We loved the northern english used in the game, the dialogue was so well built we could nearly hear the characters speaking to us. The mystery element of the game has been thoroughly and accurately discussed in the other five star ratings, although we were expecting to really see hershel at the ending of the game, and justin's motive along with what really gave Alfendi his placid persona. BUT WHAT MAKES UP FOR THESE SHORTCOMINGS IS THE MUSIC!! The music in layton games is always incredible but this one just takes the cake. It is beautiful and exquisite. It's always a delight working with a Layton, innit.
First things first! 100% love the game, the setting, the characters, the story, and the implied romances! Secondly, Ive replayed this game so many times over the years hoping and praying thered be an update to further the story along! But alas its been seven years and that hasnt happened… We still dearly want a sequel, Id love to see Lucy and Alfendi end up together(all the implied stuff from side characters just makes a storyline Id love to see happen with our interesting prof). Would we still pay for a sequel all these years later? YES! Boy would we! Im sure that many die hard fans of this game that are feasting off of fan fiction as fix for a lack of story continuation would CERTAINLY COME BACK FOR MORE! Maybe there could be paths for how you could interact with the professor to chose how youd like for your relationship with him to go, romantically or platonically. More story/interaction outside of the cases. See some scenery around the town outside the office for more variety in the gameplay. New ideas, with the classic mystery solving, mixed together would make a world Im sure would elate old fans and draw in new ones as well! Im not at all sure if the developers will ever see this but we truly love this game. We were a little girl when this game out and this perfectly fueled our love for mysteries and art. We pursued our love for art and law and have gotten into top law and art colleges! Im turning more towards going into law enforcement and its reality, but as our future draws us in closer we wanted to revisit something that made us think we could do it in the first place! Thank you so much for the game and the memories, but we would oh so selfishly love some more! Lucifendi for life! Thank you developers.

We have to write this here because we need to buy the mysterious puzzle box to write a review on it, but it was a fantastic game on the ds when we played it. All the professor laton game Ive played have been. Ive been waiting for it to come to mobile for a bit now, and am glad you have made it to this market. Once you get to one of the games we dont already own Ill be hard pressed not to buy them.
This game makes you feel like a detective and among all the detective games we had this was the best. We love the story and characters, specially the story about how did Alfendi got his dual personality.
LOVED this game! Always been a Layton fan and Mystery Room had all the charm and mystery of the originals! We really hope Level 5 can turn this into a new series, Lucy and Alfendi are such great characters and Id love to see them delved into.
This game has our favorite style of investigative gameplay: forensic investigation followed by a logic test in the form of questions. It has a very subtle way of putting on the pressure when no ones checking your answers later on. The music and atmosphere and characters are all great, too. If youre a fan of Layton lore, this game is an excellent supplement to the Layton experience. It takes you on all sorts of twists and turns and left our biting our nails over certain conflicts. Wish there were more.
Such a fun game! Each case is self contained (up until the last 2-3), but weaves in a narrative leading up to the end which makes sense. Definitely worth the $3-5 you spend on unlocking all the other cases…we just want more.
We literally never write reviews because we hate it and think its a waste of time but we are writing this review now because we need need NEED more episodes. Please please and we know Im speaking on the behalf of so many people who agree with us that we will beg and grovel and cry for you guys to release more episodes. We literally dont even care if theres a plot like the one now we honestly just love the way the game is set up and the interactive feature of it. Literally our favorite thing ever and so clever. We WILL PAY SO MUCH MONEY FOR MORE EPISODES PLEASE.
We adore professor layton and found that despite the game design being different, this game was totally the same vibe and we really enjoyed it.
The thing we love about this game is well everything. The music is great, the plot brought forward new ways to keep us interested and involved with the characters, and we truly enjoyed trying to connect pieces of evidence to each suspect. Not only that but the characters while a bit archetypical didnt get annoying. The finally itself we felt was satisfying and truly surprised us with where the plot was going.
This game is freaking amazing. Very well thought out puzzles and twists, the expansions are cheap and the storyline will keep you wondering. We dont want it to ever end. Please make more of these!! Ill give you all of our money.
This game may be old, but by god is it amazing! We love the twists, turns and suspense packed into this app! It hooks onto you and makes you wanna play it again and again! Its too good not to make a sequel for! One little thing though, when you accidentally skip past a piece of text, you cant go back but honestly thats okay! Anyway, sequel, please.
Insane story and really challenges your brain.
Unlike the other Layton games that are filled with logic puzzles, the Layton Brothers is a wonderful mystery game that requires you to observe a crime scene, make deductions, and identify a murderer in multiple different case files. If you enjoy mystery detective shows, this app is a must-have.
This is probably our favorite detective/mystery solving game, so much so that it made us start to question our career choice before going to college (detective is a nice title…). PLEASE MAKE A SEQUEL, now that Ive finished the game we dont know what to do with our life. We just think that so many people want it, and because you left yourself the room to do so, it would be an advantageous move for your company Im still holding out for you guys, please think of your fans :).
There are so many things at the end that are left unanswered! Ive played through the game four times and, in all honesty, it is one of the best games Ive ever played. Ever. The cases are worth the money. The visuals are astounding, and the music is memorable! We think wed all pay money for a sequel.
So we just finished this game and all we can say is its completely worth the $3.00 we spent on it. Ill be telling all our friends about it! As someone who has played the old DS Professor Layton games, this game had similar gameplay and was an overall very good experience. The tie-ins were great, and the whole overarching plot behind each of the mysteries (spurred on by the ramblings of Potty Prof) was masterfully written.
Loved the game, got used to all the conversation, really made us think, use logic. Gives you many chances to get it right if you have chosen wrong. Perfect.

We've seen those cases or similar ones on case closed the anime, but its more fun to be involved its detailed and interesting with the storyline we just wish it was a longer game or there was a sequel we enjoyed it that much…… Coming back to our review on this game years later we still reply it from time to time really wish they would make another game like this with a CSI ish murder mystery theme …… To interactively solve a murder it's too fun ……… Please make more.
We seldom go to purchase things but god theres just something about being able to look around the crime scene and solve the murder the way this app presents it that we absolutely love. Of course its not a traditional puzzles and brain teasers kind of Layton game and those who mistake this app for that kind of game most likely leave 4:5 stars but god this might just be even better. Mystery fanfic such as ourselves cant help but give into the thrill ^.
We were introduced to the Prof. Layton series back whenever we had a DS and absolutely loved the games. This game is no different. We love the story that every case gives you and the amazing personalities of all the different characters. This game has so many twists and turns that even when we think we have figured it out, it slaps us right across the face with a plot twist. We had no problem with chucking up only 5 dollars to play more of this amazing game and hope to see a sequel in the future.

It was a great adventure, and the first Layton game Ive ever played, so we guess the others have to be great too… We still kinda wished that some characters didnt die, especially while the final case.
Seriously, this game is one of the better games out there with its well thought out cases and the loveable main characters. We actually felt satisfied yet sad to finish it since we were hooked into this game. Play the game it's worth paying for.
