We always find ourselves coming back to play this game. Very good port and an amazing story.
After we finished the first installment of the series, we rushed to play the start playing the second one. The diabolical box is as good as the curious village, with more puzzles (some are difficult like chess) and new mini games. The end of the story is still a little bit sad but very touching like its predecessor. Overall, we think that playing the Professor Layton game can make you both play and learn at the same time.
This game, while much more difficult, is much more engaging than the first game. If you liked the first game there is no way that you wouldnt like this one.
Just buy the bundle you save so much money and get easily 50 hours of gameplay with the first 3 games.
We loved these beautiful and challenging games back when they were on DS, and am so incredibly excited to play them again! The pictures are so beautifully clear and the puzzles are the same balance of challenge and uniquity! Absolutely love the adaptation.

We loved playing these on our DS, Im so excited to see these being out on the App Store. The hundreds of puzzles, beautiful environments and character designs, and the interesting story make this game worth buying. We hope we get to see more games as well.
This game. Man, this game. What else can we say? This is our second personal favorite Layton game, next to Unwound Future. (Please do that one next, btw) Ive sold every puzzle, finished every mini game, and even still have the original DS copy with us. The story in this game is beyond phenomenal, as expected from you guys. Especially the ending. The wholesome and heartwarming finish to an challenging yet rewarding game. In the future, we might even do a Layton cosplay because he made that much of an impact to us. From, A fellow gentleman.
This is a near perfect port of the original DS game! Our only gripe is the true solution for one of the puzzles near the end isnt the same as the original! It was such a cool way to solve the puzzle and provided one those omg moments thats unforgettable. We wont spoil it for those who have never played the original, but the current solution doesnt even make sense and robs todays players of one of the greatest moments of the Professor Layton series.
We love the Layton series and this entry in particular. Our only gripe is that we have an auditory disorder which causes our nose to bleed when we process noise at certain frequencies. Every sound in this remastered version is led in, unfortunately, with a very jarring sting that triggers our nosebleeds. So we cant listen to the game! But its okay. Everything else is polished and wonderful! Thank you Level-5.
Literally one of our favorite games! Im so happy theyve started bringing them to mobile so we can play them all over again. The puzzles range from quick and easy to long and challenging. However, the actual draw of this game is its story, which is funny and emotional and intriguing and mysterious. Big fan and we are looking forward to more of these games in the future.
Great effort made by the developers to bring such a high quality title to the iOS platform. Even more amazing is that there are no in app purchases, you get the entire game, definitely worth the price.
We loved this game when it came out on the DS. It introduced us to the Professor Layton series, and this is a fantastic port. The story is great, the animation is awesome, and the controls work very well. Definitely a must buy for fans of the series or people who like puzzle driven stories.
