Leap of Fate is a unique blend of isometric perspective, furiously-paced action, and roguelike elements. As one of four technomages hiding in the shadows of New York City, your time has come to confront the Crucible of Fates, a mysterious testing ground that will magically pit you against your own psychological demons. Your journey through the Crucible has you fighting hordes upon hordes of enemies and overcoming deviously laid traps. Your tools are your lightning-fast shadow walk, the powerful glyphs you find, and the magical skills that you upgrade along the way. Your reward for survival? Unspeakable power and a chance to uncover your true fate.

Key Features:

  • Experience an extremely fast and satisfying action game, built around the ability to Shadow Walk
  • Upgrade over a hundred magical skills, through an innovative system of randomly-generated skill trees
  • Discover the profound and intense stories of four characters, told through beautifully illustrated cinematics
  • Explore a modern-day cyberpunk fantasy spanning cybernetics labs, dark alleys and secret societies

The challenge
Combat in Leap of Fate is extremely quick and deadly. Not only will you face more than a hundred different types of enemies, ranging from pit fighters to mad cultists and hidden turrets, but the procedurally generated levels will keep you on your toes at all times. Be warned; once you die, you must restart from the beginning and try again. Hopefully, you’ll have unlocked new permanent upgrades to help you along.

Magic
Within each game session, you will find many opportunities to gain magical power. In addition to the game-altering glyphs you randomly find along the way, there are more than a hundred magical abilities total, spread across the Mobility, Attack and Passive skill trees. The twist in Leap of Fate is that skill trees are randomly shuffled, ensuring that each game differs from the previous one. On one run, you’ll float over pits and disintegrate enemies with Atomic Flash, while in the next, you’ll be wielding a projectile-reflecting technology while calling upon the Greys to abduct your foes for you.

Characters
In Leap of Fate, you play one of four mages, each with their own distinct gameplay style and storyline:

  • Aeon, the shadow mage: Psychologically scarred by years of oppression in a secret society
  • Big Mo, the cyborg technomancer: Wrestling to come to terms with his dual nature
  • Mukai, the spirit channeler: Struggling to regain control of her mind from three powerful entities
  • Rasimov, the rogue occultist: A centuries-old mage on an endless quest to cheat death

They say this place makes you face your own fears, your own demons. But it can also reveal your fate, if you survive the trials.

Hear from the Players – Leap of Fate Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Leap of Fate:

One of the best app games we’ve played. Great mechanics, complex build tree, good storyline.

A really fantastic game that perfectly scratches that rogue like itch. Big recommend.

We could echo many of the sentiments of other positive reviews but one of the biggest plusses to this game to us is that we’ve enjoyed replaying all the characters multiple times as well as resetting all the upgrades and starting the whole thing again from scratch.

Fun to play. Progression of characters, abilities, outfits and back stories are satisfying sticky points for returning to the game.

We have seen this game floating around the App Store for at least 2 yrs, always thought it looked cool. We havent had good luck with twin stick shooters with iPhone usually cause how small this iphone is and yes it does make it more difficult but this game is fantastic its a really well done rogue-lite-like twin stick shooter with gorgeous graphics, magic spells and grenades! What more can you ask for. If you havent tried this game yet, like us, and youre in to punishing games, get it!

First off, we’ve been playing this game for about an hour nonstop and it’s amazing. We love dual-stick shooters and this is among the most beautiful, unique, and polished in all the App Store. We keep thinking Transistor (one of our favorites of all time) in a dual-stick shooter format. This game is so good, they could have asked for a lot more in terms of price; it’s a steal. Our only complaint (and we hope the devs are reading this) is that the camera is a bit too sensitive to every movement. When you’ve got to do a lot of dodging, it can be a bit jarring. We think it could be easily smoothed over in an update (it’s certainly not a deal breaker nor does it take away from gameplay). Anyway, amazing job, Devs. Thank you for making this amazing game and thanks for bringing it to iOS! Update: we still adore this amazing shooter but Id love to see iPhone XR screen compatibility. Please!

We love the arcane feel of the game and the storyline is pretty cool. Improve the game by adding more arcane locations to it.

Excellent game, good atmosphere and lots of depth. Worth your time. Almost a Half Life type feel to the story. Fast paced twin stick action. The tarot card element is really cool. Touch controls work pretty well for us on iPhone XS. Glad we picked this one up.

The controls to aim ranged basic attacks are kind of too sensitive, but literally every other aspect is on point. Nice progression tree, unique characters, and the format of random cards that effect your challenges is pretty slick. And the combat… Oh boy the combat is there.

We wasn’t sure what to think of this when it was first released. Another top/down dual-stick shooter? But… This one is INCREDIBLY well done. Each character takes different strategies to complete the game with, and after unlocking hard mode, there’s quite the challenge. The skill trees are great, and the mix of special abilities and glyphs are awesome. This, along with Neon Chrome, are the only two DS shooters we’ve kept on our device throughout the last few years. Highly recommended.

One of the best mobile games yet!

Not sure why this was never in top 10.

This is a great game to play with we love it and play all the time what we love about this game it is fun and we love this game play all the time we love this game play it.

Hands down ones of the best, most fun rogue-likes we have played in a long time hands down!

This game is amazing, first review we have ever written. The extremely high sensitivity is a bit of a wall for us however, please allow us to be able to adjust it. <3.

It has just the right amount of randomness in its level construction and progress each game that it doesnt seem redundant. Once you have all the characters unlocked is when it really starts to become engaging and the combinations start to pour into your head. Character development, although resets every death, is still in-depth enough to be interesting.

A really enjoyable, nuanced, and replayable game. Worth the price of admission.

Im very surprised this game is not more popular. Its great! Totally worth it! Very polished, and great variety between characters. Highly engaging and addictive.

Great game, but we do hates us them black bars while playing on our X. Dev commented in a game forum that X Support was in place so Im leaving a note here to get his attention. Cant bring myself to rate it down, though. Great game, regardless.

Developer responded to review to let us know game now supports mifi controllers. Looking forward to jumping into play again. Will edit review again after some play. You can tell a lot of love went into this title by the dev team, but it could be great with mfi controller support. Probably won’t play it again until an update is released which allows controller support.

Please please please bring an endless arena style mode.

Gotta make it bigger for iPhone xr and higher.

Its more for a advanced player had good intentions from the start but theres no quick description without dying. Very limited maps. Die instantly and start over; no gradual building of character. Is it us, or is the main narrator is got a huge eyeball for a head the whole time. Need some updating and bugs fixed.

This game is amazing. Brilliantly executed blend of a dual-stick shooter and rouge like. Characters all have different approaches to gameplay with huge branching skill trees and fun back stories. The random nature of missions and unlocks gives the game an incredible amount of replayability as well. Smooth framerate on our Mini 2, extremely polished and gorgeous graphics and effects. A must have. Edit: knocking off stars due to the app not being updated for iPhone X screens despite screenshots that indicate otherwise. Please update!

This is our second time buying Leap of Fate. First on pc, where we wanted to play with a controller but found it awkwardly inclined towards mouse targeting. On mobile it has an unsettling quality to directional input for either movement or firing direction. The touch input has been implemented to surprisingly intuitive effect for special skills, a thing we found irritating when using a controller on a the pc version.

This game constantly crashes. Upon relaunch all progress is lost. The autosave does not kick in for most crashes. Makes gameplay pretty frustrating.

Playing on iPad Pro with 2 gig ram and over 100 gig storage and it still crashes at the worst moment, usually while selecting a card. Sometimes it offers to pick-up where we left off, sometimes not. It seems that much like the chance based game mechanics, that was left up to fate as well. We have learned to like the game itself, but we have no tolerance for bugs that cut us off mid-progress, and then cause us to lose all of our ground- its a rogue within a rogue. Not cool!

15 fps framelocked. Pointlessly. Its almost halfway through 2021. Cmon guys. This is neglected big time!

Just get it. Twin stick shooter with talent tree and weird jump/shift ability. Rogue like. Actually challenging.

This is by far the most we have gotten out of the game for the money we’ve invested. Why can’t all developers by like Clever Play. Geniuses!

Think a rogue-like RTS that feels partway between Shadowrun, Diablo III, Inferno 2, and obviously Hand of Fate. More please!

For months we’ve been searching for a game to occupy our time. We’ve been very disappointed with the gaming industry recently due to all of the pay to play being applied. This game has so much opportunity to force us to pay for amazing features, but does not. Instead it provides the player with an amazing and immersive experience of this crazy and rapid unique dungeon crawler with this insane setting and theme. It’s a really great game and a lot of heart went into it. It’s crazy and super fun. This is the only review we’ve ever written and we don’t think we’ll ever write another one because writing reviews are boring.

A nice surprise. Lots to do and good fun.

Man this game is awesome. At first it was a little unclear what we were supposed to do but after about an hour of playing off and on we realized what was happening. Overall it’s super addictive and has crazy replayability.

We are not normally write comment on app. But we should say this game is very unique and great fun.

A twin stick shooter mixed with rogue-like elements = gaming perfection! From graphics, to controls, to the beautiful UI and the way you interact with the UI is just all too-notch. This is a must own!!

This one is good. If you like twin stick shooters, don’t hesitate!

The hype is true. This is quite possibly the game of the year. Descriptions, screenshots, etc don’t do this game justice. We wholeheartedly recommend this. Wonderful game, highly entertaining and addictive. Very deep, so much to explore. And, challenging! Well worth the money.

They are either shallow or frustrating as can be to us. This game totally blows us away with its depth and production values. Think Shadowrun in real time. Love it and thanks for the hard work!

Story, gameplay, atmosphere, takes you on a journey. Great game.

Great game and worth your time and money. Support premium!

Fantastic title. Blends dual stick shooter with roguelike and makes for an enjoyable experience with excellent depth.

This is amazing give it a try u won’t regret it.

Brilliant! We can’t stop playing. Give this one a try kids you won’t be disappointed. If we had to make a complaint it would be the jerky camera not a deal breaker though… Cheers.

This game is amazing and we’ve literally played hundreds of games from the AppStore since 2008. I’d say this one is easily top 25 for us.

This game is good. Well worth the money.

This game rocks. Just buy it once and you will be playing a long long time.
