A Glimpse into LogiBrain Hitori

Get rid of your paper Hitori, you won’t need it anymore! Thousands of unique puzzles, 5 difficulty levels for beginners and pro players, 7 different grid sizes and everything completely for free and presented to you in a fantastic, approachable and handy format.

LogiBrain Hitori is based on the traditional Japanese number puzzle game where you use your logical reasoning to figure out which numbers to gray out.

The objective is to eliminate numbers by making some squares gray until no row or column has more than one occurrence of a given number (Hitori is Japanese for "Alone"). Additionally, gray cells cannot be adjacent, although they can be diagonal to one another. The remaining numbered cells must be connected to each other.

LogiBrain Hitori includes puzzles in different sizes (5×5, 6×6, 7×7, 8×8, 9×9, 10×10 and 12×12) and different levels of difficulty (very easy ‘1 star’, easy ‘2 stars’, medium ‘3 stars’, hard ‘4 stars’ and very hard ‘5 stars’)

If you love classic puzzle games like Sudoku, Heyawake, Kuromasu, or Binary, then you should definitely try LogiBrain Hitori. Challenge your brain and get ready to spend hours trying to solve all puzzles.

RULES

  1. No duplicate numbers in rows and columns.
  2. Eliminate numbers by marking them in gray.
  3. Gray cells may not be horizontally and vertically adjacent. (diagonally is allowed)
  4. White cells must form a single component and not be isolated.

Each puzzle has exactly one solution, which can be deduced by logical reasoning. No guessing required.

The first tap on the field will add a circle to mark the cell as correct (a circle will appear around the number), a second tap makes the cell gray, a third tap will make the cell white again.

Simple rules, eh? So warm up your brain and get ready for hours of puzzle fun!

Update: Still love the game. Ads are minimum. They NEVER interrupt your game and usually are before you play. We really like this game. Im tempted to look for it so Ill have a book of puzzles when we want to put our phone down. Great game!! This is our first time playing this game and Im addicted! The rules are really easy (they could be worded a little better) and they have different sizes and levels. Great logic game.

We really wanted to learn how to solve Hitori puzzles so we turned to LogiBrain to teach us! Thats how we learned how to do Binary puzzles. It really is a great, well designed app deserving a 5 star rating.

Why, after multiple times of paying is there still advertisements? How many times do we have to buy? We love this game and the way you have it set up, but will no more buy – and after another advertisement will no more waste our money. Update: Still not fixed These reviews must not be read. Guess they just want your money an dont care about anything else.

EDIT 6/22/20: we have written a new review based on the latest version, in which the developer addressed several previous concerns. Thank you! The user interface has an old-school look and feel, but it is highly usable, so no real complaint. The UI is very responsive and clear. We appreciate the option to pay a one-time fee to remove ads, and at $0.99 this is a no-brainer for us. Once you have solved a level, you are able to look over the solved board at your leisure before proceeding to the next level. We wish more games allowed this because we like to celebrate our hard-earned accomplishment for a short time. On the downside, if we hadnt already known how to play Hitori, we dont think we would have been able to figure it out from the directions provided here. Also, we never use hints, but we find that we occasionally hit the Show Solution button by accident. We wish it were not as easy to do that. A very solid effort by a developer who listens to reviews and makes improvements.

We are really enjoying this game and we are glad we decided to give it a try! The only thing we would suggest is a tutorial of some kind. While the rules are not difficult to understand, we actually had to google the directions and examples to figure out how to play the first time. If you dont want to do a tutorial, even providing tips with screenshots (such as the different ways to start a puzzle) would be very helpful!

Not a lot of chills and thrills but we love this game. It is a great logic, deduction game! -Dec 2019.

We Like everything about this game.
