Best game we have ever played in the App Store. One of the best of its kind. Please make more of these.

This game is a true masterpiece of the role playing genre. With many captivating arcs and several different paths of outcome depending on your choices, Lords of Aswick brings you into the Early Middle Ages in a tale that parallels Britains Troubles during the succession crisis of Matilda. We fully recommend this game to anyone who loves fantasy and history.

This is a great read. Though there are quiet a few bugs we made the Kongs daughter queen and won that engagement it then made us a John Doe and when we died it said we went off to the crusades even though we were the high chancellor. Its great just needs some bug fixing.

As some one who has played many of there types of games we must say this is one of the best.

Not the next "Once and Future King" but still enjoyable from start to finish.

We loved this more than Zombie Exodus, and thats a tough one to beat. Lords of Aswick is original and completely immersive. We lost myself in this story and we cant say that much.

We have played almost the entire hosted games catalogue as well as many of their parent/partner publisher choice of games and we can honestly say this game was brilliant. We love it and still replay it just for the story. We always feel bitter sweet regret at every ending knowing a sequel isn’t out. For comparison, I’d compare this game to the simply brilliant Sabres of Infinity, the marvelous Choice of Broadsides, and the stunning Choice of Romance. Truly a superior piece of art. In fact we think we will run through it again right now.

It is a little slow, but later the story gets very game of thrones.

Could be REALLY good so easily…. There seams to be some parts cut/skipped over such as sudden scene jumps. Another instance involves going of to the crusades, which ends without going anywhere. Also, like others have said, a lot of empty space with no relevant choices. Is entertaining though if the above is kept in mind if you like the genre. Have heard a rumor of a sequel which will hopefully fix the above issues.

We love medieval games and this game is great but maybe you could give the option to be female.

This game is awesome. No better way to put it, and way worth our money. We just love anything feudal and this game lets us live our life as a lord. So far the best text based game we have ever played.

It’s too bad there are so few reviews in this game. The story is enticing. We were completely immersed in our character. Better than all the other choice games we have played thus far.

We have to say this is the best choice game we played and we played them all. The fact that this is long,(still not finish) choices are defined and story is good make this one the best of all. Thank you makers!

This is a very long story which is great, definitely worth it and the story is good too with lots of replay value.

We like the concept of the story – the life of an individual from birth to death. Despite the horrific writing at times and many links that just didn’t fit perfectly, the general flow and spirit of the story was very enjoyable and we spent a lazy day living in the past. Battle scenes worked well on our first read. Okay so our wife had her third baby when she was about 60-62 years old! That was weird. We suspected other age related glitches with minor characters but no big deal. If you want a story with a lot of interaction, get Sorcery series. If you like to read about the medieval ages and don’t mind just gently steering the story, then consider this.

First review (after quite a few tries…), ever so first off: Lovely game, pretty neat… However, it is not appreciated that this happened. If you give the choice for a character to be bisexual (or interested in both male and female, as stated in-game) then let that be consistent. Our character shouldn’t be uncomfortable laying with his wife, even if he has laid with a man because he LIKES both. Seriously, please look into this and fix the text surrounding it. There’s no point in having a bisexual character and them not actually being bisexual…

The content and detail of every page is phenomenal, but the choices are too few and far between to keep someone like us entertained. But that’s just our opinion. Also, when you do make a choice in say something involving customization, the choice is not nearly described enough as well as it should be on the next page. Overall, the concept and writing is great but the choices need improvement.

Don’t pay for this. You barely get any choices compared to similar games, and there are grammatical errors and bugs in the game itself (MANY grammatical errors). Not worth the money or time.

Love the long descriptive paragraphs; they really add to the style and value of the game! Even though the choices don’t really affect the story, we still enjoyed playing it. We could see why you didn’t put in both genders and we were a little disappointed about it. Though in the time that the game is set in, being a boy gives opportunities than being a girl. Thanks for creating such an amazing game!

Really enjoyed this. Awesome and long story.

So we’ve read just about every choice based game out there on apps and most of the books too when we were a kid. This app is one of the best ever. You can’t rightly rate anything other then 5 stars on this app. It’s a long story but not to complex. YOU CAN BUILD element of YOUR OWN TOWN (this so need to be in the writers next choice game). The ending are fantastic. Like anything you can nit-pick on small details or complain about what you would have done but the reality is this is a solid game if your a smarty over age 13.

This was an awesome game. One of our favorites. And then at the end (Spoiler!) it mentions the 5th generation. Does that mean a sequel? We hope so. If it doesn’t, it needs to! Overall, awesome story!

This game is very well written and though yes at the beginning it may seem a drag stick with it definitely the longest COG we have played and now also one of our favorites defiantly worth the 3 bucks we spent.

Ok this is by far the longest textpost game we have ever played. We really liked the story and what you could do it but the interaction felt a little weak. Story You start out as a squire to sir Roderick you then get options to chose your skills and become a knight. After becoming a knight it is quite linear. We wish you could’ve became a hedge knight or killed the king secretly or something but nope. This is definitely one of our favorite textpost games Ever. If you are a fan of textpost you would throughly enjoy this!

This game was amazing. We have played every choice altering game and found this one to be the best. It is long it is unique, your choices actually matter long term, there is romance and action and drama! It lacks for nothing! Definitely get this game!

We love this game, we’ve played it over probably more then ten times because we are just crazy like that. The detail, the politics, the ability to (SPOILER) choose your own banner? Awesome! It shows so much promise and potential. And though we mean promise in the most positive of lights, potential means in this context it is not as correct or upstanding as it definitely could be. We are part of a Future Soldier Club and what our captain always says is that ‘[we] have to aim to have no potential’ meaning we have to be perfect every time, without fail. So if you could update this- and SCREW the potential… And make it so there was more impact to your choices, this Game would be the most intricate work of art you could imagine to create with words.

Lords of Aswick is a great game. Easily one of the best on Hosted Games and CoG. The length of the game is definitely a plus as it has hours of play time. The only problem we encountered was some spelling errors. Other than that, great game.

We feel like we’re missing something or the game is missing something. We find the same endings multiple times.

Lengthy game. Not as many decisions to be made but we felt like they were more important. One of our favorites.

This is a well written story but it’s tiring to constantly hit the "Next" button. Could have gone so many directions…. Not much "choice."

As a devoted customer of text-based game studios (especially Hosted and Choice of), this new offering by Hosted was by far the most descriptive piece of work we’ve ever played. Although vivid imagery is all well and good, there is a line where it interferes with the pace of the story. Honestly, we were a little disappointed in the weakness of interaction as compared to that of the Tin Star per se. Overall, still a nice effort.

Overall we enjoyed the story and writing style, however it gets repetitive after three or four Playthroughs. We would still recommend this game to anyone because of the lengthy story. However do not expect much in terms of replay value.

One of the best games released honestly we were fantastic we noticed some very minor grammar and spelling errors but it was a problem this game is a must play for anyone interested in chose you own adventures.

We don’t often do reviews, but when we do, it’s because the game deserves it. This game is one such example. There were instances that we think could have been better, however the length and story made up for it in our opinion.

This is our first review so sorry if it’s sloppy our only con about this game is that it can take a couple of pages to make a decision but other than that this is by far one of the greatest RPG/simulation games we’ve ever played on the AppStore As soon as you open up the app and see some of the options such as being able to see what countrys there are and there geography and being able to find out more of the concepts of the game and can clearly see they’ve done there research but the best part is as soon as you start the game you feel so immersed in the world and every division you make matter. It has multiple options and different outcomes for everything which is why this game is one of our favorites and this game is long so but extremely fleshed out and they really did an amazing job so one again an amazing game. 10/10 One of the best.

We found this game to be very entertaining. The setting was good, the story was engaging and there is a fair amount of replay, enough for at least 2-3 play throughout in one sitting. Our only complaints are that for such a long story there is relatively little interaction on the readers part and we think the author would have greatly benefited from a proof reader as there is a fair amount of spelling and grammatical errors. Overall though we would recommend this game.

The game has good historical flavor and sense of agency when playing the protagonist. However, it needs some proof-reading and, what was more frustrating for us, had a few instances of looped gameplay. For example, when we are choosing our constable in Chapter IV, the game describes for us a great veteran option to choose. When we try to choose the option, however, we loop back to the prior scene. Very frustrating.

This game is definitely worth the money, and it kinda reminds us of A Game Of Thrones! The characters were a bit flat and under devolved, and there wasn’t any real romance as far as we can tell, but we suppose that fits the theme.

This was clearly deeply researched and thoughtfully made, with a detailed, immersive historical flavor, but there were near-constant random tense changes, from past to present to past to present, often within the same paragraph. It was distracting. Tense would often change six or seven times within the same scene–and we mean actions that were happening in the "present" of the story sometimes got present tense and sometimes past tense, at random. The other issue was that there was very little interactivity for long stretches of the story. I’d frequently have to flip through 10 or more pages of story before getting any kind of involvement in making a choice, even a minor one. This is a creative decision, we guess, but it makes the story very dry and isn’t what we expect from a choice game. But please fix at least one of these two problems (I guess the tense might be easier)! We enjoyed the story otherwise. If it were more of a choice-driven game, the tense issue would be forgivable because I’d be more involved in the narrative, and if the tenses were fixed, the lack of choice would be more forgivable, but these two major problems in combination meant that we were forced to sit and read long tracts of a novel that hadn’t been carefully proofread, which… Isn’t that fun.

First and foremost, we will give credit to the author for the detail of the research invested into this story. However, that is where our praise ends. Overall it lacked intensity, fervor; it felt like a complacent story of a knight lacking any combat. We have invested approximately 3 hours into the game this far and find it taxing to continue. The story has only a focus on the politics and we feel there is some ambiguity as to what this game actually is on first glance, so allow us to enlighten: It is droll work of a Knights story lacking any combat scenes what-so-ever. The only good thing about it is the amount of research wasted on such a futile endeavor.
