What Makes Luna Story (nonogram) Stand Out

Why don’t you travel to a sentimental and beautiful story hidden in the puzzle?

This is a story that has come down since long ago.
It is said a cursed moon keeper was keeping the flower and tree alone that bloomed in a blue crescent moon that emerged in the night sky from time to time.
As if he was looking forward to something eagerly for a very long time….
The fact there was a beautiful castle called ‘Nobilrunia’ here longer ago has now become a forgotten story only the moon keeper remembers.
Then one day, the flowers in the moon began withering.
Please help the moon keeper.
Please find the abundant figure that used to be.

Nonograms are also well-known as griddlers, hanjie, picross, pictocross or kakuro. These are classic Japanese crosswords with hidden pictures. Those who have ever heard about them usually know the rules.

Community Insight:

Good time killer and puzzle game. The fairytale story is an added bonus that pushes you to want to finish each stage so you can see what happens next.

Its a good balance of tricky and fun. We wish there was more.

We had no idea we were playing an inferior version of this game until this year. We had no idea there were not one, but FOUR epilogue episodes.

We paid once for no ads and now its just a beautiful game with endless retries and tips. No paying for cones and energy constantly like Crimo, or harsh losses. Very fun and the art is gorgeous.

Im a big fan of nonogram and logic games in general, and Ill actively shout from the roof top that this genre of puzzles is underutilized first off, and second, they typically have a million ads when they ARE actually pretty fun. This is the first newish app Ive found that does everything right, as far as all of the above goes. Its fun, addictive, and the ads happen when you THINK they will, but theyre pretty skippable for the most part (at least in our experience). We literally paid for the ad free version because we wanted to support the developers of this game for doing such a good job with it because the ads in this game are minimal and usually pretty quick to skip. We hope this company keeps up exactly what theyre doing.

Perfectly intuitive interface, cute story, progressively harder without having to spend and spend and spend. We got MONTHS of enjoyment out of the $7 we spent to get rid of ads. We really liked that in a puzzle, the line of numbers would grey out when the line was filled with the right number of blocks but that it didnt tell you if youd gotten it right. Ive gotten rid of other monogram games that tell you in the line is right or wrong. We want to have to get it right without the app telling us the answer. The best monogram app in the App Store.

We just started but Im excited to see the flowers bloom and see the big nonogram pictures.

No other picross game matches up to this one. The music and the aesthetics are pleasing. We're currently going through all the puzzles a second time.

The game is very relaxing. The perfect amount of ads too.. We hate ad loaded games but this one feels comfortable.

This game is wonderful for both stimulating the brain and relaxing it, and you can feel the passion put into this.

We loved this game. It kept us entertained for 9 months while we worked through the puzzles. It must be translated from another language because some of the phrasing is a little strange, but everything is understandable. The settings are clear and easy to work with. The nonograms are straightforward and you can build your skills to complete harder levels. We also really loved the music that played.

We love so much about this game. You can switch between having lives or no lives, crossing things out incorrectly doesnt lose you a life, theres so many levels that you can freely choose from, and the game is overall very aesthetically pleasing. We love it <3.

We sunk countless hours into this game. Never played a nonogram before and we were highly impressed. Played to completion.

We love everything about this game. It is fun, visually pleasing, and the first game we actually play with the volume on. The music is nice and relaxing, and if we could use it as a sleep track, we totally would.

Its a good game, but you would get pretty bored easily. We also wish they can let you change the music and let you zoom in. Otherwise its pretty good.

Very simple yet elegant UI is very smooth has 2 Ends of game modes that are both very fun.

Played this game for years and honestly so sad we finished it. Its like what do we do now.

We love the soothing palette and simplicity of the game play. The music and colors are really soft and calming. The characters make us smile. The only error or exception is that the story is very badly translated.

The images get clearer as they get bigger and more challenging. Love the colors.

We loved this game start to finish. The music is lovely and calming, the puzzles have a good range of difficulty, and we got so much time out of it. The ads were also non intrusive and never took away from our experience. This game has been part of our bedtime ritual for months and the final story was such a lovely send off. Cant wait to play the next one.

The controls in this nonagram game make it a head above others we've tried.

Clear story and the puzzles are just the right amount of difficulty.

Played this game a few times and we really enjoy how cute the photos/images are.

The puzzles are so much fun and the music and aesthetic are so relaxing. We love the story aspect to it too.

We've loved this ever since it came out. Soothing music, big and small monograms to work on, it's all wonderful and we can't believe it's free. Thank you for making this.

Took us about two months to finish this game.l have absolutely fallen In love with it.it was our first time ever playing a game like this and this one is probably the best one you could ever get. Excited to see what they come out with next.<3.

Lovely when we want something relaxing and incredibly satisfying. Wish there werent ads but absolutely worth it and you can skip them thankfully. We would happily pay for this app.

We found the game to be relaxing with both the music and the colors. We appreciate the straightforward mechanics for filling in the tiles too. Very pleasant game overall.

This is a great game. Its fun and you can choose to stay away from ads.

Ive played this game for several years and just finished it. It was very charming.

Very good. Only issue is that on the 20 levels the boxes & numbers get a bit small. Plus the harp in the fourth normal album (page 2 puzzle 6) is actually a Greek lyre.

We have been looking for a nanogram app that we enjoy. We really like this one. We wish it would rotate when we rotate our iPad. A landscape view would be awesome.

Like it a lot but cant understand someone of the pixel art.

We recently downloaded this game and everything is so nice. The color palette, storyline, effects, etc are great… Our only problem is that the app glitches sometimes and we can't save our work before we're kicked out of the app.

Game has an interesting twist compared to other nonograms: it fills in the color of blocks, but plays like a black/white version where you only worry about whether a block is filled or not. Problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to zoom in on the puzzle. Once you get past the small, easy puzzles, the big ones are inconvenient to fill out. Your fat fingers will constantly touch the wrong square. They provide a mechanic for moving the selected square via a pseudo D-pad, but this is slow and inefficient. Would be a higher rating if a zoom option was added. Otherwise, only get this if you have an iPad and stylus.

Too many ads but so fun and cute.

The puzzle experience itself is good, the puzzles are well-made and there's a good difficulty curve. We're not a fan of color nonograms, so we like how this splits the difference with auto-coloring in pixels. However, we are experiencing a terrible lag spike after we have the app open for about 5 minutes. We're using iOS 26 on an iPhone 11, and it happens every time. The lack of saving puzzles doesn't help when we have to restart the app. If this was fixed, easy 5 stars.

We think the game is really aesthetically pleasing, but we found that there are some errors. For example a row will say three but there is really only two and we lose a heart because we hit three.

Some good features but im going to play this game with our wifi off.

We have to force close the app in order to make it start working properly again.

Ive been playing this off and on for a while. Its a fairly low-effort nonogram game, but mostly inoffensive enough to kill time while waiting for a bus or something. Theres a story mode (Big mode) where you make pictures from a storybook, and it tells you a fairy tale like something you might tell to a 4-year-old to get them to bed. When you finish a full panel in Big mode, it shows you a non-pixelized version of the picture you just finished, which is a decent idea, but in practice it just shows how little effort went into this game. All the art is really simple vector images of repetitive nonsense. Nearly all the time you spend in this game will be on making 5-pointed stars on a black background. Some of the puzzles are difficult, and cant really be played by anyone less than age 8 or so, but thats a huge problem when the art and story arent age-appropriate for a child older than 5. The most unforgivable thing about this game, however, is that several of the puzzles in Big mode do not have unique solutions. Usually this is pretty easy to spot, as youll have a clear x-wing formation, but we recently finished one that had 4 different valid solutions, and the first point of ambiguity was far enough from the end that we couldnt be sure without just making random guesses.

Great game, but the ads are inundating. But when we tried we purchase the ad-free the app kept denying both our debit card and apple payment. Ill find another app.

Newest update added banner ads at the bottom of the screen and more frequent pop up ads. Really kills the vibe of a relaxing disconnect when theres ads permanently at the bottom and a pop up every 10 mins.

Even when it doesn't crash, the interface lags behind pencil taps and drags. We might be able to get past that, but with the frequent lockups and then lack of landscape mode, it's just not worth pursuing. Deleted from iPad.

Very fun! Takes a lot of concentration! So far its not asking for money. Thank you.

We LOVE luna story. This game is so addicting and so fun. We were really worried Id lose all our progress when we got a new phone but theres something called data save and load which saved our data onto our new phone. Get it.

We started out playing a game like this called sky castle and we couldnt find a similar format once we finished it until we discovered this app. We really enjoy the interface, and the aesthetics. The ads arent too frequent either which is a perk, others have ads after every level. This is among the elite in nonogram games in our opinion.

Was looking for a cute and chill picross game and this one blew our expectations out of the water. Very genuinely enjoyable for a free game. Ads only appear at the bottom and after you finish a puzzle (and optionally if you watch an ad for an additional life/heart), but otherwise not intrusive to the experience.

This is a really good game, and the only downside would be all the ads.

Which might be our own fault. We love this game and am horrible at it, we wish there was an option to run and rolls for longer in one go instead of painful burst after every loss. We would happily pay to limit the ad rolls while we're actively failing at this.
