YouRiding – Surf and Bodyboard Reviews

Awesome concept. Only things they need to work on is having the controls less sticky and a little more flowy on the manuevers. Also some texture for the waves.

Love the make your own wave but would like to see an option to add different scenery such as rocks or a pier! Would make it so good!

We really wish had a drop knee and stand up boogie board option for this game. Other than that really great game.

Let us start off by saying this is worth $6 compared to every other surfing game on the App Store. Its simple and the graphics are impressive. Mindlessly surfing different waves is fun and an easy way to kill time. The wave creator is a great addition. A few things that could be improved. The menu buttons and layout could be enlarged and simplified. There also could be more gear unlocked through challenges (i.e. Different boards, fins, etc.) and waves to free surf. Finally we wish they added the Journey which the older versions on the computer used to have. Overall Im very happy with spending $6 to play this game. Hopefully more people join so the multiplayer can have more heats.

From some one who used to play the og computer game and the og version of the journey dont buy it. The keys are extremely sticky and arent sensitive enough. We personally dont find it fun at all. This doesnt compare to the old games at all and isnt worth the $5.99.

We loved this game back in the day. $6 was fine for it hopefully they can use it to grow and improve. Glad its back. The making your own waves feature is really cool and actually pretty impressive. The controls could use a little work theyre a tad sticky. Getting stuck in the lip a lot. Almost feels like the buttons should be slightly more sensitive. The graphics are not too bad but could used a little bit of work. The journey mode would be really nice to bring back. And maybe even a couple more maneuvers like an alley-oop or a more vertical turn than just the roller, vertical fins out, or even just some different types of carves so you can put yourself in better positions. Lots of potential.

This game is super sick but it would be cool to add the original journey levels into it somehow. We like the free surf but its fun doing levels too.

We love the concept and the sort-of realistic-ish graphics but it feels so underdeveloped. The controls to surf is by directional arrows and makes for a very unresponsive feeling. Should you buy it? Id wait until its more functional. We hate to be a critic here but we WANT to see where this game goes, it has plenty of potential.

Our short answer: no. Longer answer: the older version of this game used to amazing. We absolutely loved playing for the barrel views. That was so awesome. We just redownloaded this app now, and payed 5.99 just to give it a shot. After just a few mins we know we want a refund and wont open the app again. The physics simply arent good, the pov is alright, but the whole playability of the game isnt fluent. Its not smooth. It takes unnecessary time after each wave to load your score and such, and you have to slowly switch to a better pov to have the view you want. We hope our paying for this app doesnt go to waste. We hope the money can go towards some better development. Is it really so hard to get an app with beautiful wave physics? Go check out robbie crawfords animated work, hed be a great person to hire for surf / wave app development. A refund would be awesome, because genuinely after just 3 mins we can for sure say we wont use this app again unless theres big changes. Please rate this review if you see it, it might help the app developers see it. Us ocean enthusiasts, those of us who love and appreciate the natural beauty of a simple clean barrel and nice lighting, would so so so much appreciate getting to have an app where thats accessible and enjoyable.

Its a bit too complicated and too many buttons on the screen, doesnt feel as natural or nice as true surf. Save money, buy true surf.

The wave editor and wave graphics are incredible! If there was more of a joystick or swipe control like true surf we think this game would be perfect.

The Journey was our favorite game. So glad to see YouRiding make a comeback. Love the POV in the barrel.
