The game itself is great. The match 3 aspect and the deck building. We really like putting together the champions, spells, supports that we think are cool. But the various pvp events are messed up. You get lumped in w whales who have cards that clear the match board over and over in cycles that you just have to sit and wait for the game to finally say you lose. That part isnt fun.
All the lands that say convert X gems to your planeswalkers color(s) arent converting to the proper colors no matter if its single color or not. Card draw seems to be weird in tournaments we pay crystals for. They dont draw the card that help us get the objectives, even after 20 turns.
This game is one that we like to play mindlessly. Its fun when youre playing the story mode, and the solo events. As soon as you start playing multiplayer though (worse at higher tiers) youll run into decks that end up in loops that can last waaaay too long. We just quit out of a match where we waited more than 5 minutes for a single turn to end multiple times, drawing seemingly endless cards and creating infinite mana. It makes playing the multiplayer areas exhausting, but its where most of the content is. Honestly, its probably the only reason we’ve refused to spend any actual money on this app.
Sort of need to add a manual stop option for infinite loops and have the infinite loop program be better. Also during some infinite loops not all effects that should be triggered happen. Example of infinite loop that doesnt trigger all effects and hasnt been triggering the infinite loop stop programming 1) Tatyova, Steward of Tides 2) Tomik, Distinguished Advokist 3) Mirrorpool 4) With any other land support on the field Will generate an infinite loop of summoning forest tokens and creating mirrorpool Card Effects that should be triggered but werent 1) Underhanded Designs 2) Nurturing Presence 3) Valor in Akros.
We’ve played this game for years. How have we not reviewed it already? Its remarkably, impressively deep for a F2P game. Not as deep as its namesake, but still, the different kinds of decks you can build, the kind of combos you can find, is really impressive. And the bulk of the gameplay (once you get past the story mode which is effectively a tutorial) is PvP, so you get to see the cool decks everyone else came up with too. One star off for two reasons: One is that there are some annoying glitches that they seem not to want to fix, most notably the fact that some older cards dont behave correctly around newer ones. (Old destroy a support cards not hitting Vanguards because they were coded before Vanguards existed, for instance). The other is that the previous review Im seeing is right. There is a pay to win component. Mythic and Masterpiece cards are straight-up better than other cards, and theyre hard to get for free. We’ve never paid a penny, and we have a few, but sometimes we get destroyed by a deck that is clearly someone who spent a bunch of money.
We’ve always loved PQ since Nintendo DS days Melded with MtG is marvelous Recently tho the cat Plainswalker, Ajani Invigorate leadership gets used by some and l think its overpowered and kinda game breaking.
None of the cards are triggering correctly. We dont gain mana when we should, spells and support cards do nothing, and when we go to use our abilities, it freezes. We used to play a lot on a different account but now nothing is working correctly and we dont see any updates.
Big fan of OG magic on console. Made the live card game much quicker. This a fantastic take on old concept with matching game.
We love this game, it got us into MtG and we play it every day. We need help because all of a sudden we are locked out of the game. We cant sign in through Facebook because we keep getting an error message that Facebook login is unavailable for the app. We’ve quit both apps and still getting the same message. Please tell us how to rectify this, thank you.
Yet again after an update logins are broken. This time the Facebook login verification is unavailable at this time you tell us that linking to Facebook prevents account loss and then this happens please fix.
You absolutely CAN play the gameand play it wellfor free. Anyone saying otherwise really just isnt very good at it or just expects no challenge. The gameplay is simple and fluid, the strategies varied. You WILL face bugs and crashes. You WILL have days that feel as if every opponent has the nastiest deck you could face. You WILL want to give up. We promise it gets better. Our advice is this: ask for advice in online forums, and take it all. Then work out what your style of play is and use the advice that suits it best. Build a strategy for yourself so you can tell everyone else, including us, that we are full of it because you know yourself best.

Implementation of cards into a match three is cleverly done. An addictive game that is not overly Pay to win.
This game is 4 plus 4 with trample.
We’ve played daily for the past 6 years. Until today. Unfortunately we cant now, because our iPhone doesnt support iOS 16.? Our phone is fully updated, but the game cant be installed, because of some iOS change. We wish there was a heads up from Octogon/D3 but alas Hopefully its only temporary.
We’ve been playing this game for a very long time on our Iphone 6s. We reached level 189 and now it tells us that we need to buy a new Iphone to play! Really??? What am we supposed to do now, sell our account? No, because that would violate the terms of service. So we just dont get to play because Im not buying a new Iphone for a game. Lame devs, real lame!
It now takes five minutes to load, and after you start an event (and they have your buy-in) it freezes. We contacted support, who are generally excellent, and they said we needed to update our OS. Im sorry, what? We’ve probably got over a hundred dollars sunk in this game already maybe make it compatible with our system so we dont have to play Apples stupid battery life game? Caveat emptor.
After playing this game regularly for months at a time for years now, as of two days ago with no fanfare and no warning, they’ve raised the minimum firmware version so our phone can no longer play the game. Thanks!
This is clearly rigged to force you into paying money. Tried giving this a chance as we like the MTG universe, but there are points where no amount of strategy can account for the AI miraculously getting massive chain matches when you keep seeing threes. Not fun and not a good use of our time. Deleted.

We love classic mtg and we love wizards of the coast. Id even love to be an artist there one day. We’ve been playing PQ on and off for a couple years. The progression is gruelingly slow. Even if you drop a couple bucks on the game it never seems like its quite worth it. And the pvp could be worked on. Plz for the love of god work on the pvp.
Have enjoyed the game, but once the computer is losing, while matching gems, the game will change the colors mid stride. The computer will destroy gems that dont even match foritself (not always). Also, the app will almost always match your plainswalker with a higher level instead of same level. If you pay for this game, youre only wasting your money.
We’ve been playing this game for almost two years. It was (and still can be) a very enjoyable game. However, the ability for other OS users to be able to cheat without consequence is a huge problem. We’ve emailed the game creators, the app admin, anyone that we thought would listen and do something about the wide-spread cheating, but nothing. They only care about money. They possess ZERO integrity and seem unwilling to do the right thing. A simple fix would be to allow only iOS players to play each order, and everyone else to play against each other. You cannot hack an iPhone to cheat- but you can any other mobile OS, especially Android. Short of taking them to court to recover our hundreds of dollars we’ve spent on this game, we have no recourse of holding them accountable. And neither will you.
We would give this game a zero stars if it was possible. A crime against humanity. A public apology for this dumpster fire is only the beginning of what is needed to start to make amends for this failed abolition. EA considered this fecal stain as an example of how to monetize games but realized it was actually a crime and created the Battle Front 2 model instead. The RNG is so blatantly weighted in favor of the AI its pathetic and disgusting. The AI will always have multiple advantages in matches available. The AI will almost always get multiple follow on or cascading matches each round. The AI will be given multiple extra turns each round. The game will change matches mid drop to ensure that the player does not get a cascade or follow on. The programing is so jancky and poorly optimized that you can actually watch the game change gem colors as it happens. Customer Service is nothing more than a basic bot that has 2-3 responses that will simply close out your request without forwarding it or taking any action to make corrections or changes. Avoid this game like a plague infected hooker.
We used to love this game but now it is nearly impossible to win without spending money. AI gem falls are ridiculous and their decks are so stacked that matches are over in just a few rounds. They have cards that, again, are impossible to get without spending money. Oh and whats up with opponents having life 3 times the amount of our highest planeswalkers? We dont have levels higher than 60 so why do they? Seems really unbalanced. We stopped playing for a while and thought it would get fixed.

This app has come a long way, its still a bit wonky but is actually enjoyable. We do wish they could fix the daily login reward tracker though. Just logged in at 12:51am December 1st only to be shown Id somehow missed a day of December. Like where is the server? When should we be logging in if not as soon as the date changes?!
The ONLY game ever that you can play and not spend a penny. It takes time but so worth it. See you out there!

Classic always smooth gameplay and keeps it well with all the artwork also good community continuously coming out with new card.
We do think the game is fun but we would still like to see some things added. Like the choosing of a lower tier if you are struggling in an event. We’ve recently tried the jump start event. We felt at first it was going to be an ok event. Until we fought the green plainswalker in it. We look everywhere on how he got his creatures up so fast in power and how he got to keep hexproof on that same creature and found nothing. That runaway creature caused us to loose the battle very early into the battle. We see no time limit on when we can try again. We want the final reward but we dont see any way to get it if we keep having to fight this guy with what feels like an unfair deck.
This game has a major game play bug that benefits the people who pour money into the game. Until they fix the loop problem and limit the # of cards allowed to be played per turn, this game is not worth wasting your time and effort on.
We’ve played Magic since its first cards were printed. Theres nothing like the open-end deck building, leading to ultimate creativity for the game playing. In the same vein as the original, this app allows players to endlessly create decks and find others at their similar level to play with. A brilliant adaption.
Pretty much. Two of our favorite game types with just the right amount of brain power and time/money sink: whatever we want at the moment. Pretty faithful to MTG while staying true to the gem-style matching genre. In content as well as mechanics, and it meshes well. Im hooked and we cant stop starin.
We have been playing this game for a long time and am still playing regularly. We like all the new cards that get introduced. Our favorite was the Dungeons and Dragons set. The biggest area that can be improved is the planeswalker part. More choices and new variety will make this a better game.
The Wizards of the Coast employees are demanding others like Hasbro to get political and be more divisive. This is a poor bullying tactic to get others to fall into your political view points only. We will not support a company like WoC to do this.
It has some flaws, but they are so grossly outweighed by the enjoyment we have every day, we cant really complain. For years, we’ve enjoyed playing this puzzle version of MTG. Dunno, its a great game.
So we absolutely love this game. Our husband got us hooked on it. The Gameplay mechanics, plainswalkers, and card sets are awesome. Heres our only qualm or qualms with the game: there needs to be more added to story mode. All there is is origins and the eldrazi storyline. Im sorry, Id like to play all the other storylines as well instead of just having card packs released for them. Like for instance Id love to see story modes for shadows over innistrad and theros and all the others. The training section is just that, its a training area. No lore or anything. Granted you can go online for lore. Id want the other story missions to play out like the origins section. A lot of people in the community have already beaten the story content and like myself, have to rely on events for content. So yeah, love the game and stuff.
After the new update, we could not get the reward for training. And we also can not move on on the story mode.
How is it that we can try playing 8 or more games in a row only to get booted out every single time in the middle of a match?? Though we do like the game, we are frustrated and about to delete it completely. There is absolutely no reason we shouldnt be able to successfully complete one game in a 24 hour period!! Why is it locking up & booting us when we have the latest update? We are giving it until this weekend… If it doesnt perform better, we are deleting.
We have been playing over four years. The concept and mechanics of this game is one of the very best we have seen for the mobile format. All the elements are there to be the best in class. But the constant bugs and crashes which seem to rarely get better and more often worse with each patch make us constantly want to quit this game. The fact that hangs and crashes always mean an automatic loss make them way more frustrating. And more and more they put out unbalanced we win cards to chase the whales.
The game is great and a lot of strategy, our only issue is everyday we have to delete the app and then re download it for it to work.
The game is absolutely great we love playing we’ve noticed recently though that the game has not been opening on our phone the app seems to be having some issues can you please fix it.
Not sure what to do. But after installing and seeing the splash screen the app crashes and wont launch. Bummer cause we like the game but too lazy to find their support.
