Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We highly recommend this app. It has the written rules for players so everyone can play with the same set of rules.

We learned how to play mahjong playing this app. We love the challenges of trying to complete certain set of hands for higher points and how the difficulty varies every match. We find the instructions super helpful and easy to comprehend.

The game was amazing for many years. This has been on our phone, since it came out. Recently, they have started to place ads in the game (we are all for revenue streams). This issue is with ad placement in-game. The ad blocks another players tiles, effectively ruining the game. (Yes we have submitted feed back and no, this did not resolve the issue. Please let us know when it is fixed.

Ive been playing for months on our 12.5 iPad with no problems. Now when we tap on the game icon it doesnt open. Ive deleted app and reinstalled several times, and clean out our cache. Still no game. We noted a upgrade a few days ago; is this why we cant get game?? Please help. We miss the game.

Hi, we know Chinese and English, the reason why the computers are saying things in Chinese, its because the translations will make no sense when translating some, some would make sense, some will not. Its also because the game isnt translated, just like some other games. Im sure that people that dont speak Chinese wouldnt understand the numbers on some tiles. = 1 = 2 = 3 = 4 = 5 = 6 = 7 = 8 = 9 we hope this helped, its not 100% accurate (except the translations, youll know the 5 even if it doesnt look the same) if you dont know how to play this game, you search up tutorials online. Have fun.

This app is awesome!!! And we like it lol:).

We love this app! Our only request is to have a paid version to be able to get rid of the ad at the top of the screen. We would definitely pay to have no ads. Thanks for making such a great app.

Hi, we love this game but we think we got a mis-score. The hand was deemed 13 orphans. This was the hand. Characters: 2,2,5,6,8,8 Bones: 2,4,5,6,9 Dots: 1,8 One west wind.

Great game overall. The issue is that several times the game cheats by only having three tiles (rather than four) when holding two pairs drawing for one. Yep, screenshotted. It also cheats in that two of the bots generally are not trying to win, but keeping the human player from winning, yep, screenshots galore. Finally, the cheating by the AI intensifies once the human player passes 61% winning pct. This is. Orraborated by several of our Chinese friends who were raised on majiang.

Everyhting about this app except music is awesome. It has 3 languages supported, the app doesnt slow your battery or crash because it runs pretty light, it explains scoring for different hands, has a nice style, has funny voices that call the tiles names as theyre played, etc. The only thing is we cant play background music while using this app (the app will stop sounds like Apple Music or Spotify or Youtube), and theres no built-in background music.

You cant really compare this app to any other because of how rare this game is outside of china. But its a good app nonetheless. Our only complaint is that its too easy to win, Im not even that good at mahjong but we win about half the time. Would like to see adjustable difficulty.

For it doesnt let you play correctly, when you have a set it doesnt let you set sometimes even if you have all 3 of a kind or in a row.

Overall the game is informative, fun with different rooms to play with. Unfortunately the TRI PEAK SOLITAIRE AD has no icon to close it . We have to shut off our IPAD in order to get back to the game site without losing our points, game name . We learned the hard way that if we delete the app and download again ,we have start from the beginning.

Who wants to play a game where most of the time you wont win. The player should have some % advantage.

Fun game but with the constant ads, we just deleted it.

Does this app feature the Chinese version or the American version or both.

Great game play, hooked big time! Would give 5 stars if we could turn flowers off completely, and if the scoring. Also would like an option where the dealer retains upon winning. Those are SMALL complaints considering how well the rest of the game is done.

Deleted within a minute. So slow and choppy.

We enjoyed this game immensely. Have been playing for a long time and cumulated close to 1.5 million points. We played it with the sound off which is more enjoyable than with the sound on. We have almost complete understanding of all the playing terms with the exception of the the term not really sure how to achieve that although this term appeared on several of our winning hands when we played. We have shared this game with several friends and relatives and most of our referrals enjoyed it as much we do. Thank you for creating this wonderful game.

Is it anyway to change the language? Great app btw.

Challenging Versatile Addictive.

But we cant understand the scoring. There are a lot of hands Im not familiar with. We play simple Hong Kong style in Honolulu . Thank you very much! Its fun, esp. With social isolation.

Dont get us wrong – we enjoy playing game and we play it 20 times a day. The problem we have is when we looked the hand of our opponent who gave us our winning tile, we would often find the opponent made a move that would make everyone scratch their head, for example, breaking up a set formation, or chowing when there are two tiles left.

Good game but need the numbers on the tiles!! Especially on the characters!! For non chinese, how are you suppose to know the sequence if theres no numbers.

We find the instructions to be very incomplete. Nowhere does it explain what you do in the game. When we started our first game, after reading the instructions, we were surprised that dice were involved. Nowhere in the instructions does it say that you use dice and when, what do the numbers mean, etc. Also, what am we supposed to do? How do we know what tile to play, where to put it, where is the draw deck, what are the people saying and why arent they speaking English if we chose English in the settings, do the words they are saying have to do with the game, are they instructions, or is it just social chit-chat? We want to learn how to play mahjong but we cant find an app that actually explains in English, with complete instructions in detail. It would be great if an app would guide a newbie through several games explaining what to do and why as play continues all the way thru to the end. We went to realmahjongg.com because we were told we could learn how to play on that website, but it costs $5.99/month and their ios app costs $6.99/month. That is way too steep for a game. We have a beautifull Mahjongg set the our Mom bought when she & our step-dad were in China 10-15 years ago. We were hoping to learn how to play it but it doesnt seem likely from what we have found so far.

Ive had several instances where we should have been able to win, but the game doesnt offer the chance to take a tile – for example being one away from winning with honors & knitted, and an honor we dont have or number for the knit we dont have being discarded. Its really disappointing to play.

Less than 8 points cannot be a ready hand. Pls explain.

It would be helpful when playing True Chinese Mahjongg that some English dialog is spoken. Is this game discriminating? Only Chinese speaking people can play it? If so….state it.

We cannot download this game, is there a problem with this app?? Update: It finally opened.

Close to the original game in real life.

Nice introduction to mahjong. Very fun to play.

We really like this game. We didnt know how to play at first, but this app was really helpful. And one of the best parts is NO POP UP ADDS!!! We think it is great.

The rules are all written out, it gives suggestions and explains the whole game. Perfect for beginners.

Such a great facsimile of the actual game, down to people calling out the tile names in Chinese. We especially appreciate that they break down the point count after the game.

We havent played mahjong in ages. But this game got us right back into it. Really fun. You need to know your Chinese numbers.

  1. Detailed explanation of winning condition 2. Quick speed in game process.

Im really enjoying so far, has english and chinese! Give it a try.

We like that they let u see what hands are possible and what tiles you need to complete them. Its good practice before we play against real people.

Very fast paced 13 tile traditional mahjong gameplay.

We enjoy playing this game. Fun, quick, and challenging. We turn the sound off…we dont speak Mandarin or Cantonese (dont know which dialect the game uses), so listening to the tile/game/play calls are immaterial. However we have the real game tiles and have read those rules, the rules from another Mahjong online game we had (no longer supported…deleted), and the rules from this game…so getting Mahjong frequently is not difficult. We have a lot to learn to be sure, but it is more interesting then playing only Solitaire.

We got this to learn how to play. We played a few games and then watched a couple of YouTube videos and after repeating this routine, Ive got a good handle on it. Love it.

Please START playing the REAL MAHJONG GAME. THIS IS IT!!! You going to LOVE IT. We BEEN PLAYING MAHJONG since 1970s. The MATCHING MAHJONG is NOT the way you play the REAL GAME that is VERY OLD GAME over at least 2K+ years old.

Very fun game for free. We looked for quite a while and could not find any other. Kept finding mahjong solitaires. The discard hints was welcome and the help pages are well laid out.

Its a good game but it was hard at first to learn what does what. Trying this game out and learning for the first time was difficult. We think what would take this game to the next level would be having an option to slow the game down when you are playing with computer players so that you can clearly see what is being discarded as they are doing it to get better at recognizing Kongs pungs and chows. Tutorial games to teach people how to play with play through scenarios to solidify what is being shown and done. Thank you for having this game available among all the other shanghai mahjongs out there. Its helped us to learn the game (with some help from youtube) and Im looking for a set to teach and play with our family. Thanks.

We recently learned Mah Jongg with some local friends. This is a fun way to practice. Our only wish is that there was an explanation of the winning hands and how points are scored. We keep observing and since there are many different house rules, we need some help understanding how these hands are scored.

Not to take away from an otherwise great game … But … A few points to make: 1-the suggested discard option doesnt seem to notice that there is often better options, 2-the chow option didnt pop up when the tile we needed was discarded, and the chow, pong, kong options DO pop up, even if we have a three tile set completed in our hand. As a programmer, we appreciate the complexity of the logic involved. And as this game is written, we enjoy playing this, a lot.

Our only complaint with this game is that we cant reset our money. The AI is so good that soon we will be bankrupt. We have no idea what will happen then. Will the game lock us out? We use this game to practice mahjong and we would hate to lose it. Otherwise its a superb traditional mahjong game.

Most visible tiles of anyone's game. Would pay for no adds. Sound is horrible.
