"It’s a great strategy game. I’d recommend this to RTS and RPG lovers alike." – AppAdvice
"One of the "5 winning games for tablets" – New York Times, July 2011

"Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim" is a vast magical world where you are honored with the crown of a tiny fairytale kingdom. When you become the head of the country all the responsibility for the land’s prosperity rests on your royal shoulders. You will have to fight various enemies and monsters, explore new territories, manage economic and scientific developments and solve a heap of unusual and unexpected tasks. For example, what will you do when all the gold in the kingdom transforms into cookies? Or how will you bring back the trolls who robbed caravans and whose disappearance ruins the economy of the country?

The core feature of "Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim" is that you cannot control your citizens directly. There are a lot of heroes in your lands: valiant warriors and warlike barbarians, powerful wizards and grim necromancers, industrious dwarves and skilful elves plus many more. But all of them live their own lives and decide for themselves what to do at any moment. You are able to issue orders but heroes will follow your commands only for a sizeable reward.

"Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim" contains elements of role play: while fulfilling your orders, the heroes improve their skills and talents, as well as earn cash to be spent on new equipment, weapons, and magical elixirs.

"Majesty: The Fantasy Kingdom Sim" – the throne is waiting for its hero!

Game Features:

  • Legendary indirect control strategy totally adapted for iOS.
  • 10 types of heroes with dozens of statistics, weapons and armour.
  • A dozen types of monsters.
  • Several dozen spells.
  • 30 upgradeable building types.
  • 15 scenario missions+ a bonus one.
  • 3 difficulty levels.
  • About 100 game achievements.

Hear from the Players – Majesty: Fantasy Kingdom Sim Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Majesty: Fantasy Kingdom Sim:

Majesty is a series that holds a lot of nostalgia for us and many others. That said, if you’ve never played this series before, we highly recommend it. The indirect kingdom simulator is a very interesting style of game as it takes a lot of the usual control you have in a game and forces you to think more strategically. Great if you’re a fan of Real Time Strategy Games (RTS), indirect control life simulators (like The Sims), or fantasy gamers in-general. There’s a little something for everyone! Offers a very distinct challenge with a colorful cast of units, enemies, and quests to make every level fun. All that said, as a veteran of both Majesty 1 & 2, we can’t help but feel this is an oversimplified version of its predecessors. We haven’t made it all the way through yet, but we are assuming a lot of monsters got cut from the game, though not a terribly big deal. The real shame comes from the amount of units and buildings that were dropped from Majesty 1 in the transition to mobile. Upwards of 6 units got cut: Cultists, Monks, Rogues, Solarii, Adepts, and Gnomes (gnome hovels are still present, but the unit was dropped.) Two others that got dropped are peasants and guard captains, and though they aren’t a major loss, they are still notably missing. Along with this comes a LOT of missing spells! Obviously all the Cultist, Solarii, Adept, and Monk spells are gone, but the BIGGEST spell that got dropped was Rage of Krolm, pretty much making Barbarians useless. Other notable buildings that were dropped are the Magic Bazaar, Fairgrounds, and Gambling Hall. We assume the reason for this is to prevent the game from bogging down due to too many active units (there is a cap of only 20 recruited heroes at a time and 30 buildings.) That said, it is still a disappointment for anyone considering this game for nostalgic purposes. Also, they nerfed the healer so that it no longer can attack (the only reason to make a healer temple, since there is no monk counterpart, is for the paladin.) A tiny issue, but still worth mentioning. Everything considered, we still give this reincarnation of a very nostalgic game a 5/5. It is worth playing for newcomers to the series and old players looking for a portable version of an equally nostalgic and amazing game. We probably won’t get the expansion, since it doesn’t add any new units yet is $1 more than the standard game, but we definitely recommend this base game!

Great game not as good as the classic on the pc but good adaptation.

We loved this game when it was on our computer and we love that we get to play it again on our phone.

Core game play is the same as the original. Almost all heros except the paladins are male. Misses the hero dialogue, temple to fervus, poison and healing potions, and the days where games were designed to be fun and not clash farms.

We just found this game. We used to play it as a kid all the time, and the developers did it justice on the mobile version too. Good work.

How is that a troll it is huge.

Fun app that you don’t have to pay as you go.

We were a huge fan of the old Majesty fantasy kingdom sim games on the PC. The mobile version, while somewhat simplified, remains true to the source material and what made the original fantasy so fun and unique. This isn’t a game with Majesty slapped on – it is a faithful interpretation on a mobile platform. It’s a blast, addicting and fans will not be disappointed.

Never played this on the computer when it originally came out. As a first-time player, this is a ton of fun. The touch screen controls work really well and it’s a great 30 minute gaming session.

You won’t regret paying a little bit for this amazing game! By far the best we’ve played!!!

We’ve played through all the quests several times now. Still trying to beat all on bloodthirsty without buying extra. Love playing.

Great adaptation of the PC version, but we do miss the voices of all the characters.

Our favorite computer game besides the sims, from back in the day. A couple of the things you could do on the pc are missing, which we find a little funny cause our phone is probably stronger than the PC we had back in the day. But, it’s almost exactly like we remembered it. We wish you could zoom and … Ugh… Unzoom. But the view they give is ok.

We give this game 4 stars! It’s addictive and fun! The only thing we wish is that you could control the soldiers better and build walls! Other than that it’s a great game and we love it!

Yes, we are one of the old school players that loved this on our old blueberry ibook. There a few things that would have to be improved to earn that perfect score. One visibility, you can’t pinch and zoom the field. As the graphics have greatly downsized, you still need to see what is going on. Flipping between the field and one of the houses is too cumbersome. Save or we start you over? Autosave from the point of play each time, please? We do miss the voice of the old game as well. As this is a paid bundle with in app purchase as well, a few improvements need to be made.

We absolutely loved this game! So much that we bought the pc version but I’d didn’t quite live up to our love for the phone version. We still play it over and over, from new phone to new phone. But it hasn’t been updated for so long that it’s hard to play on the iPhone 6. I’d love for a new game but we could settle for just a new update!

First of all we thank you for porting this game to iOS seriously it makes our day. We would however love to have the voice of the advisor back and the limit on heroes makes us sad.

Doesn’t hold a candle to the original, but it kept us sane through a lot of power outages in the past year. It would be so much better with more of the units and structures from the PC version, not to mention the voice acting. The art is nice. Needs more zoom, and larger buttons.

Love playing this on our iPad mini…. Great time killer.

Great game play and a lot of fun… Although, we do miss all the things the heros would say when in certain situations. "Adversity builds character"

We love this game! We’re no wizard and we have been able to win all the levels on the easiest setting without making any in-game purchases. The middle setting is challenging but not impossible.

We did love this game on the PC and now just as much with the iPad. If you never played the original you may or may not like this…. Us… We love it.

We like how the Heros act like an RPG player and we like how this game is a strategy. We like the mix up with rpg and rts games. Pretty creative.

Fun lighter version of the PC version. Addictive, and a blast.

We’re a bit surprised how well this translated to iPad taps, especially where the menu is concerned. It became second nature fairly quickly not using a mouse. Had this game years ago but we actually never enjoyed it as much as now! That’s huge. We stumbled onto Majesty after giving Clash of Clans a checking out. Although the sound and graphics of CoC is very current, the insane build times and too few gems made us unhappy with that game… But we loved the "build an army and go conquer" mechanics of CoC. Majesty, though, despite it’s age is the better gem of a game to us because (1.) you can actually build a village and upgrade stuff in a one session and (2.) you can directly semi-build hero units in Majesty. On point 2 there, your warriors, archers, and wizards (etc) actually LEVEL UP as they kill monsters each game, and you can heal and protect them "from above" in a godlike, angelic being sort of way to help ensure that they don’t die and that they do level up. Very satisfying and fun, IMO. Each character has his/her own name, even. To heal a char you need to build the Temple of A-something (I forgot!) and then you can cast the Heal, Rez. The game menus are a bit clunky at first, but it works well eventually. The music is mediaeval-ish but is a bit old and synthetic sounding. Still, it’s an old game. The graphics are dated, but then again this game has much depth of play… More than we are used to in an iOS game. The characters have a mind of their own (kind of Sims-like?) when it comes to battle and exploring. You have to bribe them with gold coins to do anything, so to explore an area of the map you flag it with a blue flag and your people will sooner or later go there cuz of that. To flag a building or monster for destruction then put a red flag on them. If they are scary to your folks then you will have to jack the price up to overcome their fear!! Seriously. It’s funny. Also, in some cases if all your top ranked soldiers (of any kind) die then you MAY not be able to finish a mission. We didn’t realize that at first, and the final monster we had to kill was lvl 20 and our lvl 1 guys got instantly killed by him no matter how many we made. So, it’s a big help to keep your heroes alive and use their experience that they gain! It also makes the game personal and fun. Best of all, the company who owned the game has so far not gimped it in order to press for in-app purchases! We read that the sequal to it might push for more in-app purchases, which we hope not cuz that’s a huge turn off to us and many others.

If you were a fan of the original PC majesty, you will love this game. It’s just as fun as that version, maybe more! Our only suggestion is to make it easier to place buildings more precisely.

We have the game on the PC and we still play it every now and then. When we got the iPad for our birthday, this was one of the first games that we bought with no hesitation. Hard to put down and the last game we played, we actually saw the sun set and come back up. Awesome!

We love this game. So happy we can play now on our iPad! Great replay options with the different difficulty levels.

We love this game! We actually think it’s pretty balanced because if you can keep wizards alive long enough, they become super powerful.

This is probably the best app out there. We have been supportive of this game ever since it came out on PC. We got the majesty northern expension and still love this game. There needs to be more apps like this. Great in detail and very smooth. The only problem we would like to be fix in this app Is to be able to see the workers working/repairing on the building like it does on the PC we use to love to watch them fix or build a building. Plus we can tell how long they are to get to that building instead of the building being delayed on being built on by invisible forces. This app is the best bc you can see the characters moving around, fighting and buying. If u like clash of clans you will love this app. You can also build your own town and upgrade your building. Pls keep the updates coming. Surely love this app.

Is an awesome game and it translates well to iPad definitely worth the money.

It’s as good as it looks. Go ahead and get it.

Very fun to pass the time. Wish you can control things better.

Perfect game for the iPhone; this is a complete in depth game that is polished and works very well… Because its all based on a bounty system and in-direct control of the units, there’s no need to micromanage and command all the small people, which would be a pain on a touchscreen. The combination works perfectly here, and with all the gameplay of a big budget game. Well worth the price! -Major Gamer.

Awesome PC game now on mobile devices. Superb classic pixel graphics and very interesting gameplay.

Fun. Addictive. Different than most RTS apps. But we can figure out the point/rating system.

Excellent game. Wish we knew the range of towers, but otherwise very fun.

We played Majesty when it first came out years ago, we loved it. Majesty 2 came out and it was decent but it lost the majesty feel. This app is much more like Majesty. We love the graphics and the interface is easy to use. We just wish there was multiplayer.

This is like the original Warcraft, only you can’t control exact units and you don’t get gold from mines. Yet, it works. Not without problems… You must strategically build your village, then kingdom based on what units you have. These units then wander around of their own free will and generally attack when needed. This makes it easier to control for small screens, but if you want them to go more aggressive, you kind of have to offer rewards to them… And once they are on, it is nearly impossible to call retreat when enemies ambush them. The font telling what happened is way too small. The general information is vague and takes time to learn what does what. (I still haven’t figured some of it out and we played through the tutorial.) The AI isn’t great. Rangers tend to be the worst at kamakazi tactics. Even though they are ranged, they let the enemy get up right in their faces and they don’t back down. There are balance issues. If you don’t get warriors or paladins out quickly, you lose. But we enjoy it so far. This is a pretty good strategy game. It is the most like a classic Warcraft that we have yet played that allows you to be offline when you play. This is good news for iPod users and people who don’t always want their data plan being used.

Pros: – Great game. Strategic but silly, demanding but clever. – Plenty of ways to play. Different routes cut off other ways to play that actually make sense – Different endings. Most of the scenarios have different ways to end it depending on what you want to do – Graphic are simple but nice. More true to the original than jaw dropping. Cons – Please work on the AI and user interface. Some of the below just unpack this. – Spellcasting is not intuitive. More than once we’ve cursed one of our heroes or healed a monster. Some scenarios you want to give a troll a skeleton buddy, but mostly not. – Again, the AI! Heroes often wander off to get killed and we cannot keep wizards or necromancers alive. Meanwhile, dark knights and paladins never die, which we guess we don’t mind. – Add some metrics, like how much gold does a house generate over a game day?

If you enjoyed the PC version odds are good you’ll enjoy this. Be warned, however, some temples are missing (all level 3 and ferverus and daurous.)
