I wanted to push the limits of human ability and find out how quickly people can answer 10 or 100 basic math problems if all barriers to that task are removed. Entering 91 on a number pad and pressing enter can take 2 seconds for many people. Writing the number 55 in pencil can take as long as 4 seconds for slower writers because of the strokes involved. Listening to a verbal question and verbalizing the answer 27 can take as long 4 seconds as well because of the four syllables.
When you add up these 2 to 4 second User-Interface delays over 100 problems, they can add 200 to 400 seconds to the total time required. It becomes quickly apparent that Math Tests do not test math calculation, memory or thinking abilities as much as they test handwriting, verbalization or keypad entry skills. We have shown that it is possible for a really fast thinker to answer 1 math problem every .9 seconds using Math Racer. In fact, Math ® is the only app in the app store that measures and records for viewing on the high score board detail view exactly how long it took the user to answer each question in hundredths of a second.
The purpose of this game is to even the playing field and test pure math calculation or memory skills alone. Nothing else ever invented for testing math speed even comes close. We think you’ll agree. This app is really helpful for brain training.
We plan to use this to help our little one in math. Im hoping with spaced repetition, itll help store the problems in his long term memory. This way he has quickly access to it as he advances in math.
We’ve read that routinely doing math problems in our heads doesnt just keep those skills sharp, but can perhaps reduce our chances of developing dementia – at least as early as we otherwise would. We like the more scientific approach this math game takes. Being able to see our times for various kinds of problems in hundredths of seconds makes it more fun to keep challenging myself. We started using Math Racer today with our first graders using addition and they loved it. The directions are easy to follow and the children enjoyed trying to beat the clock with successive games.
Seriously buy this we’re 21 years old we’re far from stupid but we got bad habits when we were a kid and never stuck with math it embarrassing when you are trying to do math and can’t add or subtract people’s money without a calculator or on your hands we’re optimistic about this app and it really helping us to be quicker and correct in everyday situations.
We’ve enjoyed this app to keep our mind sharp and help us to speed up our response time. It’s not the kind of app where you want to ‘teach’ someone math, but to test the knowledge they already have. It’s like speed-dating a math quiz. Lol ;)
We have been playing for a few days and we love it so far! It’s nice to brush up on math skills and it asks do you want to post to Game Center in case you are a lil embarrassed like some of us. We also love that you see all of the answers and yours along with how long it took you to answer.
As a middle school math teacher, we encouraged all of our students to download. Those with strong skills challenge each other for the best time. Others us the app to get faster. Easy to use and fun.
This a fun app. We downloaded it so that we can keep our brain sharp. It is so easy to use. Our only complaint is that it quits on us sometimes after we finish a round.
Simple interface. Basic math for our 7 year old. No pressure, but times their progress. Great for memorization skills. Awesome.

Used this app to help our grandson learn his multiplication tables. We used a challenge with the timer that was very difficult for him and if he was successful he won a prized model 1952 Chevy pickup. It took him almost a year to master it but he kept at it and now has our beautiful 1952 Chevy pickup. Now his sister "wants" to do multiplication too!
Reminds us of our early years in school.

Keeps u thinking… Good challenge.
This app is loads of fun to test how fast we can do random equations. We can even choose weather that is addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. However, we can’t choose to test our multiples of 7, or divisions of 8 – both of which we’re significantly slower with than other equations. This app would benefit from being able to test specific numbers, like ordered flash cards. Also, it would be cool if we could choose a user’s slowest equations and only do those – so we can get better at them. Maybe both of those could be fixed by being able to make custom tests. Otherwise, a great app, minus the expensive price.
Math Racer has helped our third grader get ahead in math.
This game is a fun one while helping you to use your brain. We think bc it’s timed it makes you push harder than normal and sometimes that can screw you up. Really fun though.
This app is great! However with the changes in standards across the country in math each grade level has fluency standards. If you could select levels of addition or subtraction within certain facts would take this app and put it in every classroom. For example kindergarten only needs to add/subtract within 5, first is within 10. We hope to see this change soon.
This is a great app for our 3rd grader to practice random math equations. The only thing that we wished it could do is allow us to select specific numbers for her to work with like multiples of 7 and 8. We will update our review in a few weeks when we start to see improvement in her math.

1st couple of times are fun, but the problems are too simple and we get bored.
This app is straightforward, with very few bells & whistles -a plus, we feel. It could use a bit more customization for use with younger kids, but still, we’re happy with it as it is.
Crashes on every launch on two different iPads. This is almost a great app, but certainly NOT WORTH THE PRICE, because: – no "Levels", such as easy, advanced, etc. – no ability to store each person’s/players results to see progress (kids wants this) – no option to type in answers (another challenge setting) – no time race scoring, i.e., how many correct in 60 seconds with deductions for wrong answers. Because of the above, the game wears out its novelty very quickly. It could be so much more, but our first grader is already bored with the + and – game as it is too easy for him.
This app is awesome for improving the speed with which you answer math questions. Our son needed to get faster at solving multiplication problems and this did the trick and he likes it (more than a lot of the "fun" kid themed math games we purchased). Highly recommend.
This is exactly what we’ve been looking for to help our 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th grader speed up their math calculations!!! As a bonus, they can work on speed reading (glancing at multiple numbers at a time) too! Both skills we learned so well having grown up in a Taiwan private school and having the pressure of preparing for high school/college entrance exam.
If you’re like most people you have a policy of not doing math in public. Using Math Racer will make it a thing of the past.
Math racer has really helped us in school! Now we are able to complete math equations faster because we can remember so much form practicing our multiplication and division using this app. You may think you bad at math, but your just lazy. If you practice with math racer your sure to be successful.
