Find out what gamers are saying about Mech Pilot:

Its fun once you get your Mech upgraded enough. There is a lot of grinding. MiFi support could be better.

Great game for MechWarrior PC game fans. More levels please.

Great game would be better if it had radar like original and a bigger environment.

Unplayable for us if we can’t reverse y axis.

It looks cool but the app absolutely doesn’t work when opened it loads off to the side of the screen and never displays properly for it to even be functional.

App loads but does not display properly in iPad Air. Parts of the display are off the screen and the x,y touchscreen coordinates are not calibrated correctly (touch one area of the screen and an object on a different area of the screen is activated). Unplayable.

GOLD-DRAGON’S REVIEW: 32GB iPOD 4G- iOS 6.1.3 ———————————— +1 Star- Graphics Moderate Quality, Naustalgic Mechwarrior Style +1 Star- Music/Sound While the Music is Moderate Quality The Sound effects seem to be degraded for such a platform, and are often very high pitched. +1 Star- Story/Plot While we don’t really get to see many Characters in the Game, and the non Mechwarrior Clan Scheme is not present the game does have a moderately involving story that unweinds as you progress. -1 Star- Replay, A lot of people will be greatly disapointed who saw the Mecha App Store Game Icon, and expected a game comparable to/like Mechwarrior. You don’t get more then 1-Mecha, and you can’t really customize much eiter. Even more damaging then the lack of features is the movement system, this is in fact the most negative aspect of the game, it is not freeworld like most other Mecha Shooters are, in fact it is more like TRON, you are limited to front and rear movement, you can’t use any accelerated movement up or down or side to side. – 1 Star- Functionality, While the game ran reasonably well most times, it was often extremely difficult to aim and hit several targets, also there was randomly some in game lag when being attacked by multiple targets at the same time. However the game never Crashed or Froze on us during any event. —————————————————————————————–

We would really like to use it with the iCade controller but the controls don’t seem to match up with the controls in the options.

Awkward controls No tilt fire control It’s a rail shooter mech game No customization to the one mech you have Just upgrade the few weapons you have Had promise but a real let down.

Every time we try to get into the app immediately it kicks us out we have tried every way to get it working and it failed in the end we hate this app.

Previous reviewer nailed it when they described this train wreck as an ‘on-rails shooter." That’s exactly what it is… And not even an enjoyable one. Any true Mechwarrior fan would likely suffer an aneurism after playing this trash for more than 30 seconds. On the plus side, the game deleted nicely without much trouble. : )

Good game, nice graphics! You do follow a predetermined path, but you get used to it. There is a stop, you push forward to go and hit it second time to stop. Using shields is great, it wakes you almost untouchable.

We used to play mechwarrior on super nES all the time. Miss it! This is a fun fix tho.

Looks good with all the graphics and stuff. Free roam sounds cool, but might be for a second app.

Love playing Mech games… But we can’t get this game to go to the next mission for some reason when we complete the first mission … But it’s still fun.

This game is… Okay. The graphics are pretty good and sound is also well done. But that is where the game stops being good and just becomes okay. It is on-rails. Now, we are not opposed to on-rails; there are in fact many great rail shooters. This game, however, leaves a lot to be desired and the graphics and sound are not enough. There needs to be some level balancing. For example, the first level is really too hard. In order to survive it, you need to stay very far away from the targets and take distance shots, which defeats the purpose of having awesome graphics. And what’s with the shield? It does not move with your mech; instead, you have to stand still to use it or you leave it behind. We know that there is a "side jump" to avoid enemy fire, but it is so slow to activate that you get hit before your mech jumps. There should be true strafing instead. The developers need to give some side-to-side control, even if it is along the prescribed path. They need to eliminate the need to press and HOLD the harvest button (this function is stupid since EVERY OTHER GAME EVER MADE automatically brings the energy/money/health/whatever to you). Developers also need to balance the levels better and make enemies weaker if they are not going to allow free movement. 5 stars for graphics and sound. Loses half of that for poor gameplay and implementation. Since there isn’t a 2.5, we give it a 3 stars. Almost, developers, but not quite.

But no STOP? Once moving you can go forward or backward but we can’t make it stop to snipe in the distance. Also since sniping from a distance is required a ZOOM (scope) option would be nice. No we don’t like the path, but it’s not horrible… We have all the mech games on IOS and this one shows promise. Also don’t black mail us into buying the packs. (I’ll make a free open world if you buy them). Could be 5 stars over time if improved.

Running on iPhone 5. Runs good, but ammo depletes without warning.

The game description says drive a mech around an immersive environment. Sadly they meant press up to follow a predefined path. Press down to backup along the same path. First mission is so difficult you’ll be lucky if you kill the thing that can shoot at you. Controls are overly sensitive. And getting used to just controlling the targeting system is a game all in itself. Targets are tediously small and trying to keep the guns going, cool, and on target is overly difficult. Come on seriously its year 2200+, you’re driving around a hung walking tank, and the engineers didnt include target lock?

We want the feel of being in a mech instead of riding on top of one in the sence that it was so driven that we were not the pilot. Please make this open world.

PLEASE JUST LET US BE ABLE TO MOVE FREELY WITH NO RESTRICTIONS…..3RD PERSON POINT OF VIEW,WITH ALL THE MOBILITY OF A FUNCTIONAL MECH. JUMP SIDEWAYS.. LEFT/RIGHT,CROUCH,JUMP FORWARD/BACKWARDS,FULL STOMPS & KICKS,MORE SHOULDER WEAPONS TO FIRE ETC. THANK YOU… YOUR ON YOUR WAY TO HAVING THE BEST MECH FIGHTER IN THE APP STORE. KEEP TWEAKING THIS GAME,I’LL BE WAITING!!

We like it. Wow is the only three letter word to describe Mech Pilot.

It would iap purchases the money.

It’s very fun just needs better controls.

The game has a very good concept, we love mech games an we thought it would be more like mech assault for the Xbox and in some ways it is. The game has good graphics an some fun gameplay but the controls need work. One of the biggest problems is that you don’t have any free movement. The level has a certain path that you mech automatically follows forcing you to go into battle guns blazing, you can’t have any strategy. So in all the game is fun but needs work so we’re glad we got it when it was free an didn’t have to pay any money for it.

This game could be really good, but after a couple minutes we coulnd’t stand using those controls. Fix the controls and this might be a playable game.

Must fix the controls and free range of motion. Atmosphere, aesthetics, sounds and look are all great. Polish up the look slightly and give us full range of motion and twin stick controls and you’ve got a 5 star 2.99 app that we’ve wanted on iOS for a long time.

Compared to other FPS, the controls are not intuitive. It’s not at all apparent how to steer the legs, not just turn the torso. Lame.

The controls need to be fixed to make this game enjoyable.

We see the Sound and Music Controls, but we can’t adjust them.

This game is not cool at all because a we can’t even get to stage 1 when we got there it just go back and we will say need more bug fixes this game is so bad we can’t even get to play it no fun at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ): ): ):

I’d really love to play it but we can’t even get into level 1, please fix it.

We don’t like this game because it always crashing,I can’t get to enjoy it,n just think we pay for this game.

Touch controls with stick and uped graphics this is worth the pay coming from a mechwarrior fan.

This is a fun game and has lots of potential, at first because we are used to playing mech fighter games, this is hard to deal with……. But give it time and you will have a smile on your face! It is the closest thing to the pc game mech warrior we can find where you are behind the mech and controlling it. There’s always room for updates like.. First… Save points would be great to have and also jump jets. People are looking for more mech games! Hope updates will soon be on there way… Keep up the good work!!!

Nice to have a Mech game. We wish it had radar. Graphics isn’t bad either.

Oh mech pilot we had such hopes for you. The graphics and general concept are awesome but the combat is gimped. No free movement really restricts any sort of strategy and mech battles turn into a shoot out. We still can’t get past the first level because we’re force d into some on rails battle with multiple equal strength mechs.

NOT OPTIMIZED FOR IPHONE 5. Okay, for those of you… Like myself, that saw the screens and said, "Eff us a mobile Mech Warrior game!!!" Please keep reading before you buy. Essentially this game is an on rails shooter. You press the "Toggle Walk" button and the mech walks. Press again to make it stop. You aim with a virtual stick. You have no control over your mechs direction. There is no moving backwards that we can figure out. Walk into enemy fire? You’ve got two options. Stand still and blast away taking all the flack. Or you can keep walking and pray whoever is controlling the legs has the sense to steer you behind cover. That’s gameplay in a nut shell. You destroy enemy tanks, helicopters, mechs… Etc and collect "Electro". In order to do so, you must press and hold a "Harvest" button. This works, we guess, until you want to turn the camera and look elsewhere because as soon as you touch the virtual stick harvesting will cease. Kinda lame and a pain if you’re low on health and trying to get that last bit before you get blown to smithereens. You can use "Electro" to upgrade your Mech. This is what always excites us most. Got yourself a brand spanking new toy of death deliverance and you wanna customize it and make it your own. DON’T get excited. Upgrades are basic, health, weapon cool down, and weapon damage. As far as we’ve seen, upgrading does not change the look of our mech. Disappointing. All in all, it is fun. It’s got ALOT of things that need improvement. I’d like to be able to steer our mech for a more tactical battle. I’d also like to see the "Harvest" button go away and just have the idiot controlling the legs hold that for us. Or at least fix it so we can look away and still "Harvest". The graphics are pretty snazzy, we can’t complain. Oh, also… IPhone 5 support. We like the game, but as of right now it’s not all it can be.

Not bad at first glance, but the controls aren’t configurable to invert the y-axis, unlike any decent mech or flight game we’ve ever played. Once that gets added ill update our review score, but for now that makes this endlessly frustrating and unplayable.

No strafing, no jumping, no running, no tilt controls. It’s antiquated battlefield formations from the colonial times, but with Mechs. Both sides face each other and fire until one of you dies.
