We like how Microsoft sudoku helps us learn problem solving skills and mathematics and because these have different levels, we dont have to feel worried about going to medium hard or expert because we get to choose which ones we do instead of some games you play and then it just gets hard out of nowhere also we like how they have an option for images if its hard for some people to just look at numbers all day so yes, we would recommend to people of the ages of nine and up.
We love how strategically oriented this game is , nothing like sharpening your critical thinking skills.

We knew the game existed, but only on paper form. Once we found this, it got us hooked! Great game, to keep your brain, always going! We just wish they would have daily challenges, just like Microsoft solitary. Im still giving you a five star rating even though we wish Id had that. Great product, Microsoft.
We love the daily challenges. The games do not repeat. We have had this for many years and have only experienced one issue and just today (11-1-2024). The issue was that the app would not show the daily challenges or recognize that a sudoku was completed. We tried restarting the iPad, looked for updates, and the issue was not fixed. We love this app and hope it is fixed tomorrow. As of 11-2-24 all has been fixed – we truly love this app and Microsoft.
Why dnt you have the challenges up for November? Thats how we start every day.

This is a fun game. The game does not make it easy on you so you win. It is a real challenge.
It allows you to show or hide mistakes.

The game says its loading but never does!! It will say its loading for up to a week, then if we are lucky it will work for a couple of days and the starts the loading problem, even if a try to reload in the ap store it wont load.
Careful! This version of sudoku nicks you if you even accidentally brush your finger on a square with the wrong number highlighted. But even worse: if youre in Notes mode and you tap outside the grid, EVEN UNINTENTIONALLY, this version deselects any selected square, any selected number, AND TAKES YOU OUT OF NOTES MODE. Thus, if you dont notice and you tap a square and a number expecting to write a note, and its not the right number, you get nicked. 99% of our non-perfect games are due to this unsafe design decision. Otherwise, hands down the best rendition of sudoku out there.

We think this video game depiction is great. But could use some more themes.
We have played the daily challenges for a very long time. Today they are gone. Yes app is up to date. Info needed to report a bug would take too long to research.
The game is great and well made, but like all Microsoft Casual games, you cant get rid of the ads without a subscription, which for these casual games is ludicrous. Sell it for a one time fee or free with ads, Microsoft.
The application works well until it is used for a while. We have worked our way up to grandmaster level on three occasions. In each case the application has frozen in a repetitive loop where it says it is loading – continuously. The only way that we have found to get out of the loop is to delete the application from our phone and reinstall it. Of course, we have to work our way up from the bottom every time this happens. Annoying, but be advised that one can only go so far until the application descends into a death spiral.
This is our absolute favorite sudoku app. Specifically for the irregular sudoku. Its great. But one of our biggest issues with the app is when we accidentally click on a box that has a number Ive put it (that was already correct) when we tried to put another number in the box next to it, then it changes it and now we have a mistake when it shouldve just been locked in since it was already correct. We really hope they change this when you play with show wrong on.
It would be nice to be able to work on past month/year challenges.
We played a lot of Sudukos for the last 20 years and we love this game. The levels are challenging and its easy to play. The one thing we would suggest would be for the daily challenges make them harder or the ability to change what level they are because most daily challenges are just easy, and too easy for us.
If you dont complete every challenge for the month you cant go back and finish. That means if the last day of the month is a busy one you, you dont even get to attempt the challenge for the day. We have been playing Microsoft solitaire for years and never had that issue. Even without paying for the game we can play previous months challenges. What a stupid waste.
App is hood works well. Challenges are stimulators for mind. But the ads are very irksome and persistent. Ads could be made simple and short, not tiresome to watch and exit.
We had high hopes when we downloaded Microsofts Sudoku to replace the truly intrusive Sudoku 2 adware. We wasnt disappointed by the games, even though the free version has annoyingly-long ads with audio (always on at the start – grrr). However, we soon discovered what others have already mentioned – very often the program will get stuck loading, with the only way to get it going again without losing all your points and levels is to turn your iPhone off and back on. For us, this happens about every fifth game, on average. Id subscribe to the paid version in order to get rid of the ads, but not when we have to keep restarting our phone in order to play another game. Oh, and the games load slowly anyway, so you cant tell for at least 45 seconds whether the next game is going to load or if we should instead find some other, more productive way to waste time. We should know better by now, but somehow we expected better off Microsoft.
It's our favorite game.. But unfortunately it no longer works when our iPhone is in Arabic.. We have to switch it to English for it to work.. And this is annoying.. We have to constantly switch between the two languages.. So we preferred to uninstall the game.
This is our favorite app for sudoku but it hardly ever works. Even if we are on a good wifi or cell service, sometimes it doesnt even load. Other times, when it does load, it takes 1-4 minutes. Plus, we cant play on the airplane and thats when we need it the most. Very disappointing because we cant find any other apps that we like as much as this one (for sudoku).
Would like a paid option that eliminates data collection. For a forced-spyware app, its quite good. We wish there were a dark mode to use with the symbols mode (the numbers can be replaced with symbols, which we recommend trying, but it can only be done on a blinding white background). And they chose the lightest color for the thinnest symbol (the light blue crescent), which makes it hard to see on the white background and reduces the utility of the symbols mode.
When we open the auto note filling, we can't edit the notes anymore, this is ridiculous because harder soduko needs elimination of notes and then solve them.
This is a good app. For serious sudoku players its a pass. Its missing too many features. Try the website sudoku coach if you want the best.
We have this app on both our laptop and our phone, but theyre not syncing. Why not? Im logged into the same account on both devices. Syncing should be easy. We asked Copilot and it gave us false instructions. So Copilot doesnt even know how to fix a Microsoft issue-_useless.
This game is so %%# frustrating to play due to their idiotic controls. When youre adding notes, you must be VERY careful where you click. We have many times been in Notes mode and accidentally entered in a number outside of Notes mode and made a mistake. There is no way to lock it into Notes mode and you will eventually make a mistake. Does MS ever test their ^^%^ games.
When we first start to play an ad pops up and nothing plays, no matter how long we wait. We see a black screen and if we try restarting the game, it happens again.
You can't open a game up without waiting two minutes for an ad to load and play. It really is too much.
Heres some very obvious improvements that can be made: – Dark mode mostly works, except for the extremely bright white loading screen when launching the application. Defeats the purpose. – The challenges keep scrolling back to the end of the month after every game. This is extremely annoying when in the early part of the month. – There is no good contrast on the penciled numbers when a number is selected, theyre quite hard to see. – Ice block challenge is not fun, and needs the ability to pencil on the ice. – It is quite easy to make a mistake by not realizing the pencil notes isnt turned on. There should be greater contrast for the mode.
Love the game BUT the Lightning Link Casino Slots ad DOES NOT go away! Creepy leprechaun stays on the screen and the game doesnt come up. You have to close the app completely and restart the game. This seems to be the only ad it happens with, the others have an X to close them.
This bad bug makes it frustrating to try solutions. When you enter a number for a possible solution, the notes corresponding to that number at the matching rows and columns are correctly erased. But if you the press undo, the notes at affected cells are not restored properly. What a dumb way for the programmers to ruin and otherwise beautifully done app. (Must be Microsoft!!).
We love the game. It's five star. We don't even mind the ads. What we do mind is that our phone is on silent and the ads come on and they are not silent. So that means we can't play the game or experience the ads at certain times. So what's the point? Just let them come on silent.
Several times, after making decent progression up the ladder, the game froze. So we had to delete it and re-install it. We d/led it on our iPad. We couldnt d/l it on our PC without an XBox account. We dont own an XBox. And there are several other, more reliable Sudoku games available, so we started using one of them. Much better.
20 minutes into it and we are snoozing.
This is an awesome App if you like playing Sudoko. Its probably the best one of all the ones of purchased from the Apple Store.
Really enjoy puzzle games but want more from Microsoft that have the achievement system built in.
We love this app, but we really wish it had a landscape mode for when Im using our iPad. Hoping others will provide the same feedback so we can get that feature one day.
We are in our mid 90s and we start each day with exercise- walking one mile for the body then one or two sudokus for our brain. Wouldnt miss it.
We never imagined how hard it would be to find a Sudoku app that doesn't immediately tell you when you've made a mistake or constantly show a timer (both options if you want them). This app has everything we want: clean UI, toggles for all the quality of life options, no ads, extra game modes available but not pushed. Now that we know how hard it is, we're never letting this one go.
This app allowed us to learn how to play suduko, and not make us feel dumb, even though we have a bachelors degree.

This is just a tiny quibble, the countdown to perfect in the daily challenge goes from 6 to 3 to 0 challenges left even though you still have challenges left.
Been playing since we met two boys from Japan! This was in the 1980s.
