Has some ads, but outside the ones that you use to get assistance or a do over, you can skip the others. Outside of that, this is a fun and enjoyable game to play when bored or killing some time.
We dont even know how many years Ive had this game at this point, Ive loved it. It works so well we love the customization options, but it no longer works :( we open it up and we just get a teal screen. Nothing more. We wont uninstall it. We hope it will work one day, but onto new apps.
Ive tried several versions of this game This is the most closed to the original one.
This game has very little ads and is very fun to play. It has many levels to choose from and it is very challenging.
We installed this game several months ago. We enjoy playing it as it takes us back to the early days of Windows games. However, we are wondering when the events will start. It tells us a new event will start soon. And the latest update, we think from last year, says it includes new events. We can win games at every difficulty level (we also lose a few) and the daily challenge is fun, but Id like some more, harder challenges.
We used to love this game, but the latest update made it so you can't play the old daily games. Now we just don't play anymore because the challenge and variety is gone. We're not checking into an app every day just for the current daily.
After latest updates, shows blank teal screen and hangs there.
Currently cant start a new game, be it the normal or event versions of the games.

We played this daily for years. Now it wont open. Ive shut down our phone. Updated the app software. It gets to the real screen and freezes and has got about 1 month. Not sure what happened.
Was obsessed with this game until your last update. Every time we open the app it shows the logo then it just goes black. It wont open! Please fix this or Ill have to find a different minesweeper app – and this one is our favorite. Paid for ad-free and everything.
We were forced to delete and reinstall this app because it would not boot up upon opening. We had previously purchased the app but was unable to restore the purchased version. The amount of ads are outrageous. They were even bad with the purchased version but this is ridiculous.
We love us some minesweeper. And this game was a great version of it. Weeks ago(maybe over a month), the load screen would load up and then it would freeze on the same blank screen. We thought surely they would fix it right away, but no. Its still broken as of this review. Even if the app is fixed at this point the 2 stars stands. The dev teams priorities aren't on this game and im not going to spend $5 on a game that literally wont work for over a month. Thats insane.
UPDATE: we just updated and its no longer crashing but we get a teal screen and nothing else :( we appreciate the team working on these bugs though Ever since the newest update, our app has been crashing the moment it starts to open. Currently unplayable! Also, Ive been playing for a long time and we have a few notable critiques. First, we paid for the ads to be removed, HOWEVER, it also completely removed the option for us to watch an ad when we make a mistake. When we accidentally click a bomb, we have no choice but to restart the entire thing which has led to much frustration. We know before we paid for the ads to be removed we could still continue if we watched one. If we could maybe spend coins instead to continue it would be great. Second, if you dont do the daily minesweeper, you cant access it. For example, if we dont complete the daily game for today, Nov 14, we will never be able to access it to complete it. We understand thats kind of the point, but many other games of this sort allow players to go back and play all the days they missed. Its so satisfying to fill up a month worth of games. Maybe if there was a reward or some incentive to consistently do it everyday we would try harder or understand why we cant access any previous dailys, but there isnt one. Overall though, we like the game. Its very fun and we play it every night before we sleep.
We launch the app, it, goes through the title page, signs us in, then the screen goes green and thats the end. We enjoyed it daily for weeks before this.
This game wasnt too bad as we could deal with the ads but then came an issue. We cant seem to be able to open the game and its been like this for almost two weeks which is highly annoying. We dont know whats wrong to where it wont load even with perfect internet but something is wrong with it.
This game used to be one of our faves. Played it daily for literally years. Then they made recent changes that kinda ruined it. No variability in the daily game. Cant go back if you miss a day. We reached out to support approximately 20 times and crickets. We thought maybe our game had a glitch so we deleted it and reloaded only to discover that the restore purchases button doesnt work. The purchase ad free button just above it works of course. Not sure what happened but we would avoid this game and choose one of the many better options.
Paid for the upgrade and kept getting adds. Moved on.
We dont know if a new iOS update or program update broke it, but the game wont start up anymore. All we get is the blank green screen now.
We have been playing this game for almost everyday for two years. They recently changed the game and now you can no longer make up missed daily games :-( As of today there is a glitch and cannot get into the game its just a teal screen.
Been complaining about the new updates for about 4-5 weeks now and nothing has changed. Does anyone even read the complaints or comments.
Got rid of the ability to play prior days challenges to earn trophies. We used to keep track of our statistics of games won, but then they got rid of that. The game also lost our best times with the latest update.
We cant play the daily puzzles any more, all we get is a teal colored screen with nothing on it. We play on the bus on our to work, so no Wi-Fi and we have cellular data off in the app because we have a data limit on our phone plan. Your ads use up too much of our data on our phone so we need to keep cellular data off, we will not be turning cellular data back on. Is there a fix coming for this.
We wish we could go back and complete a previous days daily puzzle before this last update stopped it.
Classic minesweeper but way to many adds.
The ads are stupid long. The game isnt worth the ads.
- They removed "custom" for number of mines. 2. The removal of ads option was eventually reset at some point and we had to pay a 2nd time. 3. The support function doesn't respond to us. 4. Are you liking this game? Yes or no. YOU BETTER SAY YES! Reason? They will ask you after EVERY SINGLE GAME if you don't say yes and write a review. 5. This app's original build was fine. Then they added and took away stuff. It deserves this bad review.
We played this for the daily puzzles. The new update wouldnt allow us to go back to days we missed so we were unable to get the monthly trophy in July. So we started strong in August to make sure we got the streak. We did the puzzle Aug 1, went to do the puzzle Aug 2, and the game lost our progress and did not count Aug 1. The controls for setting flags are great, we love the interface, but felt defeated with the bugs making the app not track progress any longer.
Ive had the app for quite a while and like to pay it in the evenings. Recent updates have made it buggy and very hard to use. For example once you finish a round and go to start another it usually gets stuck and we have to close out the app and reopen to use it again.
To many adds and the adds last way to long.
The simple game is taking 172 megabytes on our device. We think its a bit too much. We just made a similar app, which we dont want to advertise here, that takes less that 3 megabytes. Homa, are you thinking about user storage space at all.
Anyone recommend a new minesweeper game? Recent changes have ruined this one. We have played this game daily since 2019 and it has been great fun. Recent changes made where the daily puzzle is the same number of mines. If you hit a ours game over, cant use coins like you used to to move forward. If you miss a day, you cant go back and make it up. Ive used the support feature in the app for months now and no response. Hoping a new update fixes these but if not Ill have to move on.
We have been playing this game since 2019 and have loved it. We have a trophy for every month since January 2019 but this most recent update made it to where we cannot go back an do a day that we missed. Although this does make sense, we missed one day not knowing this update was happening and now we cannot get this months trophy. Its just very unfortunate.
Good game. A few bugs, but nothing super serious. Took away the ability to complete previous daily puzzles which is why it has three stars.
Great retro game. Had some freezing issues that seem to be resolved now. Sent messages to support through the app that were never answered though. Still have an issue with the hints. When we choose to buy a hint (indicates it will cost 150), the game deducts 300 from our total coins every time. Just a mismatch that doesnt detract too much from the game play itself. *editdowngrading to 3 stars because not only has there still been no response/no fix from support regarding the hints issue, but with the daily challenge, you cannot go back and do the days you missed – this is the first game with a daily challenge that doesnt allow you to go back to complete all offered puzzles.
Who doesnt love Minesweeper? Great recreation and of course, fun to play. Unfortunately the lag time / freezing causes too much frustration to make game play worth the hassle. Recommend only if youre a true fan of the game, move at the pace of a sloth, and have a bottomless reserve of patience.
Removing the ability to play past dailies knocked this down from a 5-star app quite a bit imo. As many have pointed out, daily life often keeps us from playing every day. Ive had this app since 2020, and during Covid, it was an enjoyable time sink, and the accomplishment of getting all the trophies for the daily puzzles felt like an nice accomplishment. Why you felt the need to remove this feature is beyond us.
They removed the ability to customize how many mines are in a game board. Now its too easy and not as much fun as before.
Im a newer player to this classic game that we loved on our old PC. Played about a week when new update was made and unhappy that you cant go back and play previous daily challenges. We reached out to support via chat in the app and no response and emailed the address above and no response either. Does anyone monitor these mailboxes? When you hit a bomb and choose between either watching an advertisement to resume or start a new game if you choose start a new game, still forced to watch an advertisement. Very frustrating. And there is a glitch when you choose a new game it doesnt always start and forced to close the app and restart. We would report this as a bug, but no one responds to the inquiries.
Ive loved this app. But with the new update, you can no longer go back and complete daily challenges youve missed. As someone with a busy life, we dont play every day. Ive lost out on the satisfaction we get of playing a few games every few days.
Ive downloaded 4-5 different minesweeper apps trying to find a good one. This way was by far our favorite with the random events and daily challenges. But then they updated the app. When we decided to open the app, we would always beat the daily challenges that happened since the last time we opened the app and continue collecting all the trophies. We had completely every single daily challenge to date, but in this last update, they removed the ability to complete old challenges. A daily streak makes much more sense they completely killing an entire part of the app. Another thing that bugs us is that they added a new transition screen with Avoid X bombs. Im a fairly quick minesweeper player and this screen is subtle, but ruins our times. At least make it an optional screen, especially since the entire point of one of the boxes on the screen is to have the number of mines. We honestly dont mind the ads as much as we mind them killing our daily challenge and ruining our best times. If they could make these changes, we would consider joining back, but for now, Im off this app and onto the next one.
There we were, enjoying Minesweeper and then you served up an add for the male half of the sniff and blow duo. We threw up a little in our mouth and immediately deleted the game. To quote the raven, Nevermore.
Have had this game since Covid started. Now with the new update its not the same. Can no longer make custom boards; which is fun to mess around with and try different things. Can no longer play previous daily challenges if you miss a day; people are busy sometimes so this makes no sense. We dont think the graphics improved anything; we liked how much it looked like the original PC version and now its just trying to be cute. Deleting now that its lost all its best features. Sad.
Prior to the update we paid for the no ads, and after update its saying we need to pay again. We contacted support in app and emailed them. We have heard nothing back. Its been frustrating to say the least. Like others have said, we also miss the past daily challenges. That was such a fun feature to go back and get the days that you missed. Ive tried other minesweeper apps and none have offered what this one has. We love playing it and just wish they would listen to the fanbase.

We loved this game. We paid $2.99 for no ads and loved it more. The next day the game had mysteriously gone away and when we reopened it in the App Store, it was back to ads. Im not paying $2.99 every day for no ads. So no go.
We played this game years ago and when we updated to a new tablet we forgot to reload it. We have since rectified that problem and also play it constantly.
Had been playing daily for over 460 days and receiving the daily bonus until now. When the daily bonus didnt load we decided that was it and no more for us.
Anytime youre playing a medium or harder game you will have multiple times every game where there is no right location and you have to guess. So dumb.
Fun reboot of the original Windows game, but has switches to flag mode on its own and wont switch out.
