How to control Minesweeper
Normal mode:
- Tap a square to clear it.
- Tap and hold to flagging.
- Tap a numbered square next to that many flags to clear the rest.(Quick open)

Simple and fun. Ads are not overly invasive like so many other apps. Can be played offline.
Too addictive. We keep having to delete it off our phone to make myself stop. One request – could there be an undo feature, maybe for the premium? We wouldnt mind if it didnt count toward win stats, but its really frustrating when we lose because Im clumsy instead of because we made a bad choice. Id like to be able to make the choice to keep going with a given game. Just a thought, thanks!

This is by far the best minesweeper app out there. Minimal ads, easy to play, just overall good.
No ads, runs seamlessly, not bloated with useless info graphics or anything. Its Minesweeper, plain and simple. Great for long flights or ignoring your kids.
We’ve enjoyed Minecraft since the early computers came with it. It is a brain game and addictive. Its a classic that belongs in everyones game collection!
The designer understood what was needed for the game to feel fluid on touchscreen. It is very accessible. It keeps track of statistics, and stays true to the classic experience. Much better than any of the other apps we’ve tried that add gimmicks or try to modernize minesweeper. Pick this one up.
Minesweeper is a fun game that requires hard thinking. It is fun once you get the hang of it and we like challenging myself to go farther than the day before. We love this game so much and if you are debating getting it, we definitely recommend it!! Enjoy the game like we do!

Still a fun game even after all these years.
This is the same Minesweeper we had on our iPad one 12 years ago , and it is pretty much perfect for what it does. We downloaded four others to try to find this one, and they were all completely annoying. Unexpected noises, goals, click here for more prizes, and the ads. We dont want any of that crap. All we want to do is play a couple games of Minesweeper and get on with our day. Thank you Spica for keeping the faith.
Best app for the minesweeper game.
This classic game is so good that we need to remove from our device altogether. Otherwise all our time will be spent on this while awake.
Either we have extreme bad luck, or whenever there is a spot where its impossible to figure out and you have to guess, could you make the game detect those spots and switch the bomb positions so that we dont choose the bomb when we have to guess?
Best game to play while pooping.
Being a senior citizen and a numbers geek, we thoroughly enjoy the challenge that ours Sweep gives us. It challenges us to focus and make quick numerical decisions. Im always trying to beat our previous best time.
We have been playing a lot of Minesweeper over the past 4ish years. We have played tens of thousands of games on several different apps and platforms. This one has been our favorite so far.
Just like we played on our computers back in the day, a simple yet addicting game!
We give this game 4 stars. Its a lot of fun, maybe even a little addictive. The only reason we did not rate the game 5 stars is because its too easy to lose by accident, i.e., touching a square unintentionally. The main reason for this is, we think, because the screen is too small to display the whole board at this once. Therefore, the player has to slide the board up, down, left, and right to move to a new area to play. In doing so, it is too easy to accidentally touch a square and open it inadvertently. Otherwise, this game is an awesome mental exercise and lots of fun to play!
Toolbar geometry is way off. Didnt seem to be a problem on our XS Max but is on our 14 Pro. Doesnt affect gameplay but looks terrible.
We love the game! We really get to exercise our brain. They only thing that bothers us is that the game is glitchy. When Im in Quick Flagging mode, it will open the square and show a bomb/game over instead of putting a flag in the square. As far as ads go, we can somehow play for hrs without an ad interruption. And wheni do get a full as, it doesnt run as long as some other apps and we can get out of it relatively quickly without having to go thru various screens. We see constant banner of ads at the very bottom, which we like by way! It doesnt block our game, so thank you for this.
Im a great admirer of this how and been playing it for years. Now this app need major updates for iOS 16 and iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max.
This is a game that challenges your mind to help keep your mind fresh. Many other games are limited in doing that, they are just for entertainment. It would be great to have additional stats that would show how many games that someone has lost by 1 or 2 mines or even how many were lost with 1 – 5 mines left.
Hi, we’ve been playing your version of minesweeper for years. Could you update it to make the puzzles all solvable so the player is never put in a situation where they have to guess to win? That would make this app the best version on the App Store!
Decent minesweeper with minimal ads. Our biggest complaints are not having bigger boards and that you cant listen to spotify and play this.
We try to make good time but the flags eat up whole seconds :( and then a question mark, oy!
We lose 90% or more of the 50/50 guesses. Id say 75% of the games we’ve lost come down to a 50/50 on the last move and we lose almost every single one. Random? We dont see how. We cant te you how many times we’ve had a 1 in 4, 1 in 5, even 1 in 6 or 7 guess and we still lose the vast majority at those odds. Extremely frustrating.
So we beat the challenge, and should be promoted to some arbitrary rank, but it says the ceremony will be carried out in 10 days???? Get bent. So lame. Oh, we can pay money to have it fast tracked. Yea ok ISIS, not today.
Its minesweeper. It works like minesweeper. If you want minesweeper, this is the game for you. Its getting one star because it keeps asking us to rate it every time we start a game. So fine, we rated it. If youre going to force us to rate it, youre not getting rewarded for it. Enjoy your star.
Seriously. After every single game, even when less than five moves were played each time? Pathetic.
When this app starts, they copy whatever is on your clipboard. They can compile this info over time and use this information. What if you copy and paste passwords or bank account information? They now have it.
The ads are intrusive, annoying, and now contain anti-vaxx stupidity. Ill play something else, thanks.
We would give this app five stars — BUT. We have tried everything to turn off ad personalization – changed settings on our iPhone and tried to contact the developer (they never responded). We get ads that track our location and search history which we did not consent to and was never asked for consent, unlike most other apps we’ve downloaded. Hoping this review gets the developer’s attention. We would be glad to update our review and continue using this app if we could turn off ad personalization.
Can barely play this game without it randomly closing. Makes it not even worth it to have this app. When its working its great, when its not, its very frustrating.
This is a classic Minesweeper game, but there are two things that we absolutely hate about it. First of all after playing at for a few days, we realize that the same maps get used over and over and over. They need to have a larger number or random maps. The second thing, is that this app is the only one we have that consistently tries to turn on game center. We hate game center and we wish we could delete it, so the absolute last thing we want is for some app to continuously try to turn it on. We are going to delete this version, and find another developers Minesweeper.
The latest update makes it take foreevvvvverrrr to load. It was always so fast before. Not anymore. Only thing we see is it now supports the latest iOS. Literally nothing else changed. Why does it take so long to load now??
It very seldom lets you win when you are down to the last ours and only two or three possible squares to chose from or when there are two mines and four squares to choose from. In over 90% of cases it will bomb you and say you chose wrong. Statistically a persons choice in those situation will be 50% correct so it has to be cheating.
Used to love using this app to kill time on plane rides, but we just opened it up and got a loud video ad playing that we couldnt turn off. Ridiculous.
After playing long enough on this app and feeling like we were constantly getting unlucky with our final 50/50 guesses in the end of games, we started keeping statistical track of games when they came down to a final 50/50 guess. After 1,731 games, we currently sit at a 38.68% win rate (advanced) and an 82% incorrect to 18% correct guess rate when the final bomb (or 2 in a square) has to be a guess. Which is statistically impossible to get a 50/50 chance wrong that many times with that large a sample. Incredibly frustrating. Try a different app that isnt actively undermining your stats and play.
We tried most of the free Minesweeper apps available and they usually stink. This version feels the closest to the classic desktop version we remember, but with good touch controls. One minor caveat – we recommend the in-app purchase to remove the ads. Loading them up seemed to slow things down a bit and without them, the app is super speedy.
We havent seen 1 ad and we have played 30 games. Other app has 1 or 2 long ads every game that you cant skip. We like the controls scheme also, very intuitive.
Our absolute favorite game, we never get tired of it. We love the puzzle, love the balance of logic and odds. We went hunting for a Minesweeper app for our iPhone years ago when it became more of a pain to play on our Windows PC; tried a few, and settled on this one. This app functions perfectly, uses little storage or processor, never needs updating. If we could change anything, we would add (1) some tracking of results, and (2) some greater emphasis on time – we love playing quick and seeing if we can beat our time.
