MLB Home Run Derby 2023 Review
We started off thinking it was going to be ad filled and basic but boy was we wrong very little ads but you will spend a pretty penny for better features but for the casual player this game is 5 stars.
This is one of the best baseball games we have ever played our only coplois we think you should be able to pick your player from the start.
We are going to the mlb game but it is the Altana braves.
We hit hit 15 homes in a round and we didnt get our achievement for it.
This is a good homerun game mlb.
Can you please add the kingdome from Seattle and put it in the game btw we always loved this game but yea have a nice day.
Lots of inconsistencies in game play. We get that timing is important but when you cant make contact for 4 minutes with the two top boosts activated, then a completely different result the following game with 0 boosts is annoying. Seems to happen a lot more when in multiplayer rounds.
The game has great graphics and thats where the positives end for us. Our player has an epic bat, cleats, gloves etc. And yet when we play head to head and add a power boost the ball never leaves the ground. All we hit is ground balls while our opponent is hitting dingers left and right. Nothing more fun than home run derby games but come on MLB raise your level a little and make it fair. Dont be another money grabbing game developer.
Derby mode is the only mode you can compete and have fun. Multiplayer is so rigged, the computer hits almost twice the rate you can hit. Even if you are winning, the pitcher will start throwing inside, outside, sliders, you name it.. And pitches you normally hit wont make it out of the field. Home runs randomly are not scored. The cards are nearly useless and provide little incentive. The players are all barely 70s power and contact. The bat, gloves, and cleat ratings work against each other and have no logic to their progression. We’ve just now upgraded one bat, and that was just a basic bat, not the one we were using. We’ve never made it past a C- rating in multiplayer because of the rigged algorithm. Also $5 per stadium? What a joke. There is so much that could be good with this game.
This is game is is awesome man we just dont know how to explain it because its just so interesting but theres one thing that could be better probably give the how far it is because we have MLB the show in November. This is none of this is accurate if you can make your racket in the next update, make a tin star rating because we waited 100 bro. This game is the best.
Perfect game to use up time at appointments. You dont have to spend your own cash either.
For baseball fans and baseball players like us will love this game. It is so fun we play it for hours before and after our baseball games on weekends. Awesome underrated game. 5 stars.

This game is awesome. We stayed up all night playing it we give this game a five out of five because of how fun it is you can do many different things like hit home runs go up against different guys and home run derby and many more we recommend this game a lot.
Redownloaded this game after not having it for a while and its just as fun as we remember it being. But theres something wrong with the multiplayer mode. It never wants to load up a match and that keeps us from being able to unlock/win anything that pertains to winning a multiplayer match.
The game wont let us hit the ball and go off track.
Its a good game, but there are some problems. A lot of times when we try to get five more pitches of eagle eye or other bonuses we watch the ads multiple times but it wont give it to m. Also its really really hard to get new jerseys, cleats, hats, and bats; they should make that more easier. Overall it is a good game and we recommend it.
What happened to the dodgers stadium come on. Now we have to pay for a messed up stadium. We just got all of the world classic people and we went to test them out and oh no we could not.
Why are there knuckleball-like pitches in a home derby? Very inconsistent. Can hit plenty in the derby but in head to head, if you dont pay for boosts No chance in winning.. Takes the fun out of playing.
Nothing at all works way too play problems to mention here but you should at the very least test the app to assure that it works with all phones and operating systems This is nuts do you even have a single employee working on the app that has any clue what they are doing Every time u update the game you break something or somethings and we havent been able to play it for well over 2 months now Spend some actual money and hire someone who knows what there doing and fire everyone else whos been updating this game Also try adding some new features to the game its really boring when you do multiplayer and people keep quitting before it starts, penalize them for doing that please.
The game fun but also really easy like once we hit the ball and it hit the fence and it said It was a home run but we also hit another short home run and it was like 479ft and another time we hit it over the center field wall and it said it was 775ft. Thats why we rated it 2 stars. Needs improvements.
How in the world do we just have a bronze Jose rameriez but every game im going against legend Arron judge Corey Seager or Bryce Harper. Im very good at the game and am in A- almost just A but we cant get to a with unfair matchups.
Agree with other reviews. Game doesnt play fairly. For us, the pitching is inconsistent. Can hit 10-12 home runs in a row, then suddenly get sliders, outside the zone and extremely low pictures that cant be hit. Usually starts around the 2:00 mark. Opponent seems to always end with 5/6 straight home runs, where as you may get 4 at bats in that same time frame. Wins dont get the same credit to obtaining a better grade as loses do to get you to a lower grade. Plus, after the last update, we lost roughly 80,000 in coins, 300 megabucks, and our players gloves, bats and cleats that were either earned or bought were no longer present.
Dont download!!! Every single thing cost a 30 second ad! Pitch location is straight up garbage and overall a waste of time!!!
In multiplayer matches, you can go on a streak hitting 20 HRs in a row and the player will always catch up and their count goes up as soon as your count is about to. Its fun but so frustrating to use all the boosts and miss 1-2 swings in a 4 minute match to lose. So obviously rigged.
Horrible game hrs dont count in certain spots.
Gotta be a genius to figure how to start the game as we could not get past player boost so we deleted the game.
How is it that when we downloaded this game both Angels and Dodgers parks came automatically unlocked to use. Yet somehow over the last week or so its not unlocked. Id have to pay for those parks? How is that possible???? It was free with the game??? We reached out to support and got a response on how to stop the game from freezing up??? Really. So very disappointed we did reach out for support and all we got was the run around and our questions being directly avoided.
Everything is way to expensive game always glitches and is so rigged the throw the ball on one side of the strike zone on one pitch and then the other side of the strike the second pitch. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO PURCHASE.
This game has gotten so many bugs lately. You can play 10 games back to back and with all gloves, shoes and bats at the highest you can and have a guy with 105 power and 95 contact and still lose 8 out of 10, and the only wins are against players with significantly lower scores so you only move up 5 points and when you lose you drop 15-25 points. Ridiculous. Absolute theft. Fix your mess developers!!
As has happened before with this app, the latest update has completely ruined the app, and made it near unplayable. And it doesn’t seem like they’re in any rush to fix it. Glad we didn’t waste money investing in this month’s "Season". Home screen will not fully load. Can not bounce between screens without having to restart the app. Absolutely terrible update, and an incompetent follow up to fix it.
Tried the home run derby. Cant get a single home run after trying for 4 minutes straight because the batter hits like a fkng 4 year old girl.
Really fun game and we’ve gotten pretty good. Game, however wont let u win too much. We won 8 head to head contests and the next game it was like the pitcher stsrted throwing whiffle balls.
It started back in September when All of our new iPad was complete we were a starter but now, we are A Allstar at this game. We have won so many home run derbies and lots of multiplayer games so now we are a star so thank you for making this game.
Im a huge baseball fan and we love this game. But, they definitely need to update the game play. We dont understand why were still playing in coors field cuz that was in 21. The 22 all star game has already been played and y havent we played in dodger stadium. Homerun derby mode needs to be needs to be played in dodger stadium and definitely the new players that were in that contest. The two updates have screwed up the points system too. Totally unfair how this current point system works. Not in the players favor at all whatsoever.
Fun game? Sure. Lots of bot reviews? Yup. Worth the in app purchases? Nope. Why am we getting HUNDREDS of cards for the new Cleveland uniforms? Time to tweak the algos. Still cant believe that the titans of the game are not on here. Wheres Ortiz? Where are all the other contestants from previous years? Its the same old players to choose from, even with the silly LTD category. Nobody wants to play HR derby with some middle-tier player with a 80/80 rating. Again, developers, do better. Product owners making the decisions, do better.
Not a bad game, until you get into the head to head competition, more than once, we built up a sizable lead only to have the game throw us pitches in no way could be hit as a hit, let alone a HR. One head to head, the last 2 minutes we got nothing that could be hit as a HR. Another thing, support DOES NOT ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. Play it, but do not pay anything for it!
Fun but needs work and could be glitchy.
This game was fun at first and became our favorite game. However, once you reach a certain level the ball starts getting thrown all over the place and you keep losing game after game. Reached the point where we finally deleted it as we no longer played it. Plus it kept bringing up all these uniforms that you couldnt open and took away from the cards with players on it. Just got tired of it.
