We really love Monomals and have some ideas for new DJs such as Pop, maybe Classical, and Dance DJs. We have produced 11 songs (2 of them our younger sister actually made) 3 gold Records, 2 Diamond. Im a musician who composes and arranges MIDI tracks using piano roll editors and we have to say, this is amazing! The game is cute and fun while catching Monomals but then the real fun starts for musicians when you get to use them, basically as virtual instruments, to create original music. We’ve never played a game quite like this and we love it. We might even try to get our near 3-year old to play with the editor because we think it would be a great way for kids to learn to make music in DAWs. In the beginning youre limited to just 4 tracks (drums, bass and lead) and one monomal (VST), but Im guessing you can expand that to more tracks and get a nice assortment of sounds. We like that you can save original compositions and share them online. You can even get votes and climb the leaderboard with your original tracks and thats awesome. Musicians will love this game, and so will anyone else with a pulse.
For someone who has always been interested in music creation, this presents a fun and easy way to do it. Game itself is a superb action platformer side scroller, giving major SNES vibes.

Fisher, we want to say the actual gameplay was fair/good. We didnt spend a ton of time with it, reasons later in this review. The game is arcade style steer your character and interact with various elements of the environment, avoid the baddies and make it to the boss of each level, who you then capture by steering your character, frequently using the elements present in that level. What we did and continue to find super fun is creating music. Each level you beat in the game adds a new instrument for you to compose with, and that, to us, is the best part of this game. One slight problem/annoyance we have is that all of your compositions are constructed in 4/4 time, meaning that it is difficult to create something like a waltz, for example. It can be worked around, but it makes copying drums/bass to extend out the song a little annoying. Overall, decent game, but to us the mini game of composing and sharing your own creations is the highlight. Thanks for reading, check us out on the weekly leaderboards for created music!
The game is really fun to make music but the levels are kinda annoying and every time we get to the boss it crashes.
When we beat the first challenge of the techno town boss we kicked us out of the game. Now we cant get past stage 4 techno town :( (Mobile IPad)

When we were fighting the Monomals, (it was more like getting them to stop being an introvert) after each section of the battle there would be a 95% chance that the water would glitch, the game would freeze (occasionally crash) and the music would surprisingly keep playing as usual, but no visual effects (like the Monomals music notes) would be seen. Still a great game! We had (and am having) a lot of fun with this game, and we would rate 5 stars if not for that teeeeny weeeeny problem. Bye Bye! Good day to you!
Its a good game but once you get to a certain point its gets sooooooo hard. We like it, just that 4 year olds wont know how to do most of this stuff.
The controls are really bad when we move it goes so far away. Its like we cant control the thing! We dont like the CONTROLS. The music part we like just not the levels.
So when we first started playing the game, it felt right for us. But when we got further into the levels, it began to get more challenging. And we like that! But this is where our rate drops down we were playing one of the levels just when we hit the first obstacle, it was fine. But on the sixth and fifth one, we got stuck and said to myself that Ill try again tomorrow. Sunday: we tried our HARDEST to get around it when we figured out that THEREFORE THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF HERE!!!!!!! So we quit the game and deleted it. It was SOOOOO BAD!

After playing this game for a couple hours, we can safely say that this is a must play! We didnt really expect much from this, but the eye-catching colors and adorable style threw us into it, and as we played we only got more and more impressed. The music maker is what especially caught us by surprise. Fantastic job on this game, it is well worth the recognition and if you havent already, give it a shot! Dont stop the bop!

This is a really great game, but there is a glitch. One time, we made our own song, and submitted it on Hot 99, so we could use it in the levels but then, we were Playing Rocky Rhino, but we didnt want our music to be there, so we tried to turn it off but it was not working. Then we decided to delete the song because we thought it was work. But it didnt! Now every time we try to play the Rock Ridge, the app crashes and sends us back to the home menu! Please fix this!

We were almost done with catching all the monomals in 2020, and we deleted the game because our subscription to Apple Arcade ended. We bought it again, redownloaded Monomals, and our progress is wiped! Could you guys please try to make it so your progress saves even when you delete the app? Thanks!
This is a great idea and a great game, but we just encountered a bug where we got hit by a spike and was pushed outside the map, and couldnt get back in.
It is one of the best games we’ve ever played but it has to much like obstacles like that big fish that hits its head. Dont get us wrong we love a challenge, but we think that fish is a little to much. Other than that we really enjoy this game, thanks bye.
Probably one of the best mobile games we’ve ever played but upon reinstalling after playing it a year ago we found our iCloud save gone and there is nothing we can do about it, no wonder we dont interest time into mobile games even if they are high quality, if we spend time with one and then decide to delete to free space or when we unsubscribe from Apple Arcade Im playing Russian roulette with our save data so Im better off playing on platforms that give us absolute security over our saves. Without this horrendous issue the game is 5 stars.
When you go through the honey and get to the next jet pack part you only have limited time and the plat form is huge so its impossible to beat that part.
Every time we try to login it shows the Apple arcade then it shows the loading for the game and then after its done loading it shows a BLACK SCREEN!!!!!!! In the game crashes and send us back to our home screen on our iPad its so annoyingits so bad word annoying!!!!!!!! They need to have a date to fix the logging in crashing so the game will crash you every time you try to login. We CANNOT PLAY THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we click on the record it makes a noise than stops if we click open it says it is 2 seconds long no matter what one we click on we really want to hear our songs please help Ok so when we click on it it makes the same sound as if we clicked on a 1 second song.
First of all, this game has great levels with challenging courses, but with checkpoints spaced around the level. It is a perfect combination of hard, but not too hard. Second, this game has amazing graphics and unique creatures, making the game one of a kind. Third, its music maker is easy to use for people who have no idea what they are doing (like me), but can be used to create songs that can go in any direction. We have completed all of the 28 levels and we really hope there will be more! Our only complaint is that every once in a while, it suddenly crashes, but that isn’t a big deal, because it does not happen very often. We hope the developers create more!
There have been so many times where we want to change a huge structure of a song Im making but in order to that you have to delete each individual monomal because if you press and hold to choose how much area you want to delete, it will delete Monomals you dont want to place down again. For that matter you might as well just restart the entire song. Plus there is a bug where if you try to delete something while the bar is moving, the game will place a monomal on top of the monomal you wanted to delete and it will crash.(I might be wrong on how the glitch is activated but after countless crashing thats what we’ve come up with) Can you implement an option where you all the player to turn all green snake Monomals into red octopus monomals So that if they want to hear what the song would sound like when doing so, it wouldnt be so time consuming and glitchy. We love this game very much and Im always making songs that Im not sure if we want to publish but still keep editing them to our liking. We absolutely love the new rock and roll DJ.
Good game but it drains our battery so fast and our iPad runs very hot. New iPad too.
There are some bugs like when you die in a certain area you cant move to the right causing you to start the level over. Also we got out of bounds and it was really annoying because we were literally almost at the end and it took us 1 hour to get there (because Im not good at the game)

Beautiful platformer with a nice flare and friendly vibe. We have just started playing but we are really enjoying it. Optional music creation feature that is really cool. The even have a chart list for people who want to publicize their creations, although no one has posted any unfortunately. Anything requiring multiplayer on Apple Arcade seems to be lacking. Of all the multiplayer we have tried except for the LEGO brawl game we were never paired with someone. Wow of topic but This game is a diamond in the rough for Apple Arcade games that while plenty few stand above the rest. Cough… Cough…. If only games like Outlander which is another game we enjoy from the Apple Arcade and this was available regularly on the Apple store we would just purchase them separately to play. Cough… Cough…. Apple Arcade is not worth it for the few games that are decent to play…. Cough cough…
Our 4 YO loves and plays this game every night before bed. With that being said there is not one night that doesnt involve a bug/glitch that causes him to have to restart the level losing all his hard work in the process. The good news is that we dont mind helping him out since the game is probably the only Apple Arcade game that Id consider replay able as an adult, but this definitely needs to be fixed. **For a few examples, there is a glitch that restarts you at your last checkpoint but whatever you do you cannot move, there are another few Boss levels that cause an endless uncontrollable, inevitable death loop at the respawn. Youre unable to control anything… You just respawn and explode. Hoping the bugs get patched soon! Please keep making titles like this for the Arcade!!!
