User Reviews on Mystery Tales: Dangerous

Nice storyline with lots of mini games and HOPS… Ability to change the difficulty levels is a plus too. We wish we could find the last collectible weapon though…

Its hard to find games that are fun, and not to dark. This one covers the bill. Its a good story line, fun hops,

Lots of game, graphics are awesome, intriguing from the beginning to the end. Great game.

We have to say that we thought the game was good. The only issue we have is the mini games. Instructions are not clear and games are not fun to play. We like hidden objects, more of those would be better.

We really think the storyline couldve been more creative, from the monsters to the mini games. We think we skipped about nine mini games of the same type with the markers that you have to move a certain number of times. You couldnt be more creative and come up with different games for each many game? And why not offer the matching option for every mini game? Why just some of them? We like that option. And if youre going to say easy, it should really be easy. Then in the bonus game, The museum owner does the same thing and is in trouble again with an even more corny monster… That makes no sense. This is just not worth the money.

We love these type of games and usually buy the one on sale for the week. Great price for around 6 hours of entertainment. We have played dozens of these games, mostly from Big Fish and Elephant Games, so we have a lot of experience to compare this one. The app itself ran fluently with no glitches, no issues. Excellent. Our lower rating for this one had to do with the mini games they were were so boring, almost all ask you to rotate or move things in a circle. Lots of variations of moving things in circles. Or possible getting one object to another space, often by . Moving in circles! The hidden objects were very well done, with tasks you must do inside the hidden object game in order to find the target item. The story line was not our favorite and the scenes were consistently gothic, so if you like that sort of thing, youll enjoy this one, but we prefer more modern day or fun scenes, the ones with a variety are the best. Very little variety here. Overallits a good game and runs well. We can recommend it for other users.

NO: Special Glasses (I deleted the game after seeing these lame things) , NO: Crows or Crowing in the background (obnoxious- theyre in EVERY game!) NO: Cell Phones unless theyre actually functional/interactive Can ANY Developer come up with unique and creative concepts?? PLEASE!!!

Just hate the glasses. Everything slows down when they are used. The game doesnt flow. Too much back and forth.

Love the hidden letters and cursed objects.

We did not find the story riveting but we are entertained. This game is chock full of things to accomplish. We enjoyed the puzzles and HOS. Liked the length of the game; very long bonus chapter. One of the better games released recently we thought.

How many times should you have to find a broom to clear away cobwebs? Or find food (or a whistle) to distract/scare away animals? Nothing new here although the game was long and the artwork good. Some games were impenetrable to us – even with instructions. Still waiting for a game with McGyver elements – one where we dont have to find a pickaxe to bash open a box when there a perfectly good rock in our inventory.

We were so excited to see another installment of this series. But as we played we realized that the plot and action was lacking this time. You could guess what was going to happen next. We were bored by the end wondering when it would reach the end. Hopefully the next installment will have the excitement and plot twist of the previous ones.

Nothing really original, but plays pretty well. Has match 3 available if you tire of the hog. Seems a tad dated but its a decent time waster. Do play the freebie and see if you are interested Update- deducted a star due to short length. Also in the custom settings the easy vs hard setting only refers to what settings certain mini games start on.

We feel badly that we are not rating this game higher but we felt that it was somewhat dull. Actually we must have been very bored because we fell asleep not once but twice while playing! Of course Domini does provide many bells and whistles. The entire game is customizable, from your difficulty settings, to showing collectibles on the map, to easy vs. Hard options on certain puzzles/games. For collectible lovers, there are diary pages, notes, morphing medieval weapons and coins you may use to decorate a boudoir. A marked teleport map was provided to transport you nearly instantaneously between locations. There was a plethora of tasks to accomplish at most locations. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. Although there was no cohesive journal objectives were regularly updated. The HO scenes had the usual variation or you could play match-3 as an alternative. This game had a large amount of puzzles and games, which generally we enjoy but (Kim, we like your new word!) so many of them were of the boring rotational genre that it mildly irked us. We thought the graphics were not the best that we have seen from Domini. They were extremely blurry and muddy, and it seemed like the pervasive color was blue. Or maybe its our mood! The storyline was not novel or unique, and the gimmick in this game (paranormal glasses) was the same as in the rest of the series. It would have been nice to have had some new inventions to use. This game was on the long side inclusive of the bonus adventure. The game ran smoothly as Domini has excellent quality assurance. There was nothing wrong with this game. It just didnt excite us and we felt a sense of tedium as we played it. We wish we had enjoyed it more and could rate it more highly, but to us it was a formulaic game, and our review will actually be 3.5 stars. We think we were a bit harsh in rating this game, and it would be unfair to take out our suffering from our accident on this developer, who gives us basic but good gameplay. Happy Independence Day to all gamers! UPDATE: BigFish actually gave us a game today. Unfortunately we are not a fan of this series, Mystery Case Files, and lately not a fan of EIPIX. We will wait on reviews from other trusted players.

We think that has been our view of almost every game we have played recently, that they are all too short. Often, the remaining game play following the demo is not substantial enough to warrant the purchase, but you never know that until you have made the purchase. We often long for the days when games provided hours of entertainment. First game we ever played, Zork. That was in the mid 80s. Interactive fiction with no graphics, but hours and hour and even days of game play!

We were pleasantly surprised that we got a new game on Sunday, possibly due to the outpouring of reviewers’ complaints over the denial of a "real" hidden-object adventure this past Wednesday. For this new release, we are grateful. However, because of the predictable storyline, as well as the pedestrian gameplay, we have become a bit bored with this sequel. One distinct feature is that under custom settings, you can select a difficulty setting for the game; furthermore, you can chose between difficulty modes for most of the individual puzzles. You utilize the same-old gimmicky trope, which, in our opinion, fails to add any layer of inventiveness; however, we’ll refrain from commenting about it. The assorted HOSs are interactive, but we miss the puzzle-like elements we see in other developers’ games. We have not detected any novel techniques in any of the HOSs, it’s just straightforward gameplay. If you are not a lover of puzzles, please be aware that the tip of the scale heavily weighs in favor of puzzles, which delights us since we are a total "puzzle-saurus" (self-coined term expressing our insatiable hunger for an abundance of puzzles). Some puzzles are very challenging and take time to solve; unfortunately, many are composed of the "moving one part affects the other parts" format which turned stale after a while. The few collectibles are, as usual, entertaining, as you get to read about interesting medieval weapons, and decorate a room. In our opinion, none of the features are memorable. We’re slightly disappointed that the majority of the puzzles are described as above. That made the game less enjoyable and more tedious, on top off the lack of innovative qualities. Even the immersive animations are sparsely presented compared to their other games. For us, playtime is a decent length due to the time it takes to solve the more challenging puzzles. The transition is seamless, and we’ve no glitches to report. Our true rating is 3.5 stars, but since our attention has been drifting away, we’re lowering our rating to a final three stars.

We could only give this three stars. We usually like Mystery Tales, but this particular storyline has been done too many times. Guy like shes daughter/wife/both. Must bring them back to life. But dude is dead himself. And how many amulets and crystals can you use in one game. We did like the graphics, and most of the gameplay. But it might be time for a fresh storyline.
