What Makes NPCGen5e Stand Out
NPCGen5e is a tool for fifth-edition Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Masters. It randomly creates an NPC to use in your world, based on the rules laid out in the Dungeon Master's Guide and Player's Handbook, with a little extra flavor from yours truly!

This latest version of NPCGen5e comes with some feature request, bug fixes, and some beneath-the-cloak improvements.
We won't bore you with the nitty gritty details, but this version should be faster and more accurate in general!

New Features and Improvements:
- Users can now affect the height of NPC portraits in their saved NPCs list; to do so, head on over to the settings tab

Player Experience Highlights
Community Insight:
Best npc generator we have found. Well worth the $2 dollars. Heck we would have spent double that. What makes it worth it is to export out to xml for VTTs like encounter plus. Our only complaint is not being to change the name, but we can work around that.
The filters now work and so this has become much more useful.
We paid for the platinum level so we could use the filters but the filters tab does not work.
We purchased the highest premium level so we could generate 20th level NPCs. Clicking filters does nothing. Ive restored purchases and still nothing also, there does not appear to be a way to EDIT what was created.. At the moment it looks like your stuck with what is generated.
Need a quick random NPC? This is a great solution. You can even generate several and save them for later. Also, the developer replies to these reviews, so if you have a problem, dont hesitate to contact them.
As a fairly new DM running a custom campaign, NPCs are a pain to come up with, especially on the fly. Once we got the app we almost immediately got the platinum version (what a steal at so cheap!) and haven't looked back. It's great at what it does, and helps a ton to figure out what kinda person that merchant is going to be. That being said, we hope the app continues to grow and become more in the future. It has some issues still, but for a small developer making this app, we love supporting it and we'll happily use it in our games.
The app crashes every time we select a new generated character.
Our app is constantly crashing and we can barely use it. Really disappointed seeing as we have purchased the platinum version.
We would love to use this app, but it crashes at random, sometimes even when just opening the app. Ill try again and change our rating if the crashes stop.
Im running this app on both our iPhone 12 as well as our iPad. In both cases, it works well up and to the point that you try to use any filters. As soon as you tell the app that you want a particular race, level or challenge rating it will crash and reload, losing anything you were doing. It only successfully generates a character one out of 10 times. If the crash issue could be fixed, this could easily be a five star app.
We feel its a very well made app and will see many uses at our table. Im ignorant to how apps are made but would love to have a way to edit and insert custom races into the generator or races not covered in current version. Thank you for your work.
Should be able to use levels AND CR without the app brainfarting itself.
Great app definitely will be using in our games. A few of the characters we had generated had the same trait of having a lisp we dont know how many traits are programmed but is definitely worth the upgrade to platinum.
Very well put together app. Would like to be able to specify a specific level of npc to create. For example a halfling thief cr15 level. Other than that, very nice app.
Great app, we wish we could have a saved folder with npc's it generated that we liked. Also we wish there was a capacity to set parameters for they types of npc's created. We feel that the ability to generate NPCs up to 20th level without the capacity to utilize it is an unfortunate waste of a purchase. If the app had these features, we believe it would be a 100 fold improvement.
