How to play:
Both players take turns placing disks on the board with their assigned color facing up. Any disk of the opponent’s color that is in a straight line between the disk you just placed and another disk of yours on the field will be turned over to match your own color. The players proceed to strategically reverse the disks in their favor until both players have no more legal moves to make.

Cant play with our friends. Too hard.
It doesnt let us play music on the app.
This game is really fun, but the timer feature is very annoying. This game can easily be 5 stars if there was a display for the timer or some que to know when Im running out of time. Ive lost oven half of our games because we didnt know how much time we had to make a move. It is very frustrating, but this can easily be solved.
Game is good. Sad that you can cheat, even sadder that losers are so pitiful that they would cheat at a board game.
Good game, but appeares there are people that has a way for cheating- in particular, when they are loosing, that dont move for much longer then the timer cut off – sometimes even for 5 min, and then, all of a sudden you loose because you run out of timeextremely frustrating. One of those players is you will wait no matter what and others. Please fix those glitches and eliminate the option for people to cheat.
OMG this game is a bit old, but it still is SUPER fun.
We love this game, addicting and challenging. There is still a couple bugs like being thrown off in middle of game, and game freeze at end of game. Timer runs out and you lose. Thats annoying when you are winning . Over all fun app.
Can you please make it so you can play a friend on the same device while playing on an iPad.
We really like this game as a child and just found this game again at the age of 48.
We really like this game but you cant change colors so you can go first and you cant chose the A.we. Difficulty so we always get crushed like 30 to 12. You can also play online but we dont do that so cant help you with that.
We like this game and we purchased ad free, but Im unable to play any music or podcasts while playing the game which is extremely lame.

Why can we not put it anywhere make it so when you cant attack the person can put it anywhere with a message but not on top the opponents.
Game has become overrun with computer players and more and more ppl are using cheat programs. Some have even found a hack to take squares that they shouldnt be able to get or get the win even when the game ends with them having fewer chips on the board.
The game crashes upon launch when connecting to Game Center. EVERY TIME.
So playing this game is fun but there is one problem. If your playing offline mode with an AI it makes the computer win. We don't know if its where Im placing the pieces, but its a big problem for us!!!!!!(our smiles melting).
The game needs to fix its static coding. Player quit the match and it marked it as a tie for us even though the screen said we won. Game didnt load and it marked it as a tie as well.
Ive had to uninstall/install several times. It keeps freezing up when we try to start an online game.

It would be good if it worked. Constantly crashing, offline mode never loads. Terrible app.
App started out really nice. The amount of difficulty levels are strange. Now the app stopped working, we can open it and enter a game but nothing happens.
Every other game, very often it glitches and shows a blank screen. This messes up the score because we have to exit and there wasnt a game to play since it glitches. Also, would be great if time limit for each move was shorter. Other apps offer time limit options so the player can choose how long the wait time is before game starts.
The latest update to introduce bottom banner ads during gameplay has caused the game to become extremely flaky where neither player seems to be able to move. It seems like the ad loading blocks gameplay, so if an ad fails to load, gameplay cant continue.
We prefer to pay a one time fee to block ads. Otherwise the app is great.
After playing a 30-50 games or so, the game stops loading the 4 tiles in the middle to start the game and doesnt load the other players name thing at the top so you have to delete the game and redownload it or you cant start playing.
We were not matched with players of the same skill level. We were so humiliated.
Game freezes regularly and then hits you with a loss for not moving quickly enough. Huge drag and needs to be fixed badly.
Overheats our iPhone X even when it is the only app open on airplane mode with the screen brightness down sitting in a cool room with a fan blowing directly on our phone with no case on it.
We REALLY love this game. The GUI is great but there have been several games where we are in a position to take most of the board and magically it says game over and the opponent wins without finishing the game. We havent timed out either its usually their turn when this happens. Are there people cheating the system out there.
The difference in difficulty between the first two computer opponent levels is wayyy too big. This makes it hard to ramp up your skill level. Otherwise – app is fine.
Loss of stars because offline play will not load.
Very frustrating to win or lose a well played online game before completion because the app crashes or server fails.
Ive beaten some of the best but certain people use software to win it takes the fun out of playing. Black screen so you would lose among other cheating software . Whoever created this app and dont monitor it makes us wonder.
The Lite Games Othello has a flaw in the scoring. They have not found a way to have players of similar skill play against each other. The games algorithm seems to have been programmed for one to only have a winnable game in the first game, then one is matched with a player of exceedingly high skill almost always. The game also actually cheats by having an opponents hand literally switch away from what the tile placement should be. It seems that the main goal of the game is to prevent a player from having a high level of consecutive wins AT ANY COST even to the legitimacy of games played. Its really pathetic.
To play 1 offline game and find the remove ads option we had to watch 8 ads 8!!! Just leaving the game and returning to the menu was 2 more ads. Removing ads is $1 a month. Theres no 1 time fee. Play it on a browser or something; this is ridiculous.
This is a well designed app to play, however the amount of ads is ridiculous. The cost to remove the ads is crazy expensive. If you like Othello, check out The Othello. The IU is not quite as nice as this one, but you can remove the ads for only $2.99z.
This is to warn anyone as naive as us away. You spend more time waiting for the ads to end than you do playing ONE game. It is maddening. So disrespectful to us.
App just stops loading the center pieces to play single-player. Literally just cant play at all. Only way to fix it is uninstall and reinstall. Too many bots in multiplayer to make the game worth while.
Dose not let u choose your own moves it dose it for you.
Theres no reason this app needs to pause spotify. Im here for music first, Othello second. Know your place spits on you.
This was a good game until the developer placed banner ads on the bottom of the game board making it impossible to concentrate while playing. Now the game is crap.
We learned to play Othello as a child. We truly love this game. The one improvement we wish the app would implement is if a player quits or leaves a game before it is completed (they quit mid-game because they realize they made a poor move and they are going to lose) that that player be penalized some way. Maybe put in a time out where they can not play for 1 hour or 1 day or whatever, just so that they are given an incentive to not quit early just because they are losing. Or maybe give them a special BADGE by their name that says we quit when we see Im not going to win so that those of us who DO PLAY UNTIL THE VERY END can see the badge and DECLINE to play the game with them! We know players can be BLOCKED, and that helps a little but there are still plenty of sore losers out there that just leave, and its annoying. However, the game itself is addictive and fun and overall this is a good app.
Our most favorite game of all time.
We played a lot on coolmathgames but we wanted to get better and explore the game. We played on the hardest difficulty and won them we just played our first online match and it was harder than playing the cpu. But we won, whoever that Japanese played was definitely did their best and we enjoyed the game thoroughly. We cant wait to buy our own board and teach our girlfriend so we can always play it together forever.
Settings/options do not give the Choi of what color a player wants to be.
Love this game but tonight on several occasions the game did not give us options that were available for our move and dud not turn every disc over that could gave been turned over. Then tried to update the app thinking that would help and can find no way to update.
Ability to play live online is nice, but we just lost a game on time because theres no clock visible and the limit is apparently only 15 seconds or so.
Good version of Othello for on the go, however, the full screen ads are too common and long. We would gladly pay a one time fee of $5 or possibly even more to stop seeing them, however, the publisher opted to offer a greedy and unnecessary subscription model instead. The actual game is well made, but making players pay recurring fees to hide obnoxious adverts is super lame.
We guess we played it wrong in the 80s but our version was a better game. The option to play any square was super fun.
Half the time we cant load games. The board sits there with no pieces if we try to play offline.
