Dive into Out There Chronicles – Ep. 2

The next chapter of the highly-anticipated Sci-Fi saga inspired by Out There, the multi-award-winning space exploration game.

After fleeing America in a ramshackle ship, Darius and his ragtag crew crash on a desert planet. He wakes in a sorry state, alone on the purple desert planet.
In this chapter, Darius must survive on a planet almost as unwelcoming as a local population that worships a mysterious Winged God. What happened to his crew? Did Nyx survive? And most importantly, how the hell can he get off this cursed planet?

Out There Chronicles is a unique adventure set several million years before Out There. Where do the Arks come from? What are the Cubes? Fans of the original game will find answers to some questions, but others will remain a mystery.
You’ll also meet various alien races and get the opportunity to learn more about their people… If you can master their language, of course.

In this universe that is so far from your own in distance and in time, a sharp mind and an instinct for survival are your only weapons. Friendships can be forged and ancient rivalries re-emerge through your encounters with almost-human and less-human races. Will you be able to distinguish friend from foe?
As in the original game, a single human is unable to face the forces of the universe alone. Achieve your goals by exercising diplomacy when needed, and seizing opportunities when they present themselves.

Written by FibreTigre, author of the original game, Out There Chronicles offers an epic story that will delight science fiction fans in search of new experiences.
Brilliantly illustrated by top French SF artist, Benjamin Carré, and equipped with a simple interface, Out There Chronicles will take you on a journey of adventure, even if you’ve never played a video game before.

Find out what gamers are saying about Out There Chronicles – Ep. 2:

Love this world they have created. Any review saying there is no solution just didnt figure it out. This episode is shorter than the first. Length of game is our only complaint.

A wonderful story told in a masterful way, recommended to anyone who enjoys such experiences. Please keep updating and bug fixing , thank you developers!

Fantastic story, always intriguing and wonderfully alien! Beautiful artwork that holds up the feel of the story. It really draws you in and makes you want to see the story through. We love the aspect of being able to choose how you respond to situations; and although its inflexible at times, it adequately satisfies the desire to choose the responses youre comfortable with, whether youre the kind of person that wants everyone to be their friend, or enemy. Theres nothing out there quite like the Out There chronicles, and we eagerly anticipate the next segment!

Its 100% linear with one ending. Beautiful graphic though..

The story is intriguing, and the puzzles are interesting to work through. There is a bug in the large battle with Horatio where if you decide on bad battle plan ideas and then talk to Subtle about the Jesus-like dream you had about him, the checkpoint is placed there so you cant change the other battle plan elements and are locked into an endless losing loop.

Your choices matter – not just in this game but in future chapters. This is possible because most of the game is in text. The story is good. For the next game, we hope there are even more choices and multiple major endings for the finale. What we didnt like was that in many cases there was only one ultra specific solution instead of multiple solutions. Minor gripe if your choices have major consequences and theres a ton of replay ability.

We bought this on v1 and they finally fixed a bug where we were stuck on an infinite loop with v1.0.1. Now Im stuck on another loop and cant enter the ship without being noticed no matter what sequence we use. Infinitely annoying, so Ill have to wait until they fix it. Episode 1 was great so if thats any indication of this episode, when its fixed, it will be great! Also, there are a lot of continuity errors and spelling errors in this so far. We got a spear from Yennega, then we have to get another spear from the arsenal to hunt? What?

Game was great until we got to a point where Im hailed as a hero for taming the desert. Next thing we know Horatio shows up orders our death and the checkpoint starts us at the same place where Im hailed as a hero. No choices to make, no where to go, same thing over and over. Cant go back, have to start over.

Im stuck in a loop where Im a huge battle with Horacio and we tell Nix to come save us, but before she gets there we always die.
