OXENFREE II: Lost Signals is a Roleplaying/Adventure game from Netflix, Inc., first launched in 12th July 2023.
It’s rated 12+ and currently has 373+ ratings on the App Store.
What Makes OXENFREE II: Lost Signals Stand Out
Available exclusively for Netflix members.
Shadowy cult members. Ghostly radio signals. Spacetime portals. Investigate a dark new mystery in this interactive story game set in a familiar world.
TVs turn on and off. Planes lose radar. Radio stations can't broadcast through the static. In the small coastal town of Camena, unnaturally occurring electromagnetic waves are suddenly causing interference with electrical and radio equipment. Reluctantly, Riley Poverly returns to her hometown to investigate the mystery, but what she finds is more than she bargained for.
OXENFREE II: Lost Signals is the mind-bending follow-up to the critically-acclaimed narrative adventure game OXENFREE from Night School, a Netflix Game Studio. Play the new story as a standalone, or dive deeper into the OXENFREE universe by playing the original to find connections — it's your choice. As you play, you'll shape the story through your choices. How you choose to deal with the supernatural events at hand will forever alter the future in this thrilling story.
YOUR CHOICES MATTER
• Shape everything through your conversations and dialogue choices: Forge a deep friendship with an old acquaintance from high school or opt to ignore a lost fisherman in need.
• Your choices influence who Riley becomes, your relationships and the story options available to you.
START CHATTER FROM ANYWHERE
• Use an all-new walkie talkie conversation system to chat with contacts and uncover useful insights about the mysteries of Camena. Ask for info, check in with the locals, or completely ignore them. It's your call to make — and your choices have consequences.
STOP A MYSTERIOUS CULT
• Five years ago on nearby Edwards Island, a few teenagers unwittingly opened a portal, creating a rift between realities and timelines. Now, members of a mysterious cult-like group called Parentage are deliberately trying to open a new portal to pull something out. Who are they? What do they want? Are they trying to contact ghosts?
TUNE-IN TO THE RADIO
• Ghostly signals are piercing through the frequencies of Camena. Tap into the eerie sounds and static using OXENFREE's signature radio mechanic.
• Communicate with the supernatural, manipulate the world and travel to the past by tuning into time tears: unnatural fissures in the time-space continuum.
SAVE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING
• Your future was on the line in OXENFREE and those stakes are even higher in the story of OXENFREE II.
• Explore, climb and rappel across Camena’s beautifully treacherous landscape. Take risks and see where the story takes you. It might be dangerous and scary. But it could also save the future. Not only for Riley but for everyone.

Community Insight:
The game is so good we love it so much we wish there were other games like this.
We played this game for the first time this week and spent hours devouring every bit of it! We played the previous game several years ago and remembered it being incredibly impactful on our teenage years and so we decided to give this one a try. The writers for OXENFREE do an amazing job taking deep messages about the scary things in everyday life like grief, becoming a parent, learning how to move on and intertwining those messages with an out-of-this-world thrilling adventure. We have shed tears over every game so far in this franchise and will wait in anticipation in case this team ever decides to design another one.
We were worried that this game wouldnt live up to the first one but it absolutely blew us away! The storyline is riveting, the art is beautiful and it had just the right amount of horror to keep us at the edge of our seat! We havent enjoyed a game as much as we did this one in a long time! What a beautiful ending to this story!! We can tell that a lot of people poured their hearts into the making of this game! Well done.
Absolutely loved the game! The first one was great, but this sequel felt bigger, and the story was so gripping! We love this format too. We really hope there will be a third one at some point soon.
We have to admit Im not a fan of thriller or horror style games, but the original Oxenfree came with such amazing recommendations we decided to try it. We hardly put our phone down until Id finished the story. We were so worried that the sequel would fall flat and there would just be a rehashing of the first story, but we were blown away by the new web the developers crafted tying new and old stories together like a master weaver. Needless to say, Im up way too late and our phone battery is almost zero but we had to finish it. It will pull at your heartstrings, take your breath away, and leave you thinking of the characters well after you are done. The only negative: Sometimes the click zone to activate actions is hard to hit on a mobile device, but we promise, its worth it. We just wish we didnt have to click so close to the edge of the phone or near the Dynamic Island because it can be frustrating at times.
We absolutely love this game, the voice acting is top tier, Im hoping a third game is on the way because we cant get enough of this, its genuinely just so cool. We love the islands and how much there is to explore! We kinda wish there was a romance choice for Riley and Jacob, but its alright, not everything needs romance.
Its good but we wish you had brought back Alex cause its all new and overall its a really great game great progress. If you make a chapter 3 you should bring Alex or Riley.
At first, we thought this game or rather both of these games were gonna be cringy and predictable. However, we were proven wrong. The storytelling was absolutely fantastic and each of the characters unique stories added to the plot. The radio ghosts had us on our heels. They would appear at random and you would have to solve fun mysteries that would enable you to protect your allies. And even yourself in the game. In our personal opinion the only negative attribute to the game was the tools and game mechanics. Sometimes the mechanics and tools would glitch during the game. Even so, this should not detract from playing these games. Each Oxen Free game was thrilling and took our attention above everything else. If you like a good story or just like solving mysteries or both, we recommend playing both Oxen Free games.
The first game was difficult to play because it lacked volume settings to be able to actually hear the dialogue over the music. Luckily there is volume settings now, so that issue was gone in this 2nd game in the series. Past that the only other improvements we came across were that there were instances where your character would actually run and a decent speed instead of just moving super slow the entire time, but the map is a lot bigger and harder to navigate, so it doesnt quite make up for that. Pathing was slightly better, but it still ran into a lot of situations where you could just stuck. Like when climbing your character would just climb up a few steps, then down a few, over and over and over and over and over again. Occasionally indefinitely. Other frustrating things that probably should have been caught in QA are the few spots where sound cuts out. The fact the Apple Pencil cant be used in many of the mini games, though thats a bit in line with the first game since the Apple Pencil failed to work in the map in that one. It did work for the radio in the first game though, and it completely refuses to work for that in this version. Oh, and for some reason they removed the hold to walk function. So now with a larger map, strange positioning of the camera, and limitations on how far ahead you can place the movement reticle, the bulk of the game is just constant tapping so you can keep the character moving at a reasonable pace. Overall, it was an okay game. It was just held back by all of these weird design choices that some playtesting a quality QA time could have helped iron out to make the game more enjoyable and less monotonous.
PLS MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT THIS ITS SOOOOO COOOOOLLLL.
We played number one , and found out there a number 2. We were so stoked to hear that! And number 2 did not disappoint one bit, we absolutely love it, and the way it is connected to number 1. We really hope you make a number 3 we love love this game.
We loved everything about it, it just shouldnt have ended.
This game is amazing cause of the characters, the relationships, the gameplay, the views, the landscape, The lore and even more we also love finding little details and finding anomalies.
Guys do not download it! We repeat do not download it! It will take most of your time.
Such a fun game! The story is very interesting and creative.
We LOVE the story (this goes for the first oxenfree too.) there are bugs like with the climbing and itll kick us from the game sometimes but other than that, theres no problems for us. FIVE STARS.
Absolutely amazing game. We finished the first and second game in about three days. We wish it didnt end. Loved the storyline. The characters. The graphics. The relationships with the characters. We even felt relatable to some of the characters. Such a good game. Creators did an incredible job. Thank you.
Fun game, interesting storyline. However, it kept randomly crashing. Got to the end if the game and crashed every time so cant finish game. Disappointing.
There is a bug getting to the gate after speaking to the park ranger. We would give this all 5 except for that so we cannot finish the game.
This game is really good dont get us wrong the first one is better we didnt get to finish this one but it got kinda boring towards the middle.
Im a long term fan of OXENFREE, Im just really sad that often when we get through a significant portion of the game, when we come back it is not saved. We have just been restarted to the beginning which can be so frustrating especially when there are already time loops happening in the game (which are a great part of the plot). It can just be frustrating, we love the game just want it to save.
It had happened twice now, where our progress was not saved we had to delete it because we were so far we were enjoying it until this happened.
Absolutely loved the first one, loved this one but we cant seem to finish the game due to it not being auto saved. Two stars cuz idk how it ends. Lost hours of progress twice. First time it was late so we went to bed, woke up the next morning and it started over, thought maybe we did something wrong so we just started over. 2nd time Im like 2/3 hours in and the app just crashed. Reopened the app and theres no game file at all. Everythings just gone.
Ive been playing this game for the past 2 days. Ofc we mean we tried. Im playing on an iPad and we found out about this game because we played the first game on our tv. That one only had 1 very minor problem but Netflix tv games are a beta so no complaints there. We saw the had the second one on here and we decided why dont we play it. We regret that now because this game has crashed 5 times and Ive had to replay the SAME PART 4 TIMES. We honestly dont know if we can bring ourselves to play the past 45 minutes of a game over and over and over. The first time minor crash and we decided yeah not that bad because we wasnt super far ahead of where it saved at the second time we were way farther ahead and we were slightly mad but we got over it quick after we got back to where we were. We honestly went to bed because Id been up half the night playing this game and the first one we finished in 2 hours. We went to bed woke up and looked at the game to nobodys shock we had to replay that part. We were pretty mad but it was the next day so we decided to give it some credit and say maybe it was meant to be finished in one go. Ofc sense it was morning and Im and adult we need to do stuff during the day but to our luck it crashed and exit the game for us to find out later we HAD TO REPLAY THAT PART AGAIN. Not gonna lie we hate that part now. Its stuck in our head and on loop but we decided this time Im gonna delete it and redownload sense this game is a big one we waited 15 minutes for it to download. It actually worked for a while till ya know it didnt luckily its saved 1 part ahead of the last one. But yeah still crashed and we saw that we would have to replay that part 1 more location ahead and we cannot bring ourselves to listen to the same dialogue on repeat for the rest of our life. Game 5 stars if you can make it to the end at least. Would recommend honestly love it but we cant even make it that far.
In our opinion, even better than the first game.
This game was fantastic. Id give it about a 9.1/10. While flawed, the game succeeds in almost every way possible. The graphics are simplistically great, the dialogue is amazing, if not greater than the last game, and the characters are interesting. But, like all games, its not all sunshine and rainbows. Some moments in the game, especially with some of the jumpscares, felt cheap. But, it is excusable since the budget for this game probably isnt as high as some other well-known story games. This game is very creepy and is deliciously long. But a quick recommendation for other players who want to try this on mobile, if you want to play on mobile, Id use a controller. Any controller, PS4, PS5, Xbox, etc. It plays much that way and if not, just use mobile controls.
Plays 100% better than we. The cache builds up pretty fast, is it possible to add a clear cache option in the in game menu or the app storage perms. Crossing scenes is pretty slow, can you charge for using the cloud to pre-loaded scenes to make it seamless.
Ive played Oxenfree at least four times, three on mobile and once on Xbox. Immediately preferred the controls on the Xbox. Ive also played Oxenfree 2 on mobile before, but that was over a year ago and we had completely forgotten just how BAD it is to play on mobile. Now in our second playthrough its all coming back to us. Characters get stuck together on rock walls and will not move in any direction and we have to refresh and default to our last save, hoping they dont glitch together in the same spot again. Sometimes we have to choose an interact option repeatedly, pressing 5 or 6 times in succession before the game acknowledges the button has been pressed. Specifically in the dog door of Jacobs home. That was a nightmare. From what we remember Oxenfree (the first) was originally an Xbox exclusive. We know Netflix is trying to push for their own gaming studio, Night School, by making Oxenfree 2 only available via the Netflix app, but cmon. Please fix the controls if youre making this a mobile game only. This story is too good to be butchered by that alone.
We played this after the first OXENFREE because we were so obsessed, but honestly, we love this one even more than the previous game. It looks much better, had fewer glitches (though there werent too many in the first game and we didnt really mind them), and we were always interested in what was coming next. The story of the protagonist felt so real and we're glad the ending we got was bittersweet, it paired well with the dark atmosphere and endearing main duo.
This is a really well thought out game, the creators perfected a fine line between challenge/strategy and a hint of horror. We like that they took the process from v1 and applied slight fixes to the process for this one. Someone please find these creative smart devs to keep making more games like this.
We gave this game. 5 stars for the story and the game mechanics. Play is smooth, relaxing, and intuitive. We found almost no bugs, and no show-stoppers preventing a seamless experience. The story is compelling, heartwarming, and tragic our favorite mix! Im very happy we played it, but Im skeptical about whether Ill play it again. Still , if you already have Netflix, its a no-brainer play it! :) In terms of downsides, the choices on which the game is based are the usual: be a decent person, be kind to people, and everything will work out for you. While there are many ways the plot can go based on your choices, choices mostly alter the events and accomplishments surrounding the main story few choices have a profound effect on the main storyline (but some do!).
It was amazing we love playing it this is like better then the first one in opinion.
We love this game. And thats alot coming from us since we usually dont play games. But this one is so fun. It has a good story line. We love how you can do your own thing in the game without it redirecting you. We hopeee they make a part 3 to the game. NETFLIX please make a number 3.
We really liked the first game and as soon as we saw this one coming out we just had to play it. We love how night school bring a new story that slowly starts connecting to the first game. The story is just so good.
A lovely game, we particularly loved Jacob, we thought his character and his voice was very calming, almost familiar in a way. We adore this game, its beautiful and so well written. Please. Take a moment, enjoy it.
God we literally loved this game the story line the character development everything!!! We cried at the end because it was so good we were so sad the game was coming to an end but Im so happy everything turned out good, please night studio make a third OXENFREE or something because we cant get enough of this PLS we LOVED THIS GAME we dont ever want to forget it.
We played it all the way through the ending and its we loved it, the ending choice is just incredible and we were most definitely not expecting it. The game was made really well and this and the first one are in our new favourites.
We absolutely adore both OXENFREE games. We love the multiple endings and choose your story type of games. The only thing we really don't like about the sequel is the fact that you cannot hold your finger down on the screen and Riley moves. We know it was kind of an inconvenience because you can't really press a speech bubble and keep them moving at the same time, but it was nice to have two options, one for when they are talking and one for when they aren't.
This sequel to the original game did not disappoint. The character development is top notch, art is fantastic, music immersive. It strikes a good balance between storytelling and gameplay, something many games struggle with. Although it leans more towards storytelling. Only nit is that it has crashed 3 or 4 times (playing on an iPad). But nothing too annoying. Great job, we hope to see more games in the future.
This game had us in tears. Ive never connected more to a character or story, like this one. We wish we could write the amazing stuff in this game but we would just ramble. By the end of the game we were literally sobbing and crying, we love the plot and the characters and the setting. The art style 10/10! Lighter compared to the first game but not too light where the dark mysteries setting was lost! The art also confused us at first which we loved! It being so light really helped build in the plot later on. Like at first it was just mysterious but then the plot kicked in and it got all dark and the art hid that just 10/10. Also just the paths compared to the first game had us geeking! UGH SO GOOD. Our favorite thing about both games is the topic of trauma. Really like how the main topic in both games is the loss of a loved one but this game added the fear of being a new mother with generational trauma. The fact the main character had a hard life with her mom and dad gave into the scare of her being a mom herself. The fact that Jacob felt so trapped in his little bubble of a life and water to do more. The fact that Olivia is a child easily impresionable due to the loss of her parents, leading her to be manipulated by ghost! UGH SO GOOD! The characters were obviously thought of in detail to make a story of this QUALITY! Thank youuuu sooo soo much for making this game. It made us look at our life in a different lighting and that is what art does. This game is pure art.
Ive been enjoying the game, but for some reason cant press the pop-up touchscreen buttons once we reach the doggy door at Jacobs house. Im stuck there, unable to interact with objects or withdraw.
This was such an incredible sequel to a wonderful first game. We dont even have the words !!! Beautiful soundtrack, fleshed-out and lovable characters, amazing visuals, and an incredible story. We love riley and jacob so much:) we cant get over this game! About to start our second playthrough! Spoilers below **! – – – – – im also so happy that we got to see alex again:) missed her and her crew.
Wow WOW Im just in shock at how amazing this was!!! We loved the writing and how it built off the first one and everything was just incredible! You can feel the love, passion, and heart put into this and it really made us emotional :) Just stellar and a lovely lovely game.
After completing the first game, which we absolutely loved, we were thrilled to see a sequel had been released. We finished it in about a day and love every minute of it. The storyline, writing, background, effects, characters, just everything was amazing. That final decision at the end we feel truly put you into the characters shoes, causing you to actually stop and think and decide what you ultimately felt was right. The heartbreaking dialogue definitely pushed us in the end to pick olivia. Everything was absolutely incredible and is by far one of the best games Ive ever and will ever play. Thank you so much to all that sacrificed so much time and energy into making this, we hope youre as astonished by it as we are.
We dont normally write reviews on anything really, but we wanted to share how much we truly loved this game. We were actually very skeptical about it at first, because we loved the first Oxenfree so much. When we played the first game, we were enraptured in the characters lives and the story and the mystery that we played it 3 times haha! We just loved and appreciated it that much. So when we started this one we thought it was going to be some dumb rip off of the first with no personality (that was just our assumption). However, we just finished the game and it was better than we ever expected this game deserves 5 stars because of how well it ties the original story line of the first game and the adventure of Alex and the gang into a whole new set of characters and stories. Words literally cannot express how much we love it, we may start it over again a few times too!! We dont want to give spoilers, but we just love how by the end we cared for each of the characters so much and was so excited to see older characters too that we squealed haha. But thank you to the game makers and Netflix for this absolute masterpiece!! If it was made into a show we would totally watch it 100% Side note: Jacob has our heart, hes such an awkward lovable character oh our gosh.
The creators of this game clearly put a lot of work and heart into it. The art and dialogue are very well executed. We love a game where we get to make choices that make a difference in the story. We think the first game is just a tad bit better than this one, but just by a hair! We were a little less attached to the characters in this one, they felt less fleshed out. Overall, it was a very cool game. Id give it a 4.5 with the first game being a full 5! We hope to see more mobile friendly games from this studio. Its really hard to find great games to play on your phone.
This is an amazing game! Butwhen we went to do something, it did save, and then we came back to the game, and we totally had to start over. We ended near we went into a flashback or something? Its really not that far off, we just got annoyed when we lost all our choices. We think you guys did an amazing job though. We feel like it should be like a movie or something.
Im at the end of the game and it just crashed and now we have to do a whole chunk of it over bc of the terrible auto save feature.
Keeps crashing after Im almost to a save point. Jacob talks way too much.
We were cautiously optimistic about this game, we adore the original OXENFREE but their follow up game, Afterparty, we found quite disappointing. This however is many steps back in the right direction, and builds upon the original games strengths with a couple interesting new ideas and mechanics. However, playing on iPad, the game has crashed on us about 5 times. Most of the time this was during a loading between screens so no loss of progress, but unfortunately one crash occurred very close to the end of the game when it hadnt saved for about 20 minutes. Hard to recommend playing it on mobile at this time if you have another platform.
