A Glimpse into PEEP and the Big Wide World Trash Stash

Are you ready to Stash some Trash? In this app from PEEP and the Big Wide World, which features the loveable and plucky robin, Chirp, one bird’s trash is another Raccoon’s treasure. Since Chirp is in a “sorting mood,” kids get to help Chirp make order of her world starting with Raccoon’s junk.

In this Trash Stash app, kids practice their categorization skills by sorting objects using increasingly sophisticated criteria. The game begins simply with sets of colors but as kids are successful, it gets trickier with more complex sets like Things You Can Eat and Metal Things.

Players might notice that objects can fall into more than one set. A red apple might be in the Red Things, Things You Can Eat, and Things That Grew sets. Older kids may also get a kick out of trying to guess what the set will be before it’s announced. They can do so by watching the items as Raccoon hurls them from his hideaway.

The PEEP and the Big Wide World Trash Stash app from WGBH was produced by WGBH, the producers of PEEP and the Big Wide World, with additional development work by CloudKid. The animated series PEEP and the Big Wide World gives wings to the innovative idea of teaching science to preschoolers. Wry and distinctive visual humor, charming plotlines, and lovable characters combine with a comprehensive science curriculum to attract and engage kids three to five years old.

User Reviews on PEEP and the Big Wide World Trash Stash

Looking for more information? Read a comprehensive review of PEEP and the Big Wide World Trash Stash below:

It’s about sorting. The raccoon tosses his trash that he collects out of his tree and you have have to tap on the items specified by the narrator. Our four-year-old loves it. He giggles every time Raccoon throws stuff out of his tree. We can’t believe these games are free. They’re so cute and actually educational. If you have a three-to-four year old typically-developing child, we think he or she will like it.

We just Trash Stash! We could probably play it all day! But we dont just have to do sorting like the teacher says, we want a dragon added to it and we also want a mode where you could have your own rules of different shapes and sizes. Oh, that was another thing we were going to tell you about, doing sizes as well! Please let there be more ways of sorting in this app. Just wondering. Sorry about that long review. Im just so excited! ( we could send thousands of those!!!!) on Trash Stash! Its not a dragon without it! . There, we written a little note about our review. We know, okay? Hey, we really do love this app (or game)! Do you have anything to tell us about that really long review? Eh? So please please please please add in all of that please please wanted wanty stuff we asked for? We forgot. We dont want to not give you a million of these: ! Okay, maybe this was a little bit more than too much fun and all kinds of other things and characters and a million characters (or dragons) more. Goodbye (I wish we didnt say that thing we didnt just not just tell or tell or say to you developers so please please let us know what you are going to say about this review we just sent you right now so please please just do it now or we just let us know when we get the thing you might want to do or say to me)! We could just keep talking and talking and talking to you about this app we asked our mom to download today (actually it was last night which was our birthday). This app was very much more better then we thought it would be. This app was just for us! We wish that the app was having more fun characters to help you give you hints and clean up. We it, we really do! Im still so sorry about the long review we were going to tell or say or something, or maybe send! Im just so exhausted while Im writing this, and Im excited too! Just trying to make you guys and gals happy for making this app! Goodbye!

Our son loved this game. Like it was his go to game when we took a long car ride. Now its mostly unplayable for a child as the audio doesnt work. Sad.

We’re very impressed with this app. We plan to use it in speech therapy. Simple, fun.

Great app until it stopped working with the new iOS update.

Kids used to love it. But the new iOS does not allow it to open.

This is a great game for kids. All the apps for Peep and the Big Wide World are the same ones you can find on their website but much easier to use on the iPad. Our 6 year old loves them all. The only problem is that if you ever hit the "i" button at the top right of the screen it puts you into an information screen that you cannot get out of. The only way we have found to get back to the game is to delete the app and reload it. We found this to be true for all of the games from Peep and the Big Wide World. Hope they get this fixed. But still these are all really great games. Just don’t hit that button.
