The award-winning roguelike-deckbuilder Peglin is finally available on iOS! This version lets you try it before you buy it with unlimited access to the first third of the game and a one-time purchase to own the complete game and all future updates!

The dragons have been popping peglins and stealing all of your gold for as long as you can remember. Enough is enough. It’s time to venture through the woods, conquer the fortress, and delve into the heart of the dragon’s lair to take back what’s yours and teach those dragons a lesson.

Peglin plays like a combination of Peggle and Slay the Spire. The enemies are tough, and if you’re defeated your run is over, but you’ve got powerful orbs with special effects and incredible relics that influence both your enemies and the physics you’ll use to defeat them.

Features:

  • Collect and upgrade powerful orbs and relics to defeat the monsters and bosses that stand in your way.
  • Fight enemies with Pachinko-like gameplay – hit more pegs to do more damage. Use crit potions, refresh potions, and bombs wisely.
  • Explore a new map every time, with different orbs, enemies, and surprises along the way.

Awesomest game we’ve ever played Im a game of the day player congrats about game of the day.

We’ve been watching this game for a while on PC, and was surprised to find it on mobile so quickly. The game has grown massively in the time since it was released, and we cant wait to see what kinds of pegging are possible in the future.

When this game first came out on PC, we saw the Youtuber Aliensrock playing it. We had watch almost all of his videos on this game at the point of this review. When we saw this game appear on the app store, we knew we had to get it. While we wasnt expecting to pay to get the full version, we bought it anyways because we know good games dont come cheap. We just unlocked cruciball level 10. Cant wait for more updates to come and see how this game can expand.

Really unique take on the roguelike genre. Could really use some unlocks or meta progression in between to keep you coming back though. RNG also makes for a pretty unbalanced early game. Would be nice to give the player just a bit more agency rather than having so many games end in the first act depending on luck with which orbs you get. Also skipping relics should give back some gold value! Otherwise this game has a lot of potential with future updates, and we’ve had a lot of fun so far!

Dont get us wrong it is fun but you have to pay to get the full game and it doesnt say peglin DEMO it just says peglin as if it were the full game thats why we only put three stars on it and not four.

Fun game and a great concept but it shouldnt be a nearly $10 game.

Cool game? Yes Worth $8.99? Never.

Fun game we enjoyed playing the forest but after you beat it you have to pay 9$ for the whole game, this wouldve been fine if it was advertised.

We like this game a lotits just enough luck combined with choosing orbs and direction you want to go on the map. But if you loose, you are sent all the back to level one. Im sick of playing the forest. Let us start back at the level we lost, it would make the game way less boring and more enjoyable.

The game is great except for the nearly completely random map navigation a almost never go where we want to and it is even harder to control if you get any movement altering items.

Seemed very short. Not very deep of upgrades. So progression is kinda missing. If you play the free portion of the game you have seen probably 75% of it. So we paid to play more but it didnt really feel like there was that much more sadly. Otherwise it couldve been a pretty neat cross between Peggle and slay the spire. But its only 15% of either of those games in its entirety. Felt like a cash grab paying for the extra level after the free one. Add like 2-5 more levels and more ball upgrades and maybe it would be worth 10-20 bucks. Rn idk we feel like we got tricked really.

Like the title says. The main gameplay here is a direct rip off of the PopCap game Peggle. Its surprising this was allowed. Its as if we came out with a game called DotMan and had a little Green character that had to go around a maze and collect dots to get a high score. Yes there are some different elements here such as attacking your enemies but the main way to do that is by playing Peggle to power yourself up for attacks. Im shocked that this has been allowed. If the developer even said that they where inspired by Peggle we could give them some leeway but instead they act as if its an idea they just always wanted. Shameful.

One map then you have to pay for the full game. This is a demo.

We’ve built entire playthroughs around trying to unlock just one new character. We take every relevant relic we can, take every orb that advances the condition that can unlock them, and each time the requirements are just completely out of scope for what you can actually do in game. We’ve avoided actually playing the game normally because if you do, youll never unlock these characters. The requirements are completely arbitrary. Its ruined all enjoyment of the game for us.

If this game was 2.99 or 3.99 it would have been an easy purchase but its not worth 10$

Like Peggle but rogue like style. Awesome idea and still being updated. Lots of fun to play but the progression system after you beat it is a bit repetitive. Highly recommend.

We bought this game for pc three days ago as of writing this review, we collected over 30 hrs in it. We cant stop thinking about it so we needed it on the go. For being early access still, its got great direction. Especially compared to when we played the demo way back when it was released. Super addicting.

This is a full Steam game. We don’t know why people are angry that the full game is NOT FREE. A little bit of scrolling down would tell you it costs $9 to unlock the full game. What you download at first is just a trial, not the full game. Which we think is great because you’re not slammed with ads, micro transactions and such. Instead you have the option to just pay one time and that’s it. The game itself is great and does not deserve to be review bombed like this just because people are dumb, entitled and lack basic reading skills.

Super fun and more skill based than a lot would think at the start. With more characters and some more mechanics this game could be one of the best roguelikes.

Got an email from apple showcasing games on the app store, and had to check to see if the mobile peglin port was real. Sure enough it was, and didn’t wanna write a review but after seeing some of them we had to. The game is fantastic and pioneered rogue-like games using peggle mechanics. Feels kind of weird on mobile, but considering it’s still a new port that’s bound to happen and it’ll get polished with time. We would like to see more character specific orbs and relics, but that will also come with time since the character update is still fairly new. Another suggestion we saw and agree with was from a youtuber whos channel is aliensrock, he said he would like to see the orb pools for the different characters be smaller so you can create more interesting character specific synergies. We paid $20 for this game on steam, so those of you complaining about the $9 paywall to unlock the full game are getting it for a STEAL. That’s not even mentioning the fact that you got to even TRY the game for free. If you can’t afford it, you shouldn’t be playing it. We saw one reviewer say "not once is do they say you have to pay to unlock the full game", and we hope they see this because we wanna tell em one thing: you’re either illiterate or just plain dumb, because if you scroll down in the app description to the section where it says "in app purchases" it says yes, and if you click the drop down it tells you that you need to pay to unlock the full game and shows that that is $9. In today’s world where 99% of games -especially free ones- include in app purchases, you can’t get mad about them "not being mentioned" because that’s completely on you for not taking 5 seconds to scroll down and check.

Easily our favorite Peggle-like game since Peggle Classic (RIP). Successful combination of pachinko and roguelike, with interesting upgrade decisions. We just hope more content will be added in the future, because right now we keep seeing the same environments, enemies and layouts. Also some unlocks between runs would be a welcome addition.

Great game so glad it got an iOS port.

This is a fun game. Some relic could use retuning to become relevant and the x/y damage thing could be explained better but overall good. We also strongly suggest removing the input allowance for the area above the fire button. Not a huge deal, but we constantly accidentally click there and would have to redo a shot.

$20 on steam, are you serious?

The difficulty curve is messed up. You start off barely able to survive the first area, but by the end of it youre too strong to be stopped. The coin economy makes the game feel worse. Its unnecessary. The randomization seems weighted wrong. For example, we’ve seen the healing orb like twice between 10s of playthrough. Meanwhile, we’ve seen the same 4-5 basic orbs after nearly every battle. This makes trying to unlock the shield Peglin impossible. We’ve gone dozens of games without seeing even a single shield-granting item.

Mid at best. The devs are a little too far ahead of themselves. $9? What a laugh.

This game is a really cool idea with a fun twist on slay-the-spire rogue like gameplay. However, the base game is quite short which prevents you from getting the most out of synergies that make these games so addicting. The paywall of 9$ for the full game without seeing the end product of a run is a bit much for us.

Theres no tutorial, making the idea of how the game works very hard to figure out. Theres no way to see the details of effects that items might have. Theres no explanation of when enemies attack. This is all basic stuff that a game should have.

A small and unique pachinko game. Its similar to slay the spire and other deck building rogue-likes. Im happy to see such a creative game in the App Store. We think there is a lot of potential for making new and items/mechanics in this game, so we hope this game does well! Gambling chip + multi ball is too good.

Ill start by saying we’ve been a huge fan of this game on PC for quite some time, and the constant stream of updates frequently adds boatloads of new content, making this an extremely worthwhile purchase. However, while the gameplay is phenomenal, it sorely needs a handful of UX overhauls to make it work on mobile. To start, adding some sort of confirmation to the initial Relic choice seems essential. Most of the time when you get a Relic or Orb, tapping on it will open a popup telling you the details of what that Relic or Orb does, and allowing you to confirm your choice or back out and change your mind. However, when you first start a run, the very first Relic you select doesnt open that popup, meaning you have to rely on your memory to make a selection. There is a way to tap and hold each relic which has an incredibly small miniature popup that does the same task, but it feels wrong to do it like this, and often these mini descriptions wind up spilling over the edge of the screen, meaning you cannot read the full descriptions for some Relics. Secondly, we think overall the fonts and UI elements are way too small. We know its the same relative size that they are on PC, and Im sure theyre fine on tablets, but on a mobile phone, youve gotta upscale things. HP, Status Effect numbers, and Item Description text is very difficult to read, a lot of buttons like the skip orb button and many decision confirmations are very small and challenging to accurately tap, honestly most things in this game are extremely small and could do with being scaled up. Finally, theres a general lack of precision to the mobile version of this game. Controlling where you aim with just a finger is really tricky, and while the PC version of Peglin allows you to use the scroll wheel to make smaller and subtle changes to your aim, theres no such option here. Plus, on PC, using your mouse to aim doesnt cover the screen, while using your finger absolutely does, meaning you have to awkwardly swipe to avoid blocking your own vision! We think other methods of aiming could really benefit the mobile version, perhaps adding a virtual scroll wheel players could swipe up or down correlating to a change of aim left or right to best emulate the PC scroll wheel could work. However, we would much prefer to see some sort of control scheme where tapping and holding on each side of the screen gradually moves the aim in that direction. Tapping the left side of the screen would rotate aim clockwise, while the right side of the screen would rotate aim counterclockwise. Small taps could rotate the aim just a little bit, while tapping and holding could gradually increase the speed of rotation, allowing players to pretty quickly select the general direction they want to aim, and then focus on honing in the precise direction before firing. Those are the only major UX improvements we could see at this time. The development team seems to really listen to feedback, so we doubt our complaints will last long! We do also want to praise a few decisions they made specific to the mobile version, such as the Fire button being turned on by default instead of immediately firing on click/tap like the PC version has by default, and such as making the application free and allowing new players to demo the first world before buying the full game (yes the PC version has a demo too, but its a separate application). Like we said, we love Peglin, and have no feedback for the gameplay itself. The dev team has put a TON of care into the gameplay and balance of the game for as long as its been on PC. We just hope that the mobile ports UX gets that same level of care and attention going forward. Its extremely convenient to have our favorite roguelike on the go, and we look forward to seeing how they improve the experience!

Actual game is $8.99 and you have to play through to the first boss and it tells you to upgrade to keep playing. Kind of predatory if you ask us. Only two stars because it was actually decent.

We remember first seeing this on PC and thinking, Why is this not on mobile? If it were on mobile, Id buy that!. Love the game. Drains the battery noticeably but thats a lot of computation so we get it.

Really awesome new take on rouge like crossed with peggle. An instant classic. Looking forward to the iOS version catching up to the Steam version.

We have had a lot of fun on this game playing the first level over and over and Im on the border of buying the IAP because of how good it is but it doesnt say what all the full unlock entails besides saying full game. Is the 8.99 purchase gonna come with a lot of content or is it more like an extra level here and one character? Other than that we’ve been glued to our screen learning all of the different equipment and ammo, great variety!

Just writing a review to counter all of the people (mostly kids) complaining that the game isnt free. There are multiple games on the App Store where you have to unlock the full game by paying, or in some cases having a Netflix subscription, this isnt anything new. The sad part is, we think this is the best possible format for premium games. You get to try it for free, and if you dont enjoy it, at least you didnt have to shell out any money for it. Theres a lot of entitled people who didnt read the in app purchase section, and thought the full game was free. This is a port of a full fledged PC game. Very rarely is that going to be completely free. Apple should really make a category for games that have a one time purchase to unlock the full game, and make it so that people cant review those types of games without purchasing them first. Otherwise they get review bombed like this one, even though their model is arguably the most fair way out there and should be praised for it, not ridiculed.

When we started playing, us life was in shambles because our wife left us and she took the kids. Now we can play Peglin all day and forget about our worries. Thank you Peglin!

Come on 8.99 id rather buy a full on game at that point make it 10 bucks and put it on Xbox Id pay 20-25 if u upgraded it and put it on Xbox 100%

This a premium game. An outstanding rougelike that incorporates 2d platforming with pachinko like mechanic. The controls are tight. The game loop is addicting. Music and graphics are retro goodness. It is getting rave reviews on just about every platform. Please support developers like this. Review bombing a game because you are not bright enough to realize you need to pay to unlock the full game is entitlement at its peak. People who leave reviews like this is why mobile gaming is predatory and full of pay to win freemium nonsense. You get what you pay for. Apple needs to remove reviews complaining about pricing. Every time we get a premium game someone comes on here and writes about it should be free or is too expensive. We normally get ports at a nice discount. Please stop.

The mobile port from the demo seems good. Id honestly buy it on two platforms but we know at some point peglin is gonna get DLC too and we dont wanna have to re-buy the game just to re-buy DLC twice. We wish there was a way to claim the game Id already purchased on steam so we could play it from our phone.

This game is very good and we love everything about it. We appreciate the pricing model, letting us try a good amount of the game before buying and keeping it add free is awesome! We love the game itself as well, we’ve cleared through a few time and am looking forward to playing much much more! We do wish there were more areas to explore but hopefully that can be added in the future. Otherwise we just wanted to say that this game combines two of our favorite genres with an awesome art style so keep up the good work!

We were obsessed with this game aesthetic retro theme and interesting random stories and choices. Worth the upgrade, and definitely worth a rating better than 3.8.

As a enjoyer of the version on pc we can say we didnt expect the port but It feels like something that works for it, although you can tell how raw it is, being really obvious when you try to get the full game and it just removes the ability to get the full game. It really is just the same game on steam, and the port has some things that it could take from the dead cells port to mobile, like adjustable buttons and more customizable controls. All and all we feel like unlike dead cells this is a good game to port to mobile because of its less fast pace gameplay, but still making a requirement for being well timed. We will try to remind myself to give it a 5/5 stars if it gets a update to tune some of the obvious bugs and tune up the interfaces, but right now we think that it has potential. Just a couple ideas to better the controls, though this is just on the spot aiming Add buttons to change the angle of the shot, and customizable sensitivity to adjust how fast the angle changes Joystick Lock and load, or more or less select a target and press something to fire the shot to assure the user that the ball goes where they want etc Maybe make a portrait style viewing mode so that all the balls and options are below, but the gameplay is on the top, and make it so shooting the ball only worked by touching a part of the screen so that the trash button wouldnt be so easy to press accidentally.

Please remember our cruciball choice. We cant tell you the number of runs we’ve abandoned because we dont wanna deal with the stupid rocks! This wasnt really a problem on PC because we could quickly restart but on iOS it takes SO LONG! Anyway, thats our minor pet peeve. This game is really charming and while it doesnt quite fit on our phone screen, we really enjoy playing it wherever we want. Definitely worth the Purchase even if the desktop version is probably the better experience.

Great game but why cant we port all our progress from the pc version to here? Knocking a star off for that.

The game is quite fun, even though its technically in early access. We went ahead and bought the full game, because its half the price of the game on Steam. Looking forward to playing more!

Peglin is a great game on PC and a favorite pass time of ours. However, this buggy port isn’t great for first timers. Scrolling in the map is just broken. You can scroll up or try to scroll down and go up instead. Aiming is somehow even worse because there is no way to fine-toon a shot. Orbs get skipped for no reason. The UI is broken to the point that if you don’t already know all the orbs, it’s going to be a rough playthrough. This all said, we’re glad to see Peglin on iOS and look forward to bug fixes and updates.

Overall good fun game. Cons: – once you see an encounter it is the same every time when you see the same text bubbled – there are hidden buffs and debuffs with some abilities (red bomb doing damage to yourself sometimes) – if you do not have the red bomb or other specific orbs it is impossible to beat some bosses so this only 2 viable builds – aiming can be finicky – no explanation what things do, have to figure out on your own – No variety of main characters Pros: + Can kill hours + genuinely fun game, get addicted quick + Looks good, great pixel art + Fun enemies + Has great replay ability (even though you rarely see anything new)

We got this game since its rogue like on mobile. Which obviously theres very few good games on mobile. At first we were enjoying the game until we got smashed with a pay wall. Not once did the game make you aware that you only get a demo for free and would have to pay for the rest. Its deceiving, and we think the developer is only using this tactic to get more downloads. Therefore increasing the game up into the ranks. Do t download unless your willing to pay $9 for the rest of the game.
