What Makes Pinoy Mahjong Stand Out
Pinoy Mahjong is a single-player game based on the mahjong rules (not yet formally defined) used in the Philippines. This app is an implementation of those rules. This app runs on iPads as well as iPhones.
It has implemented all the following features: Draw, Chow, Pong, Kang, Secret (hidden Kang), Snag (sagasa), Rob the Snag (also called Rob the Kang), Single, Edge Tile, Wedged Tile (Edge Tile and Wedged Tile are variations of Single), Before the 5th Discard, Zero Flowers (sin flores), 13 Flowers (or more), Seven Pairs, 1 to 9 Straight (escalera), All Up, All Chow, All Pong, Kang without Pay, Full Flush, Back-to-Back, Declare 7 Pairs, Declare 1 to 9 Straight, Race-to-5-Wins Jackpot, a HELP button (for on-demand help) and a tutorial on Filipino mahjong.

This version runs on the new iPhone 13 family, the new iPads and Macs on Apple Silicon. We have also added new settings (see "gear" button, top right, on the game scene) so your tiles, the game buttons, etc can be shifted up, down, left and right as needed. Also, you can now display in more detail, on a separate screen, information about a specific player by tapping the player's win count (money bags).

Greeting! Love the game, but wanted to know if there was a way to mute the sound while playing game? Im trying to listen to a podcast and play at the same time, but every time the game calls out tile it pauses our podcast.
Have been waiting for a long time to come back, and came back even better.
Really enjoy the app to the point of donating money. It is built so well and the game is so fun. No issues ever with it.
This app makes playing quite easy. Not sure why we cant pick up a piece prior from the left player to our turn and throw a peice.
We love this game.. Infact we are addicted to it. We wish that they can get rid of the glitch when you kang or snag or secret a tile that it will force you to draw so you are not stuck. Also it should allow you to chow even if the other tile is a pair.
Love this. Some suggestions for upgrades. All players reveal tiles at the end of game. Option to play with multiple real people. Thanks again for this app.
What is snag? Sometimes it doesnt work correctly. But lots of FUN.
The game is so Gina fun has helped us sharpen our skills, but we wish we could turn off the sound. It would be nice to listen to music at the same time.

Love this app! Just like playing with family. Gave it 4 stars because there is no way to turn the sounds off in play mode. We might have missed it but have searched the app high and low. We dont want to have sounds when we play; we want to listen to music.
Being able to listen to music while we play would be nice, playing w/ friends could be cool too.
When you have 4 of the same tile sometimes you need to pong instead of kang because the tiles may potentially work better after a few rounds. If it doesnt get better then you should be able to make it a kang. Thats a standard on Filipino mahjong.
First off, we love this app! We rarely write reviews, but Ive been waiting for a Filipino mahjong game on iPhone for a while and this turned out to be a great way to play when we dont have enough people around to play with in person. If we have one request it would be to PLEASE add sound controls!! Id love the option to mute the in-app voice so we can listen to music while playing. Based on the other reviews it looks like other users feel the same way.. Just sayin ;).
We love playing mahjong so we were excited to find this in the App Store. We mostly play during our commute to and from work. Love that you can slow down the game play. It took us a bit to figure that out. Our only gripe with the app is that you cant listen to music while you play. The tile narration pauses the music. We hope that can be adjusted soon.
We believe this is the best Filipino Mahjong game in the App Store of the very few that Ive found. We only have a few issues with it: -The achievements dont always work, which is frustrating for the harder-to-get achievements like Before the Fifth Discard or Full Flush. As far as we are aware, the achievements only register in the Game Center if you had fully restarted the app before acquiring it; otherwise, it doesnt count. Sometimes, it doesnt even register in the game itself. -It doesnt really make sense for the player to Chow/Pong a tile that gives a Mahjong, and then not allow the player to call Mahjong even if they already have it. The only way to counteract this is by throwing any one of your tiles and then calling Mahjong immediately before the next player makes a move. -we wish the other players would reveal their tiles at the end of a round. -we love the sorting mechanic; however, we wish there was also a way to rearrange tiles to how Id like. -Looking forward to a multiplayer version! Otherwise, Ive become very addicted to this game and enjoy playing it when we cant play real-life Mahjong with our family! :).
Our husband and we both love playing this game, weve never had any issues with crashing and everything runs seamlessly; its so much fun and a little brain workout all in one. We just wish we could play music/podcasts from different apps simultaneously while playing this game, would make it so much more pleasurable! Currently we have to choose between playing the game or listening to music we want both!! Fix this and you get 10 stars :-).
Need to be able to turn sound off. The game is fun and plays good. But only Filipino mahjong game we can find. So worth the download.

The app has reset numerous times. On a winning hand it will force exit from app on a winning discard. A few times we should have been able to kang or pong, then the app will lag and never give us the option to select.
Really enjoy playing this game especially because the Filipino way is different. They did a really great job. However, when we put our headphones in, the app keeps declaring whatever tile is drawn. We cant listen to music or anything. Theres nowhere in the settings thatd let us turn it off. Would change our rating if theres a fix for it.
Love that Filipinos now have a decent mahjong game. Needs some work though. For example, when you kang or secret, you are supposed to draw. But the game allows you to throw. Now you can never win because you dont have enough tiles. The interface needs work. Seems that all effort was getting the programming done and not enough time spent on the GUI. For Game Center, challenges arent explained at all. Hope to have at least multiplayer local game play on a near future update.
But sorry. Almost unusable. Screen wonky and unstable. Just a hot meas.
We bought coins and our account reset to zero games and 600ish coins when we had 50+ games and 3000 coins. It wont let us restore our purchase.
After the recent update, the Chow button stop working.
Just wish you could arrange your own tiles. Also, we wish the other players cards would flip over when someone wins.
This game is addicting and we cant stop playing it! Thank you for this game! A few friends of ours recommended us to download this and learn Pinoy Mahjong and we learned quite fast because of this app! Ive been recommending our friends to download it and play but we all wish theres a multiplayer game where we can all play against each other. We hope this happens in the future. Thanks for making this app.
The screen becomes enlarged after the first game. We have an iPhone 12 mini Please fix.
If you kang, it wont allow you to draw. It will be great if you could adjust the speed just like playing in real person to person game. The arrangement of the tiles on the bottom should be adjusted a little bit higher to see the flowers being accumulated.
We have been looking for a great mahjong simulator, and this it. Im not even Filipino! Im a Mexican who loves mahjong! We can even read the tiles with our fingers! If you want to practice…get this game. Plays like the real thing. The only thing we wish is that it could tell us was if each play we made was optimal. Anyway…lots of fun. We just wish it came with lumpia.
After successfully playing a game, the next game starts and screen is zoomed in and we can not see our tiles. We tried to double click but does not help.
We dont like that the game resets when we have to take a break, and we lose all the points we worked hard for. Really disheartening.
Im happy that there is a game that we can play on our own and improve, our Mama just taught us over the Holidays and we hope to keep this Filipino tradition alive. We ran out of chips so we purchased more, we got a confirmation from the App Store of a successful in-app purchase but unfortunately they have not loaded into the game and Im still in the negative chip count as well as the game insisting we wait 4 hours in between games for more free play. We dont understand.
We dont have any problems with this game when we had our iphone 8 plus. But when we upgraded to our iphone 12 pro max, we cant play it anymore. The first game is ok. The size of the tiles are still playable but when it advance to the next (2nd) game, we completely cannot play it anymore. The tiles converts into JUMBO size tiles that it dont fit our screen anymore or see anything. Please update the games version to make it compatible to our iphone 12 pro max. We really enjoyed using this app until this happened.
After the upgrade last Monday October 5, our app stopped working. We had a score of 330,000 plus. We emailed the developer and did not get a response. We're using an older version of ipad but our iOS is the latest version.
Is it possible after a win, to display everyones kartada.
We were enjoying it but lately it increasingly refuses to recognize our wins. We get Sorry Not a Win when we know it is a win. Im losing points right and left. Not exactly fun.
This is by far the best Filipino-style on-line mahjong game. Ive been playing it since it first started and we had never experienced it crashing. We play it several times a day and before we go to sleep every night. Its a very entertaining, mind-challenging and fun game. One of our friends who also frequently plays it everyday said that playing it during our post-surgical recovery period helped keep our sanity. Its a great way to entertain yourself during your spare time as well. And it helps keep your mind sharp because it makes you use critical thinking to help you win.
Every time we launch it, It crashes.
