Pixel Push Football is a Board/Sports game from Brandon Thacker, first launched in 4th April 2020.
It’s rated 4+ and currently has 154+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes Pixel Push Football Stand Out

Pixel Push Football is an arcade game with physics driven gameplay based on the rules of paper football.

■ Fast, physics-based action.
All movement is 100% controlled by a physics system meaning each shot is based on your skill and your skill alone. Super fast gameplay means average game length is less than 15 minutes. Touchbacks, Safeties, Touchdowns, Field Goals, Extra Points, 2 Point Conversions, it's all in the game.

■ 1 Player versus AI
Dynamic AI driven solely by the physics system means no two games are ever the same vs the CPU. 3 difficulty levels to choose from.

■ Local 2 Player versus
Innovative two player mechanic where each player sits across from one another and takes turns attempting to score. Think "old school arcade". Great on larger screens like tablets.

■ Tournament Mode
Supports 1-6 human players. Single elimination bracket, progress can be saved and resumed.

■ 3 Unique Challenges with Score tracking.

  • Shred the Defense: A progressively more challenging based game where you must fling the football towards a receiver located on the field. Defenders will move randomly across the field and block the balls path. You have 8 seconds per turn. 4 downs per score.
  • Two Minute Drill: Score as many touchdowns as possible within two minutes. Each score will move the ball further away from the goal.
  • Field Goal Frenzy: Score as many field goals as possible without missing.

■ Customizable Controls
Customize the pointer offset and ball impact force within the settings menu to suit it perfectly to your device.

■ "8 bit" retro style art and sound.

■ Customizable Graphics Options

  • 3 Total Themes
  • 8 Total Fields
  • 26 Different Ball Designs
  • 6 Player Color Choices

This Board game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

Probably the best free game Ive ever seen. Super well designed, and you can basically just pick it up and play a quick round whenever.

Idk how its got anything less than 5 stars. The game is very well done and there isnt a single freaking ad in sight. Seriously youve done incredibly well here. Awesome game.

We like this game. It offers the same excitement and ease of play as the real game, without having to bend over to pick up the ball when it leaves the table! Would be cool to have a timed version.

Had a lot of fun on. This game with friends, no ads or micro transactions, just simple paper football.

We can play this game all day but some of the cpu touch downs really shouldve fallen off the table.

We spent many days when we were younger playing this during free time at school. Now to see it on here is crazy. Great game and pretty good to play.

And surprisingly intense. Graphics and game play are retro glory. We only wish the menu link wasnt in the middle of the board during play, if the football is in the middle of screen half the time we hit the menu link because its in the way, would be better off to side.

This game is so good, although we do have some gripes. The game physics are super good, but could use some fine-tuning. We wish you could use a football field with a paper ball. Online multiplayer would be good, but thats not a main thing. Other than that, perfect game.

We accidentally stumbled on this game.and Im so glad we did!!!! Its simple interface and the intense back and forth make this one of the best sports game in the App Store!!!! Download it and see for yourself.

We started playing paper football when we were in sixth grade. All of the boys would gather around a small table, watching a match, cheering opposing players on, and even placing bets with their lunch food . It was super serious for us. Those memories came back to us when we got this game. We know its just a mobile game, but on long car rides, or even just at home, we play this with our younger brother. Of course, real table football is better, but this is simply the next best thing. Great game! 5 stars for sure! -paper football prince.

Absolutely love this game! Challenging but also easy to get the hang of! Our suggestions below are only things we think would make the game even better! 1. Online/WiFi/Friend based multiplayer! Itd be great if we could play at our desk and our buddy could at his during our lunch breaks 2. Customizable Tournaments! Whether it be bigger tournaments or different formats, itd be great to even just have an 8 team tourney so that no one gets a bye round. 3. Season mode! This could just be a simple single player season mode or even one you could have with multiple people. Like we said, love this game and will recommend to all our buddies.

One of the best football games in the App Store. We remember playing this in elementary school by folding up a loose leaf paper and use the cafeteria table as the field. Hooked on the tournament mode. Still learning kicking fgs and determining how much power to use when swiping. Currently, find it much easier the further Im away from the end-zone. Would love a league mode with a regular season to determine tournament seeding.

It doesnt get any better than this! Super fun and addicting gameplay and the matches can be very exciting.

Havent even played yet but this game is next up when people forget about retro bowl.

We have been waiting for a good paper football game to come out for a long time now and it is finally here! Love the pixel art style and the mechanics of gameplay. Even the normal mode is quite the challenge.

Far more addicting than we anticipated. Surprisingly fun, very easy to learn and play, and incredibly fun to either play with a buddy or against CPU. Highly recommend giving this a shot.

Fun little arcade game. Great visuals. Challenging. We just wish the CPU played more quickly.

Whether youre playing against the CPU or your brother or friend, the games can be EXTREMELY competitive and intense !! Adding Tournament mode was a great move, but we do believe it needs a bit more depth. If Id make suggestions as a consumer, Id add the ability to customize the tournament and create our own team names. Doesnt have to be legit football names, but having the option to select a name could add to immersion. We love the simplicity of gameplay and wouldnt switch it up, but adding a separate scoring system that limited turns could force a more strategic approach for players. Ex. Each player only has 20 moves to score as many points as possible. Could be an interesting twist, and adds the threat of an overtime option with next score wins rules. Or a field goal kick off. We may be ranting at this point, but the game is beautifully made and Id love to see more of it. GREAT JOB.

The 8-bit aesthetic is charming, the soundtracks catchy to the ears, controls are fluid. And not to to mention the game is, at least at the moment, free of ads/IAPs, making for a very pure and sound experience.

Im enjoying this but still cant beat the hard computer.

Its a great game but we would like it even more if you added a league mode.

Add win/loss records vs cpu And other lifetime stats vs cpu Then theres incentive to play this over and over and over More stats/records = instant 5star.

Its a great game and Ill give it 5 stars if you add a season mode.

Very fun game! Just looking for more depth. A whole season mode would be sweet! Overall enjoyable.

Game is fun. But dont expect to be able to listen to music or a podcast while playing. Start up the game and loud, obnoxious music starts. If you go to settings you can turn GamePlay Music to off but that doesnt stop the music until the coin flip is over. But at least the music finally stopped. However all the sound effects continue while playing the game. Its a fun game. We will gladly play it more and make our review 5 stars if the game is updated with an actual silent mode.

Half the time when the football lands with part of it on the line the ref doesnt count it as a touchdown. Thats the whole point of the game, and considering it doesnt even work is frustrating. If this is fixed Ill definitely change it to 5 stars.

Great game! We like the idea of being able to sit down and play with someone. Two problems 1 not being able to practice field goals specifically. 2 the music won't turn off, it didn't initially. But we like to play single player games with a video overlay. First couple times we played, it worked fine but now when we turn it on it won't stop playing no matter what we do with the settings.

We were against the cpu and we put it on easy mode since we had never played before, but the CPU scored every single time and we couldnt even stand a chance.Maybe this game has some potential if easy was actually easy.

Even on the easiest difficulty, the CPU will manage to screw you over through the random number generator, making the game somewhat unplayable. Its only playable if you can find another human being to play this game with. We wanted to enjoy this game. The visuals, the music, the retro aesthetics, theyre all fantastic, but the issues mentioned are a dealbreaker for us.

This is a fun game to kill some time or to mess around with while youre listening to a podcast, but all of the sudden today, the game now has obnoxious background sound that cant be turned off, we have no need for this game if we cant play it while listening to a podcast in the background so until thats fixed its no good. 4-5 star game otherwise.

There is no reason for the ball to have to hang off the table and the pointer doesnt spawn where your finger is so you miss the ball a lot.we deleted it after one minute of playing.

Needs a lot of work to be a decent game even.

If you ever played paper football in a study hall or school cafeteria, you can do it again here! Its a simple game, but the simple games are often the best. Great old-school arcade feel, as well. Best game Ive downloaded in a good long while.

This game brings be back to our childhood days of paper football toss in the desks during school. It is simple yet fun and easy to get the hang of in a few games. We found ourselves last night playing with friends for two hours and didnt realize where the time went! We like the ability to change designs within the game to mix it up. Has great retro sound as well as no in-app purchases. Its great on a phone, and even better on an iPad. If you are looking for a fun game to play with friends you have come to the right place.

We dont even like football but we like this game.

We really like this game but something that we think is holding it back is some kind of strength meter as to how hard Im hitting the ball. We feel like if we had a way to gauge how hard we were hitting it Id be able to kind of size up situations better & make it a little more competitive. Other than that one thing its a great game.

During this quarantine Pixel Push Football has been a great game for us and our 5yr old son! He loves this game.

The only thing we ask is more features in the future. As other people asked maybe a league mode or an actual football type mode. We love retro games like these, the only downside is that the developer usually doesnt add much in terms of features. But honestly with how much work it seems youve put in over the last weeks you are an AMAZING developer. Please keep updating and adding new game modes! We never want to get tired of this amazing game! Also you should make a twitter to keep us posted about development and development of any other games you will make.

Im having a blast playing this game, the first game we played we got very into it because of how great the mechanics worked and how accomplishing it felt to score. Our main suggestion would be to add a tournament and/or league type of mode where you can play against the computer. There are a limited amount of modes to play as of right now. Overall this game is a great start to what can be a top notch football game.

A fun paper football title with great physics. The ability to change the designs from the get-go is also really appreciated! Fun and simple diversion that is tricky to master. We especially love the defenders version, wish there was a 1 v PC with defenders as well, and a league or season mode. Other than that its a great little game.

This is a great game. Doesnt take long to knock out a game, it has single player and 1v1 modes. Tons of customization to give it the look you want. Great retro sound! And different ways to practice with challenge modes. And no in app purchases.

This is a cleverly designed version of a simple game we played many years ago on elementary school cafeteria tables when we used a comb ( yes, once upon a time kids carried combs) to represent a football. It was fun then and is more fun now thanks to this wonderful iOS game. It is all about the players skill in judging the force and direction of flicks, realistic physics, and an AI opponent that misses often enough to give humans a chance to win occasionally. Very enjoyable on both our iPhone and iPad. Hope the developer adds GameCenter or similar format that tabulates wins.

This game takes us back to playing paper football in school without the after school detention! It even has a cool retro feel and multiplayer mode.

This game has a really cool retro feel. Its easy to pick up but challenging to master. The AI is great for single player but the real fun is when you go face to face against a friend. We wont be putting this one down anytime soon.

Stumbled across the game while searching for something football related. Its nostalgic and took us back to our youth when we played push football on the desks in school. Easy to understand and play. Lot of fun.

Game is really fun and tough to master. Highly recommend. To make it even better play tabletop on an iPad if you have one.
