Community Insight:

Its a bunch of simple Konami-themed Picross puzzles, not a ton and you can finish in a few hours but yes, its completely free. No IAP and- excluding those for other Konami games, no ads. This is what a good F2P game should be.

The only ads are banner pop-ups for the developers own games when you go to the Home Screen. There are no video ads to watch EVER. We have completed 1/3rd of the puzzles and still no video ads. !!!!!! A welcome reprieve!! In addition, you can zoom in on the squares so you dont mess up. In addition, you can mess up as much as you like without being penalized. The Boss puzzles every 3 hours are a new twist that is kinda fun. :). If you like nonograms, you MUST try this app.

We liked his game Ninja Five-0. This is not nearly as complex as that game, but Im still playing. So that has to count for something. We hope Gen Suzuki is doing well.

Fun way to spend some time when you should be working.

We appreciate so much that there are no ads, or coins to buy. Its just a game. And it works really well at that.

Writing a review to stop being asked.

Im a big fan of nonogram/picross type games and this one is no exception. The puzzles and art are nice and it controls fine. The only real problems we have are mostly with us, those being theres no way to choose which theme or size of puzzle youre doing and Ive finished all basic puzzles so all we have left to do are the boss ones which take three hours to refresh. Still, totally recommend.

One of the best picross apps. Controls are simple. Gameplay is fun. And you get to celebrate classic Konami characters and games the whole time.

We just love playing this game with our earphones on.

We only love the game for its art when you complete it our autistic brain kinda wants us to be dumb.

This would be a perfect picross game, out of every single picross game we've tried on the app store this has been the only one where the controls aren't frustrating, were it not for one thing – ads. Please let us spend money to get rid of the ads.

Ive beaten this game before and the one thing we hate so much about this is yall never made a patch to instantly play the boss puzzles after completing all the regular & mid boss ones. So, now we have to wait 3 hours just to complete the next one, which makes us want to stop playing. Please fix this.

We wrote a review before and that one mentioned the wait for boss puzzles being annoying, especially once you've finished the normal puzzles (its been a month and im STILL trying to finish the boss puzzles). Well we just realized something, which is that when you place X's on a square, it really should prevent the square from being filled in. For example, on a 15×15 grid, a column is listed as 3 3 3 3. Thats 3 filled, 1 space, repeating til that final 3. If you place the X's where they belong, and draw a line to fill the squares, the squares filled should ONLY be the 3 3 3 3, since the others were X'd out. However if you do that in THIS app, it just makes a line of 15 filled squares. Most other picross games/apps have this feature, at least the good ones do. The more we play this app the worse we feel about it, and thats only being dragged out by the way the boss puzzles work.

Game has banner ads, with no way to remove them.

We are 75% of the way through the collection, and all of a sudden the whole puzzle got super tiny! Now, every level is only about an inch squared. It happened in the middle of a level, and now all puzzles are unplayable. Is there a fix? How do we go back.

This is an excellent Nonograms game; the puzzles range from very easy to exceptionally hard, with a good difficulty curve that makes us feel like we learned a lot about how to solve these kinds of puzzles. The one annoying thing is that the big multi-part puzzles are time gated. We were hoping thatd change when we completed all the normal puzzles, but it didnt, which means we have to remember to come back to it every few hours if we want to beat it.

We got super excited because we were 99.6% when we got home. Did the last two puzzles and was greeted with a lovely congratulations screen! But whats this? Now we can replay everything to beat our time or theres an expert mode now too? We thought we were done and could move on with our life, but it doesnt seem like thats in the cards. Ill be back to update this review should we ever beat expert mode. Not sure we will since the game found our strats and disabled them.

Ive been having a great time playing this game for hours and hours and have never really gotten bored with it. If we have about 5 minutes, Ive usually been sitting down and completing a puzzle. However, our one problem, and its one thats particularly popped up now that Im 96% complete with the game, is the recharge time for boss puzzles. Its now at the point where the only puzzles left to complete are boss puzzles and having to wait 3 hours each time is pretty annoying. Maybe instead either the timer could be dropped to 2 hours or a normal square could become a boss puzzle square after you complete all of the available normal puzzles for it. Either way, the game has still been a blast and its more of a minor gripe than a major design issue, but still probably worth considering updating.

Almost no ads for a free puzzler game. Its a good one.

This game is amazing. Ive just hit 100% and now working to completing the expert level puzzles again. We do wish there were a paid version either maybe more puzzles but this is hands down so much fun and we need a sequel.

We wish they offered a paid version of this app. Id gladly drop a few dollars on it to keep if from pulling ads and displaying them.

The store is bugged and the game wont let us play without an update, which it refuses to do :(.

Peepeepoopoo123, this game is good.

Easily one of our favorite iOS games. We played it a while ago and now Im picking it up and enjoying it from scratch again. We love the puzzles and the ads are not annoying. Feels to good to be true. Thanks Konami for this amazing piece honoring your legacy of games.

Downloading this game is a no-brainer. Its basically Nintendos Picross, but from Konami with Konami owned characters. Part of us wonders if the point of this is to keep up the copyright on some of these characters or something. Regardless, this is a real, fun, full game with hours of gameplay to enjoy. Initially we assumed when you ran out of hints that it would try to sell you more, but it doesnt. If you run out, it recharges one after 10 minutes, infinite times. If you like logical puzzles, or picross specifically, its absolutely worth grabbing this. Its worth money, and is a real, full game…theyre just giving it away for free, so get it! Update: we just finished the game after playing it off and on for three years! We dont regret our time spent with it. The only real catch we know of is Im not sure how well this works on an iPhone just because you might have to zoom around, we played it entirely on an iPad where you can easily see the entire board at once. Well, that, and as far as we know theres no way to transfer your save game from one device to another, which is a shame. But other than that, its a fun type of gameplay, and well-made, and totally free.

Their pixel art Konami related makes this Picross really special.

Great picross game. The sprites from beloved games is a good selling point. But a true sell could be made by being able to remove ads. Free is great but if we like a game Id prefer to chunk down a couple bucks to not be hounded about the latest soccer game we could care less about.

We love this game! This is the only one we have found that lets you work the puzzle without giving you a limited amount of errors, and making you start all over. We like the ability to work out the whole puzzle on our own. Some of the puzzles you can just breeze through, and some are killer hard. And we love that once youve completed all puzzles, there is an expert mode, or you can work the regular puzzles again. And if you just cannot solve it, you can request a hint every ten minutes. There are so many puzzles, you still find them challenging the second time around. We are a senior, and this helps us keep our mind sharp! Thank you so much.

We do agree with other complaints about the timer on boss puzzles. We like the suggestion of the timer getting shorter as you complete more and more of the non-boss puzzles. Otherwise, we are very pleased with the game. The puzzles are good and the nostalgic aesthetic is spot on. We appreciate the alternate control scheme (since we have shaky hands) and the option to hide the timer (although we would really like to be able to hide the finish times in the Collection too). The interface is also better than we thought possible for a nonogram game on a mobile phone (though Ill always prefer a traditional handheld controller). Im honestly confused. This game was free, has no IAPs, and we still havent found any ads. We love it, though. (update – Ads have recently been, ahem, added. Kind of ugly but not especially annoying.) If you ever added additional puzzle packs as IAPs we would definitely look into buying one. Id also buy and replay this on the Switch if the ads and boss timer were removed (we feel they could be kept if the game were added as a free title).

This is a great pic Ross game, but Im stuck at 75% because the timer on the boss puzzles only lets you play one every three hours. Apparently the remaining 25% of puzzles are all boss puzzles. :(. It was fun before that though.

We would gladly pay a few dollars to get rid of the annoying ad that pops up after you complete a puzzle which seems to be timed to appear right before we go to tap on the next puzzle. We dont want to play your soccer game.

Just cleared all untimed puzzles and still left with 90 puzzles considered boss puzzles. With something that Id like to finish quickly now will be drawn out months since we can complete around four of those a day due to the timer. Only downfall for a great picross game.

Features characters from several different Konami games such as Bomberman, Castlevania, Tokimeki Memorial, and Gradius! Definitely worth your time playing if youre an expert at Nonograms.

Good picross game. We beat all the basic levels and all the expert levels without guessing, which is a far sight better than most of the disposable picross games in iOS. No hints needed either. There are two main downers: 1- The forced timer between boss missions. 99% of the time it took to beat this game was just running out the timer. 2- The articficial difficulty of expert mode. It would have been much better to have more new, harder puzzles rather than recap the same levels without the x. The good news is when you get to expert there is no timer any more. So wait out those timers.

We too am frustrated by having to wait for the boss puzzles. No option to pay or watch ads to get them, either, so whats the point in making us wait? The last update mentioned a new mode that could be unlocked, and we have yet to find this or understand what they are talking about. Im about 80% complete, with only boss puzzles left, so it must be unlocked by now, correct.

Music is great. Aesthetics are great. Ads are fine, although we wish we could pay to turn them off. But why is the puzzle so tiny?! Theres so much unused space around the puzzle, which is shrunken into the lower right. No idea what they were thinking. And they know its too small, because they allow you to zoom in on larger puzzles. Even then, though, youre just zooming in on a section of the puzzlein what universe is that helpful for a nonogram?! What a head-scratcher, this one.

Like many other reviews, our only complaint is this pointless waiting required to solve these boss puzzles. Otherwise, good free Picross app.

The ads aren't too busy, and they are just for other Konami games. Still an excellent game for free.

This was a great game. Newer update filled it with intrusive ads that make it terrible. Gross.

Title kind of says it all. Straight forward UI, charming classic Konami pixel art as nonograms but you have to close a pop up after each one.

They just had an update to the game that broke it. Then they fixed it and we lost all our progress. We were at 70% percent completion What a shame. Bye.

All the positive reviews this got was by being an excellent, unobtrusive app. This is no longer the case. They have updated it twice to put ads all over the screen. It now even has full screen ads. Old versions refuse to run as they check the net to see there are newer versions. A great app now laid low. Skip it.

Fixed our problem fast, and great game.

We were playing and when we got sent to the main menu, we saw that there was a new update, so we downloaded it. Since we downloaded the update, our game never boots properly and gets stuck after the loading screen before flashing a red screen and crashing.

This game is fantastic. We really enjoy playing it. Out of the blue in the most recent version there are ads all over the screen including a pop up when you complete a puzzle or enter certain screens. No way that Ive found to pay to have the ads not show up. This used to be a shining example of how good a free game could be without ads, now its a fun game littered with ads. Im pretty sad about it.

This was easily a 5 star app until the last update. Unfortunately, ever since that update, the game will not run if Apples Music app is also running. The last update also introduced ads. This game has been ad free for a few years without charging a cent, so Im not against them adding in ads, especially since the ads are only for Konamis other games and they are not visible when actually solving a puzzle. The only part we dislike is the near-full screen ads that you have to close in order to do anything on the main screen.

Probably one of our favorite games, up until the most recent update and now its nothing but ads, large banner ad on the bottom and every time you complete a puzzle a giant one pops up taking up the entire screen advertising one of their other titles. Every. Single. Time.

In the greed to advertise the other games in the latest update, the sound is gone.

The newest update filled the game with advertisements and have made it very unstable.

Latest update ads a permanent banner add at the bottom of the title screen. Also ads a full screen pop up ad every time you finish a puzzle. Crashes on iPad unless you do a fresh reboot.
