What happened to the humans?

In a desolate, ruined world inhabited only by robots, the taciturn android Horatio searches for answers. Where did he come from? Where have all the humans gone? And what, if any, was his role in it?

Torn from his peaceful existence in the crashed airship, the UNIIC, Horatio and his sarcastic floating friend Crispin are forced to travel to Metropolis, City of Glass and Light, to retrieve their stolen power core. What they discover there changes their understanding of the world and their place in it, for better or worse.

Full voice acting, featuring Logan Cunningham (the voice of Bastion) as Horatio.

Adventure Gamers – "Beautiful, surrealistic retro graphics; likeable characters and a deceptively sprawling plot." 4/5

Eurogamer – "Primordia is delightful, smart and packed with personality." 7/10

Rock Paper Shotgun – "A cast of thoroughly insane-in-the-short-circuited-membrane side characters keeps the ride nice and lively as well, complimenting the oppressively dreary setting with a strong mix of mystery driven drama, Old West frontier charm, and dark humor."

Gamezebo – "Primordia is a very good game, packed with enough secrets, surprises and twists to keep it interesting from start to finish." 4/5

Find out what gamers are saying about Primordia:

Yes, we did not feel like dealing with the more frustrating figuring out how to do things. We had actually put this game down and forgot about it and then picked it back up after enjoying some of the other Wadjet Eye games. The story became more engaging and immersive as time went on. Great storyline.

As per a previous reviewer, we also found the graphics quite hard to see on an iPad. Despite that, we gave the game five stars because we loved it.

Masterful storyline. Short and sweet dialogs give you more game play. You play the game , it doesnt play you. Music so perfect you forget its playing. Intense smart intuitive puzzles, some very tricky. Hard to put this game down. We love the characters naming conventions. Original scenery.

This game really nails it on atmosphere and mood which is a big reason we love playing these games. You really get a sense of immersion in the world with this game and it’s a cool world. Also has a a good bit of wry humor but it’s not overdone. Voice acting is great and writing is really smart. We play a lot of the newer point and click games and this one definitely stands out.

5 minutes into the game, and we already knew that we were in love. Crispin, your helper, is perfectly witty, and Horatio NullBuilt Version V, was intelligent and a deep character. Right away we were in love with the art, with the curiosity, and we could not bring myself to put the game down. It brought out so much raw emotion in us, and we fell in love over and over again. It was so worth buying, that words can’t even begin to explain. The only issue is that it’s impossible to get one achievement, but compared the wonder and joy we felt, that’s nothing.

The robots sound more human than some people we know! Now waddaya think of that?

We love adventure games, no hidden object, match 3 or intense battles. This was perfect. Just the right amount of difficulty, little hints from your helper without have to search for a walk through. The length was right for the price.

Good old school adventure game, like the other wadjet games. Decent length, and definitely worth the money. Character personality is great in this game too.

We absolutely love this game and everything Dave and Janet Gilbert do. Visually stunning, twisty/fun plot… Another masterpiece and we greedily ask only for more games and iOS ports from Wadjet Eye!

This game is perfect. The story is unique and memorable. The puzzles are just right in difficulty and tie in well with the plot. The atmosphere is engrossing. And the writing and voice acting is excellent. We couldn’t put it down until l we find usher it!

We loved The Blackwell series. Primordia does not disappoint. We especially loved Crispin’s wry sense of humor. (Voiced by the same actor who voiced Joey ) great puzzles and voice acting. Great story! Keep creating Wadjeteye.

Excellent story! Game play is similar to kings quest, but far better, darker, deeper story. If the story is the most important part of the game them get this, if you want action and fighting, this is not for you.

Writing/plot: top-notch, truly some of the best sci-fi we have ever read Voice acting: excellent, and those who have played the other wonderful Wadjet games will hear some familiar and incredibly talented voices once again Replayability: there are an impressive number of turns of events that truly do depend on the choices you make–particularly the ending Content: there’s a lot here… You are definitely getting more than you paid for we can’t say enough about this game. Witty, funny, by turns serious and thoughtful as well, sad, triumphant–it really is an experience.

Love these games. Only complaint is that it was too short. But a great game to curl up with on a holiday weekend.

Very moving story! Yet another fantastic piece next to jemeni rue. Primordia is a tad more puzzle based intensive which made us resort to a walk through on a couple occasions but overall awesome story! Well worth the $

The plot, characters and overall story is well written. The artwork blends nicely with the adventure and the many puzzles and inventory items can change gameplay, endings. Our low point on this game was the humor, a wisecracking robot companion that distracted from the adventure, the mood setting. Music and sounds are well crafted. Another adventure? Please.

This is a truly wonderful point and click adventure with very good art, voice work, and a fantastic story. By far the story and writing is our favorite part as the game tackles ideas such as sacrificing individuals identities for the sake of a more efficient system, which plays neatly into the question of the machines being more like humans or still just devices used to improve the system. Great game, and a very good IOS port.

We love the storyline. Worth playing. Alternate endings. Exactly what you want in a Pn’C Adventure.

A tale of humanity’s distant legacy. Wonderfully imagined and vividly realized. This is a tale, an experience, that we will long remember. We were wholly engrossed in the story and felt fully rewarded emotionally, aesthetically, and interactively. The cast of characters grows quickly and each adds a vibrant piece to the puzzle, to the legend of what happened to the robot gods, their makers: us. From the music, to the voice acting, to the plot, to the art and graphics; this is a fine quality game. Please give it a chance. You will love it.

Playing through this game, we found plenty to think about – a bit of Foucault here (Domus and Megalopolis, Panopticon), Ayn Rand there, and a bit of Orwell too. Add to this no less than two disparate Messianic visions and your basic dystopic bargain, and youve got a lot to reflect on by games end. The game mechanics are well planned too. While it is always possible to get to a good ending and a bad ending, choices made along throughout the game will determine whether you can get the best ending and the worst ending. And puzzles drive most of the action,

We loved this game. We loved the puzzles, the story, all the nuance and the characters. Brilliant story telling! Kudos!

We played all of the Wadjet Eye iOS ports we they all have been a pleasure to play and figure out. We haven’t even played this yet, brought it because they never disappoint. From the Graphics to the Gameplay your going to have a great time. :)

This game, originally made to be bought on Steam. Is an excellent, fun and challenging point and click adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world. It features two funny and prominent main characters, it’s definitely worth a buy!

This game is amazing! The music ,art style , and voice acting mesh perfectly together to envelop you in the world if primordia. The somber tone and story elements reminded us a touch of blade runner. We defiantly recommend downloading it. Our one critisim is that the controls are not immediately available they appear when you hover over a certain part of the screen you don’t get a menu until you find your data pouch ,but we suppose that was intentional to give focus to the landscape of the scene. Overall great game.

Once again an incredible story, great puzzles, and lots of heart and humor. Just waiting for the next WadjetEye game now that we’ve finally played ALL of them!

This game is amazing, especially if you like point and click adventure. An awesome mix of a desolate, apocalyptic, biological/mechanical world, with lots of machines with their own agendas and personalities, not to mention a great plot. There are a lot of non-linear choices that affect the game later on, which is great, multiple endings, and the achievements ‘actually’ mean you did something out of the ordinary path. The voice acting is so good. The music is dark and draws you in. Thank you for bringing it to iPad !

This game flat out takes all the elements of an adventure game and executes really well. Soundtrack sets the mod, the pace is just right and the overall storyline, although predictable, still keeps you engaged.

Pros: Great story and voice acting, beautiful "retro" graphics, some optional storyline choices/actions Cons: Battery-burning app, AWFUL item detection on screen.

Fun game, fully voiced, interesting concept. Worth the price of purchase.

This is a really good game with multiple endings. Our only real complaint is that there are too many useless items and red herrings in the game.

We enjoyed the game, it had interesting challenges and superbly atmospheric. The artwork and environment was eerie and intriguing. We wish it was a longer game. Our disappointment was the use of humor and the banter. It ruined what we were hoping for a gritty serious adventure into a dark harsh world. It degraded that effect for us.

Plot was good, puzzles were challenging enough, voiceover work was excellent, a retro vibe and feel even further peaked our interest. The only reason we didnt give this title five stars is due to a crash that renders the game currently unfinishable. Said crash occurs later in the game involving a puzzle solution of melting a door. Research shows this crash has existed in the Steam forums from the PC version which was reported back in October of 2017. We hope one of the devs sees this particular review, as we would love to finish the title.

Really poor graphics. We expect better.

Graphics dark, blurry. Need to be an engineer to understand and complete some tasks. Bits and pieces needed to construct tools hidden in inscrutable places. Good story line but must achieve difficult benchmarks to learn the secrets of Horatio.

Graphics are awful. Did they just dig this up from 1987?

Graphics belong on an Atari pong game The vocals sound like they were written for a children’s Japanese afternoon cartoon. Take a close look at the pictures sampled on the app page above and you can see the level of the graphics. You would be better off with a comic book.

The graphics on our iPad Air are very pixilated, and it’s hard to know what we’re looking at, even though the pictures in the App Store look crisp and clean. In the few rooms we’ve been in so far, it’s been hard to know what objects are in view. Also, dialogue text appears and disappears very quickly, resulting in our not catching all of the plot. If we continue playing, we may upgrade this rating, but for now, the graphics alone make it too difficult to consider finishing this game. We recommend reading other reviews to see if these comments are trending.
