We love the graphics and the controls are awesome we did have to swap some around but other than that which wasnt a problem because it was so easy. The story is amazing so far Ive only been playing for a few minutes though so we dont know if our opinion is relevant just yet.
We actually stated this on PS5 and got about 75% done and then Borderlands 4 came out and the Ghost of Yotei and then we saw it on our iPad and had to get it. It is the funnest iPad game we have ever played.
This game has exactly what we loved about the 2000s reboot trilogy and expands on it in really creative ways. The last console we owned was a PS2 in 2010ish and our favorite game to play was Warrior Within. When we saw this had come out on mobile we decided to give it a try before buying a switch or PS5. We cannot believe how good it is. The soundtrack, the puzzles, the story. It is so rich. You can customize difficulty as you progress. We used the recommended difficulty and found it appropriately challenging without wearing us down. We reached 30% before ordering our first Bluetooth controller and Im hooked. The world is massive. Im listening to the soundtrack every day in our car. We cannot believe how familiar the game feels to the 2000s trilogy, considering its 2D metroidvania. We have to get a console now and play every single PoP game. This has really got us back into it completely. Im at 40% and have made a conscious decision to not watch walkthroughs. Its more enjoyable when we solve a puzzle or complete a task. There are a few little bugs with the mobile version but it is light years better than most mobile games Ive played. Specifically, we noticed that after we connected a Bluetooth controller, our memory shards stopped displaying. They are blank now even if we disconnect the controller or delete them and remake them. Also when we go back to just using our touch screen, buttons are missing and will not return. So we have no choice but to complete the game with a controller, which is not a problem because its way better with one. Those are the only issues Ive noticed. Really incredible game. This was totally worth $10. Buy it.
Its simply awesome and we really appreciate the efforts of the game.
Initially, we didn't have high expectations for this game, but then we got hooked! We played for 25 hours in a week. The game runs stably, our phone doesn't overheat, and the various optimizations for touchscreens, along with the excellent boss designs and storyline, all demonstrate the developers' dedication. Plus, we don't need to sit in front of a computer; we can play it lying down whenever we want. We're grateful to the development team for fulfilling our wish. We look forward to more excellent games coming to iOS. By the way, many Chinese players are also playing this game. Keep it up.
For be a game so simple is very interesting and have a good battles like games back of the time . We love it.
Beautiful visuals, challenging platforming, well developed story, and just plain fun to play! Cant ask for more in a game. Its a terrific IOS port and the devs have designed touch controls about as well as anyone could have, but this game really needs a controller to shine. If you have one (or plan to get one) dont miss out on this game. Its great.

We havent had this much fun with a game in awhile. Definitely hard to find a good game with amazing gameplay, story, and art. You can tell the developers cared about the game.
Its an amazing game as everyone knows. But the current version has two significant bugs. Memory shards dont show up in our save anymore for some reason. They are blank screenshots, making them useless. Also, crucial buttons are missing from the touchscreen controls, like attacking and jumping. Controller still works.
Just a pure and honest port of a great game, first play through is on mobile with backbone and base 15 model iPhone. Price is great and highly recommend.

We need a option to fixed our joystick, the loose joystick messes with our experience.
Fun when it works. We often get stuck in loading screens and have to restart. Every 5 minutes is too often. Occasionally sure, but its too often to really enjoy.
We value simplicity with a mobile game. This game might be amazing with a controller but for $14.99 its too much for our mobile touch screen.
We like how it tells you theres no cost when you go to download it. But when you open it, it says its 10 bucks. Just say it its $10 right off the bat. It was also very glitchy and kept stuttering on our iPhone 16 Pro Max.

We love the game and can play from our iPhone 13 fine (some cut scenes are laggy though) but if we try to play it on our iPad (9th gen) we press claim to download the full version and it crashes. Sometimes it will start to download but still crash about a quarter of the way into the download. Ive hard rebooted our iPad and the same happens. We reinstalled the app and the same thing happens. We did notice that if we use our controller that when the claim full version pop up appears we still can select different options from the menu but none will open. There are words the cover each other on the claim full version pop up for a little bit too. Im thinking that 2 things are wanting to show at the same time and its causing the crash. Please investigate this devs so Im able to play, thank you. Update: after recent update the app still has the same issue. We followed the same troubleshooting we did before. The iPad bug still exists. Please investigate further on the iPad side, thank you.
Seems like it could be a fun game however it doesnt let u attack half the time or Perry. Also experienced moving forward and it goes backwards and vise versa. Dont think we would pay money for this.

Great game. Runs great, almost done with game and it hasnt crashed. A few minor bugs, but they are easily dealt with. We highly recommend playing with a controller. The game itself is hard, but doable with lots of fun puzzles. Cut scenes are fun and some of them blew our mind. Great for shorter play sessions.

We really love Metroidvania games. We previously completed the PC version and immediately bought the iOS version when it was released. We never expected it to be optimized so well on mobile devices. It's no wonder from Ubisoft. By the way, will there be a DLC released later? We want to play the Boss Rush on our mobile phone.
Really pays tribute to the original game (1989) we enjoyed and the DLC is not for the faint of heart. Very enjoyable and keeps us on our toes we beat this game and we still go back for more.
Just wow.Ive played the console version and we loved it.and now we can have it on our phones.actually Im Persian and everything about this was great especially the music it brings us back to that time thank you Ubisoft.

Thanks for fixing the issue we were able to get back in the game so Im updating our review to 5 stars although would appreciate a 60fps toggle as it would save power and battery life on our iPad Pro M4 hopefully that toggle can be added in a future update.
Great game, though it seems like the update today (June 2 2025) may have broken the game? Keeps trying to download an additional 2.6 GB of data, then stalling and producing an error (Network connection lost. Please relaunch the game GANISHKA-01001) even though our network is fine and we have more than enough space on our phone. Im now unable to play, even though it was playing just fine earlier today. Edit on June 4 2025: issue seems to be fixed.
It honestly is an amazing game from start to finish. Our only disappointment is we cant use our cloud save from our ps5 on our phone. It shouldnt be that way.
