Find out what gamers are saying about Quest of Dungeons:

After owning this game and continually having it on our phone and pad for 6 years. Other games (and phones actually ) have come and gone but this game has stood the test of time. Why buy it? 1. Its as funny as it is entertaining 2. Its only 2$ and asks for no more which is kinda insane 3. You can play it anywhere with no delay and put it down without sweating it 4. Its sprite animated (like ol legend of Zelda) which Im a sucker for 5. No hidden cost, your not tracked, setup to buy more, and theres NO ADS! In a tech world thats built to constantly take its so nice to go to a game without a corporate agenda 6. You dont need to be online 7. It actually pretty challenging with different levels, characters, and multiple games with ever changing levels (FOR 2$!) But you know what makes this game really REALLY great? After 7years of playing it, this month our 6yr came up to us and asked to put it on HIS iPad and we can put it on his iPad without any worry. That makes this game really uniquely amazing and we wish you made more. This isnt a review as much as its a heart felt thank you from us and ours.

Spent thirty minutes tapping our way through a few levels only to find the only thing that can kill us is the skull sign we accidentally tapped at the beginning. Even bosses mindlessly walk over traps and kill themselves.

Its a fun, fast paced dungeon crawler on the cheap, what more could you ask for? We would say that the controls/ layout is a bit sloppier than they are on the switch, but this version came first and its like $3-5 cheaper here than on the eshop so why would you buy it over this version?

This is a very fun game! We like the inventory management. And the map is good to have too. We’ve had it for awhile and just recently started playing again so we purchased the new dungeon. Worth looking at for anyone who likes these kind of games.

This game reminds us a lot of Fatal Labyrinth on the Sega Genesis. We love the simplicity of this rogue-like.

A soulless, worse version of Pixel Dungeon. But still it gets two stars because there’s a low bar for dungeon crawlers on the iPhone, and if you like such games, this checks the boxes and has competent programming and at least meh graphics. We only wish it had some heart; as it stands, it feels like it was made by someone outside the roguelike community without an artistic vision who saw an opportunity to monetize the genre.

We are new to the Rogue style games but we love this!!! Great level of difficulty while still playable.

This is a really simple, fun dungeon crawler. Very addicting, no bugs, beautiful retro graphics, and a great way to pass time!

A very fun game with good graphics, no bugs, and infinite FUN. Of course, we get frustrated when we die after playing for a long time, but the fun is just playing all over again, with a different character, with a completely different experience. Keep up the good work!

Honestly this is one of the better rogue like dungeon crawlers. We love the massive quantity of loot you can find there is a huge variety including jewels and ore you can sell for gold( our advice spend all your gold on health potions, you will find all the best weapons and armor outside of the shop) there are random boss encounters and quests which are great for leveling up since you get a ton of xp for completing them try to complete all quests before you go to the next floor. We hope the developer is still planning a new content update cause we’re very excited for it.

Have this on the PC, and love it. Improvement as it shows key locations on boxes as well as rooms. Hard to see bats against dark floor since phone is often used in brighter conditions. Wish store was larger like in the PC version or that you could page it. Explored every room of the dungeon and did not find the boss to complete the quest. Maybe he appeared in a room we were in previously before we picked up the quest. Anyway, 2 thumbs up!

Oh the frustration of dying in one hit from a boss after spending 3 hours leveling up… Great game still.

The only problem we’re having with QoD is that the HUD icons can and do get in the way of targeting with the ranged classes. If an enemy is too close to the onscreen icons, they cannot be targeted. This doesn’t come up a lot. But it does so enough to be a problem..a problem that could stand to be fixed. Besides that, QoD is a top notch product with some truly inspired music.

Great if generic core. Seems there’s no way to pass a turn. Controls on iPad Air are overly sensitive. Very reductive. Easy. Gold system is useless.

We love this game. We have spent long periods of time just exploring the depths of these dungeons. We are giving this five stars so more people will play this, and so that the developer can read this, because there are some stuff you should add: 1-The game should be more difficult. Keep easy how it is and instead make normal hard and hell more difficult. 2- The controls are good other than the fact that we’re we tap is not always registered. Sometimes is taps were we didn’t and that caused death a lot. 3-Add options for the generation of the dungeon. You can set the amount of loot, monsters, and the room size. Maybe add seeds, or does your generation not work like that? 4-Vendors pricing should go down, at least on the first floor. He should have worse stuff so you can actually buy them. 5-Add more quirky stuff like the pirated copy joke at the main screen and the generic brand water joke. Those are funny and are what makes us like this game. So those are just a few of what we want in this game, and why we like it. This game should keep getting updates, so keep up the good work! Also, if you add any of this, we will update with new things, because we have a whole list of goodies that would work great with this game.

Love the game, the only feature we want is the mini-map that is on the PC version of the game.

The four different classes gives the game excellent replay ability. We’ve already spent 20+ hours playing… Well worth the cost, do buy it already!

This game is amazing! We only wish there were like potions that you could drink or throw at enemies like fire or ice potions that set them on fire or freeze them. With the fire potion maybe it could spread through the room sometimes and you could catch on fire by accident or something. Overall this is a great game.

It’s good game enough, But we think this game need to improve some points. First, Uncomfortable movement. If you miss a finger tap, It’s deadly sometimes. Need stick option! Second, Absence of Hotkeys. For example, Auto scout or Rest key.. And, Casted arrows and magics(like fireball) never dirupted by wall or objects. We Think this make less variety tactic or situations. Thanks for read our thoughts.

We really wanted to like this game, however, one major thing killed this game for me; When you die you start over every time. No matter how far you make it, you have to start over each time. We would improve our star rating of this game if the consequences of dying weren’t so high, it’s just not fun to start over again and again.

Finally a decent rogue-like that doesn’t require us to "pay to win". Kudos to the dev for not being greedy.

Well worth the 2 bucks…. Very addicting gameplay.

We have a 64 bit smart phone, no reason the 8 bit rpg should lad as much as it does. With that said however, great game. VERY random, VERY surprising. We like that you have to restart EVERY time you die, and that this game supports landscape as well as portrait. Just please fix the lagging issue.

Reminds us of Nethack/Rogue very much; just solid, enjoyable play. Only issue we sometimes found is that occasional starting toons lacked the ability to regenerate hp – not a deal at higher level (you will just be eating to recover hp) but can be a bit rough at low level.

Nice and fast paced gameplay with beautiful pixel graphics. Our only question is why we’re greeted with a ‘thanks for "buying" the game’ when we in fact bought it this morning from the app-store.

Pros -Smooth looking, very clean graphics -decent controls, point and move -decent sized inventory -good random map generator and level size -random quests per level -random bosses – good traps/bonuses scattered along level -shopkeeper to buy/sell goods and keys Cons -Don’t expect to die. Not rogue like in that regard -Quickly find all magic books by floor level 2/3 -non-stacking items in your inventory. Overall, this game is a fun roguelike game. Random drops of weapons, armor, etc. Problem with this is that you will find all your spells and/or abilities within 2 dungeon floors. Same with gold, you’ll have it falling out your ears very quickly. Kills the urge to go "wonder what is behind this door…" Secondly, we started playing on normal mode…. Could not die. You have too much access to health and the monsters don’t hurt you enough. Quit after level 3. Started a hard mode game. Could not die. Got to level 2 before we quit. If the developer could re-balance this game, this would be a solid rogue. Make us work for our magic and if we come across tougher enemies, then bring it on! This is a roguelike game!

We’re really digging this game. It’s well done, polished, and has a great sense of humor. Our only quibble is that I’d like to be able to move without needing to constantly reselect our weapon (wizard). It would also be handy if the save games supported iCloud syncing so we could continue our game from our iPad to our iPhone. Other than that, it’s awesomesauce!

The game is lots of fun, but we think with a few tweaks it could be spectacular! More magic: getting all of the books right away is a downer, and we think it would be better to learn more and more as you go. Also, creating stacking items so that players can carry keys more effectively.

… That Permadeath feature wasn’t included at all. It’s really frustrating to start everything from scratch every time your character dies, and after third time you just decide to stop right then and there. Let’s get real: old school games have their unique appeal, and Quest for Dungeons represent it brilliantly – but what’s the reason in keeping such utterly frustrating rudiment in the app developed in 2014 when it doesn’t even used for game monetization? Surely, once upon a time our ancestors enjoyed such games in full – but historically they washed their clothes in rivers; at some moment they became too tired of that and created a washmashine. Dear developer, in this case you don’t even need to create something so innovative – just please exclude this so called feature, introduce a Save-Continue basis and let your customers enjoy otherwise brilliant game. Thank you in advance!

Normal is what easy should be, great game but finding all spell books and having over 60k gold on the second level is a bit much. Also we believe that the shamans base power is too strong, accidentally stumbled across a boss first or second door and beat the crap out of it. Because it only hit us 3-4 times. Maybe make it have half the effect on bosses. Graphics are amazing, but mostly this game feels like softcore nethack.
