We think it is a great game but there are different modes to purchase but when we do buy it it doesn't change bit overall a very good game.
Ya good game could get into it however during the tutorial we noticed a distinct audible pop/ crack at the beginning/ end of the vehicles sfx audio loop. How did this not get addressed in the QoL department, just cover it up with meh music??? Ah whatever it almost had our attention.
We made 3 purchases and received none of the upgrade and version of game,had to file a report with apple to get our money back,its to bad this has happened the game was quite good.
We remember playing a version of this game called sonic surge about 10 years ago and we love how its almost exactly the same we love this game.
We were so pumped when we saw this newer version of Race The Sun, as we still play the original. After installing it, we noticed that they wanted the usual $4 or $5 to get the pro version and remove the ads. Well we also try to support devs we like so we paid our $4.99. Only problem is it doesnt remove ads. Every time we crash and try to go back and start over it starts playing some stupid ad. So we scrubbed the app, downloaded and installed it a second time. Opened it and restored the purchase and viola, nothing changed. Still getting ads. So now Im deleting this app for good and cutting our losses. But we still love the original version.
We played this on Mightier back when we were 7, good to know Race The Sun still out there.
Really fun but we wish there will be different levels like instead of 1 specific region the last one ever time we die we have to watch a ad.
Yall better not get apple arcade because games like this which one ups it exist lol.
First of all, we love this game! It pulls off the minimalistic aesthetic really well, and balances fast progression with replay value & fresh daily content. We have noticed a small issue though – on our iOS 13 iPhone SE (first generation), versions 1.27.3 and above crash upon opening. This we believe might be related to the new UI. This doesn't actually affect us as we 1) like the 1.26.2 ui better and 2) find the latest versions a bit too slow for our aging phone, but seeing that this game is listed as compatible with iOS 12 and above, it might be good for that requirement to be bumped up to iOS 14 or something like that. Anyway, thank you for all the work you put into this! We can't recommend it enough.

This game is amazing and fun we cant put it down although the premium for other game modes is kinda iffy maybe give them the game modes or atleast one free one thats all any other way 10/10 game.
We would give this -100 stars if we could. Our 5 year old accidentally purchased $100 worth of random crap in this app and our refund request was denied. Why even have the "unauthorized purchase by a minor" option in the refund request if you're going to refuse it?! We can't afford to just lose $100! Literally that's grocery and bill money. Like at the very least you could give us a reason why you refused the refund or give the option to appeal it. Absolutely horrible.
Very much enjoy the game but we cant get premium version, Ive purchased it many times and it always says purchase successful and/or youve already purchased this product would you like to get it for free but nothing ever changes, Im still stuck on the original version and we would very much like to play the premium version.
A pretty good game but controls are a little hard.
You can play with out adds and its also a game u can use to relax and just chill for a min.
Great game and fun time-waster, but a little heavy on the ads. We can look passed that, but what does irritate us is the daily objects ability to travel through obstacles while you are chasing it, causing you to crash. Please fix that.

Amazing game, but dont buy the premium. We bought it, and it just didnt register. Lost five bucks for nothing. Nonetheless, its a great game so it still gets three stars.
It charge you $5, but wont give anything for it, original version is fun but we got scammed of $5.
We paid for 5 dollar upgrade which we did not receive so hey why not try the actual app that costs 5$ thats bound to work and voila it doesnt fit on our phone screen and is way small For 5!! Dollars the least you could do is give what were paying for.
This game is amazing, it is calming with its beautiful atmosphere and its interesting mechanics. So, when we saw there was a premium option where we could play a calmer version if need be, we immediately jumped to the opportunity of experiencing the Zen edition. Though we spent the money, we have yet to receive what Ive purchased. After we bought it the option to purchase premium still didnt go away. We hadnt unlocked anything and when we attempted to re purchase it acknowledged the fact that we had already bought it. Ive attempted to restore purchases and still nothing.

This game is pretty fun, but why does the level progression cap at 25?? The incentive to keep playing drops off because you earn currency so slowly, and now there's no more challenges, no more level up rewards, nothing.
Great game so we finally decided to do the premium purchase and it unlocks the modes but pop-up ads still happen and no amount of restarting/reinstalling seems to fix it. Disappointing that this is still the case after many years. Clearly just collecting ad revenue as well as our money.
Very cool game, fun graphics and gameplay, but there are just too many issues. The major one for us is the controls. When we have a jump, we typically unintentionally use it while steering. We have tried to alter our steering to avoid it but we cant on a regular basis. The kicker is, if we do not use it, then try to intentionally use it, it goes not work. Other minor issues are that gathering upgrade currency is so slow as to almost not even be a real feature of the game, and the ads make the game unplayable, so a purchase is absolutely necessary.
Having a microtransaction and ad-supported model is one thing, we wont fault Race the Sun for that. But even when you pay to remove the ads, the game still prompts you to watch ads to revive, to increase your score, etc. And the career progression is still paced such that you basically need to pay indefinitely or put in dozens of hours to get enough currency to unlock anything meaningful. The fantastic gameplay is held back by that.
We paid for the no ads and the tris multiplier and then just a couple levels more and we maxed out. No more challenges, anything. Why did we pay for all this.
Game is fun but we barely even got got playing before we had seen 5 adds. We want to play a game, not watch endless commercials.

This game is actually good and the graphics are amazing, feels better than most racing games like this. We also really like the ship designs.
Had been looking for a replacement for Breakneck, this is close. Some levels are kind of sparse as far color/design goes, that grey-ish first level gets pretty boring to look at after many races. More power ups would be nice, if you don't find the right path through a level you can miss the majority of them. Definitely needs an extra life from the start, we rarely made it past the 4th level and having to restart from the beginning after just one crash gets pretty old. And after grinding forever as a ftp'er and finally earning enough to buy the most expensive ship, we were pretty disappointed with how similar it was to the first/free ship…after that much time, we were hoping that thing would be a rocket…it was not.
Just had a lame Anime porn ad pop up video pop up. Really not kid friendly.
Its a great game but we just got our cousin to download it so we could play at the same time to see who can last longer but now it crashes every time we press play.
Its just like the original just with few things taken out because its free. Theres one problem that we noticed: every time we get an ad, the game crashes after the ad.
Super exciting game that we play with our grandkids. Moves fast enough to take turns playing and no one has to wait long for a turn. And it gives us an excuse to play for hours honing our skills for the next time we babysit.
This game has like, one of the most engaging gameplay loops we have seen on mobile, but a few issues. The menu screen and UI in general dont really come off with the same style as the gameplay intends, the sound design can feel wonky. Gameplay should be simple, but in a difficult environment. We hope as we get further into it, it wont be too complicated, or distracting to the maneuverings Now for bias: we think the music sounds nice, but the way it was saved, or some other grain like effect makes it sound lower quality. The music is very important! Gameplay is smooth and fluid, but sometimes it can be hard to read maybe? Idk, if you dont know something that will dramatically improve the gameplay, besides visuals or whatever, Dont change it. Its great.

Latest update fixes the reset issue. Now we can give this game 5/5. Easily the most fun mobile game Ive played.
We would recommend this game if you like flying at high speed and through objects.
This is our new favorite game. We really like the challenges and the ship upgrade features. We find the game easy to learn and think the maps are varied enough to provide unique gameplay.
Its very similar to Star Wars Pod Racing for the N64 if you are looking for a mobil version of that game. It has an old school challenge to it where the game isnt forgiving so you will get good at the controls relatively quickly. Its the kind of game you dont see made often anymore where a single mistake will ruin your run but that adds to the fun and makes the game more exhilarating.
Hours of fun. Lots of levels, helps the day go by quicker.
The problem is Ive had this game for years and only managed to get to level 5. Wheres the fun in that? They need more power ups, jumps, and shields. That makes the game fun-exploring other levels, seeing new things, using power ups to fly! Give us the opportunity to get further cause Im not an avid gamer but love this game! Also, dont reset the game when you reach a certain level. All the things that we won from beating levels reset when we got to level 24 (b.s.).
This game is so much fun. We have one major problem though. Our game keeps resting. Im still playing the game but we hope it gets fixed.
