Rebels & Redcoats recreates the pivotal battles of the American War of Independence. The latest strategy game from Hunted Cow Studios brings the classic Decision Games board game to iPad; and is the first in a series of games to come from this exciting partnership. Take command as either the American colonies or the British Empire and shape the future of a nation, with 10 historical battles.
You will face the same tactical challenges as generals such as George Washington and William Howe, with missions of varying size and objectives, and 24 different combat units. As with previous strategy games from Hunted Cow, every effort has been made to capture the look and feel of the warfare methods, equipment and uniform of the day, and this title is no exception. In these battles players will also find the detailed and accurate maps, orders of battle, and named regiments from the well-loved Decision Games board game.
The hex-based game system features a large variety of infantry, cavalry and artillery units, generals and terrain types. Use your combined forces to outmaneuver, outwit or outshoot your opponent. Victory awaits you, Commander!

Very good game. Needs more scenarios.
We think there should be more battles like the battle of bunker hill in the battle of Boston and then there should be a lot more bottles in there because we just dont feel like spending more money to buy a second game for more battles.
This game has some new options, like the ability to combine units, that make it a bit better than some of the other Hunted Cow titles (I have them all!) but it fell short by only giving about 10 scenarios. You can play for either side, but that’s still only 20 scenarios and other HC games offer much more, and some like Ancient Rome offer $0.99 expansion maps. It’s a fun game but feels a little skimpy.
Just purchased this says service is down when we sent our email for the bonus battle.
It is tons of fun but we would like there to be multiplayer missions.
This game like almost all of the games made by Hunted Cow Studios Ltd. Is great fun! It’s a wonderful strategy game where YOU are the general. The historical info only helps to make the game even more interesting! The only thing we wish is that they had more maps in the campaign. Any of these games are great! Be sure to check out Peninsula wars for even more fun!
Historical background and detail is good. Hopefully there is nothing that will disturb the politically correct crowd and Hunted Cow caves to their insanity … After all Washington owned slaves. Pity Hunted Cow caved to Apple and re-did the Civil War games excluding the Confederate battle flag and substituting the naval flag!

Pretty cool game. We would ask the programmers if the King’s Mountain level is supposed to be a joke though. We literally destroyed every British unit in the first round.
We like the period, the interface, the graphics. What we hate is having to restart the game constantly because the system won’t let us end the turner it says we’ve moved everything when we haven’t. We also hate not having a back button or a "you sure you want the turn to end" option. So, if you can stand a lot of frustration, it’s a great game and can be a 5 when they fix it.
Good game, but only 10 missions makes it way too short with little replay value.
The game is not worth the price paid. You cannot win the Kings Mountain scenario as the British so forget about winning all 10 as that nation. Battle system could be improved as several leave you wondering how you lost so many troops or failed to do any damage.
Title says it all. Cannot get past game turn 8.
Been playing hunted cow, hexwar games for a while. This is right up there with the very best of em. Only thing missing is more campaigns. How bout a vietnam war game. With chopper missions…
We enjoy all the Hunted Cow games we have. What change we would like to see is when troops get down to 3 we can consolidate units.
Hunted Cow may have no bigger fan than we (check the reviews). But that cannot excuse the fact that this latest release is nothing short of a dismal money grab. We looked forward to Redcoates based upon a Pocket Tactics plug. A huge disappointment. What was delivered was a grossly overpriced expansion of Peninsular War (itself a copy of ancient Battle Rome). Nearly identical. At least there, there was more than an hour of distraction to be had. Boo. This is what selling out looks like.
This game needs some more refinement. Some controls – like formation and attacks – are not quite as clear as in theme CW series. We think the graphics overall are pretty impressive. We are disappointed in the very limited number of scenarios compared to the other games from this company especially at the prince set for this game. We like the size of the maps, which offer some tactical options, but with units entering from the distant edges it is often difficult to accomplish some objectives.
Fun game. Enjoyed like all of your other titles but $9.99 is a steep price to pay for the small amount of battles available, especially compared to the other games. Please release free updates.
We’ve been a great fan of Hunted Cows Tank Battles series. When an American Revolutionary War came out we were quite excited. Unfortunately the game was a bit of a disappointment. The game is way over priced for what you get and the games AI on hard is a bit of a push over However, the game has great potential and we have faith that Hunted Cow will do their fans right by improving this game.
Disappointing! There is only 1 campaign with 5 scenarios – you only get a couple days play for your $10. The AI is not very smart, poor scenario design makes the game easy to beat. One of their worst games…
Game is very slow. Takes forever for an enemy turn and it seems like if you don’t know the history of Gettysburg battles you are screwed. We are on turn 40 and can’t engage the enemy. Took us 3 hours to get here and we just want a war not a history lesson.
