Simply put, one of the finest mobile ports of an action arcade game we have ever seen. All the content is there and it controls well, with support for controllers. And to top it off, its Retro City Rampage. Have Fun.
Originally our review recently was a bit low because due to switching from a Moga controller to Backbone made it impossible to use the button for car jacking (instead it thought it was another pause button). Im very satisfied with how fast the patch was applied after emailing the creator! The only problem we found now is that occasionally the music goes silent especially for missions. Exiting to the main menu and starting the save again does not fix it. The only way Ive ever seen to get resolved is by closing out the game entirely.
We remember running into this game on the 3Ds back when they had the whole Nintendo Eshop. We ended up buying this to see if our memory as a kid matches what we would feel about this game today yep, still funny and still fun. The jokes and references are just rediculous kinda that slapstick humor on American Dad or Family guy. Just so many refrences and silliness while also maintaining a simple yet satisfying gameplay. Our only critique is the game is rather short, and while they do have challenges around the world, most of them become repetitive and dont really add anything of substance unless youre a completionist. Besides that its a cute game with great humor but short. The world does have plenty of Easter eggs and challenges so if that suits your for sure its a grab, and if your just looking for a short great time, also a solid grab.
We love this game its probably our favorite mobile game we recommend this. We are wondering can you please please please make a release date for shakedown Hawaii mobile and Xbox because we dont have the platforms to play it on but these :( so we would really love for shakedown Hawaii to come to Xbox and mobile thank you. Btw this game is awesome.
If you are reading this review, the. Just buy the game. This game is a complete game and is super fun to play. We have been playing with a controller and it is awesome. The story is well through out and super funny. The retro style and modern game mechanics are awesome. Just buy the game and use a controller.
Absolutely love this game!! The 80s references are awesome and it plays very well! We highly recommend this to someone looking for an action packed retro adventure.
The game is beautiful but you need to add the cloud save.
Got to 80% of game, had to reset our device. Found out there are no iCloud saves. Had to restart the game. Luckily, the game is lots of fun, so we dont mind. Wish we could zoom out even further. Playing on the touchscreen on the iPad Pro 12.9 gives a dizzying effect due to fast place scrolling gameplay. Minor complaints aside, its a five star game. Music is amazing…will buy sound track.

This game is great and we always come back to it over and over again so devs please add multiplayer.
Ignore the haters saying about the controls are terrible, just use a controller or resize the touch controls, so begone you ugly haters and don't come back. This game is what if GTA was made in 1985 with a bunch of references to Pop culture in the 90s. Played this before on PSN and PC.Recommended for $5 and people who like a Retro feeling. P.S. Thank you Vblank for releasing this game on mobile devices and when Shakedown Hawaii is released can you do the same thing and port this to Mobile devices plz.
This game is so fun, there is a lot of variety in missions and so much you can do in this game haven't ever got bored with it. Great game devs ! Hope you keep makeing good games like this.

Great throwback to many older games of the 90's. Enjoyed it during several long airplane flights and certainly worth the couple dollars to download it.
It's like gta1 but really cool we think they should add multiplayer and cloud save to continue on another device.
Amazing game but add online multiplayer for console and mobile devices and also add first person for mobile to get a better view and add lowriders.
The game plays very smoothly and has awesome pixel graphics. It has just the right blend of comedy and action. The only problem is that when you equip a gun it should tell you the name of the gun.
This game will take over the appstore if they had multiplayer.
We love this game! Everything in it is so fluent and perfect, but we can only get the all weapons cheat to work. We really need to know how to access stuff like gawd mode and all characters. Other than that multiplayer. Great game.

In our last review we said it needed a smaller display, but we found that in the options menu. Making this app our #1 app. We've been waiting for a game like this like our whole life. Now all it needs is multiplayer. And what do you guys mean by "new swimming controls?".
We love this game but it would be even cooler if It had multiplayer so that way you and your friends can cause distraction together.
Ive always loved this game. From its retro style to the homages to games and cinema, but this game is in desperate need of an update. Really hope this game gets some love for the new iPhones to make use of their speed and their larger screens.

We use our devices more for productivity than gaming, but we like to have a few choice selections available to kill time when necessary. This game is amazing, it truly recreates the vibe of when we were 12 playing those great old NES games! If you ever had a NES or Sega just buy this and thank us later. Another plus is that it's a small game, doesn't eat up your storage.
We have been on the fence for this game forever. We were originally turned off by the art style, but finally took the plunge and am glad we did. There's quite a bit to do in the game (missions, part time work, challenges, screw around) it's pretty much "retro GTA" in your pocket and we're having a blast with it. Sure, the graphics are supposed to be "retro" and we got used it it. The controls (like almost all touch screen games) and aiming are a little iffy but definitely not game breaking. Love the parody/references. If we had one (and only one request) would be to please allow cloud saves. Our phone is our primary source for the game and would love to play it on iPad without losing our progress. Other than that, it's pretty great.

Please add a mod workshop like the pc version of the game we want to be able to play as our custom character on the go.
We had this game previously on PSN (playstation network) snd honestly we got re al bored real fast, possibly because it felt detached and far away, like something was missing. Maybe all those years 2 feet from the nintendo conditioned us to want to feel the warm glow of pixelated games, whatever the reason it feels mo re at home on the ios that it did on psn, and the zoom feature really helps wether on iPhone or iPad, (air 2 so we zoom all the way out) deff worth the five if your into the generation of pixel gods.
Like gta? Like retro games? Then you will like this, even if you haven't played the game on the pc.
Good, good, good stuff! This is retro pixel gaming awesomeness. It's like having an 80's Grand Theft Auto. Shoot outs, robberies, car chases, and all that bad guy stuff. The presentation is very good. Graphics, sound, and control are excellent. Well worth the money. Good work Vblank Entertaianment.

What is RCR? In short, it started out as a retro style demake of Grand Theft Auto, but got turned into it's own game with a unique story involving time travel and it's littered with tons of pop culture and videogame references. It's loaded with minigames and tons of stuff to unlock that you can use in the free roam made later on. The game's soundtrack consists mostly of chiptune music. We originally played Retro City Rampage on our PC when it came out in 2012, and ended up buying it on PSVITA and 3DS and now we have RCR on our phone! The iOS port is very well done and we were a little unsure how this game would work with touchscreen controls. As an RCR veteran we got used to the controls pretty quickly, and this game also has MFI controller support too! Kudos to VBLANK for making this port and pulling it off very well.
Get this game warning you will waste your playing this game.

We love this game so much but the car controls terrible we hate driving in this game and we can't get off of a level because we have to drive a car so for this we give this game a 4 star. Please update car controls, please.
We're so happy they finally made this for mobile! We bought the original on our 3ds and we love it. The controls are strange, yet you get used to them pretty quickly. The story and extras are amazing. Great job.
The reviews were good so we got it but we disliked it its very clunky feels like a $2 game not a $5 game… Plus the art style makes it really hard to distinguish things sometimes idk we didn't like this game at all.
Very good concept, but the gameplay is mindless and just not fun. Driving the cars is very difficult.
