As someone who collects Digtal monster vpets religiously this app has left us extremely surprised the authenticity and attention to detail is absolutely insane, especially if your someone who grew up playing with these the sounds, the evolutions, training everything feels exactly like the Real deal and we cannot praise this app enough for that keep up the great work.
Ive owned many of the little keychains over our life and Im so happy someone created a fan made version! We wish there was a little cheatsheet because the evolve stats are different but its awesome ether way! We did get the paid version and its worth supporting the creator. GREAT WORK! We cant wait for future updates! Our only gripe is that local battles need a barcode to scan, Ill have to collect some.. :(.
This game is so fun we would highly recommend playing.
If youre getting into VPets or Digimon, this is a great app if you cant get your hands on the Bandai Digimon VPets. We paid to get the ads removed, and it worked for us- we use an IPhone. One thing Im hoping to see is the addition of colors to the VPets, we know its supposed to give us retro throwbacks, but it would be a nice nod to the color editions that came out in Japan.
The game is good while not perfect its still good. One thing that bugs us is you can at least put which Digimon is which. Like you can put the name of the Digimons species name on the Growth chart. Also can you also put how long when out Digimon will evolve into the next stage as well. Those recommendations our just nick picks we have,but still its a good game.
We just wish we could see the evolution requirements on the Growth Chart screen. Also full screen ads are awful and interrupt gameplay so we force close the app whenever they come up.
We noticed that the weight stat doesnt effect anything in game. In fact, it will reset itself. Another issue we have is the leaderboards. We have won over 100 ranked matches, but the leaderboard shows only 1 win.
Great addition with the new update. Pretty sure the store broke on IOS. Might want to look into it.
Ive always been a digimon fan and playing something like it whithout looking like a nerd is awesome.
We like it so far reminds us of the old school digivices but our only complaint is we bought the 3.99 no ads option but Everytime we close the app and reopen we still get ads. We hit the restore purchase button Everytime whic fixes the ads but we shouldnt have to hit the button every time we close the app.
We are writing this review specifically to try and let the devs know about an issue. Specifically, even though we purchased Ad Freeevery time we load up the app it forgets that we have ad free. We have to hit Restore Purchases every time or ads pop up. Im hoping this gets to someone to fix this problem since we do not see a bug report button anywhere. Anyway As for the actual app we absolutely love RetroMon! Ive had it for years and its everything we want in a V-Pet! The only tiny issue is the broken Ads Free mode.
The app is great. Ads if you want to use it for free, and a very reasonable one-time purchase of $4 to get rid of ads permanently and just have the app. We never had one of the original V-Pets, so we can't personally confirm that this works exactly the same, but we can say that all guides we've looked up for using those V-Pets have applied to RetroMon! A couple features we think would be cool (even though we know the V-Pets didn't have these): 1) Cancel Evolution. It's cool and all that the monsters turn into these awesome knights and warriors and what-not, but sometimes you just wanna keep taking care of a little monster 2) Shift sleep schedule. For some, this app can be a fun way to keep themselves on a responsible sleep schedule. But for others, their sleep schedule has to be different. We've been unable to use RetroMon for a while now because our schedule can't accommodate the monster's 10-8 sleep schedule. It would be cool if the monster's sleep schedule could be shifted over a little, so it's still 10 hours of sleep, but it sleeps and wakes up at different times to line up with whatever sleep schedule you may be stuck with. Other than that, love the app. Well worth the $4 to just have it.
This is how we remember these going except for the battles, but still love it. We bought ad free but we have to restore purchase every time we open the game to make the ads go away again :/.
Fantastic application. Perfect nostalgia and really fun to play. Some suggestions for future update: 1) Storage for raised pets? Im trying to collect all the final forms. Kind of a bummer we have to restart over and euthanize our current vpet. 2) Specific battle with friends? Its inconvenient having to coordinate synced entry into the lobbies vs sending your friend a challenge or something. We also cant find the barcode for local battle. 3) Battle music? Be cool to have background music in the lobby. We remember the traditional vpet had something when preparing to battle and when connected. Otherwise, Ive been enjoying this application and would suggest it to anyone looking for a digital version of the traditional vpets.
We love this V-pet app. We just wish there was an option to have colored sprites.
Ive been raising Digimon for 3 years now we own Digimon pendulum ver 20th and Digimon x this is an awesome simulation currently raising koromon to agumon black Though we do have a few suggestions can you make it so you can change the frame to other digivices like 02,tamers Digimon pendulum. Can you also pls make it so you can freeze your digimon like on Digimon x because some of us are still in school or stupidly busy on days.other than that great simulation to digivices. Sincerely gameplayer 22 up date now have guilmon black ,guilmon line one of our favorites same with Terrimon,veemon,armodillomon and of course patamon.
Love this app, brings be back to our childhood. Please Add Apple Watch Support! Make it a paid feature if you want but having this on our apple watch would be ultimate.
For starters,great app,nostalgia levels off the charts,but we do have a query is there a lucemon line? Ive checked poyomons egg and all we see is Patamon,Funbeemon,and Im not entirely sure what the third one is,by any chance is lucemon under a different egg group,or am we out of luck.
Apparently our sister said you have to pay to get Agumon or gabumon which is fine but we just wish you didnt have to pay to get Agumon or gabumon over all this is a genuine great game its really fun to battle people!!! (As in digimon battle in case you thought something else).
Great game so far, we just wish you could hide the possible evolutions until they are unlocked with hatching them.
We havent had this much fun with a mobile game in a while. Its just the right amount of care necessary without it feeling like its bugging you all the time. There are plenty of competitors and we love the amount of evolution lines. Great job admins and developers.
We picked this up after a nostalgia wave over Digimon hitthis definitely scratches that itch. However, after we decided to pay to have the ads removed and show our support for the game, they keep coming back and we keep having to hit restore purchases. Makes us worry what other bugs are in the app. Please fix.
Paid for no adds, each start up it will forget that and still show us adds then ask if we want to restore our purchase. Other than that, app works exactly as expected.
Great game so far really fun if your into it but the having to restore purchases to remove ads is a bummer please fix and Ill gladly give it 5 stars.
Some things they could do to improve the game is add more mons. Allow you to see monster names in the evolution line and evo requirements. Change the sleeping system to the D20 version maybe even training and combat as well. Allow us to put them to sleep etc. Add colosseum tag battles etc. Lot of QOL missing.
We have to restore purchases about four times a day.
The pet and the game itself is fine. Its a lot of nostalgic fun. Our issue is despite the fact that we paid for ad free access, Im still seeing ads and have to restore our purchase 1-2 times a day. Otherwise the game itself is great, just the right amount of neediness.
Im a tamagotchi fan and a digimon fan so we want both please.
Honestly the only notes we think could make this a pet app any more convenient and well put together would be widget support (especially live widgets with that coming in iOS17) and potentially an Apple watch app companion to really round out the portable experience. Update: ads keep coming back, we bought the in app purchase to turn off ads as we really like the app but ads will randomly show up over and over and we have to restore purchases multiple times a day.
First, we want to say that this game is pretty good. Our problem is that you get an ad after just about every action you take. Im sorry, but that is unacceptable to us. We would advise making pop up ads less frequent. Please update the app to check if the account owns the ad free micro transaction on startup. There is no reason we should have to restore purchases every time we open the app. We originally gave this app 4 stars because its good. We cannot justify that after our $4 purchase for no ads, and we still get ads because we have to remember to restore purchases every time.
This game is amazing we love that there is so many eggs to choose from and they all hatch into different kinds of monsters. We love that we dont have to get a little Digimon console for 20 dollars at Walmart but instead we cal just download this app and we dont have to worry about missing out on anything.
IM REALLY EXCITED TO START PLAYING IT, It would be great if it had Kudamons evolution line.
Game would be perfect if they just added an option to battle random mons offline instead of only being able to battle online.
This is def a good throwback, our only issue right now is that the online battle feature appears to be broken for the second day in a rowhoping they would fix this in a timely manner.
Pretty much spot on V-Pet, Ive enjoyed it in the past and keep coming back to it. They should totally add a Widget Option would be nice to see our little guy from our lock or Home Screen.
You do know that its a bootleg of digimon right.
Thank you for developing this virtual pet game. The care isnt distracting or overly complicated like some games are. Online works great for us too. We have two ideas that would make this game even better: first would be for a widget so users can see their pet and their status without having to open the app. Id pay for an feature like that! Second is a way to return to the online lobby after a b-power fight.
Itd be cool if there was an apple watch widget.
So we started to play this game and its really fun but when Im battling its not fun. When we battle people, it just dose it for us and nothing to do but just sit there and either win or lose. We would put this game at a 5 stars but if you change the battle mechanics then we will raise it to a five star.
It was fun, but something that should be added is a Lock Screen widget that has the monster just kind of randomly moving, or have an alert if it needs attention. Also pendulum shell case as an option would be great.
Would love for a nap mode, sometime life gets busy if you know what we mean, also, for battles, can we have different locations asides from the fields? Maybe random ones based on the backgrounds.
The only reason we think its four is because the 20th anniversary digivices have two digimon u can take care of at the same time so pls add two that u can take care of or just add a way to save the digimon u have and be able to switch them out.
Only thing that we think would make this better is widget and the ability to check in on supported watches.
We like how you can scan barcodes like M&MS or others but we wish that some barcode were fixed because it says no monster found.
Please add apple watch compatibility, Ive always wanted to have our watch mimic a tamagotchi. There used to be one, but the old tamagotchi app with apple watch compatibility got deleted sadly. We also wouldnt mind if everything could be played offline such as having ai battles. There is so much potential here.
Dont know what Im doing wrong its been stuck after one evo for two days did all training fed and kept happy the whole time :(.
We've been enjoying this quite a bit! Pretty much perfect. However, it won't open after the latest update.
It reminds us of the old digimon keychain pet we use to have as a kid! We just wish it would have had a slight twist like just added color to the mons but overall u nailed the exact old feel of the past tamagotchi like digimon game we just really wish it had color in them.
Absolutely love the game! Im big on vpets and specifically Digimon and this is awesome! Love the fact that we can even see care mistakes and that there are so many different options. One thing we do wish is that the game were able to better connect with friends and like a share feature since we have been getting our friends into the whole vpet thing so Im not the only one XD.
Like the game but we want to ask one question if you hatch a new Digimon egg Will our other Digimon be gone or we will have 2 Digimon at once.
