Great game but here are some suggestions. We've sunk so many hours into this game we just had to buy the full version. Here are some things we have noticed. 1. We absolutely cannot stand the pop ups when you walk over weapons/shields. When walking over a weapon/shield a pop up appears which shakes several times before a player can either press yes or no. This hurts our brain and takes too long. We recommend making these pop ups smoother rather than shake violently. 2. There should be a button that you press to interact with the weapon/shield once you walk over it. We hate having to repeatedly press no when we walk over a weapon/shield piece. 3. When you are frozen while standing on a weapon/shield the dreaded pop ups appear for every single turn until you are unfrozen. This means that we have to click through 5 pop ups for a weapon/armor piece before we can be unfrozen. Definitely a humiliating experience. 4. There should be a setting for adjusting walking speeds. We've noticed that when a floor level is completely cleared we can move faster than usual. This is nice! It speeds up the game but we wish we could do this when monsters are present too. 5. When we have a character buff of 90% face up cards + a weapon with 20% face up cards we will still get cards facing down. Is there a cap to the chance cards will be dealt facing up? If this is a feature of the game ignore this last suggestion. You guys made a great game that we love playing in our spare time. Keep up the hard work and stay safe!
___
Very fun game, very possible to play without ads. We ended up buying the game cause its totally worth it and its the perfect game for waiting in line, poop breaks, etc. Would buy again in a different universe.
___
Well worth the coin if you like blackjack and rogue style games. It could use more variety of drops, but the dev seems active so Im sure well see this happen.
___
Such a simple concept executed wonderfully! Easy to pass the time with, with very little effort on the players part in order to enjoy the game. We only played five minutes of it before we recommended it to friends who we knew would be interested.
___
We like blackjack, and we like Rogue-likes. This is a fantastic combination of the two. Very well done.
___
Really intriguing and good at keeping our adhd mind occupied.
___
Great pick up and play game. Now we love playing black jack again. We bought the app for 1.99 totally worth it. Developer please keep up the great work. A gem among a sea of crap on the AppStore.
___
Very fun, we consistently play it.
___
If you are looking for an enjoyable game that does not contain microteansactions or constantly shove ads at you, then RogueJack is for you. It is also hard to find games that are simplistic buts still requires some critical thinking. RogueJack succeeds there as well. After a couple hours of play we knew that this game was going to hold our interest for awhile. Well worth the $1.99. Thank you Devs.
___
Not a fake review, a pretty good time killer and super simple. Just picked it up. Its overall a good time.
___
Its simple and fun. Im a fan of Blackjack and dungeon crawler games so it was a perfect concept. (Also the controller option is interesting but welcome)
___
One of the best rogue like games we have played. Great job guys.
___
Pleasantly surprised. We love the battle system involving playing Black Jack which is our favorite game to play when we hit up Atlantic City. If you want a rougelike game with a unique twist. Buy this game now.
___
Fun, like the good ol days with little to no ads. We think many should buy just to support the devs making a great game.
___
There are a lot of different monsters to play against and they all have different playing styles. If you die in this game you can teleport to the room where you died and recollect your stuff. The music and art are really good. No ads during gameplay.
___
Pretty good game. Its definitely making us worse at real blackjack more than we already am.
___
We have a problem with gambling all our money away in GTA V online because blackjack is so much fun to us. This game is much more fast paced than regular blackjack and it introduces fun visuals and mechanics. Now we can finally have money in GTA.
___
We really like this game! The mechanics are easy to get and fun to play. The ads are optional and the ads free upgrade is worth supporting the developer. Great job!
___
Overall great dimple game. Negatives: If you arent familiar with blackjack. The game is not that intuitive. Takes a second. Also, class changes are forced on you.
___
We remember Nethack and Rogue from back in the day. This is very much like those.
___
Its a cute, fun little game. A great way to amuse yourself while waiting in line or tolerating the company of boring, tedious people that you cannot escape. If youre reading this then youll probably like it too, so pony up and pay for the add-free version. This stuff doesnt make itself and we presume it takes time and effort. If youre broke, fine. If youre not then please pay people who make games.
___
Really awesome concept, ads were perfect, completely optional. As you level up, its really cool to change your play style, and have access to different bonuses. Grade A game, highly recommended!
___
Following up to find that indeed the newest patch fixed the ending bug. This game is a blast and we cant wait to see what class is next. Two other little things we noticed that you may want to address. 1. Two items seem to have their texts reversed. The smart sword claims to be a shield that helps librarians and the knowledgeable shield (I think that is it) claims to be a sword that doubles xp. 2. We could have sworn the Lick King is supposed to win on a draw, but that doesnt seem to be the case. Hope it helps you along. Keep up the great work.
___
One of our favorite games on the App Store. Super addictive. We have pretty much nothing bad to say about it.
___
We really enjoy playing this game. We like the mechanics and we like the low level of ads of the free version, basically all voluntary watching. This is the perfect time killer, great little interlude filler. We bought the app despite having run through the levels forwards and backwards several times. We would have bought it even if we were no longer going to play. It is well worth supporting developers who dont try to milk the user through micro transactions. And it is just a solid, fun game.
___
We love how quick battles are and how it can be played with one hand easily. Easy to pick up and grasp, hard to put down!
___
Almost 5 stars. Love it. Bought it as soon as the first ad popped up. Please add an option to reduce motion. The bounce ui animation is really too much. Some of us get migraines from that type thing.
___
We've enjoyed this game a lot so that we have an idea the ability to shuffle with a shuffle token which would drop at a 10%-40% chance.
___
Good afternoon all, The game overall is pretty good. We enjoy the dungeon exploration and just having fun. However, we believe they need to work on the RNG (Random Number Generator) of the cards. If you have played blackjack in real life you know the cards are VERY random. In this game, all enemies get either a 20 or 21 except for a FEW occasions. We have also noticed that on SEVERAL battles that we will start with a total number of points of either 12, 13, or 14 and the three cards (Im a spaceman) that we can choose from are all 10 points are higher. This happens more than it does not. If this game would FIX the RNG then is would be well worth the money spent.
___
We've been having some good fun with this game - put a decent hour or two into it all together. However, when we went to play while waiting for a ride earlier today, no matter what we put our volume on, no sound or music would start. We uninstalled and reinstalled the game - losing our progress, but we don't care, haha - the issue persisted. Other apps work and we've tried playing with the in-game settings as well, but to no avail.
___
Fun game, we would just like a separate button that allows us to look at the characteristics of the monster. Depending on the position of the monster, if we try to click them, the cards are in the way and forces a hit.
___
We love the concept, simplicity, and aesthetic! Our one complaint is that we sometimes have trouble telling which deal is ours which can lead to mistakes. Super frustrating! Otherwise fantastic game :)
___
Only problems are that there are some misspellings in the game and that there is no way to access bestiary entries after they are unlocked(or we cant find it.)
___
We love the look and feel of the game the only thing we don't like it's how no matter how hard we try to avoid it we always end up getting "The Rogue" so we can see what the next card is. I'd prefer to be able to keep the next card a mystery. Is there any way to do this?
___
We enjoy blackjack. We enjoy nerdy things. Fun time waster here. 1. Add animations after each hand. Hero hitting/getting hit. Thats much more fun IMO. 2. For the love of god, you lose your weapon/shield when you die?! Oh a cool weapon! Aaaand Im dead. Sweet a shield aaand its gone. We suggest no more dropping weapons BS. And instead of shields that break, make it a % chance to block. Lets us keep our gear... Goodness. Edit. Taking our star back (now three stars). Im lvl 7 and you've made it so fn impossible to get 200xp as you lose all your xp upon death, then get half back but theres still not enough xp before the wall to lvl up... So youre just stuck in a loop. Youve made the game way too hard. No longer fun.
___
Update: controller? So uh, your app only works in portrait which means any controller like the razed kishi or game vice, which grips the phone in landscape orientation, simply won't work. So we were really excited to try this game, specifically to improve our actual blackjack skills, but the developer changes the rules too often, so standard blackjack strategy doesn't apply. Aside from the blackjack, this game is too shallow. You can't really do much else, and there isn't much reward for progressing further. No unlockables or upgrades. Just seems like there should be more to this game.
___
It seems like the odds are super stacked against the player after a certain point, with some enemies almost always landing a 20 or 21. This would be okay if we could level up to overcome the harder enemies, but we just die and lose the exp we earned, and then die again, and lose xp, and its like an impossible, time consuming loop from there.
___
The game is fun, but if you exit the application your progress is not saved. For a mobile game, we expect to have the ability to come and go as we please. We suppose this is fine for people who have large blocks of uninterrupted time. Otherwise youre probably better to pass on this as you will never make any progress.
___
Fun at first but quickly becomes a frustrating slog. Enemies become suspiciously skilled at hitting 20-21 in the later levels while your upgrades become less and less relevant. The games main issue is that there is almost no reward for winning hands, whereas Blackjack normally allows you to win your money back with luck. If you regained health with winning hands the game would be significantly more enjoyable.
___
This is pretty much exactly what it looks like. Unfortunately, it feels like there is very little player choice involved. This game sorely lacks a clear explanation of the deck mechanic. Im not sure if the deck is a full deck of 52 cards, or more decks, or fewer cards, or if the monsters and we share a deck. Theres a deck icon/stat for each monster, but its never explained. This makes it basically impossible to strategize outside of very basic high/low odds. The character progression is also on rails, each level giving a new perk such as increased hand size or increased odds of being dealt a face-up card, but we were hoping for some light RPG mechanics or deeper meta progression. Props to the devs for the very fair monetization, game just misses the mark for us.
___
Loved the idea but just like a casino it cheats like crazy. Fighting goblins is always a toss up if youll actually win. Doesnt matter how many times we pull a 20, goblin always ends up killing us.
___
This game was enjoyable until about floor 20/21 when all of a sudden statistics made no sense. Just strictly looking at the win and loss ratio, its nothing like it would be within normal deck of cards. When you add in how its supposed to be 60 to 80% chance of cards being dealt face up, those also go against statistics with it mainly showing face down. And if those struggles arent enough, you will constantly be poisoned, burned, and surrounded by monsters.
___
We bought the game to remove ads. Every time we die it asks us to buy it again to remove ads again. Something tells us this is a scam.
___
This game is not a roguelike/roguelite.
___
Been playing a couple months. The latest improvements made it way smoother!
___
