A Glimpse into RohuGammon – Classic Backgammon
RohuGammon is backgammon optimized for the small screen. The board is scaled to maximize playing area. Checkers are over-sized for easy access, and the number of checkers on a point is displayed.
Play against a friend, or against the computer. The computer has five separate AIs with different strategies. Some are aggressive attackers; others play defensively. You never know which strategy the computer is going to employ, so it’s nearly impossible to guess how the computer will play.
To speed the game, you can enable auto-roll and disable undo, creating a fast-paced game. Play multi-game matches where scoring a gammon or backgammon can earn you more points. When the outcome of the game seems inevitable, hit "auto pilot" and let the computer finish the game for you.

We have downloaded this to all our devices. So if we can’t play on one, we can play on another. This is our favorite game to, we played with our mother for years. We love it!
Cheating non random dice that rolls improbable amount of doubles Against you.
Great to pass the time with family members. The computer dice isn’t random. There is no double dice. No ads, just banner.
Clunky graphics. Poor randomization.
Update: After playing 500 games on the hard level, our win rate is 56%. This is compared to some other backgammon games where we typically win over 75% of our games. This game is a very good player. We’ve tried a bunch of iOS backgammon games, and we can usually beat the computer almost every time. With this app, we’re only winning a little over 50% of the games. Much more challenging. And you can’t "predict" the computer. It changes strategies with each game. The user interface is great on the iPhone. The men are large and easy to drag and drop. And the number of men at each position is displayed so you don’t have to count. And the fast-forward button allows you to speed up the end of the game.
No complaints. It’s never crashed, the ads are not intrusive, and it’s a good design. We only wished there was an expert level; I’d like more challenge when playing the computer.

Pretty good app that has never crashed, unfortunately the computer opponent is programmed to stiff the player on a regular basis. It gets what it needs when it needs it and you do not. It seems very biased and not at all playing on a one to one level. Deleted.
Too bad, since the last update it wins 95% of the opening roles, gets doubles twice what statistics would predict, while you get doubles half the time UNLESS you either you can’t use if because you are blocked, or it doesn’t matter. And 2/3 times if you leave 1 pip open EVEN IF IT TAKES A 5-6, the game will get it. Deleting.
The game works exactly as we wanted it to play. No need to read instructions.
We are not a backgammon wiz but this game makes it very easy to quickly get back up to speed when we have not played for a while. The different levels are ideal for starting easy and moving up and the highlight hints are extremely helpful. Once you get to the higher levels, the game is extremely challenging. We highly recommend this version.
We haven’t played backgammon in years, but this app made it easy to pick it up again. The single player mode is very challenging. And we like that it supports two players, just like a real backgammon board.

We love watching the game solve itself when we get stuck. No need to know the rules. The game makes it easy for novice players and challenging for experts.
Just played our first match on this app at the hard level and it was good. We thought it was challenging enough and didn’t feel like the dice rolls showed any favoritism. We don’t really care for the style of board or the style of moving but those are cosmetic As long as the competition is good and we don’t feel cheated against then it is a good product to us.
This ap stinks. Opponent gets more doubles than any possible game in real life.
