Player Experience Highlights

Community Insight:

We LOVE the game but there is a game on pc called total war Rome 2 and we want to know if you can make it on iPad too.

There should be more factions. There is only 4 factions you can play with. Adding the Greek faction would be mulch better.

Un juego hermoso, lo mejor que hay en la app store, ni clash of clans le llega a los talones.

Finally a good mobile rts game.

Its weird seeing a game we loved so much back when on the PC in the App Store. We have Alexander and Barbarian invasion and theyre exactly what we remembered, large scale strategic combat at its finest. We must say though, if youre an imperial campaign type, go for Rome or Barbarian. Absolutely love the games, what a perfect iPad app to have for long amounts of time like an airplane. 5 stars, you guys earned it. We must add one thing too, it would be nice if we could complete the set with Rome (have Barbarian Invasion and Alexander) at a discounted rate, as $17 is a lot to spend on 3 games when you dont know if the game mechanics will translate well to an iphone or iPad and like ourselves, we imagine people want to test the waters so to speak before investing in the 3 game pack. 5 stars, fantastic, love the games and would love to see more from the total war set on the App Store.

We love this game a lot. And we really like the replayability. But we and we think a lot of people would love to see other total wars.

This game is one of our favorite game on the App Store to this date except its cousin Rome Total War witch is another great game to check out.

Great job! This was a pleasure to play through. No kidding the only question we have it what total war title are you bringing to iPad next.

We love these games. We just would like to see more accurate touch sensitivity for tablet. Lastly please make more. More full games more add ones and mini games for both pc tablet and phone. The world needs to know about these games. Give everyone a little something to their taste. Thank you for all you work love your games.

We love this game but their is some things we dont like first of all if you make a fort you should be able to make it into a settlement and you only have 100 turns to destroy the Persian empire but we love this game and am always playing.

It maybe a design intention to have no access to India but why are the Persians there? It undermines what they may have tried to do or why have a settlement there at all? The units in the game are comically color coded and lack the realism and discipline of the historical armies. You can only play as Alexanders faction which does remove sone of the variety and fun that the option to play a variety of factions bring. Still not a bad game but then then lack of versatility does lower the replay value quite a bit. The intro and ending sequences were fun and educational that could have used a bit more of a sense of story or role playing during the mid of the game. Given the type of one shot one side game it is, more story and rp like elements would have helped it greatly. While the merc options were one of the highlights, some of the units were too generic or appearing in in places that made less sense.

We download all the collection ,it would be good if you can make another game or online game with the same detail with a big map.we play art of conquest, steel and flesh.we love raiding a castle with the other player make alliance,we hope you appreceit four star.

We think its mostly perfect. These games are our favorite type of game and feral is the best to port them for any platform. We realize porting the controls for a much smaller touch screen is a very difficult task. But thats the only issue with these games we have. Commanding the battles is just something we will not do. And we wish we could. We tried a few times and setting up our army in a defensive position that we wanted took almost half and hour. Its so very ineffective and broken. Selecting a group of spearmen. And trying to stretch them out to form a line then adding a line behind them them flank protecting spears to the side to protect archers behind. Setting a formation like this was insanely difficult. With the unit never stretching where we wanted. To the rank and file we wanted. Always running out of screen to drag when trying to form lines. And just as we started to get it right. We didnt realize we had some other unit elected all the perfect set up we achieved was lost in one go. Gave up so many times. Lost progress and redone our campaign to lose a battle on auto resolve we know we could win. If we could set our own defense. Tried many times to get used to it and we cant. On the mac ports. We ALWAYS fight our own battles. Its the best part of the game. This is an ambitious port for an ipad. And we still love and play it. We hope to see these controls refined and improved. Other wise. Thanks for making ipad gaming interesting again. This series is our most played game on the ipads. Despite the flaws.

We really love Total War games and we've been so excited that first Rome and now Alexander are available on iOS. However this one, Alexander, is really buggy. We don't remember Rome iOS being as buggy as this play through of Alexander was for us. Hopefully they keep ironing out the bugs. Edit: we just replayed the campaign after the last update and many of the bugs have been fixed. We still saw a few bugs, such as one involving being unable to deselect a city on the world map that happened on both play throughs occasionally, however performance has really improved. We'll raise our review from 3 to 4 stars.

Two things. This really needed to let players play both sides( big let down). Also no one ever makes a version of ruling the Roman Empire at its peek?? All we ever see build it or fight for it. We think your version Would be perfect. We would love your version to come out with a time set at the beginning of the Emperor Trajans Rule or right after his death. Im nearly 50 years old and we wanted a game like this since we were a kid . And maybe have some premade battle plans for some of us that like battles but maybe not so much thrown on you. James Cody.

It seems that our troops dont respect us:) they dont carry out orders, especially if the order are directed to more than tow units. But a great game despite these problems.

Can anyone help us on how to upload the lord of the rings mod for Ipad.

Once we bought this game we downloaded it, but the game wouldn't download, it said that we couldn't download it right now or the iPad didn't have enough space. We have enough space for the game but it still wouldn't download. Edit:we have enough space.

We have purchased the package which includes Total war: Rome and Barbarian invasion and this Alexsander. Since Im a huge fan of this game, we still play with our computer from time to time. Totalwar:Rome was fine when we play in our ipad pro 2018 however, the screen did not optimized in Barbarian Invasion and Alexander one.. We expected all of them have the same optimization but .. This is a big disappointment.

We cant play this if we invest hours and then mid battle the game freezes and loses our progress, really annoying cus we love the game but this makes us hate it.

Short: skip this and just play the PC version. The iPad controls are simply horrible! Instead of mouse, shift, left and right buttons, youd have to tap a gazillion times more to get things done. Horrible UX!!! There were lots of times where the troops were just misguided or require too many taps just to do something that could be done in less than a second on the PC. Save yourself and dont get this. What a waste of money.

The difficulty of control just makes this a rotten game. We are a huge Medieval 2 fan, but these games are just not made to be on a iPad. Fingers vs a mouse is incomparable. Maybe if we practiced it, we'd get it… But who wants to practice how to control a game you already know how to play? Maybe the worst money we've spent.

We can't believe it bc we wasted our money for game that can't even download.

Hello creators we have loved your games on the iPad and have had no issue till now. We have bought the new Rome total war Alexander. But when we try to download it. It won't download and keeps saying retry or done? Please all we wanted was to play your new and impressive game. SOS Like you said we've about tried everything restarting our device and installing it. We also tried disconnecting from our internet but that didn't work at all. Is their anything else we can try.

Total War company we want to know if you will continue mobile total wars or will you stop Another of you continue we really hope you make Medival 2 and then later make another game for the third age mod alone Please please respond and tell us the community the intended future of the game Thank you.

Another great installment please continue.

Won't even work. Wish we could give negative stars.

Developers did an amazing job turning this into an iPad game. The controls work and everything else feels like the same great game that we played on PC! Hopefully shogun 2 or medieval 2 next.

Keep sending out Total War games on app and we will keep buying them!! Port all of them.

Wait to long. But happy it's here.

The game is great the only thing is could add Naval battles.

Great game but limited factions please add more factions through updates.

So we saw another review for the same problem on an iPad mini 2 and the devs told reviewer to contact their support. We were going just do that instead of review but the process was too much hassle. So we're giving 5 stars because the base game is awesome and we're just scratching at the Barbarian expansion but the Alexander expansion restarts our iPad Air 1st gen 1st batch upon release running whatever the latest iOS is. Base game is up to date so is Barbarian expansion. But yah other than that these games are freaking awesome. Keep up the good work guys.

Those comments saying: "Controls are bad" or "we thought you could play as other colonies" are fake, controls are the same and actually smooth for a just released game. If we're correct, Syria and the other "colonies" were controlled by the Persian empire at that time, so people stop being so ignorant. We're a huge fan of Macedonia and history (Specially about the bronze age collapse) and we find this game very good, just need to polish some very little bugs that will not affect your experience at all. Feral, keep up the amazing job, btw, we would love to see TW: Napoleon or Empire, please we beg you for that, but anyways, great game! Suggestions: Make naval battles watchable, you don't control the ships but you see them. In the battles around the countryside, you should make more farms or mines or even show abundance of the resource for trading in the zone. Make a way to play as the Persian empire, where you start in Babylonia and expand your empire please. Adding an extra Indian campaign would be awesome, where you regardless of your faction invade india and get challenged by them throughout the country. Maybe add Elephants for the Macedonians when you control India and Egypt. Maybe you could overlap time a little bit, and make it possible to challenge the Roman empire and the Byzantine or Holy Roman empire, maybe even invade the Kievan Rus'. Like we said, not historically accurate but AWESOME. Also, make the zones you have conquered watchable, because even though you own them, there is fog and rebels appear out of nowhere. Make more buildings for the troops in the wildlands. Zoom in to your cities and see them, and make a preset of the organization in an invasion. We would also like it if you added tornadoes and maybe less revolts. But overall, best game ever, keep up the goodwork, also… Make Napoleon or Empire for iPad, thanks.

Ever since we were younger, we have been a huge fan of the Total War series. Since Feral's announcement of the Rome Total War series, we have been very excited and play these games often on our iPad Mini 2 and 4. Works great on both.

The third IOS port from feral interactive and it's very solid. Must buy.

We have not actually been able to play this game yet on our iPad Air 1, but we know that it is a fantastic game and we have never had any problem with the iPad controls for the other Total War games. We have not been able to play because whenever we try to open the app it restarts our iPad. We give this two stars instead of one because we know that the developers have a team of great people who we are sure will correct this issue as soon as they can.

With the current iOS the game won't start. It loads up the logo then crashes.

This game crashes each time we attempt to launch it. Hasn't started even once on iPad Air 2. Poor development. Don't waste a penny on this crap just to have it crash on you too.

We are disappointed with the total war creators cause this is there worst one yet. There are only 4 civilizations.

We can't even open the game because it keeps on crashing.

This is totally a trash game that could hurt your device. Everytime we try to run the game, it reboots our Ipad ( mini 4) . We tried to contact them 3 days ago for help but we haven't received their response yet.

Anytime we zoom in the game crashes… Latest iPad Pro so it's not the machine, it's the app… 5 buck is 5 bucks, fix this.

App not only crashes on launch but restarts entire iPad. We've been playing iPad games for years but this is a first. Who releases a game before it's capable of launching without a catastrophic crash? Disgraceful.

Sad face can't even start the game.

Only one faction and only get 100 turns in campaign.

Noticed other people having problems with not being able to start the game without it crashing immediately. We had that at first but was at least able to fix it by reinstalling. However we have since had it crash multiple times while in the game itself. Running an up to date IPad Pro so Hardware should be no issue. Please fix your game guys.

thought you could campaign with cool factions like greece, persia, and Inda, but no. We think the game is cool, especially the elephants, but not worth $4.99, and definately not s good s barbarian invasion.

Every time we try and launch this game our iPad reboots. Every single time. Please fix this! We paid 5.00 for this game to work. Not to crash our iPad.

Every time we try to open this app it crashes our entire IPad Air 2. Broken.
