Community Insight:
Ive owned this game for years and still play it daily. Thanks for always keeping it updated. Always fun.
Prior review: we LOVE THIS GAME. 5 stars, but annoying problem with latest upgrade!! FYI this was fixed shortly after posting this review. Moving tiles from top and bottom rows of game and stored tiles area, now too often causes Notifications panel to slide up/down. Its annoying and hard to get around. Please fix.
We love this game but gave it four stars instead of five because we wish it had the option of not using wild cards. We also have the computer version that includes that option, so prefer playing on our computer. Any chance that option could be added.
We love this game and this app is great!! Our one suggestion is to add the ability to have the app automatically sort the the players tiles. We have the paid android version as well and it has this option.
Version 2.9.8 introduced a new graphical issue on iPhone XS Max – all the tiles are oversized now. But at least the game still works. Its one of our all-time favorites.
Love this game. Works wonderfully. Thanks for keeping it updated.
Thank you so much for making an update to stop the vibrating and the clicking noises!!! This is definitely a five star rated game!! Totally awesome.
Help! We love this game but the app will not close anymore..not sure if its the latest OS or iPhone X. Even workaround force close methods dont work on the iPhone X.
We upgraded from an older version, and now the riles are still small but spaced from each other, so it seems like that was the way to enlarge the design for bigger screens, instead of really making it look good and comfortable. Please adapt the design to the screen, thanks.
Perfect game when you're waiting at the doctor's or where ever & don't want to read the old magazines. Glad for the update for the current iOS.
Fun gameplay, but intensely frustrating. Tiles don't move well, and controls (buttons) are hard to use easily (jumbled together and not clear in their iconography). Also, it's odd how we have NEVER drawn a wild. The computer ALWAYS plays them in its final play… Amazing odds on that happening.
We second what others have said. Ours quits in the middle and takes us back a few games. Scoring doesn't make sense. We have to tap the deal button several times for it to respond, probably due to the # of cards left refreshing (we're used to the old speed). The color scheme seems a bit blander, although we're still on a iPhone 3GS, so it might be that. Otherwise, still extremely addicted :).
We've played this game for a few years but the last update changed the scoring and it doesn't make sense to us anymore. The screen with table of scores is in portrait orientation while the game is in landscape orientation, forcing you to turn the phone if you want to read it. We find it an annoying screen since there really isn't any useful information. And then you get a dialog box that asks you to continue or start new game, which is unnecessary since if you select continue, absolutely nothing happens since the game is over. Definitely a disappointment from the precious method of scoring, which made more sense. Otherwise, the game is great.
We've been Playing this developer's Romi game on our Mac for years. We play it every day, and never get tired of it. We're so glad to find it for the iPhone. We were worried that the tiles would be too small, but we've played several games now with no problem — and we have large fingers for a female. Someone mentioned that the tiles could not be moved once placed, but we have not had that problem, so maybe it's been fixed. Someone else mentioned that you cannot see the computer's left-over tiles when the game ends. You can. On the computer version, you would click the hour glass to see what's left. On the iPhone version, click on the little computer icon and you'll see them. We love having a variety of backgrounds to choose from. Thank you, Gerard, for bringing our favorite 'little' game to our phone so we can take it with us everywhere. :-).
If your getting this app from the app store, get the iPhone version because it'll save you a dollar If your getting this for your iPhone and you have large fingers then we don't recommend wasting the money It is surprising when you lose because you don't get to see how many tiles the opponent has Hope you don't waste your money.
1st – most recent update broke the game on our 2G iPod Touch – the tiles move in the opposite direction that you drag them on the board, making the game unplayable. 2nd – although this game is very addictive, the AI needs improving – we have found the key to beating it almost every time. UPDATE – latest version still does not work on 2G iPod Touch w/ latest iOS. Going to try and get a refund as this point has been made by several reviewers over several versions and it is still not fixed.
Like the other poster said… Once the tiles are on the board its difficult to move them. Please check into this and fix….. LOVE THE GAME!! 5 stars before the update.
After the last update, once the tiles are on the table, you are unable to move them to a different part of the table. Please fix !!!!!! Other than that we love this game.
It wasn't broke why did you have to fix it? How about putting previous version back up.
Romi is just like Runnikub that we used to play with tiles. It is much better and more addictive as we can play against one, two or three VERY smart opponents. The interface is clean and very intuitive and much more fun than card games – we have it both on our iPad and iPhone and find it a wonderful diversion. We have had some questions for the developer and he has been VERY responsive. Jim.
Won't let you move the pieces. It will give you an error.
Everything is far to small to touch and read. Unless you are a hawk it is a total wast of time.
This is a good game and we would buy it again even knowing what is below. There are flaws that would help to be aware of: 1. The instructions are not good even when you go to the website. In fairness there is an option for several languages so it just might be too much to write understandable instructions for all. You can help yourself figure out what Romi (the iPod/Phone) does by pressing the ? To see its moves because they happen VERY quickly. Once you understand the game it is enjoyable. 2. We never won when on the Beginner level, but did win the first time we tried Expert. Perhaps we got better or they have mislabeled the levels. Try them all to see which works for you. 3. The tiles are sometimes hard to move. There are also times when you make a legitimate move that gets beeped for being illegal. If you are sure your move is correct sweep the board and try again. This can be annoying and should be fixed. 4. There are wild cards that no where (until we saw Romi do it) did we realize you can replace and use again. Hopefully an upgrade will fix some if not all of these problems.
We are so happy we bought this! It is a super fun game that holds our attention for hours. Wasn't sure after reading reviews but we are so happy we bought it. Fun to play the computer after different skill levels and the app was really well.
Once you figure out how to play it (which takes awhile) it isn't half bad all the other rumicube games we downloaded completely sucked compared to this at first we thought this would too but if you figure out how to play it's actually kinda fun they need to add directions tho then we'd give it a 31/2 rating.
We wish it was easier to use we thought games were supposed to be fun and you can't even use the beginner mode because it doesn't fit on the screen.
This is a terrible rummy app. The tiles are too small, there is no way to zoom in on anything. This makes it difficult to move the tiles the way you want and results in the wrong tiles being moved. We haven't even been able to complete a game because we're so frustrated. Is there anyway to return the app and get our money back.
