It’s rated 9+ and currently has 363+ ratings on the App Store.

What Makes rymdkapsel Stand Out

rymdkapsel is a meditative strategy game set in space. Take on the challenge of building the best possible station by commanding your minions and exploring the galaxy around you.

Imagine a strategy game where you don't have to worry about selecting units or mounting attacks on your enemies, but rather can focus on building the best base possible.

That's what rymdkapsel is all about.

"Rymdkapsel feels tailor-made for iOS in both form and function, and its elegant, subtle constituent parts nest within one another as neatly as its four-block tetrominos snap together along a space station corridor."

  • 5/5 stars, Joseph Leray, toucharcade.com

"Some games nearly make me miss my subway stop. Some games tempt me to keep on playing them while I'm walking down the street. This is one of them."

  • Stephen Totilo, kotaku.com

"The game punishes the greedy, and rewards the prudent. If you’re attentive, you’ll notice that there’s actually a happy medium between the two: optimal efficiency."

  • Ryan Rigney, wired.co.uk

"Rymdkapsel combines spatial puzzling, tower defence and base-building into a brilliantly coherent and stylish whole."

  • Christian Donlan, eurogamer.net

This Puzzle game offers engaging gameplay and regular updates for mobile players.

Community Insight:

Rymdkapsel turns simplicity into something elaborate and engaging better than all of the other App Store games. Its very enjoyable to build up your temporary structure and extremely satisfying watching the workers shoot at enemies. We like the wave format of the game a lot. The waves of enemies show up in intervals like waves on a lake. Its easy to use the controls and they make you appreciate having a touch screen to play Rymdkapsel.

It takes a lot of creativity and smarts to create a unique take on RTS that also works super well. Loved it.

We haven't played a mobile game this much ever. We're dying for anything new. Please devs. Game modes. Updates. A sequel! Don't quit on this frustratingly wonderful game.

We love this game! Very easy to play, clear instruction through tutorial. This game is all about strategy, and that is great. But we love zen mode. We could play that for hours! The only reason Im giving 4 stars and not 5, is because there are a limited number of particle fields and monoliths. To prolong game play, we suggest more missions and adding additional monoliths and particle fieldsespecially in zen mode for those of us who just want to lose ourselves in game play.

The game provides insufficient control over the allocation of resources. Worse, the algorithms that mange this do so inefficiently, even waste fully. Imagine playing chess where some outside agency periodically throws crucial pieces away, or randomly prevents winning moves. This is a strategy game which makes implementing the best strategy impossible. Disappointing.

Rymdkapsel has a unique and interesting concept, blending base-building with real-time strategy in a minimalist style. However, the game can be confusing at times, with little guidance on how to optimize your base or manage resources effectively. One of the biggest frustrations is the occasional bugs that can force you to restart, especially when key mechanics dont work as expected. Its disappointing because the game has a lot of potential, but the lack of clarity and technical issues make it more frustrating than fun. With some fixes and better explanations, it could be greatbut as it stands, its hard to fully enjoy.

Great game, we even had this on our vita when they still supported PlayStation mobile.

Please update zen level to have limitless extractor fields.

The soundtrack is one of the best parts. Put the soundtrack on iTunes, we will buy it. We let the game run on our iPad at night and fall asleep to it. Awesome. No iCloud backup? Hmmmm. Many complaints buy iPhone 11 users. Game ends far to quickly as the waves of enemies come far to quickly after about wave 20. It destroys the zen like nature of the game. Waves need to scale much more slowly. After about wave 28 the waves are continuous and you are left just watching all play out. Your minions just fight and make new minions until you are overwhelmed. The minion AI could use an upgrade. They needlessly pick up materials that are not needed. Run past weapons stations right next to them only to run to ones clear across the map. All in all a decent game with great potential. Hopefully the developer will listen.

This game has always had some AI issues, but the last (4.01) bug fix release added lots of new bugs! We really hope the developer will take an interest in the game again, because it really is awesome. Just not right now.

Probably the best RTS on mobile. Thank you for the update.

Game is fun but becomes unplayable after wave 20 where you are attacked constantly. You have no time to do construction or to make food.

Cant play the game on iPhone 11 because trying to make rooms always opens the drop down tab, game is unplayable as it is.

The game is currently unplayable with the play down menu.

This is a great game that Ive had a lot of fun with over the years. The UI is extremely frustrating on iPhone X as it overlaps the home swipe up gesture. We would love it if you could refresh the UI to solve this issue.

We admit this sort of game isnt for everyone. Its a bit like a rogue-like. You die a lot as you learn. But every time we lost, we were thinking of new strategies to try to survive a bit longer next time. If you think you might like it, we bet you will.

Having to drag and drop rooms and corridors from the top of the screen forces the IPhone Notification Center to open which truly ruins the RTS aspect of the game. A way around may be a long press to bring up a pop up in the middle of your screen that says yes or no then it places the shape on the field.

Its almost unplayable on iPhone X. The bottom apple bar needs to be disabled or the bottom row of worker placement locations need to shifted up a little. Every time we try to move people to a new job it swipes to a new app. Or closes the game. Everything else is great. We wish there were more game modes too. Maybe a new turret block which assists the workers in defending. The workers would fill the turret block with 3 turrets using engineering materials.

Home bar on iPhone screen prohibits play. This is/was one of our favorite games to play through again and again but it is rendered unplayable by home bar.

Alas! It seems we discovered this game a few years too late. We wish the App Store would alert you when an app hasnt been updated in a while. Such optimism, such promise. Alas! This game is beautiful and fun. Wish it would work on our darn phone, but essential controls are outside the playable space (namely, the main people instructions are in the part of the screen that causes us to quit the game and we cant even figure out how to start again after dying).

This game is so fun and we could get very addicted to it but the white home bar on iPhone X is in the way of the worker job manager and so every time we try to change a workers job it thinks we are trying to close the app or switch apps and it gets very frustrating.

One of our favorite games, got to wave 37 on our old phone. But we got a new phone and now its unplayable because whenever we try to move our minions to another job it closes our app or switches to another app. Please update the game to find a way to fix this.

Maybe our favorite ios strategy game ever, but after updating to ios 11.2.2 mostly unplayable. Apple must have increased the hit area for dragging down from the top of the screen and now we trigger notifications whenever we try to place a tile.

We love this game, its one of our go to games when Im looking for a focused past time. However, with this new update we are having serious problems. The font and all the buttons is much smaller, which is nice for game play, however, because the font is so small, when we go to drag down a new room or corridor, every time, we pull the notification screen on our iPhone. Every time. Which pretty much renders the game unplayable for us. Ive tried to turn off the setting in our iPhone and Ive tried to adjust the way we drag down corridors to no avail. This is the first update in 2 years, so Im not sure our review will make much difference since maybe there arent many players anymore, but hopefully something can be done about this. Thanks.

The commands at the bottom of the screen are near impossible to use without minimizing or changing apps.

Play through in 1.5hrs. Done. No replay variation at all. Not worth the money.

The game relies on the controls at the edge of the screen, where the swiping action for the iPhone X is located, and you literally cannot play the game on any new iPhone. Seems like it would be a fun game though.

Game is awesome, but literally unplayable on an iPhone. The user interface buttons ALL involve swiping around on the top and bottom edges of the screen. So its EXTREMELY difficult to use most of the controls, since everything you do either opens the system notification tray, or activates the app switcher. If the developer had put the controls on the sides, all this would be moot. But top and bottom simply make the game unplayable. Maybe it works differently on iPad or something. We dunno. Just not on a phone.

This app uses the swiping from the top and bottom as controls which triggers the command center and app changes, making the game unplayable.

Does not work for iPhone 11 Pro Max the home slider is in the way.

We stopped playing this and picked it back up and remembered why we left it. Deeply unsatisfying gameplay where you LOSE no matter what.

The bottom bar is just too fiddly, so hard to smoothly direct minions. Please, please, please fix it.

This was such a fun game. One star because its impossible to play with the way app switching works now.

When playing on new iOS, it is impossible to switch tasks of minions without clicking on virtual home screen. Game is unplayable without a simple fix.

We cant pass the tutorial because every time we try to drag anything from the top of the screen to build our base, the iOS notification thing comes down! Waste of money, dont buy.

Concept of game is good. First level is easy for learning. But 2nd level exposes many flaws in game programming and makes game play pointless. Not worth the money.

The minions don't automatically go to the closest room, they select rooms such that all are filled in the shortest time.

This is a fun game. We finally made it through the research all monoliths level. The order you research the monoliths makes a huge difference in your success/level of frustration. 1. Research the monolith at 12 oclock (minion speed) first, then the one at 6 oclock (slow enemies), then the monolith at 3 oclock (weapons range) and finally the 9 oclock monolith (extractor efficiency). 2. You will only need one reactor. Periodically station a minion if the production rate is too slow for construction. 3. You will only need two gardens and two kitchens. Locate them centrally and with their doors close together. Build quarters near the kitchen. 4. Build weapons stations centrally (near your gardens-kitchen-quarters. Build one or two weapons near the monolith you are currently researching. 5. Recycle empty extractors. Recycle unneeded weapons near fully researched monoliths.

We bought this game yesterday and it is very fun to play! A lot of freedom to do things the way the user would like, but yet refreshingly simple. Great game! There are a few things we would like to point out though. The workers are not very efficient. They waste a lot of time carrying two resources for a building that may only need 1. So when one resource is delivered, the second worker instantly stops and his resource disappears because the specific building he was carrying it for has been completed. Even though there may be other buildings that could use the block. The workers seem to be in their own world trying to complete their task, without any communication with the other workers. Which isn't very good when trying to get things done quickly. The efficiency of the workers could be much better! The play area/map is rather small. It doesn't take long to fill it up, so then there's nothing else to do. It would also be great if we could choose what kind of blocks to place, instead of it being random in zen mode. We think it's part of the challenge in normal mode, but zen mode shouldn't be challenging, just fun! The purple or pink resource fields run out too quickly! They seem to run out rather quickly, and there is no way to replenish them. If they had a bit more in them, and if there was a way to replenish them, that would be great! That leads us into our last comment. The game gets very tedious quickly. Mostly due to the fact that there isn't many things to do long term. Not to mention the resource fields deplete quickly, with no no way to replenish them as we mentioned above. Very fun to play, just not for very long. This is a great game and we're happy with our purchase! We just wanted to give you our input and honest opinion! Best wishes.

We still love this game. It takes getting used to but there is a rhythm to it and getting to the artifacts and defense. Once you have all of the mechanics down, it is just a matter of obtaining the goals and survival.

It took us a little while to gain experience and a bit of patience was needed. We play all the building and crafting games out there like Minecraft, Don't starve, TerrariaI was unsure about this one in the beginning because the style looks almost too basic, but that's actually where everything changes once you get in deeper. Once you get the hang of it it's quite brilliant and we have yet to get to the end but it is immersive enough to stay on the journey. A game that you'll always go back to.

We have some good games on our phone, but this is the best. The Ai around minions and weapons rooms may be a little weird, but by building the amount of defenses as you have minions. Zen mode is great. There is one problem we've had. After researching a monolith, it will show what the monolith did and then the game will freeze. This does not happen all the time though.

Come with one more update guys !! Cool game nice strategy.

The idea of a meditative tower defense/simulation game seems like a contradiction in terms, but this game pulls it off. It's all of what we like about tower defense but none of what we don't like.

This unusual and engaging strategy slash tower defense game is outstanding. It's not unbeatable. It's hard especially after wave 20 but we've only player end 3 times so far and have gotten to wave 28. We didn't win wave 28, but we got there and with relatively little in game experience. It's al about planning and careful resource management with being aware of strategic defense points. Build without a plan or strategy and yeah, you'll end up with an indefensible mess. That's not an unbeatable game, that unskilled or impatient players. This game is a true 5 star marvel.

We love how this games does so much with so little. No fancy graphics just great game dynamics and overall put together very nicely. The minion AI IS irritating, but we were able to get all the achievements in normal mode. Going to move on to 'Plus' mode and try that.

Incredible in its diversity. We're a huge tower defense gamer and this is, by far, the best one on the market. The expanded mode in the last update adds even more to this beautiful masterpiece.

We love the game's state of drowsy terror, its simple and novel interface, and the basic premise.

We love this game it has a bunch of strategy and decions we really have fun playing it.

A brilliant, minimalist strategy game. For those saying it's impossible after level 12-16: you're just not very good at it. We've hit level 32, it just takes thought and planning. The pace, progression, and flow of the game are spot on. Even the much maligned AI is fine once you figure out how it makes its decisions (go for the most in-need resource, via the shortest path. On weapon runs, fill to the nearest – in the order of orders given,) it's predictable and something you can plan around. Oh, and for the people saying you just have to leave minions in the weapons rooms at higher levels: design your bases better. There's plenty of safe work for minons to do in a well-surrounded core. Even better, it's work without a timer – free labor. The only this we're really craving is more scenarios and challenges. We loved the changes in strategy the plus towers had, and could go for a few more of those.
