Ive been playing Sallys Spa off and on since we first got our iPod touch as a kid. Our older sister introduced us to the game and Ive always loved it. Its a simple concept and so much fun. Definitely a cozy game.
Great game, its fun to play whenever but it gets boring a little early.
We love Sallys Spa. However we will be deleting it as of today because we woke up today and the in-app purchases we have made to buy employees and even the employees Ive earned with game money are GONE .. That's a major red flag as far as games go, its being advertised as permanent and we feel like our money has been taken from us . Who do we contact for a refund.
We enjoy this version of the game vs the last version. It wasnt enough rounds and we beat the game entirely to fast. Now its more challenging which we truly appreciate! Just like most games but unlike the last version of this game itself you didnt have to pay real funds for it but now you do to get rid of the ADS which is why we gave a 4 star on top of having to pay for the assistants which we are itching to pay for because 1. Its cool having them around even though their NPCs lol 2. It helps a lot to run up your tips/money for upgrades and have 5 stars from all customers in the game which is our goal and not just beating the whole game so right now the test is to see how far can we get without the assistants because their help may help us beat the game too fast.
This game is a money gimmick. It does not rely on skill to beat the levels it comes down to upgrades and spending real dollars to upgrade and you still have to pay a lot to upgrade everything. No matter how hard you try you will not beat it without spending money . We have played other Sally games that were fun but this one is not 10 for graphics though.
The good itself is pretty good, but if you want to hire staff, it costs real money, there is no way to earn them. And you need stars to upgrade things but if you fly back to another spa to get the expert stars, you have to wait 8 hours to get there for free or spend coins.
Like many others here, this was one of our favorites as a kid. We have the money to spare so we have spent it on the assistants as well as the free flights. We STILL CANT WIN. And before anyone says its a matter of skill, we have tried numerous times but it seems unfair to us that after a loss you gain nothing (no coins) but you still lose any candles or tea you used, so your only chances to continue are to go back to old levels to farm some coins we dont think its fair that if we lose theres no progressive way forward in the game to gain back the resources we used. Also why are the customers so angry? Im so tired of them starting out angry in the first place it seems unrealistic that people would be ANGRY going INTO a spa so tired of them walking out on us as Im getting to them its so frustrating. Update: requesting a refund because even if you pay to play you dont win because of the poor resource system in the game.
We really do like this game! But the 2 things we REALLY hat is that we have to pay for version things with actual money like extra time? Seriously? And then not only that when we saw that we could get workers we were happy and it said we had to get to a carts in level to unlock them and then when we finally get to the level we find out we have to PAY to get workers why cant we just get a certain amount of coins to get workers but it annoyed us because getting the level so quick just to have to pay to get the worker was just completely useless! We really think the game should change that up because it annoyed us and plus its just useless.
The game is good but they keep giving tips while your playing and it messes up the game and we dont know how to fix it and we tried contacting someone but nothing.
We once got all of the customers on a level and had them all at 5 hearts and still didnt pass the level so it can suggest you use money to buy upgrades.
We don't think the tip pop up bubbles are all that bad but they are unnecessary to those who know how to play the game and there is no way to turn them off. We've searched through the settings, we've sat through the actual tutorial slide show and yet the pop ups are still here. Fully stopping our game because we're not playing it how the game believes itself should be played is very annoying- if we don't want to start our day our brewing coffee we shouldn't have to. Not to mention the fact that we're not allowed to go to other countries if we're not passing a certain level, so we just have to play the same level over and over again. There should also be more opportunities to make / receive money. Day 4 we're supposed to make $2900 and day 5 we're supposed to make $3400 but all of the customers have 1-2 hearts upon entry and we don't make money off lost levels so we can't get any further until we wait for the daily chest reset. The game is fun when it is, but for the most part it's becoming very annoying to play.
Id bought all of the employees on this game but after taking a break from it, all the employees have been removed from the game and Id have to buy them again. Im not wasting more time and money into this game when it not holding our progress or purchases. Also not to mention that once you get past a good amount of levels, the game gets super hard and impossible to pass unless you pay money. Dont buy it and waste your time.
Although we enjoyed our time playing this game it costs too much to move forward. Not worth paying for.
We five-starred every single customer on a level, with all but two of them buying products, and still came up $100 short of the level goal. Notably, we dont even have enough money to buy tea or candles so we can make another go of it because the game is bleeding our funds dry by constantly sending us around the world with ticket prices that drain any money we made. Theyll send you to one place for ONE LEVEL and then force you to travel again, either waiting 8 hours or paying all the money you just made on the one level. Transparently meant to screw over players who wont pay for their absurdly priced in game currency.
Fun game but cant really enjoy it considering they eventually make it impossible to beat unless you put money into the app.
We love this game Ive been playing it for almost a year now it keeps us on our toes with it being so fast paced, BUT Ive gotten pretty far in the game and its very unfair how you can not pass the level Im on now unless you buy almost the whole salon with real money. Like Ive already spent almost $80 in total in this game buying coins so we can upgrade the furniture. The levels should be passable without having to continue to pay for everything considering Ive spent a nice amount already. Idk if they dont change that Ill probably end up deleting it. It was fun at first now its just obvious they want your money. We stopped getting on the game frequently (probably 2-3 times a month now, compared to almost everyday at first) and just playing the same level over and over again trying different ways to win and its impossible.

Ive loved this game since it was on an old Nintendo handheld that we cant even remember the device name. We beat the game and got bored but would reloaded it when we got an iPhone. This updated version is more challenging, but wayyyyy to extreme. We cannot afford to keep playing.
This game is one of the all time classics. We are enjoying it as much as we did a decade ago. However, you cannot tell us it makes sense to charge $5 for an assistant that used to be eligible with coins you earned by playing. After some point, the gameplay passes the time-management skill and turns into will we be able to advance without making any in-app purchases.
This game used to be awesome but now it requires you to watch an ad to do anything. They make it impossible to get to certain levels without paying more. Really disappointing. We understand ads may be needed but you should still be able to actually play the game once you watch the ad.
So dont get us wrong this game is fun and addicting. But the things we HATE about this game is you have to move cities but it always costs so much money, and its annoying how you have to go back and forth to each cities. Like it doesnt give you a choice. And you either have to use coins or wait 8 HOURS!!! If you dont have the coins you have to wait the time. You dont have a choice. You cant even replay levels to make up the money because after you play it once it only gives you like 15 coins. Like really?? Because they want you to use your real money to buy more coins. This game is fun but the way its programmed is really stupid. We hope you change your game.
We have been playing this game, since it was only available on desktop. It's a fun game, but the recent update is an inconvenience. There should be a way to turn off the "tips". They disrupt our whole gameplay and remove our check marks.

When we first played this game years ago we didnt have to pay for extra staff. Now you got to pay for extra everything and the up grades are expensive. Just a thought.
We download this game every couple of years. We noticed now you have to buy attendants. Instead of just earning them with money that you earn in the salon. The game is much harder so you feel obligated to buy. Not as fun because of that.
Everything else needs work. Having to spend all the coins going back and forth flying between cities is frustrating. What coins am we supposed to use to upgrade then?? Recently we spent coins to fly instantly and it took our coins and never sent us to new York. And now we dont have enough coins to fly instantly again. The levels are pretty hard. The hard level was actually easier to beat than most of the regular levels. Finishing with everyone but maybe missing a heart is stupidly frustrating lol. Waiting 8 hours to get to the next city if you dont have the coins is actually ridiculous.

This game used to be so fun but now there are too many pay walls making some levels impossible to complete without having to make a $5 purchase. We can get over the ads but its actually ridiculous how features such as the employees that used to be accessible without in game purchase are now each $5. Im so dissatisfied and a game we once loved is now unplayable. Not to mention it costs money to buy in the store and requires you to pay even more once you begin playing.
We used to really enjoy this game as a kid. Ive restarted it many of times. However, the upgrades are insane. 25k for an upgrade???! We have been stuck on the same level for months. Ive gotten everybody full hearts too. Ive replayed every level we can to the point we dont even get any coins anymore but yet cannot pass the level without 25k coins saved up. We can only collect the 200 coins a day from the chest. Not to mention if you want to get workers for the shop you have to pay $5?! Absolutely a waste of time if you want to finish the game. Its impossible.
Anything after moving onto the New York levels are impossible. The game gets more and more frustrating if you dont buy into all the $4.99 helpers the devs want you to get as an upgrade. Annoying how everything has to be behind a paywall to make the game playable considering you already have to buy the gameon iOS. We tried coming back to this game after a couple months and realized why we stopped playing. Lastly, the gamed is flooded with impatient customers. Out of all the characters in the game, we feel like theres only two customers willing to wait while the game has 11 people in your spa at a time.
Im a big fan of the old game. Ive replayed it nearly every year for as long as we can remember. We dont mind paying for a game. We paid for the first one. But to pay $20 and still have pay to win features? No thanks. Ill spend our money elsewhere. We wouldve paid $20 for the new game if it was more streamlined looking (the amount of new features clutters the screen and its too colorful) and didnt have pay to win elements. Its really a shame. We were so excited when we saw this. Ive always wanted the OG Sallys spa to have the ability to cancel actions, a leaderboard, more levels and more of a challenge. But this aint it.
We love this game but the amount of coins for each update is ridiculous. We barely have around 5k coins saved and the updates for each spa machine is around 28k. Dont like the fact that we have to wait 8h for each flight. We wouldnt recommend if youre on this game often. We took a break from it.
This game brings back childhood nostalgia. We feel as though we are a kid again and honestly the game please very small we usually dont even write reviews but this one honestly deserves it because they are brought back the essence of a computer game and we honestly really appreciate it.
Been playing since we were 17 now Im 21 we always come back to it we wish there was more levels that would be sick :).

Love that you can keep playing. That the levels get harder and it takes a bit more strategy in some. We been stuck on a level for days until we get it and LOVE IT. We just want more levels so it wont end.
We really love this game and have been bingeing it for a couple weeks now. Expect some levels are wayyyyy to difficult to the point where its pretty impossible to pass. Im almost done with the game and if we didnt buy the staff we dont think we would be this far. The staff should be cheaper or the player should be given an alternative like buy a helper for $10000 (in game currency) we would also love more levels since Im almost done with the game and really love it.
This game is fun when its manageable but its gets too difficult too fast! Ive only been playing for a couple days and the game gets too out of control which doesnt make it fun we get more stressed! The whole point of the game is to have fun managing the spa and feel good at the end of the day and you can do that without making it so difficult where you fail the level so easily. Im sure they do that so youll pay for the assistants but Im not paying $5 for a game to make it easier on us.
This game has helped a lot with our anxiety and keeping our mind busy. However, some levels are nearly impossible to beat even after several tries. Ive already spent $40 on this game and yet we still have hardly any coins to buy more upgrades to earn more money to beat the challenging levels. The cost of upgrades needs to be more affordable. We also dont understand why the plane rides are 8H long or ridiculously expensive to skip.
This game overall is so fun, but you do need to pay for certain upgrades to make it fun. However, Ive sent two messages to the developers because Ive been stuck on level 49 Fiji, apprentice for two weeks now and its impossible to pass. The upgrades we have spent $ on arent enough. Feels like you would have to spent $50 just to pass this level and even then no guarantees. The game doesnt become fun when it feels like you have to spent real $ to level up. Please fix this.
Right off the bat we realized there were a lot of differences between the old version (the one you always had to pay for) and this current version of the game. Basically everything you can buy with coins in the paid version costs real money in the free version. Which doesnt make any sense? The game honestly is more stressful than fun because there is nothing you can do about unhappy customers, no extra staff, power ups, etc. Unless you pay for it. 3/5 stars because it seems like the developers care about the feedback from players by giving in game surveys but this game needs work.
The game went from too easy, to impossible to pass. We finally made it through the entire game, all countries and levels at zen master EXCEPT the last country and level because you have to beat your previous score and our previous score was already at max. We keep getting the same score. We like the speed of the game. We love that they have kept the same graphics. But we feel like the game has become very difficult. We have not purchased any assistants and refuse to pay $5 for someone that will turn the saunas on smh in this economy.
The gameplay is enjoyable but the game is a cash guzzler. You can have every patron leave the salon with 5 hearts and you wont beat a level because all your items arent upgraded. Upgrading one assistant can cost you $19.99 of your actual money. So you end up at a standstill unless you want to fork up the cash, its ridiculous. No amount of replaying past levels can garner that amount of money.
We love this game just how it is been this way for years.
