Find out what gamers are saying about Samurai of Hyuga Book 2:

We literally just finished Book 1 and was falling into that kind of empty depression you get after reading something incredible but unfinished, so words cannot express how happy we are to find out that Book 2-4 are already out. Immediately downloaded and bought all the rest with no hesitation, that’s how good this series is. Seriously love this so much!!

We’ve never cared to write a review before but… The tone and writing is as good as the first. However it feels as if we are restricted to the choices weve made based on our stats. Now each choice isnt clear in which your atunement is raised or lowered. It kind of bugged us as we wanted to diversify our character from book one, it was a bit frustrating having want to open up to our motley crew but feeling as if we wasnt supposed to. As character development is something every story should have. Now we dont really agree with other criticisms when we move onto the island. We feel like its a welcome addition, there are supposed to be supernatural elements that tug and mislead your path as the oni of greed tried to do in the first. We think if you really liked the first book definitely consider reading this one. We were only annoyed with the atunement stats, and that we had to take to google for a particular segment (one involving a japanese board game). This book is all about the aftermath after a storm with an exciting beginning and another storm brewing towards the end. Im hoping book 3 holds up considering the positive reviews. Definite props to the author.

Great game, kinda annoyed by the cliff hanger though.

This is truly an artwork that you have created. The characters, the story, the development, the themes, all of them just run so well against each other like our Ronin with his dear Momoko-chan.

This book was just as great as the first one. Only thing that bothers us is the cliffhangers. Definitely looking forward to Book 3.

Easily one of the best games we’ve had the pleasure to play.

Fantastic book. We’ve read every single choice of games book on the App Store, (except for that one about being an iron atom. We mean, what?) and this is most definitely the best one we’ve had the pleasure of "playing" coming in atop our former favorites, tin star and the heroes rise trilogy. This book delivered. We felt for the characters. We wanted to be there to comfort hatch, or lay a friendly hand on the ronin’s shoulder when he was feeling overwhelmed. We enjoyed the dichotomy between the first book, which focused more on violence and swordplay, and this one, more attuned to the intellectual pursuits available in hyuga. Also, the last supper, Mona Lisa, and roof of the cistine chapel inclusions were much appreciated. We truly cannot wait until the third installment.

This was just great. We couldn’t stop reading and got completely wrapped up in the story. Can’t wait for the third. Because they absolutely HAVE to keep this going.

This one was just as good as the last, and left us wanting more. When our first feeling at the end is frustration and disappointment at the fact that it’s over we know the story was executed well. I’d suggest this game to anyone even vaguely interested in the choose your own adventure drama, but only after playing the first. We fear too much would be lost without having played it first.

We have read many of the Choice of Games books, and this without a doubt a top 5 contender similar to the the Hero Project sequel in the Heroes Rise Series. This sequel built amazingly off of the original which was already a great book. We certainly cannot wait for the next installment and we highly recommend this book.

When does the next book come out?

This interactive story does the original justice and then some. Easily our favorite "choose your story" we’ve ever read we highly recommend both of them!

We need more. We read this book too fast. Please. Pleeeeease ()

Amazing story and we think a huge improvement on the first one, which was also amazing.

Well done. This was just as good as the first one. Too bad it ended before we could’ve killed this demon. Can’t wait for the third installment. We hope there would be more to do during each book.

We can’t get enough we want to read Book 3 so bad.

Absolutely fantastic! Please release book 3 soon!

Absolutely gorgeous, we love this series as much, if not more than we love Lost Heir. The story is compelling, the characters are fleshed out and the concrete imagery paints vivid pictures of the story. Will definitely be throwing our money at every installment of this.

Okay, this book gets INTENSE. Magical. At times, confusing. Overall, interesting. People are annoyed by the change of pace and direction the story has gone, but we welcome it. Im curious to how things will go in the next book… The only confusion is..(SPOILERS) we didn’t defeat any spirits? Sure, we MET the Baron, yet we’re two books in and have only really tackled the first part of the Emperor’s poem.

Love the game we just hate having to pay for every new book. It was agonizing to afford these let alone the possibility of another 5. We enjoy the length we just wish they could fit two books into one to save us a bit of ry haha… We can’t wait for pt 3! (Not that we haven’t already been waiting ages)

Another cliffhanger ending teasing at the next book that o can’t wait for. We don’t read manga or watch anime, but this is something we can easily get into and love. (Spoiler) we’re a bit upset we didn’t get to kill a demon this time. (Spoiler over) we feel like he could put these books in one to make one long book. But most of all, we just hope book three comes out asap, because this may be our favorite series out of all hosted and choice of games. Sorry Zombie Exodus and Tin Star, y’all got competition.

Some of the points were harder to keep up with, as if the scenes dragged along, but the description is incredibly good. We have the same opinion as of the first chapter when we say we got easily addicted and could not stop reading. Definitely getting more intense but these installments make us ache for we are impatiently waiting for the next episode. Interesting turn of events, keep it up.

We love both part 1 and 2, however part 2 had an ending that we didn’t suspect it would have.

Enjoyed the first and now we thoroughly enjoyed the second. We can’t wait for a third.

Pleaseeeeee get that one out soon. We’ve written maybe 1 review the past 5 years but we fell in love with this series.

We honestly think this is the best of Hosted Games and Choice of Games. We really enjoyed this book as much as the first one, and we hope the next one will be just as good though we hope to see more of Junko either he/she will be redeemed or the protagonist will be consumed.

Once again, Samurai of Hyuga has performed beautifully. A definite read, and one we highly recommend. However, we do have to agree with other reviews; the amount of violence and action in this book was… Lacking. A perfect book must have a happy medium between action and storytelling. Still, since this book IS a small part in a potentially large series, this lack of action can be overlooked, simply for its benefit as a whole.

The writing was wonderful and improved from the first book in our opinion. The only thing that keeps us from giving it it’s 5th star is how much time it appears to take for each installment to be released.

We agree with the whole confusion about the last half of the story. It started off amazing because it stuck with feudal Japan as its setting but then the last half is in some weird stranded island, and now apparently the characters can’t get out of it too. Just where was this supposed to go? The mission was to find the 2nd demon and kill it, not stay in a fantasy island for half of the book. It’s like the saying, "If we gonna eat, let’s eat." Let’s kill that demon already because we all know who it is. Another thing we didn’t like was how little romance there was, despite there being options for who you could pick in some scenes. We expected a little more romance in the second book but no. If the gender of Toshio/Toshi determined whether or not our character is gay/lesbian or straight, we would want more interactions with that character and not a forced (depending how you play) "romance" scene with Momo (the only female in the gang). There were many chances and moments where it could’ve taken a somewhat romantic turn with the other characters, but it didn’t deliver. And don’t get us started with that crazy bastard Jin. He’s a big NO. We were promised romance. At least make all of the characters an option, not just one.

Compared to the first novel, this one falls completely flat on it’s face. Way less action, more silly crap, and interactions that go no where with most characters. Feels like a filler for a series that may never be finished.

The game wont work. It wont load our save files even tho we have replayed the game multiple times today to try and get a good save. The game is not showing the words correctly and glitches out or doubles the paragraphs a lot. We cant play our save file no matter how hard we try. Please fix the game because we want to play.
