What Makes Letter Quiz Lite: ABC Tracing Stand Out

Letter Quiz Free is the preview version of Letter Quiz. Take our best selling app for a test drive! This version only goes to the letter H, and doesn't include lowercase letters, but you'll be able to see what the full version is like without spending any money.

Four different games for every stage of learning; flashcards, identification, matching and handwriting. Designed for kids but great for all ages.

  • What People Are Saying:
"I think this Letter Quiz is an awesome app. I downloaded the free version and my son was begging for the full version. That's when you know its a good one. So I downloaded the full version and he worked on his letters for an hour. As a parent, I am so happy that he loves it and he is learning."

"My 2 year old daughter loves this app. Initially the app had only recognizing the alphabets now it also features writing. My daughter didn't have any interest to write alphabets on paper but when she saw the app, she learned to write in a few days. On the whole excellent app recommend the full version to all parents with little children."

Four great games to develop your skills:

  • ABC Flashcards to get started recognizing letters
The uppercase and lowercase versions of each letter is shown on a card. Tapping on the card flips it over to reveal an object starting with the letter while a voice announces the letter and the objects.

  • Letter Identification to test knowledge
Multiple letters are shown on the screen and a voice requests you to touch a specific letter. If you touch the right letter, an object is shown starting with that letter, then it moves to the next letter. Get through all 8 letters and you win!

  • Matching uppercase and lowercase letters
The top shows letters in uppercase. The bottom shows letters in lowercase. Draw a line between the two letters matching uppercase and lowercase to get to the next level.

  • Alphabet Tracing to practice handwriting
Each letter is presented full screen with dotted lines shown to guide you through writing the letter. As you trace with your finger, fun sounds play along the line. After each letter is finished they are combined on a blackboard with your full alphabet. Complete all 8 letters to unlock the fireworks celebration with exploding letters and music!

Community Insight:

We use this app for letter tracing because our handwriting needs to improve.

If you want kids to learn their alphabet you cant give them the letters in alphabetical order every time. Most kids learn to say the alphabet first so they will just say the next letter but can not recognize it if it stands alone.

There seems to be a problem with tracing function. The numbers seem to be sticking and it gets very frustrating for our little one. Is this a common problem.

What a joke. It could not have possibly taken more than an hour to put together an app of alphabet flash cards, but they want money to get all the letters in the alphabet. Hahahahaa. This app must have been created by EA.

We had the free version of this and it's such a wonderful app we had to buy it. Purchased both the numbers and letters app. Both of our toddlers love the games and don't even realize they are learning.

We love this! Great amount of content for a preview app.

One of our favorite letter app. Has been great for teaching our kids how to write the letters.

This is the best app out there for little kids, our son of 2 years old learn the letter how to write them is just awesome. Our baby loves it.

We're an occupational therapist and we LOVE this app!!! It reinforces starting at the 'top' and uses the correct sequence of letter formation. Our kids love it.

We love this app our 4 yeAr old loves it he plays it on his iPad but people complain that there is no lower case that's true we like another app it has uppercase and lowercase and his own name. But we would rate this a 4/5 stars but it's a good app but please add lowercase it's important too you know.

We find it bizarre that people are complaining about this lite version not containing the entire alphabet as this is the point of a lite version??!?? It actually has a lot of content- you can try out all of the activities in the full version, just not with all the letters of the alphabet- you can try up to H. Our son loved when he finished all the letters and got to "blow up" each one. That alone makes this app stand out. If you have a kiddo reluctant to practice their letters who enjoys explosions and fireworks, you are in luck. We like the use of high quality pictures and audio too. When you trace the letters it makes a fun musical sound too. Our only request is to put a parental gate on the link to the full version the App Store, 5 stars for that minor fix. Thank you for no ads. Will recommend.

Our three and a half-year-old son enjoys this app. The music when 'writing' the letters is fun. More celebratory moments after completing some letters would be an improvement but overall this app is great.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add lower case letters to the "tracing" portion of this game. There is another app available that allows lower case practice, but it's not as good (engaging) as yours. However, as a early/primary teacher we know children need exposed to lower case letters as much as, if not more than, upper case. PLEASE ADD LOWER CASE LETTERS TO YOUR TRACING PORTION.

Our 3yr old has enjoyed it we think it is educational but, the flaws are that wether its writing letters or there sounds it only goes up to h what about letters we-z plz fix flaws.

This free version not only has ads but only goes to H. Wish we had known that.

Downloaded it and went to try it, but it does not let us trace at all. Deleting.

Our son (2) loves this app. He's learned to trace letters really well. Very easy to use and no glitches (on iPad). Just purchased the full version so he can see all the letters.

Our son loves this app and now goes to the chalkboard and can write most of his letters. We also catch him tracing letters in the air. He is 2 and a half and we know he can write his letters because of this great app! We bought the full version for the entire alphabet. We would love it to have lower case as well.

Needs a little bit wider space allowed for tracing for those truly beginning to make letters.

Could've been cool, but not free.

App only lets you trace letters to H and then it locks into fireworks. Also when you are letters and stop or hit home button it sends you back to letter A. Very annoying and not even worth buying full vesion for $1.99.

Our 2 year old nephew spent more time trying to color on it and trying to buy stuff in the store than he did with anything else. Thank goodness apple store has a password.

This app is not 100% free! Only went to letter G.

Our son is now 17 months, but he has loved this game since before he was a year old. He loves the funny sounds it makes when he gets letters wrong, and the pictures when he gets them right. He is still too little to really understand play, but he likes to say the names of the items for each letter as they are displayed. Great for averting car ride or restaurant meal meltdowns in a pinch.

This is amazing! The alphabet trace stops at H but there is a fireworks display and our 2 year old loves blowing up the letters and starting over! A must get if you have a toddler needing some Abc training.

This is a great app our son loves it so much but it doesn't allow him to trace the lower case letters. It goes against how we are teaching him how to write his name. We may have to take this app off only because it is confusing him. He thinks everything should be in caps. We hope they will fix this.

Got this app for the tracing the letters section, since we have a child in pre-k that needs to learn to write letters. The free version only goes up till the letter H. We thought for a free version you'd get at least half the alphabet. We guess not.

Our son loves this app but the a is not correct for learning to write. No one learns to write an a like a computer font with the little hat. It need to be simple circle and line type of a.

Good one, but this is very basic, should have A-Z. And pls no vibrations!!!! Scares our child.

Agree with Jackel37…concept is great but the praise vs wrong answer sounds are backward. The sound as the person speaks is too staticy.

It only gives you eight letters in this free version, so you can see how the full one plays. It's cute but we wouldn't pay 2 bux for this app. 99 cents maybe.

This only goes through letter H – we know it's free but still didn't realize you only got a few letters. It should have all the letters and still be free.

This app is great in principle. However, the wrong answers give your toddler the fun noises and the right answers give your toddler the monotone voice and a picture. This is backwards. It is obvious that whomever designed this either has no children or no idea about psychology. Please, please put it the other way around. Give the reward for the right answer.
