This game is much more put together than the Zoe’s Magical Escape game. Sand is enjoyable and flows smoothly between scenes.

**UpdatedThe developer replied to this review, which is kind of incredible. Apparently the two puzzle snags we mention in our original review arent snags, but intentional and dont affect the game. So we gave another star, but they still seem distracting and odd imo. We would certainly try another of this developers games. Original reviewI paid for the game, and having finished think it mostly delivers on the price. We enjoyed the style and tone of the story and game. The graphic novel-type art was great, the sound/music were good, and there were words when we tapped on almost everything, which seems like such an easy thing but so many games slack there. The puzzles were standard but solid; a little more challenge would have been nice but we’ve played a lot of these sorts of games. One problem is that you can advance without solving at least one puzzle (the stone rings), which begs the question of why its there. You cant go back so presumably you miss part of the story, which in a short game is irksome. In the beginning there is also a window that is too high so the game says youll have to check it out from the other sidethat either doesnt or doesnt have to happen because we didnt find a way to investigate before the chapter ended. Those seem like two surprising mistakes in what is otherwise a pretty polished game imo.

Its not often we get to the end of a game and say, Holy ****! At the completion of the story, but we did on this onetwice. Its a nice little game for an excellent price IMO. We used hints pretty frequently when we couldnt quite tell what a puzzle wanted us to do, but we never had to resort to easy mode. The puzzles all had solutions we found logical, unlike some other puzzle games, where we often have a reaction of how was we supposed to figure THAT out if Im having trouble with a solution. The coin puzzle seems to trip up a lot of people, and we agree that it made use of some algebra which Id have found easier if we broke out some scratch paper. But as far as we can tell, there is only one solution for X. That was maybe the most satisfying to solve! The one we struggled with the most was the antidote puzzle, because it took us way too long to figure out we were allowed to do something that was required for at least some of the solutions. The only puzzle we solved by accident was the one where you slid around a bunch of squares to put them in the right order. We thought we knew what we were supposed to do and then about halfway through it unlocked and Im still not quite sure why that was the solution. All in all, we really enjoyed this game, and Im interested in seeing other games from this developer.

The puzzles were challenging but not impossible. After playing the demo, we fell in love with the art style and puzzles. We happily paid $1.99 for the full version. We only "simplified" 2 puzzles, but that was because visually they were hard to distinguish (the beetles puzzle + the numbers square puzzle). Overall, a fun puzzle game (with actually challenging puzzles) with an interesting premise (though the ending felt rushed). The most difficult part of the game was trying to find the hidden objects in random rooms! One of the rings you needed in a puzzle was in a corridor hidden by complete shadows! And a flask you needed to clean a mirror was placed amongst an already completed puzzle. It was unnecessarily frustrating to look up a tutorial of the game because we literally couldn’t find what we needed to progress. The hints were just "you need to find the object"- boy, we know, we do! Where IS the object, hint? If the company releases another puzzle game (a sequel could be fun with the open ending), we would happily play it. Just made the hidden objects easier to find!

We only played the free portion which took about 5 minutes so we cant speak to the paid part of the game. Its really pretty – we love the art style – but the paywall came way too early in our opinion.. Based on other reviews saying the whole game is under an hour long, maybe that explains why? Im not willing to pay for a game Im only going to play one time, regardless of how good the game is. It seems like a puzzle/story game should be longer and ideally give you more of a demo or better explain what all is included in the full game? It seems this is a first game from this dev so Im excited to see their future projects as theres definitely some strong potential here.

We have an iPhone 17 with the ios 17 floating island at the front facing camera, which means that when we are playing, the arrows to turn to the left are completely inaccessible. The "back arrow" is in line with the swipe-up bar, so that’s annoying too. There were no left turns like this in the demo portion so we had no idea before purchasing. Seems fun but too frustrating with the UI not accounting for margins.

The transition between rooms is very odd and choppy. Despite that we kept going thinking it was fine for a free game but then we hit a paywall. You are able to do one quick part of a mission before hitting a paywall. Considering our short mission we didnt buy and really dont think it would be worth it all.

We are playing on an ipad mini and was enjoying the game until we hit the beetle puzzle that needs the translation notes. Problem is, the letter t on the notes is not visible on our screen so we cant complete the puzzle. Id like our money back.

This was a fun game! The story was engaging, the graphics were great, the accompanying music was pleasant and fitting, and the puzzles were challenging without being tedious or overly difficult. We are looking forward to other games by pixlab.

Wish there were more of it- it ended too soon! Good story, decent puzzles. But way too, too short!

We love solving puzzles and this game did not disappoint. Our only wish is that it was longer.

The artwork and polish of the game set this apart from many other games in the genre. Some reviewers mentioned the puzzles were difficult to solve, but we appreciated the developers adding puzzles that required more effort to complete. We especially liked the beetle sorting puzzle and the money bowls. Our kids enjoyed the easier ring puzzle and mixing the antidote. Our only complaint would be the game was over too soon. Please make more games like this :)

Wow, this game is amazing! Absolutely beautiful. The puzzles are gorgeous and fun and the ending was bitter sweet.

We hope they right more chapters got it. The puzzles were interesting and snd fun and we were enjoying the mood set by the musical score. More please!

We’ve played nearly every escape puzzle game out there and this one is one of their better ones. Its on the harder for sure, but we were able to roll through without any hints – no clue was too obscure at all. (That def took some time! But was well worth it). If you enjoy a challenge, this is for you. We would say its def harder than any Rusty Lake stuff and maybe a little harder/sane level as Glitch Games catalog. The only drawback was that the puzzles are mostly one dimensional, meaning all of the clues are right there, there really isnt a need to keep track of clues and apply them in other locations. (That may be a benefit to some!) But either way, we look forward to more from this dev!

We loved this game and am looking forward to the next one. Not too hard, not too easyjust right! Thank you for creating it!

We downloaded this last night and finished it in about 3 hours. It was so worth the purchase of the full game.

We enjoyed this game. We had no issues with the puzzles. We hope the story continues. Worth the $2 we spent to play the full game. Good job developers.

There are lots of great aspects about this game. Its not too hard but definitely will slow you down mentally requiring you to think, try, fail and try again. The graphics were very nice albeit limited just to when interacting for game play. There are a few cut scenes of just stills and a story line to read along to. All in all we enjoyed this game and would recommend. We do wish it were a bit longer. We finished with only a little over 2 hours of playtime. We used hints a couple times and the life saver button only once.

Magnificent! Great puzzles, stunning artwork, beautiful music, realistic dialogue and storyline. 4/5 because the ending felt a bit abrupt. The rest of the review is a spoiler, if you don’t want tree end of the game spoiled, STOP READING HERE. Spoiler we took one star off because the story delves into reincarnation, gave it back because that’s our fault for not reading the information on a game based on ancient Egypt, then took it back because the ending feels really abrupt.

We loved this game, felt like the puzzles were a good level of challenging. Paid for it. But the ending was so abrupt the whole thing you are working towards doesnt even really happen, disappointed in that, could have had more puzzles to get out of the trap set by the theif and complete the mission plus the end story line.

Great built-in help system, puzzles that can be changed to easy if needed, interesting story. Short but worth the small price.

We thought these puzzles were great, challenging but none that left us feeling like we needed to give up. Only thing that could make this game better is if it were longer.

It is an okay puzzle game but without the easy versions of puzzles we would be dead in the water because most of the puzzles are not based on logic but random trial and error, very boring. Cant recommend it if you are looking for something interesting like The Room.

We bought the full version and really liked the art style and game play but it felt like the ending was sudden and needed more to it. For purchasing the game we felt it could have been longer really wish there was more to it.

So we like a lot about this game. Beautiful design/ artwork, generally easy to use, great puzzles. We wound up breaking out algebra skills we havent used in 30 years for the coin puzzle, then ditched the approach and went with a hunch which proved correct. Really makes us think, which we like in a game. Our issue is that when you get to the wheel puzzle in the labyrinth (the one where you start with a cyan pie piece across the disks), we get stuck. We can place the sections from the wall diagram where they belong, but theres no indication as to where the others should go. After trying a few logical possibilities, we realized either we were missing a piece of information or it was one we would have to brute force, which we dislike intensely. We looked up wikis and walkthroughs, but the ones we found stop at the end of the free section. Theres no option to get an easier puzzle here, or anything about where to look for more info. Also cant find a way to message the creator for info so, review it is. Again good game. Just frustrating when you cant find out how to work around a puzzle.

We were enjoying the game, but it ended much sooner than we expected.

Pros: Fantastic visuals. Great atmosphere. Price. We would absolutely be interested in another game with the same artist. Neutral: Generic unimaginative puzzles that are mostly easy or tedious. Pretty minimal story. Almost no interaction with people and environment. Cons: The coin puzzle was faulty. The 2nd and 4th equations are identical. Its clear they worked backward by just assigning values to the coins and bowls and then wrote whatever on the clue sheet. There is only one solution if you assume integer values but given the simplicity of the other puzzles you cant convince us that this was deliberate. Also on one side they add with a (+) and the other side they just write the coins next to each other which added to the confusion.

This game asks you to buy the full game after playing it for about thirty seconds and going through the first few puzzles. Wack and disappointing. If youre gonna charge for the game, charge for it. Dont put it up as FREE and then ask for money after literally a minute of play through. Its enjoyable and somewhat interesting for the free portion but Im not going to spend money on it on this basis alone.

The gameplay is OK, the puzzles arent that difficult for the free version (no hints or help) and navigation is well made. The free version is short though. Really short that we beat it in less than 5 minutes, unless you want to buy the rest of the game (I havent bought the rest of the game yet), honestly we were expecting more since initially you arent required to pay.

Cant figure it out from the clues given.

Good start of a game, but you can only play the first level for free. If u like puzzle games we recommend cube escape, free and way better.

We were so excited to play this game. The art and style of it was great but frustrating that you could only do one puzzle then had to pay to play the rest of the game. Very disappointing.

So we started playing and almost immediately hit a pay wall. It irked us because we dont like it when developers do sneaky, shady, stuff like that, but it seemed like a game we would enjoy, so we paid up. We got through the whole thing in less than an hour. Thats it. The whole game took less than an hour. The puzzles were ok. Not too easy, not too hard. We did have to do two of them on easy mode, but no big deal. The story was very lacking in detail. It was frankly, dull. There just wasnt much to it, and the end was very abrupt and anticlimactic (which isnt surprising because the whole story was anticlimactic). The graphics and music were good , and the few puzzles there were, we enjoyed. It was just so incredibly short and boring for a PAID game, we were very disappointed.

In the room with paintings on columns (stomach, etc), Im supposed to use our brush on dust but we no longer have a brush which it says we are lucky we still have. If theres no brush in our backpack then how do we use it?.

We wish someone would have put u had to pay to go to the next levels.

Honestly the game looks very good, however its a pay to play which means you have to pay for the full version of the game after the first few clicks. It is getting ridiculous how we have to pay for maybe a couple minutes of a puzzle game.

We downloaded thinking it was a free game we got into it and as soon as we got into the camp and tried to click anything we got a popup telling us we had to pay either make the game free with ads, make users pay to download, or state where it can be seen in the description that you have to pay for the game we literally got no warning what a waste of time.

This is only a VERY short demo before it asks you to buy the game.

If youre only going to give us one short level to play before you have to pay, just either make the game free or make us pay to download. Its so annoying.

As youll see from the other reviews, a lot of people struggle with the coin puzzle, and theres a good reason why: the clues yield a set of possible solutions, not a unique one. Its fundamentally a set of linear equations with two degrees of freedom; the limited number of coins add one more constraint, but again, not enough for a unique solution. We play puzzle games for the satisfaction of solving a puzzle. When a puzzle has multiple solutions but only one is accepted, this fundamentally ruins this experience. Furthermore, Im leaving this at one star because of the developers responses to other reviewsproviding solutions to puzzles are not the same as true hints, and telling frustrated players theyre basically too dumb to solve their ill-designed puzzle is bad practice. The game is not good enough on its own merits to make up for this kind of developer response.

You have to pay for the full game. You get one level then are told to buy the rest of the game. Not worth downloading unless u want to spend ur money.

We got to the point where we had to use our inventory items to light our torch. We toggled our inventory and it was empty with no option to scroll up or down.

Its not worth the 2 dollars because we finished this game under an hour. There needs to be more added or make it free because its not worth the money.

No where in this does it say that it is a free trial or a demo, very upsetting that theres only 5? Minutes worth or game play before you have to buy it to play anymore of it. This isnt a free game with in-app purchases its just a straight up buy the game.

We loved everything about this game. The art style, the story progression, and the puzzles were all great. Only thing we really struggled with was the coin puzzle. We were able to figure out a couple of the coins in relation to other coins, but couldnt quite get it without turning the easy mode on. Could you post a walkthrough or solution on how to calculate in the normal difficulty ?

Short and sweet, worth the cost. Plus the puzzles were perfectly balanced.

Im stuck on gathering the stone rings.

Decided to buy it to complete the game. Dont waste your time. Beat it like 2 minutes after purchasing. Scamming people out of their money is exactly what theyre doing.

Amazing game, great puzzles, good challenges! And the developer (Manuela Misani) is amazing! They are very quick in responding yo any issues faced in the game! Superb artwork! All in all, the game shows that the developer took their time to create a game worth the price (and then some!). Thanks!!
