RATED 4 STARS AND A+ BY COMMON SENSE MEDIA

Savings Spree is a fun App with a serious lesson for children ages 7 and up (younger children can play too with a little help from mom and dad or an older sibling). It teaches kids how the choices they make each day can add up to big savings or big expenses, depending on how they decide to spend (or not spend) their money. Savings Spree shows kids that they can SAVE their money for short term goals (like a bike or an MP3 player), SPEND wisely by making more frugal decisions, DONATE to others or INVEST money so it will grow to meet future needs like a college education.
The game also teaches kids how the daily lifestyle choices that they make can add up to big savings or big expenses, depending on how they choose to spend (or not spend) their money.

The game introduces the concept of earning money for the work that’s available and also guides the child through making choices with the money accumulated during the game. Lastly, the game demonstrates that events beyond one’s control can cost money, so it’s good a good idea to have a rainy day fund available to pay for unexpected events.

The game is presented in game show format, taking players through six rounds that test their financial knowledge and help them build money saving skills. The host of the show is the Money Savvy Pig, the trusted, money-smart character central to the award-winning Money Savvy Kids curriculum, also available from Money Savvy Generation.

Hear from the Players – Savings Spree Reviews

Find out what gamers are saying about Savings Spree:

Excellent top Excellent top Excellents.

The app is a total waste of money in our opinion and an example of the kinds of things you should teach your kids not to waste their money on. They refused to refund us after we reported that it really is a useless and unhelpful app. You can find free information online more helpful than this app. We found it misleading as well as we thought it would be an allowance app to track allowance for chores and other things. Lesson learned.

The concepts were great for one round of play but the same levels with the exact same options are to be played over and over again. Our daughter loved the first three round but after was completely bored and had memorized the answers. We cant believe we just spent $5.99 to teach money concepts and wasted our money. We never complete reviews but feel parents should know its not a game that progresses and keeps it fun.

This is a very good app to teach kids how to spend their money properly. It’s a good app for a child of any age. It will make kids think twice before buying things in the store that they "absolutely need". If a child wants to play your iPhone or iPod/iPad let them play this. It is a really fun game.

If your kid has an iPod Touch or begs for your iPhone/iPad to play games, ADD THIS ONE to your collection. In the midst of playing and having fun, your child will learn concepts such as their ability to make choices with their money – as well as how to think about making those choices. The game also inspires kids to think about earning money and teaches them common ways people lose money through wasting it on thoughtless chocies. Through it all the game keeps "score" in the form of a running account balance so the player feels control and learns how to improve. Learning that our CHOICES influence our financial future teaches our kids a true sense of control and empowerment over money in their lives.

We only let our kids play educational games on our iPhone. This is so fun they do not realize they are learning about spending/saving/donating and investing. The fun graphics and upbeat music have them fighting over it! We have girls and they love the bakeshop where you decorate cupcakes and the lemonade stand.

Our kids have had Money Savvy Pigs practically since they were born so they were thrilled when we showed them this game. Our 5 and 7 year olds didn’t put it down for 30 minutes the first time they played it. It’s great when a learning app is engaging for kids. Great app. I’d love to see an iPad version in the future.

Money Savvy Generations has hit a grand slam home run with Saving Spree! The educational methodology and design integrity is original, powerfully engaging and truly effective. This application is a fantastic resource for introducing financial understanding into the minds of children… An area of education long ignored by our culture and our school systems.

This App is one of a kind. Serious fun for all ages and highly entertaining. Its playability is endless and its value far exceeds the $2.99 we paid for it. BUY THIS APP.

Our dad let us write a review for this fantastic iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch game. We are nine years old and we want everybody to know about this knowledgeable and fun game that we can not take our eyes off of. We love it!

Kind of like Atari vs. Xbox. Needs more choices for jobs to maintain your attention. Good message. Just. A little underdeveloped for something that cost 5.99.
