A Glimpse into Scorched: Total Recall

Become a real tank squad commander. Fight for glory on the battlefield. Choose from different armoured war machines and a variety of missiles. Develop your skills, your inner strategical instinct, and build your army through the battles against the genius, artificial intelligence controlled enemy.

Your tank squad will be unique: you can build it from as many units as you wish and develop each machine in many ways. You will face battle situations and an increasingly clever AI mastermind – the challenge is to defeat it and conquer the battleground.

Scorched: Total Recall is part of a set of three games, together with Arena and Battlefield. The units you recruit into your personal army in this game will be transferable to Arena or Battlefield. You can read more about the other games, our future plans and releases on the website of the game (www.purplehead.uk).

What’s New in the Latest Update?

Find out what’s new in the latest version of Scorched: Total Recall updated on 31st July 2018:

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon.

The version 1.4 is on its way to you and it holds a few hopefully exciting improvements beyond ironing out the wrinkles of the last release.

Map, map, map!
First of all the accidental clicks on levels have been sorted. You can discover the whole map with confidence, you will not start a battle unwittingly.
The biggest change on Map is that the level limit hase been removed. You can play as much and as long as you like. I never thought that anyone would go beyond 170, but there was an obvious need so here you are.
An other change is that the little tank that shows the position on Map is not a static prop anymore. It follows your movement on map.

Challenge you!
I’ve already got questions regarding the stars above the levels on Map, and indeed their meaning was not too obvious. The stars belong to challanges and the first challenge that has been introduced was the Time Challenge – how quickly you can finish a battle. It has got a few mates now: Ammo Challenge – use only a limited number of ammunition; Collect Challenge – collect boxes; Survive Challenge – survive for a time; Destroy Challenge – destroy a special object on the battle ground;
and Multiplayer Challenge. This last one has not implemented fully. Basically it is a Time Challenge, but the players will be other human players – but not in this release.

Score boards
We have a few score boards throughout the game. You can compete with other players on daily and weekly scores, two hugely popular races, and also every level has got its own winners. We have a Best Battle competition as well, though it is a bit meaningless as it is hard to compare two different battles. I removed this competition and introduced a new one – Best Fighters.
Best Fighters competition is aggregating the overall achievements over every rank and announces the top 3 winners, giving them a gold, a silver and a bronze medal.

Fun game has few glitches but well worth the download but definitely glitches were it freezes.

Not what we were originally looking for! We were originally looking for an old game called scorched earth. However we’ve found this game to be a lot of fun. Simple and easy to play. Perfect way to kill some time.

We havent encountered any bugs. Fun to play. A good update to the old game.

Fun game. Enjoy the different terrain challenges.

Lots of fun. Kind of wish there were more variety of upgrades available at lower levels. Overall it is a good game.

Fun but the gameplay would be more fun if it were more similar to the old dos game. Multiplayer should be developed.

We were looking for the old scorched earth and found this. Simple and fun. We wish there were more variety early on. Worth the download. Will binge for a while.

Pretty neat. Has an annoying glitch where it seems to get stuck pretty regularly. But other than that.

Good game, sort of like the first one.

Wish it had the weapons and setup like old school scorched earth. But we guess you cant beat the mother of all games.

The gameplay is fun, but the app freezes at the end of each round unless you zoom in on your tank. The last round will not let you advance either. Fix the bugs, and this is a 5-star game.

Was looking for scorched 3D. This isnt as good but ok for 2D.

Overall fun game. Wish it allowed for multiplayer battles online.

Fun but slow grind. Continuously get worthless boxes Nope, Didnt Win and so forth. Very annoying.

Need better control of the tank… Cant make it stop when we want it to… If that function is available, need better instruction.

Game designed to make you spend money on the things that actually make the game usable. Not a lot of fun if youre not prepared to buy a lot of upgrades. Poor graphics For such a simple game.

Constantly have to restart on iPhone X. Becomes non responsive constantly. Will give us option to quit game but just goes back to frozen game. Will delete the game. Not worth the hassle.

First off it doesnt even work properly. Never mind that it difficult to see the controls. How is this even up on the app store.

Waste of time. Wouldnt Los and the graphics and color scheme is awful. Deleted within 10 minutes of trying to play.

Game is super buggy. Cant seem to touch anything and make it work, just freezes.

There are no instructions anywhere to be found. The interface is not intuitive at all, and the game seems to respond at random. Tapping on anything does nothing, and when you do manage by sheer dumb luck to win a round, the only way to advance is by exiting out of the game and re-opening it. Movement happens out of nowhere. Coins are added or deducted without any rhyme or reason. If this is supposed to be reminiscent of the old Scorched Earth PC game, its a cruel joke.

Does not work well on iPhone 14.

Glitches, shuts down every level,

Reminds us of the old school dos game.

Very cool game. No bugs so far.
